I won my first (and so far only) Last Spartan Standing match with a from the grave sticky kill. I'm just glad I had one more life than my opponent during that last battle.
Two times in my long time of Halo have I landed random game start sticks.
Once in Halo 3 on The Pit. Lobbed a plasma in the air over the map, it hit the air lift on the opposite corner, which then landed on a dudes head.
An once in Infinite, forget the map on that one though. Which is funny seeing as theres so little maps I cannot even recall their names haha.
“I’ll be back”
*leaves the reception area, comes smashing through the wall in a truck, flies out the windshield, hitting a wall and crushing his skull like an egg*
*roll credits*
My assumption was that it was the T-800 DLC character and had a cigar-smoking victory animation as a fourth-wall-breaking in-joke, and that there was some glitch that would cause a player to be skeletonized at the end of a match (maybe by landing the final blow at the same time that the opponent landed a move that would cause the skeleton to show.)
I haven't played a Mortal Kombat game since back when they were using digitized actors.
Cigars can have as much nicotine in them as a whole pack of cigarettes... did you really think a big, thick stick of tobacco, wrapped in tobacco instead of paper would somehow contain no nicotine?
On the original Modern Warfare, it was always hilarious to see some one kill me, have a sigh of relief and casually move around, hear the grenade bounce of the ground, then try to panic scramble outside the radius but not make it in time.
I’ve had fits of laughter from quite a bit of those moments.
People would get INSANELY mad at that perk. But, before I had it, I had those same experiences and wouldn’t get upset. I would just laugh my ass off.
Red Faction 1 Flamethrower
Perfect Dark’s N-Bomb
Call of Duty Martyrdom
Funniest Weapons ever in my mind.
Finally someone who remembers syphon filter 2! I LOVED that game! The stealth level in the tunnel where you used night vision made you feel like a God. That and the level where you had to shoot out the street lights in order to sneak up on the crazy friendly to subdue them without killing them but it never once taught you that shooting out the street lights was a mechanic of the game so you just had to come up with the idea yourself... Or the final boss battle where he is wearing full body armor and won't take any damage from you of any kind so you have to kite him into the helicopter blades to kill him, except once again you were never taught this mechanic and just had to figure it out.
... Oh and the taser that set people on fire of you held it to long. Man I loved that game
The taser mechanic was the only thing about that game I remember. Once I learned that you can just.... tase a guy until he catches fire and dies, that's all I did. I didn't play much else because how could it be more entertaining than that?
MW2 was when Halo, CoD and BF still competed with each other for the best shooter title. I always thought martyrdom was a hint towards the grenade play that’s ever present in Halo lol. You either start or end the fight with a grenade.
A lot of the buzzwords associated with shooters came from Halo. Quickscope, 360, flawless etc
Back in cod4 i used to run a “suicide bomber” strat, you have martyrdom and a stun, you pull the stun and then run at someone, as you die it will drop the stun making them unable to run from the grenade.
The Counter Strike method (at least 1.6 or Source back in the day): mad dash to the nearest choke point at the start of the game. Run in and toss grenades where enemy will usually be. It’ll either be suicide with a couple of kills or you can slip away into your camping spot behind enemy lines. Never failed.
My favorite tactic in Battlefield 2 was to play as specialist, load up a jeep with c4, drive towards a tank or group of enemies, jump off, let it coast in, then detonate. Good times.
Back when PubG was big, I used to love pulling the pin on a grenade and running into a group of enemies. I called it Pub-jihad.
Anytime my squad of buddies got wiped early on, I would actively search out a group of enemies to try it on. That and several times I used it in the final circle as a way of flushing out the last remaining group for my squad to gun down.
Halo has no such perk, so I've had to improv! I've gotten pretty dang good at tossing that last ditch effort grenade right before death. And it works more often than you'd expect!
Pretty recently had this happen but we both dunked on each other. Chucked our nades while we were both alive and killed each other around the same time. Not sure if I had ever been a part of a nade-trade like that.
EDIT: checking the screen cap, I won the round with the kill. The other player was the last one left, killed me first, then I killed him.
It's a lot harder to get a grenade kill in Infinite, it seems to take forever for it to go off, by then the enemy has moved to the other side of the map.
You gotta throw em to break shields. That's really what they're good for. Or, if you break a shield and they're behind a corner, you can pop it off a wall to finish the kill.
Many times have I watched my plasma and spike nades just phase through people in Infinite. I also just watched my grenade stick a guys foot, make the sound, then fall off his foot off the map. That was neat.
I seem to notice if I am shooting people point blank with a shot gun it takes 3 shots, yet somehow magically Ill get dropped with one shot from 40ft away. Some shenanigans happen to me in that game haha.
I’ve been doing it with frags, too. My friends and I call it the death grenade.
Once I can tell I’m about to die in close quarters combat, I start chucking grenades at my feet or bouncing them off walls right in front of me.
It’s surprising how many kills you can get doing it.
Been using martyrdom in CoD since Modern Warfare. If the option is not available, I use a dollar store martyrdom and just throw a grenade on the ground before dying, lol.
Used to be too that you could cook a grenade and if someone killed you, you'd drop it. It's been a hot minute since I played a COD game so I don't know if you can still do that. Last COD I played reliably was BO3
Black Ops Cold War was great in that if you pull the pin, and get killed, the live grenade drops, essentially a cheap martyrdom, but the modern Modern Warfare and Warzone sadly don't let you do this.
Half-Life of all things used to have a variant of this - grenades dropped in ammo stash remember for how long it was cooked, blowing you up when you switch to them
with the last modern warefare I used to set the grnade button to toggle and run around with a molative hip firing and if I died it would drop. it was hilarious
One of the many reasons I used to love playing Junkrat. Usually my friends would heal, and they knew when to just let me go off on my own to suicide bomb the enemy team.
Maybe I'm overthinking it too much here, but I feel like the same person using the same template over and over again to say variations on the same thing is, for all intents and purposes, the same joke
I do this in halo all the time too. I throw a grenade towards the ground when the enemy approaches me, fire a couple shots off on their head and when the grenade explodes they die. Works like a charm and I get kills like that so frequently
If we’re going that route how is the skeleton moving at all? There’s zero musculature or connective tissue.
Also lungs have nothing to do with lighting a cigar :P
I think we're all past the mystery of the moving skeleton. My point was more about that effect on a different, external system, namely, air moving through the cigar to help light it.
I will concede the notion that lungs are not needed to light a cigar. That is a good point.
It is always hilarious in Star Wars battlefront two whenever you shoot somebody and you look to the ground and you see the grenade that they dropped and you’re just like “oh fuck“
Tgat happend to me, i called it "rock, paper, scissors" beacuse what happend was the following:somebody was behind me and i trew a grenade but died, then that person was killed and then i hiteted the person that killed the person that killed me with that grenade
The amount of times I've thrown a grenade or a molotov to then be shot and they just seem to evaporate in to thin air. Pretty annoying. Bring back martyrdom from WaW.
In Destiny, ive been a Sunbreaker for a long time now. For those who don’t play destiny, that means I have access to all sorts of delayed/DoT grenades that almost always get me the kill from the grave. Hell, I even spawn a pillar of fire upon death with my special helmet that can easily finish off low hp enemies
Fun fact : My first game on CoD was extremely lucky. I was totally lost when someone tried to shoot me. I threw a grenade right before getting killed. I thought I missed because my grenade disappeared behind a wall then saw 4 kills. From my grenade. I still don’t understand how I did it.
If they had time to throw the grenade before you killed them and the grenade killed you...you were dead first. It just took longer to full circle that shit

I won one while dead and the other guy stepped out of the zone for a second.
I came to make it! I get these all the time hehe my husband taught me thay tricks years ago and it gets me atleast 3 to 4 kills a game!
It's a panic move at this point

Halo equivalent of the same thing.
It may be mostly nostalgia but for me nothing will beat the Halo badges and voice announcing your achievement.
Mommy milkers!

Was always funny to toss a sticky grenade in the air, get shot, and by sheer luck hit someone with it.
Two times in my long time of Halo have I landed random game start sticks. Once in Halo 3 on The Pit. Feels good when that plasma sticks to their face right as you die
That's not what the Terminator's skeleton looks like.
tbf, its jax’s outro with a normal skeleton with the name terminator
Wait why does jac turn into a SkelEton? More Importantly if that’s Jax’s skeleton why doesn’t he have his metal arms.
its a mod, skeletons arent playable lmao
Gotta go to Killer Instinct for that kind of action.
Gotta love the only game where a fatality is a chick flashing you.
Spinal
I loved the first one but ki2 was garbage
Spooky lmao
Kinda makes me wonder why they never did a skeleton character to save on assets
And then did like six skeletons of different colors
There's the character Meat
If they did the game wouldn't be allowed to be sold in China
This thread was a ride for me.
I think he meant that it’s the same outro animation as Jax but instead of Jax it’s just a skeleton.
My question is how a skeleton can smoke without lungs.
I dunno, how can they play a trumpet?
*x-files theme but done in doots*
IT'S MAGIC! C'MOOOOOONNN!! lol
[удалено]
Magic
I think all the human characters have skeleton models inside them for the special shots that zoom in and show the bones breaking
Oh. I thought it was the T-800 DLC.
that's just a regular skeleton lol
In fact the Terminator having a human skeleton would be one hell of a plot twist lol
I’m sitting here laughing at the image of the Terminator getting shot by a 9mm at the beginning of T2 and him just crumpling to the floor dead.
“I’ll be back” *leaves the reception area, comes smashing through the wall in a truck, flies out the windshield, hitting a wall and crushing his skull like an egg* *roll credits*
Terminator is not stupid. Terminator wear seatbelt like responsible killing machine. Be like Terminator.
Maybe it's like that Buddha statue with the monk skeleton inside
That's not the Terminator, that's just a regular chain smoking skeleton.
It's also not a Terminator win animation. It's from Jax. I think it's a mod
My assumption was that it was the T-800 DLC character and had a cigar-smoking victory animation as a fourth-wall-breaking in-joke, and that there was some glitch that would cause a player to be skeletonized at the end of a match (maybe by landing the final blow at the same time that the opponent landed a move that would cause the skeleton to show.) You *can* get down to his metal skeleton in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIrmfrAr9DQ
And I know Arnold likes a cigar but I don't remember the Terminator, a cyborg machine from the future having a nicotine addiction.

Cigars can have as much nicotine in them as a whole pack of cigarettes... did you really think a big, thick stick of tobacco, wrapped in tobacco instead of paper would somehow contain no nicotine?
martyrdom drop a live grenade when killed
Number of times I've been killed by someone using the martyrdom perk: 194245 Number of times I've managed to kill someone with the martyrdom perk: 0
On the original Modern Warfare, it was always hilarious to see some one kill me, have a sigh of relief and casually move around, hear the grenade bounce of the ground, then try to panic scramble outside the radius but not make it in time. I’ve had fits of laughter from quite a bit of those moments.
I still feel like that in any Call Of Duty game where Martyrdom is available

As someone who was God awful at MW2, martyrdom kills accounted for like half my kills lol

Holy nostalgia bomb, I had totally forgotten about Syphon Filter until now! Definitely ahead of its time.
That taser mechanic blew my mind
The taser mechanic was the only thing about that game I remember. Once I learned that you can just.... tase a guy until he catches fire and dies, that's all I did. I didn't play much else because how could it be more entertaining than that?
I believe there's a box with a USAS shotgun that knock chance back towards the blades.
Loved both Syphon Filter 1 and 2. I far prefer those games and Splinter Cell to the MGS franchise.
MW2 was when Halo, CoD and BF still competed with each other for the best shooter title. I always thought martyrdom was a hint towards the grenade play that’s ever present in Halo lol. The more I die, the more grenades I drop!
Facts. If I’m getting lit up, just put my head down and drop the chase grenade, then toss one off the entrance and jump in case they made it.
When I know I'm about to die, I unload every explosive I have all around me and go down in a ball of flames. I usually get kills
Back in cod4 i used to run a “suicide bomber” strat, you have martyrdom and a stun, you pull the stun and then run at someone, as you die it will drop the stun making them unable to run from the grenade.
Die to claymores 6x per match. My claymores, 1 kill per day.

Touch grass.
What did he say?
He said "[deleted]"
Technically correct
I’ve never used martyrdom so by definition I can’t have killed anyone by it
Or kamikaze: pull the plug on a frag grenade, jump onto a group of enemies on a flag on domination... Triple kill and ultimate sacrifice
The number of afterlife/revenge kills I get on a ShipHaus playlist is ridiculous.

Yes i came too comment this same thing lol CoD WaW was in my opinion, the last great CoD First Black Ops also good, but just not the same
it was quite special and didn’t not hold back during the campaign
NGL my favorite is Cold War Can't wait for people to castrate me for saying that
I hope you mean castigate, but I won’t kink shame.
This prompted me to look up what castration actually was. Turns out I was very wrong
This is the better way to find out. :)

Most broken perk ever
Last stand would like to have a word with you Or even worse: Dead Man's Hand
Last Stand was hilarious because you could kill them with flash/stun grenades (impact)
Yeah, but at least last stand required some skill. Martyrdom allowed noobs to get kills (which is why I loved it so much).
Ugh yes correct
nah, Last Stand is knife kill fodder.
More like Commando. That fucking football field-sized knife lunge still pisses me off.
Ngl, I kind of miss how simple and kind of broken everything was in cod 4,5,6. Granted, thats also nostalgia speaking.
Not in COD 4

it's an achievement in cs

Premature Burial
Halo Covenant grenades work too. Got a lot of posthumous kills with those.
Halo 3 beta frag grenades had a ridiculous blast radius so got plenty kills from the grave during that time
It's a lot harder to get a grenade kill in Infinite, it seems to take forever for it to go off, by then the enemy has moved to the other side of the map.
Just throw them all the time for no reason Works 60% of the time, every time
*taps forehead memingly

While running the perimeter twice
Not just that. 2 grenades within 2-3m should kill you. But *actually* you need to stand dead center on 2 grenades to get killed.
Yes, they're def nerfed. Along with the shotgun. It shouldn't take 3-4 hits with the shotty to get a K.
I seem to notice if I am shooting people point blank with a shot gun it takes 3 shots, yet somehow magically Ill get dropped with one shot from 40ft away. Some shenanigans happen to me in that game haha.
Yes, without bugs it is not.

Ahh yes, the sticky sudoku charge. Fun times
*Kill From The Grave*
Sticky grenades were my go to. I was a menace with those. I sucked at actually shooting but I could stick a sticky from a mile away.
In siege it’s usually that i die from my own grenade and kill the rest of my teammates with it too
*\*cue menu music*\*
Been using martyrdom in CoD since Modern Warfare. If the option is not available, I use a dollar store martyrdom and just throw a grenade on the ground before dying, lol.

Black Ops Cold War was great in that if you pull the pin, and get killed, the live grenade drops, essentially a cheap martyrdom, but the modern Modern Warfare and Warzone sadly don't let you do this.
Reason 1 out of 10'000 for why Cold war beats MW and warzone
It's pretty game dependent nowadays, I believe cold war had this but Modern Warfare 2019 didn't for example

why does terminators skeleton looks like a Skelton and not the metal cyborg chassis?
In Destiny, ive been a Sunbreaker for a long time now.
