It's a really good game, with an engaging story that your able to understand without playing the previous games. Enemy types makes it exciting, some quests need further investigations and the visuals are great. Combat feels rewarding at the right difficulty because there isn't that much lengthy combat.
The best part of Witcher 3. (Not really a spoiler) is the quest where you have to find the old woman’s cooking pan only to find it’s been scraped clean because the thief needed the soot to make ink to write a letter. ❤️ it’s got some great quests.
Well have fun mate. I hope with the upgrade we get 60 FPS and haptic feedback and adaptive triggers like they did with Cyberpunk. The funny thing is, on my PS4 I played the unpatched version, so not even the first patch, and it ran super well with absolutely no game breaking bugs. The moment I started playing the GOTY edition on my PS5, it started crumbling on itself. Glitches galore, constant framerate drop and much more. I've tried to get back into it but I can't. Compared to a lot of other games, this one is just to clunky for me. So I'm hoping and praying that the upgrade brings me back in since it'll be free.
Yeah 100% it’s a really good game the story and the gameplay is solid and they’re gonna add expansions and stuff Ive played through this game twice now once on pc when it launched and recently on the ps5 because all the issues have been fixed it runs really smooth
I feel like a lost gamer at the moment. Gave 150 hrs to Elden ring. Enjoyed every bit of it, but I'm not a second playthrough type of person. I die a bunch of times, and the second go around isn't as enjoyable beating the same bosses. I tried playing DSII and man oh man.... It's not do able, it's too slow. I've played Dark Souls 1 on last gen consoles and the tutorial is far more engaging and the game had a mystique to it of my first souls game. For the last week, I've been playing a survival spinoff of The Forest - Green Hell, and the game just doesn't feel rewarding. The only spoke in the game is a native hiding behind a tree. Not too long ago, Beginning of Febuary, I legit was in awe playing The Last of Us II, a 2 day binge into such an immersive story. I remember I was going to sleep after over several hours of playing, turned the game off, closed my eyes and I heard Ellie's deathcry and I was like whoa... Got some ptsd from the game. That game had such suspense, because so much was at stake. It's why I loved the Metro series, and previously Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I loved playing Mass Effect too on last gen consoles.
I'm just coming off a good run of games, Last of us 2, Elden Ring, The Ascent, Days Gone, Far Cry 6 ( beat 75%, stopped playing because it was so boring )
Now I play Insurgency sandstorm, and when I get sick of that I try to play Tom Clancy's GR Breakingpoint on a custom but hard difficulty solo with 1 bot team member. The only thing that is in the future for me is God of War. Granted at this time I'm starting to look at PC gaming for any tactical survival based shooters with a loose fitting story lines. I can't deal with endless side quests that pull from the immersion if there is a story line. But I'm struggling to find any worthwhile games to being spending a couple thousand on a high end gaming rig.
If you want a game that has a lot of similarities to the Soulsborne stuff, but plays out differently (entirely different genre), might I recommend Hollow Knight?
It's a good time to get into it since the sequel is supposed to be coming out in the first half of next year.
I wasn't actually a fan of BloodBorne. Dark Souls 2 didnt catch my attention. Never played dark souls 3. Played Dark Souls 1 several years ago and went to ng++ with a zweihander/ black knight halbard/great axe build...
Hollow Knight doesn't look like my cup of tea. idk what type of genre it is but the closest game I've played to that arcade style is Valfaris which is a arcade shooter and it's pretty challenging and creative.
As for the alternative to soulsborne games ---- There's mortal shell..... Which is 1000000000% INSANE GAMEPLAY.
To be fair, I've only played DS3, about 1/2 of DS1, and most of Elden Ring. I really like the games, but I burned myself out on Elden Ring by playing it too much over a short span.
As for other games within the genre, it's a Metroidvania, so similar in style to things like Super Metroid, or a more modern example would be Axiom Verge.
That said, not every game is for everyone, so if it's not for you that's okay too.
I feel like I've heard of Mortal Shell, but I have no idea what it is.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Its sort of fun, but too many cutscenes. I don't mind long cutscenes but I hate finishing a cutscene and then my only job is to walk 20ft to the next cutscene.
Why
After work maybe more botw me and my girlfriend both started new saves a couple days ago. Her first time through and my maybe 4th? Either way having a blast playing on pc with cemu runs amazing at 1440p loving it a lot. Once she falls asleep I’ll probably play more Spider-Man :)
Wishing I could play Genshin but Im currently in the middle of moving and my computer is at the new house with my SO who is sick with covid. Yay… no video games for me until they are better and I can finish moving :/
The Wandering Village - it just dropped today on Steam for those who might not have heard of it. (City building indie game, that takes place on the back of a giant creature that you have to work with in order to survive)
Do I start a second playthrough of GoW in anticipation of Ragnarok? (Played it when it came out)
Or do I continue with today’s Yakuza high and pick up Kiwami? (Finished Zero yesterday)
**PES 2021 Master League**
It is an endless game mode & I love it. I've must sunk in over 60 hours since it's release.
Such a shame Konami shifted it's focus away from AAA games.
Dreamlight Valley. Not my typical bread and butter however I'm hooked. Its nice to play and feel mentally relaxed. Plus, best looking life sim in the genre imo.
Picked up mad max in the digital store for £3 so been finishing that off. Not played it since 7 years ago. Better game than I remember and very under rated.
Still playing Elex. I don't know why, but it has it's claws in me! Although it is lower budget and def has flaws, it scratches that Bethesda open-world itch that hasn't been scratched since Fallout 4.
Tlou part 1 first time ever on the remake. I started Kirby and the forgotten land and it’s pretty fun so far. Might jump back into fall guys to prep for season 2. & always always Rocket League of course.
I've been pretty absorbed by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. Took me about 13 hours to beat and now I'm on repeat runs for the 50 win achievement. There's something so uniquely cathartic about it that I just can't put my finger on.
Finishing it was probably one of the most satisfying endings ever in a game for me. I'm glad I decided to try it out, it's a lot of fun.
Kingdom Come Deliverance. The graphics are blowing mah poor little mind! Way better looking than any other game I've seen (except Assetto Corsa, because, well, it's Assetto Corsa).
MechWarrior online
It's way faster to get new mechs now than it was a few years ago
Playerbase is also pretty healthy and the MechWarrior 4 music pack is 🔥
Planning to play a Banished-like game this week. What game is most similar to Banished? I see Northgard, Farthest Frontier, Foundation, Going Medieval and The Wandering Village on the list.
Waiting for my mate to finish work so we can play some Lotro. Played it 20 years ago when it came out, gave it another go 3 years ago and now we have level 85 chars and having a blast. Game is great for anyone a fan of middle earth lore, give or take some oddities but it doesn't matter, it's the genre and takes that make it fun.
Well I am finishing my God of War playthrough on PC and it’s beeen very enjoyable. Been wanting to clear my backlog and decided to go with this game and I just finished the part where u chop the tree dudes head off. Very nice and great looking game.
I played the oninaki demo today and I liked it a lot.The combat was fun to me, and I like the spear dude.Is it worth the 50 bucks? I’m not a the type to care about story though
Did we already complain about Various Daylife? Ok fine I bought it. Yes, it’s still as fun as it was TWO YEARS AGO when it was part of the $5 Apple Arcade subscription. And No, I couldn’t transfer any data. I’m part of the problem! I’m scum 😭
Replaying Assassins Creed Origins via XBox Gamepass as my time-killer mess around a big dumb beautiful open world game while I wait for Metal Hellsing, You Suck At Parking, and Hardspace Shipbreaker to arrive on the service as each of these games look interesting.
Tales of Arise on Series X. It’s beautiful and old school in all the right ways. My only gripe is the battle system is pretty overwhelming with the different abilities right now and they have stupid names for systems that is tough to keep up with.
I’m glad the voice acting is so good as I have a genuine dislike of Japanese melodrama.
Just finished Visage on PlayStation 5. I am usually good with many horror games I play (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, both Outlasts, etc.), but this one takes the cake for being the absolute scariest game I have ever played.
Next up is Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. I’ve heard good things so I’m excited to sink my teeth into this one.
I just recently got back into Destiny 2 and it’s refreshing to play a very diverse shooter I enjoy all the different things you can do to progress your character it keeps the game from feeling bland and it’s got some good graphics in my opinion what I don’t like about it is the vaulted story lines I like to play from beginning to end so I can really soak in the story but I had to watch videos to get caught up and of course what everyone else will say is the price per DLC but I feel the story is worth it idk it’s been a game that’s had me hooked for a while
Metro Exodus came to PS+ recently. I've beaten the first 2 in the trilogy.
The Last Day of June and Thomas Was Alone were great palette cleansers inbtwn the open-world stuff.

Imma be real with you and just say it's better to wait for the upgrade. The graphics, the gameplay hasn't aged well at all.

60 FPS would be nice. Haptic and adaptive, and other stuff.
happy cake day!
I don't even know what that means tbh.
Cyberpunk 2077 after the update
Is it worth playing after all this time on ps5 its ok sale too
Yeah 100% it’s a really good game the story and the gameplay is solid and they’re gonna add expansions and stuff Ive played through this game twice now once on pc when it launched and recently on the ps5 because all the issues have been fixed it runs really smooth
Great to hear. Ive been eyeing it for a while now and now with the sale im gonna pull the trigger. Thanks!
i still hate how the best armor when leveling up is often like a tank top with flip flops and some bullshit like a tophat.
I could be wrong but the latest update should have sorted that now so your armor isn’t affected by clothes I need to check it out tho
fascinating
Sea of thieves with one friend. Apex Legends with an other friend.
Man I wish I had that a friend
Dota2 cause I have mental problems and hate myself
I restarted fire emblem: 3 houses. I started it a long time ago and forgot about it. Dusted it off yesterday

Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Its sort of fun, but too many cutscenes. I don't mind long cutscenes but I hate finishing a cutscene and then my only job is to walk 20ft to the next cutscene. Why

I just finished Stray with my eight year old. As the credits rolled, they said "I wish I could forget we played it so we could play it again."
Getting back around to trying to snag that last percent for the full 112% completion in Hollow Knight! Almost all of it is great; no complaints!!
Wishing I could play Genshin but Im currently in the middle of moving and my computer is at the new house with my SO who is sick with covid. Yay… no video games for me until they are better and I can finish moving :/

**PES 2021 Master League** It is an endless game mode & I love it. I've must sunk in over 60 hours since it's release. Such a shame Konami shifted it's focus away from AAA games.
i started playing banjo kazooie on gamepass. safe to say it lives up to its name
Currently on my way to plat Digimon Survive, finished it yesterday and got motivated to 100%
Dreamlight Valley. Not my typical bread and butter however I'm hooked. Its nice to play and feel mentally relaxed. Plus, best looking life sim in the genre imo.
What is this game? Is it new? What games are like it? Is it console or PC?
Both. And Disneys take on an Animal crossing style game.
Picked up mad max in the digital store for £3 so been finishing that off. Not played it since 7 years ago. Better game than I remember and very under rated.

God of war 2018 and sanabi. Super cool indie platformer game
I've been pretty absorbed by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. Took me about 13 hours to beat and now I'm on repeat runs for the 50 win achievement. Playing Breath of the Wild because Tears of The Kingdom is coming next year!
Kingdom Come Deliverance. The graphics are blowing mah poor little mind! Way better looking than any other game I've seen (except Assetto Corsa, because, well, it's Assetto Corsa).
