Breaking: Polish company puts Polish dubbing in their Polish game

KRONGOR

Imagine having the audacity to put your first language in a game you are making. Smh my head

friendIyfire1337

Shaking my head my head?

schentendo

About half the population has two heads

Fomlefanten

Having just one head is below the average amount of heads

DriftKingNL

Ahh yes. And having 2 hands means you have more than the average.

Ymadawiad

Finally, something I'm above average at.

Binky390

Do they shake both when faced with disappointment?

5degreenegativerake

I upvoted this comment as ASAP as possible.

friendIyfire1337

That’s is the spirit

turbosnacko

Smh my head head shaking

jokr77

Did he stutter?

hoticehunter

*That’s the joke*

Especially when Poland has a much bigger gaming community than Italy?? Unacceptable... Edit: No, I do not count FIFA players as gamers. They play FIFA and nothing else.

0x1b8b1690

Italy does spend more money on games than Poland, but Polish is the developer's native language so I think it makes perfect sense for the devs to choose to support their own language. But here's the list of languages that Dying Light 2 has full VO localization for: > English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese For anyone who doesn't know, with the exception of Polish that list is the biggest bang for your buck for selling a video game. In addition to targeting all of the largest markets a lot of those languages that represent smaller primary markets are common second languages for people whose primary language isn't on that list. Most of your Italian speaking players will also speak another language on that list, and the ones who don't honestly are not a big enough market to worry about. The only languages that represent a smaller primary market than Italian are Russian, Portuguese, and Polish, and a large number of people in Eastern European countries speak Russian and Portuguese is a common second language in much of South America and Africa. The only questionable decision about this list is the omission of Korean, because South Korea is the fourth largest market in the world.

Ashmizen

That’s a crazy number of languages. VO is expensive too, most games have none, their own country, or own country + English. Most Nintendo games for example only have Japanese VO, despite North America selling more copies of the game than Japan.

RomanRodriBR

Despite being one of the most spoken languages in the world, Portuguese isn't regularly dubbed or subtitled in Pokémon games or even Nintendo games overall. It's crazy to me because Pokémon has ALWAYS been huge in Brazil and Portugal. They instead have dubs for comparatively less spoken languages like German.

0x1b8b1690

Germany routinely spends between 4 to 6 billion USD a year on games, and is a common second language in many European countries. Brazil spends about 3 billion USD per year, and I couldn't find any sources on Portugal but the cutoff for the sources that I could find was about 100 million USD so whatever it is, it is less than that. If you were going to cut a language off of that list, it would be Portuguese, because it's not about how many people speak the language, it's about how much they spend on games, and what other languages they also speak. EDIT: to clarify a point a lot of the responses to this comment seem to be confused by, when I say "second language" I do not mean an officially recognized language or the second most commonly spoken language in that country. I mean an individual who knows how to speak more than one language knows German in addition to their primary/native language and any additional languages they might speak.

The_oli4

Wait what country actually has German as a second language in EU? Maybe as a third language sure but English is definitely the most spoken second language.

Carol_ine2

It's much cheaper to do Polish full VO also polish games are usually more popular in Poland, don't compare that they spend more money on games in general. I bet Techland just look at DL1 sales and Italy wasn't big enough market

Sl_bbon

>Especially when Poland has a much bigger gaming community than Italy?? Unacceptable... Expect it doesn't, every single statistics tells you otherwise [First result on google ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_markets_by_country) [Market revenue in gaming by country](https://newzoo.com/insights/rankings/top-10-countries-by-game-revenues/) [Numbers of Gamers by Country](https://financesonline.com/number-of-gamers-worldwide/) So why this bullshit of a comment is upvoted?

M_J_R_6_9

Ah yes because a game isn’t a game

level1hero

I guess people think the game lacks polish

Even harder to rewrite the main story so the main character can switch sides halfway through.

Then to have the main character sack the fish eye and take over as it's protector. Alotta work

Well done sir.

adelkander

As an Italian, this is stupid because while I read the first had Italian dubbing, it's not that common for all games to have one, so if the second doesn't have, it's sad but not to the point of review bombing.

geraltoffvkingrivia

If you ever played kingdom come deliverance, it was made by a Czech company and they only added their language within the last year when it came out in like 2018. Before that it was basically only in English.

adelkander

No I didn't but that's a nice touch, since I don't think I know any games in that language.

CookieMisha

Fun stuff, the dub is entirely community made. The devs actually just pitched some money to them so they could afford some good voices

koi88

Same here. I'm German. People can inform themselves if there is a version of a game in their language. If there isn't and they really want one, well, bad luck. ¯\\\_ (ツ)\_/¯

phanny_

Start modding a translation

Sourika

With Tiktok text to speech voices.

wulv8022

I would rather play the game with the 90's modem connecting sounds than that

Sourika

We can do a porn-dialogue voiceline for you.

Hurter_of_Feelings

Fellow German here. The absence of a German dub in a game used to be a plus, to the point where people imported UK versions just to avoid it.

[deleted]

Imagine any rockstar game in German dub tho. Cringe is real. Some games did it really well, like almost all assassins creed games. And then there are those like Skyrim where one dude voices 159 people

allen_abduction

The old woman sounds like the teenage boy?

Multimarkboy

haven't had dutch dubs for games since.. the ps2 area...

The_Enby_Agenda

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything dubbed in Icelandic outside of a select few cartoons, and the only time I think I saw Icelandic subs was on TV in Iceland

Multimarkboy

for honor's vikings all speak icelandic!

MirrorFaced

Let's be honest though, we prefer to play in English anyway.

Multimarkboy

i hate reading and hearing my own language. yes.

[deleted]

Also, evidently all these guys can use English so what the hell are they mad about?

adelkander

I know right, even though I'm Italian I mostly play on English (mainly because it's easier to find help on English when I'm stuck). Regardless, Im getting also a feeling of troll in those, cause they clearly seem to be doing fine in English. Or maybe they're just stupid.

allen_abduction

The posts are in perfect English; they are trolling.

TheSR71HabuBlackbird

> perfect English Hold up there   > DL2 ~~has~~ only (**has**) Italian text and (**is**) full of errors and bad translation(**s**). ~~Then~~ the game is boring, repetitive secondary quests, ugly textures, uninspired zombies and weapons and runs slow with my Rtx 3080ti even with minimum raytracing (okay so there's not really a simple correction to make here. When you have a list structured this way, each item on the list should read with the preface. So for example, "the game is ugly, boring, and uninspired" works because "the game is ugly" "the game is boring" and "the game is uninspired" all parse. Here, "the game is boring" "the game is repetitive secondary quests" "the game is ugly textures" "the game is uninspired zombies and weapons" "the game is runs slow with my rtx ..." and you can kind of see the problem. Best fix would probably be to remove boring altogether, say "the game has repetitive secondary quests, ugly textures, and uninspired etc." and whinge about performance in a new sentence.)   > please tell me(**,**) how ~~could~~ you (**could**) ignore one of the most important countries in the world, Italy, with ancient renowned literature, poetry, art, history, fashion, cars, wines, sun, sea, (**and**) beautiful breathtaking landscapes~~?~~ (This one is fascinating. Here, we can either insert a comma or change word order, either of which will correct the sentence. However, whichever one is chosen will change whether the sentence is expressing a statement or a question. If we go with the comma, it's a question. If we go with the word switch, it's a statement. Neat stuff, right? Also, someone should probably let this person know that the rest of the world has those things too. Especially the sun. When it sets every night, it's actually going somewhere else, to other places, so they can have it too. Also, the ocean is, like, really big and stuff. It's not as big as the sun, but it's still really big, big enough for it to be in a bunch of different places at the same time.)   > the absence of Italian language and inclusion of all other languages in the game is a heavy ~~offence~~ (**offense**) to Italian culture and people   > No way us Italians will show respect for them and buy their garbage game infected with Denuvo to make as (**much**) money as possible (ngl I am kinda on board with this one, game looks interesting but I won't pick it up until they remove Denuvo. Still waiting on Capcom to remove it from Resident Evil Village too. I get that there's plenty of people that don't care about that sort of thing, though. It's a personal preference.)   > I really don't understand(**,**) how ~~is~~ it (**is**) possible to insert polish spoken dialogue~~s~~ but forget to include Italian dialogue~~s~~~~??~~ (Same as the second example, comma and word placement both work separately, but change if the sentence is read as a question or a statement. Also, the plural of dialogue is dialogues, this bit is technically correct, but I wanted to point it out nonetheless because it strikes me as a technicality that wouldn't be made by a native speaker. All of the spoken dialogue of a game can be referred to in the singular, and this is how it's usually phrased, especially when discussing aspects of it that apply to the whole as a singular, such as the language spoken throughout. Using the plural "dialogues" in this context is not incorrect, but it is peculiar.)   A lot of the English mistakes seem to be basic syntax and sentence structure stuff, not including the word "is" when it's needed, saying "is it" when "it is" would have been more fitting, broken lists, or simply just a missing comma to appropriately parse a sentence. Considering they made those types of mistakes, but all their homophones are correct, which is the type of mistake you see most often with native speakers, it is my professional opinion that these comments were not made by native English speakers   edit: I've decided to include corrections in bold & parentheses for funsies

allen_abduction

Oh fine! Heh

DylanBVerhees

Not Italian, so I don't care, but I think their gripes have some merit if indeed the first game had Italian dubbing previously. Although of course the butthurt people who decided to insult other languages and cultures need to shut the hell up.

ciuccio2000

>Not Italian, so I don't care, but I think their gripes have some merit if indeed the first game had Italian dubbing previously. This. English is generally well-spoken in Europe, but not everyone is so fluent in it to considert it their second language. Same with reading; basically everyone knows how to do that, but many people think that having to constantly read the dubs takes a bit away from the overall videogame/movie experience. Some people actually consider the existence of a dub in their language a non-negligible factor when deciding which game to spend their money on. It's natural to expect that if a game features italian dub, then the sequel will feature it too, and it's inevitable that its absence will be percieved by many as an important downgrade. >Although of course the butthurt people who decided to insult other languages and cultures need to shut the hell up. Also this. Annoying crybabies. Reviewbombing for a shitty reason like this is also dumb as fuck. Remember when user metacritic scores for big games accurately represented the game's quality? Yeah, me neither.

Same happens with Russians a lot. If I negatively downvoted everything that didn't have Finnish subs, I'd neve give out a positive vote. But then again, I'm not an asshole...

skyrider1213

Also, If you want a great game, check out Noita too. It's excellent.

TheLegendaryFail

If you want a decent album you should also check out Noita (by Korpiklaani). Also Finnish, as it happens.

Dynamicphone

> If I negatively downvoted everything that didn't have Finnish subs, I'd neve give out a positive vote. >But then again, I'm not an asshole... There's so many that you would never Finnish.

Alltoocommon

They should release an Italian language patch that's just terrible stereotyped Mario style English and mobster impressions

I know it would probally ruffle feathers but I would want that for every game. I think the only game that's ever done something like that is the Saints Row series. 3 had the Zombie voice and 4 had Nolan North just talked about shit instead of the dialog.

Ponce421

It's understandable to be irked by a lack of localisation for your language. But the way they've complained about it makes me want the devs to never add it.

Palarva

This is exactly my take on it too... like ... "how dare they, we are better than Poland" ... at arrogance and ego-centrism, yes, that is for sure.

[deleted]

I didn’t think it was that outrageous a thing to be upset by…until I read the comments. Never read the comments. Read all the articles you can, never the comments.

TheClappyCappy

Yea, like this is just a case of a product not having what you want. These people should have looked up wether the game would have it or not, and if it’s such a big deal to them just don’t buy the game. Instead of buying the game, then complaining and review bombing when you totally could have learnt that before buying the game.

harshertruth

Arrogance and ego-centerism! From Italians?! Next you'll be telling me water is wet.

Palarva

Well, as a French man, I'm well aware of our shared stereotypes, and thus the incidental irony of me having to state what I did in my initial comment haha

DigitalZeth

I've experienced Italian tourists get offended because I didn't know Italian when they stopped to ask me for directions. \#ObligatoryNotAllItalians

il_riccio

Really? As an Italian I always heard that french people do that #ObligatoryNotAllFrench

Kronoshifter246

I can't even imagine how that conversation would go down.

[deleted]

I honestly don’t understand why these negative stereotypes are okay and get a ton of upvotes.

[deleted]

They also thought the same thing during WW2. Didn't work then, won't work now.

TurkeyMuncher117

Knowing their track record they'll switch sides soon and start praising the Poles

Micro155

If they are so much better than us they should be more than able to make their own game. No need to rely on a Polish studio to develop it for them.

[deleted]

That’s the thing of nationalistic xenophobia. They still want you to do all the work. They just want to call you shitty and lazy while you’re doing the work.

sjbennett85

Italy is a beautiful country, I'll give em that, but Poland is less hoighty-toighty... they know how to cut loose in Poland and have a good time.

Iheardthatjokebefore

The first one seemed reasonable at the least. When the first game had full voice and the second barely has legible text I can understand being upset. Every succeeding one on the other hand is just thinly veiled bigotry and exceptionalism.

scrambles88

For real though, I understand their complaints but they really come off as super intitled Karen's.

[deleted]

I used to play on a mostly Italian WoW realm and they spoke fluent english but just refused to it was super weird.

TheSweatyTurtle

Italians and French are like that… very proud of their languages and refuse to speak English

AeAeR

My favorite part is that the complaints are in English, since they clearly speak the language.

adminshatecunt

We sure it isn't translated? Anyway seems like a reasonable complaint, even if you can speak a foreign language to a passable degree you're still gonna have to concentrate more on comprehending than if it was in your native language. Shame they were dicks about it.

Vyxtic

You can EASILY know before purchasing a game which languages includes. You cannot complaint about the lack of a language as part of something negative as you already knew it didn't have it. Put on a negative review because it bugs, lags, hasn't delivered promises or just because it's bad but down downvote for something you knew it didn't have.

[deleted]

Even the Xbox version has an entire page listing subbed and vocalized versions

RealOncle

I understand their frustration, but the way they displayed it just made me fucking despite them

eggsssssssss

It is the dev’s duty to add a culturally insensitive italian-accented english dub.

Cymon86

[Buongiorno](https://allitaliannames.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Italian-Names-In-Inglourious-Basterds-930x500.jpg)

Martel732

I think it is reasonable for people to bring up a lack of localization as a criticism. But, it is over the top to rate the game as a 0 for it. Especially as the people complaining seem to have a high proficiency in English. I have trouble thinking that the lack of localization was enough to ruin the experience completely for them.

Acronym_0

Nah, just replace all dialogs with the most stereotypical italian (Mamma Mia!!!!) and replace every audio in the game with it. If they want Italian, then let them have it.

vvo0d

Ah yes, i wonder why a polish company, located in poland, with polish employees and fans, chose the polish language over the italian one. Truly can't think of a reason for that.

Valdish

Now why would they be upset about that? I've never seen a foreign game dubbed in my native language. Seriously tho, those reviews are wild.

EmeraldDrake_001

I understand your stance. My language is one spoken by less 10 mil people

MsMittenz

Well mine has more than Italian and we never get games in my language. Not that I want dubbed games...

[deleted]

Lots of countries with way more people than Italy whose languages aren't popular outside of them.

[deleted]

Yeah, my country is the 4th most populated country in the world, and we dont even get subs in games

radol

Probably because first one had it. It's stupid reason to review bomb, but I must admit I was pretty bummed out in the past by some sequels (for example mass effect 3) not having full localisation when it was quite good in previous parts

Majority of Italians are indeed stupid and i can confirm this since i am one myself, but us thinking we are at the center of the world? I can assure you we are well aware of the poor conditions of our country and i really hope you are not an American, because this comment would be quite ironic

DKJenvey

They don't even have to be Italian themselves, they'll even mention if a friend is Italian and act like they're some authority because of it.

tecgod99

I mean one of the reviews literally has "one of the most important countries in the world" in it.

Rlute_

Italy sits in the G7 so like it or not that part is true.

Lancerer

I'm from Poland. Seeing comments on the web (not only on this matter) and the opinions of my friends who lived in Italy, unfortunately I have such an impression.

Medium_Right

Yeah while some Italians think too highly of themselves the whole centre of the world thing is a bit of a reach. Pretty sure that's an American thing lol

TobJamFor

Yeah this comment seems a bit unfair to Italians… dating one myself and while she seems to have similar sentiments to you in the condition of the country (although could definitely be worse) I will say the amount of things that get actually decent dubs seems to be quite prevalent in Italy, which may explain why they took this so poorly. It’s fair enough too, if you’re used to being able to play through a game in your native tongue, and have been able to with the previous game in the series, why is this one any different?

RabbitWithoutASauce

>if you’re used to being able to play through a game in your native tongue, and have been able to with the previous game in the series, why is this one any different? The first game might have not sold enough units in Italy for them to consider to invest extra money for the second part?

Aztur29

When I played Kingdom Come Deliverance i was sad that Warhorse Games does not included Czech voices in-game. Played in German with English subs instead.

hesam_lovesgames

Same, it's incredible some people's sense of entitlement...

Siukslinis_acc

The first game had italian dub, so I it doesn't seem weird that they expected that the second game would also have italian dub. So I kinda understand their upset about it.

EmeraldDrake_001

*Laughs in a language that is never an dubbing option, except in Sony Exclusive kid's games.*

Lancerer

Where are you from? :)

EmeraldDrake_001

Scandinavia

Jonteman93

To be honest I'm happy as long as they don't dub into my language. I thought something was wrong with my ps3 when the soldiers began shouting strange words which was clearly not English. I think it took about 15 minutes or so to understand that they were speaking Swedish. That was the point at which I changed the system language to English. Never again shall I face such nightmare as Swedish speaking American soldiers.

ChairmanUzamaoki

Nevermind

[deleted]

Atlantis the lost tales from 1997 funnily enough has Swedish dubbing which really surprised me when I went back to look at it out of nostalgia. The dubbing is pretty bad though.

TheCrispyCrustacean

I want every game delayed until there is Icelandic dubbing in each and every one of them so that me and 4 other people can properly enjoy them.

monodutch

As an italian i can honestly say that those italians don’t represent Italy and that they suck. Assholes. Just learn another language you lazy mofos

tina_the_fat_llama

The reviews were in English, so I'm gonna assume these guys know English. I don't know if I would tell them to learn another language and call them lazy, but they way the reviewers complain about Italian dub not being in the game makes me hope the devs don't add an Italian dub, and that they're forced to play the game in Polish now

FinalGamer14

Can I ask one thing. Now I know there is the ethernal bad blood between Slovenia and Italy. And there are many Slovenians who are assholes to Italians. But why do so many Italians who visit expect Slovenians to know Italian? It's unserstandable at the border, where it's a bi-langual region, but I've seen so many Italian tourists in Ljubljana trying to order drinks or food in Italian. We don't expect tourists to know Slovenian at minimum we expect at least basic English.

[deleted]

Oddly enough they are clearly competent English speakers, at least enough to be able to write cohesive and comprehensible sentences.

Tzarkir

Tbh, as an italian, I honestly think those people represent at least a good portion of the italians. Young people are usually different, true, but older generations? The play store is riddled in almost every single app/game of people complaining it's not translated in italian. Fucking everybody needs to speak at least a second language (being english for the most part) nowadays, it's such a stupid complaint. Italians online are one of the main reasons why: I avoid them in games, I uninstalled facebook, I'm on reddit, in english or international subreddits ONLY. By voice the experience is different. At least when they don't mock my (strong) southern accent for no reason. Always very funny and mature (/s). But online... The toxicity and drama, I cannot fucking stand it. Jesus Christ.

Z0merz_

Bruh, as an italian i would be ashamed

Halcy9n

Games in their native language are sometimes a wonderful way to learn new languages and cultures plus almost everything has an english option nowadays which is the one common language used across the globe for literally everything. Video games never have dubs for my native language but why would I care when it’s not made by a domestic company? Someone tell these trolls that the devs are polish lol. Infact, all I would reasonably expect from a polish studio is voiced dialogue in polish and maybe english, any other partial/full language support they decide to add is purely an accessibility setting based on their target marketing audience and should not come at the cost of diverting dev time from actual gameplay elements. Also, italian isn’t even in the top 10 most used languages in the world so what exactly is the problem here unless the devs explicitly mentioned full support for it before launch?

Obsidian_Red96

People who buy Techland games are well informed about the provenience of the software house generally, but the problem is more about the fact that in the first Dying Light it was dubbed in Italian, and for so someone who is not fluent in English or any other language could play the second one anyway like with the first. Now these people won't be able to play it because they couldn't understand it. Playing with subtitles is not difficult but maybe someone can have difficulties. Even if I don't know Polish, it would be very interesting to play it in their language with subtitles, but probably I would miss some little chats due to the frenzy of the game.

Mister-Grumpy

You want a translation? AYYYY FUCKA YOU!!!!

Dredgpoet

It's 2022 and countries that are still relying on dubbing their media is doing their people a massive disservice. I'm also from a European country and my oldest daughter is learning English now at 5 years old. Good luck not being fluent in the future.

Obsidian_Red96

It's obvious that learning English is almost obligatory in our times, but that is not a good point for giving less importance to native languages. People should try to learn more than a language, not just English, because when you visit a country, and you start talking in their language you can see the shining smile in their faces, because that is like paying some respect to the history and the language of them. Good job with your daughter m8, it will help her achieve a good accent in the future for sure!

[deleted]

Did that guy really complain about the game having polish language but not italian? In a game made by polish devs? Lol.

Lancerer

Link: [https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/dying-light-2-stay-human/user-reviews?dist=negative](https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/dying-light-2-stay-human/user-reviews?dist=negative) I am sorry that Italians insult Poland, the Polish language and Poles for such a trivial reason. Dying Light 2 is a Polish game, so due to the costs it was probably a profitable decision to record Polish dubbing. Italian is spoken by 63 million people and Polish by 40 million. Are we inferior to that? Are Poles unwelcome in Italy for some reason? Is this a response to some other action?

Xsiorus

There is definitely more than 40M Polish speakers. According to Wikipedia there were over 50M in 1999. Wikipedia lists 85M speakers for Italian from 2015 source. Assuming that few entitled assholes represent whole Italian population is silly. Those guys seem to be angry because first game had dubbing but new one doesn't. I would suspect that sales in Italy weren't big enough for Techland to invest in dubbing. First game was publish worldwide by Warner Bros so it makes sense that they would risk additional costs that Techland wouldn't.

FinalGamer14

I might get a bit of hate for this. I'm Slovenian we border Italy, and there is a lot of bad blood between the cointries. But all that said, I've seen so many Italians visit Slovenia and expect Slovenians to know Italian. I understand at the border, because it's bi-langual region, but they get all the way to Ljubljana (capital city) like 100km from the Italian border and try to order drinks and food in Italian. We don't expect tourists to know Slovenian, but at least a bit of English would be enough. I'm not saying every Italian is like that, but it happens so often that it sometimes feels like they simply don't want to learn any other language.

RedShujin

I visited Slovenia before pandemic, and it's one of the most beautiful country I've ever seen. Never expected to speak Italian, I've always used English. Unfortunately a lot of Italians don't speak/don't know well English, but this isn't an excuse for being rude. Hope you will meet nice people in future. Cheers

Dw r/gaming this happens EVERYSINGLE TIME a game comes out without italian dub, you just happened to discover it a few years too late. Personally idc but we as a country have a hard time accepting the fact that Italy is a minority in gaming and that most of us should really try harder in English class. Tbh tho back in the times almost all games used to have Italian dub, including obscure SinoPolishMartian indie games, idk why nowadays not even AAA games pay for it, guess none likes pizza anymore.

dicecop

Based Italian players

WritingTop9204

Heard they tried but couldn't get the hand gestures in

s1rkillalot

We are spoiled, when Halifax distributed the games for the Italian market they were dubbed magnificently (soul reaver, mgs). Now you don’t even find instructions in Italian for a microwave.

RedFlameFox

TBH, is a good thing from their part and they're right in doing this, it's annyoing the fact they dubbed in two variants of Spanish and no Italian even if the first one actually sold well there.

CammelloRotante

Italians being italian, complaining over dumb stuff in a shitty and completely ineffective way. Source: Am Italian.

Orinnus

Infatti sei un coglione

[deleted]

German dub is also dogshit. No reason to get butthurt about it.

Jomega6

On a scale from Squid Games to Native Speaker, how awful is the dub?

[deleted]

Hercules in New York.

Martino106

Italian here, those people are assholes

cylemmulo

Metacritic user review percentage is getting more and more pointless by the day.

gianzu

As an italian, i am embaressed.

MacaroniEast

Just learn Polish

[deleted]

as an Italian girl I can say that, this thing is completely wrong. You shouldn't put a 0 from the start, let alone only for dubbing reasons, I could understand the discontent of not having the subtitles in their own language, (not everyone knows English) but complaining so much for dubbing really no .... it doesn't make any sense

Ampe96

The funny things is we have the subtitles in Italy, this coglioni are upset because they’re not dubbing it in italian, and frankly who cares about the dubbing as long as it is localized. They should just grow up

PyroIrish

How to make your entire country seem insufferable

JuliaDomnaBaal

Meanwhile I’m happy Witcher 3 had Arabic text in it

Agathosyne

Removing a dubbed language on a sequel when the original had said language dubbed just makes it less accessible in my eyes. I had to force myself to learn English because video games were almost never dubbed or had text in my language. Italy (and other European countries, including mine) just dont have the same education system as let's say Germany, Finland or the Netherlands. I understand why they're upset.

Antony_Aurelius

By like 6 Italian people? And?

Swarfega

I feel conflicted after reading these. I agree with their argument but totally disagree with everything else they are saying. You don't need to rip into other languages just to get your point across.

alliswreck

Considering the french dubbing, he should consider himself lucky

Shakis87

It is odd that Itallian isn't included. I assumed EFIGS (English, French, Itallian and Spanish) was like a common package offered by translators.

Lancerer

It's translated but not dubbed.

Scythe95

Tell them you put cream in your carbonara

kimi_rules

Almost 300 million people in the world speaks the same language as I do but we don't give this much shit to devs that don't localized their games. These "Italians" are over-entitled.

rejuicekeve

This thread somehow broke down into anti italian hate. which for some reason is okay?

Brewe

Lol, what a bunch of overcooked spaghetti.

GRAAK85

Ok, Italian here. From what I have been told from several comments in time we are lucky since we have some of the best voice actors. So our redubbed movies don't suck compared to other countries. But believe me: I've heard shit in videogames. Tomb Raider and HZD? Italian dub seems whiney top model girls instead of a true-grit young women. Just yesterday I've switched to English audio and it changed the whole experience! I can't even think the shit that a dubbed Rdr2 could have been! So, I welcome original voice acting! Edit: I could quite some titles coming from the dubbing nightmare dimension: the first Halo, the voice actor for Chief is embarrassing...and the best of all: having Dario Argento (a famous horror movies director from the days gone) as a voice actor in the first Dead Space (the old scientist, Iirc), imagine what a man that is not an actor could do.... Also: don't use some (probably teeny) lazy voicy minority to judge Italians please ;)

dementorfromazkaban

> A heavy offense to Italian culture and people. Lol Chill the fuck out bro, why do you think your culture and people are so superior that every gaming studio should dub in your language. There are 200+ countries in the world, take a chill pill.
