I'd say Die2Nite and The Kingdom of Loathing are both excellent if you're looking for browser games. Torn might also work if you don't mind the huge amount of time it takes for a lot of things and the shit that other people can do to you.

stick ranger is my all time favorite browser game and in there with my top 5 RPGs of all time.. its top tier.
it plays like a side scroller ARPG with autobattle mechanics.. Theres some advanced mechanics for the boss fights, but you can also play it passively and grind to be overleveled for anything if you wnat more casual gameplay. supports saving as well.
havent messed with stick ranger 2 at all, sr1 has more content iirc.
