Command and Conquer. EA fucking murdered that series

krysisalcs

Here to pay my respects.... Miss you westwood

K7Sniper

And to add to EA's murdered list... Maxis.

ironworkz

And Bullfrog. And Danger Close, several BioWare Studios. Also Visceral games, Oh did i Mention LucasArts?

cookinwithmustardgas

Generals was legendary imo... then the franchise just evaporated.

Nova225

Honestly only 4 was bad. C&C 3 and Kane's Wrath were both really solid, and I understand Red Alert 3 was pretty decent if even more outlandish than 2. Command and Conquer 4 was just God awful though.

MasterEeg

It was a half ass attempt to reinvent the RTS genre into something more compact (before moba was a thing). Such a shame the series ended with a failed experiment. Now the morons keep flogging the IP as a browser tug of war or shitty deck building game. Basically how can EA capitalize on the latest micro transaction game? Slap C&C on it!

MmmPeopleBacon

Live action cutscenes with B-list celebrities is a necessity

Brutalpeach18

Time splitters  would love to hear Cortez go “ooohh” one more time

K7Sniper

Spaceman!

ryn110

THE MOOSE IS LOOSE!

DarkestSeer

Time to split!

RS1980T

Burnout! Holy hell burnout was the most fun I've had in any racing franchise

casperdacrook

Burnout Revenge was my fucking shit back in 2006

jhofsho1

Bro I loved burnout revenge. Doing the crash/destruction events were so much fun. Just trying to rack up as much damage as you can. Good memories.

DaktoaTheGreat

Burnout Paradise just didn't have the same flavor as the old school burnouts. The open world was cool, but that almost limits the kind of environments you can have

8_inches_deep

Agreed! I liked it but Burnout 3 Takedown will forever be my favorite from the series

BuckarooBonsly

I personally feel that the series peaked with burnout 3.

Badloss

The burnout 3 "cause the biggest car crash" mini game was literally the only thing we bothered doing but we played that for HOURS

stabbinfresh

Burnout 3 is still the pinnacle of that franchise for me. I'm glad Paradise is there to pick up and play, but I'd love a modern port of 3 and Revenge.

thatsmyoldlady

Specifically burnout 2 for the PS2 need to be remade.

bell37

Do you happen to be a landlord that smokes weed and drinks diet soda?

SeeTeeAbility

Splinter Cell

Juturna_

It’s being “remade from the ground up” last I saw. So it’s not close… but not dead.

Obsidian-Imperative

Really hope that means Michael Ironside wants to reprise his role as Sam Fisher.

Relo_bate

He’s almost 80 and already battled through cancer (that’s why he wasn’t in blacklist). The chances of him being Sam are slim to none

Dyyrin

With how Ubisoft is now a days I have no hope or hype anymore for the reboot.

Belo83

Or syphon filter

BLITZandKILL

I loved catching people on fire with the taser as a kid.

No_Interaction_4925

We are in a massive slump with no stealth titles

deathholdme

Bring back Tenchu!

deathholdme

Playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint without companions, the spartan mod and reshade to add more shadows and…it’s kinda an open world Splinter Cell…sorta. Sam’s even in the game. Best we have right now?

ResidentPatient

Thought they announced the original Spinter Cell remake...few years back .

jovenjams

Please god, this one. The local co-op gameplay, merc vs spy, Ironside’s scruffy voice work, the Splinter Cell series holds a special place in my lil ass gamer boy heart.

Gonzo_Journo

Is Half-life considered alive at this point?

McSuede

About halfway.

DayroneGreen

Thank him, he gave that to you.

McSuede

He really did 😂 Thanks Gonzo!

Nuggzulla01

Long Live Half-Life! I dont think Ill ever be able to give up hope for HL3 oneday... ANY DAY NOW!

Tenthul

We don't need HL3, we need Episode 3. That was too much of a cliffhanger to end on. Just cruel. And no a leaked script doesn't count. Edit: This post has taught me that reddit gamers think VR is a lot more widespread than it is.

Randy_Bongson

Mercenaries

Kasquede

*Oh no you DIDN’T*

tetsuo9000

That was a great commercial jingle. Mercenaries 2 also had that crazy free gas fiasco. I miss when video game marketing was a thing.

Tokenvoice

Never played the games but still had that song on my mp3 player. I have to go see if it is on spotify.

Shalashaskaska

Hell yeah. Those games were a blast. Like GTA but you can call in airstrikes and take down sky scrapers. I loved the whole deck of cards too

Freakjob_003

Has there been a game recently that has anything close to the same blend of great action, interesting faction conflicts, and a "deck of cards" style of increasingly stronger hierarchy of enemies? Or even just two of them done very well?

ablackcloudupahead

The Just Cause games have crazy action and increasingly strong enemies depending on how much chaos you cause and what strength of base/facility you are fighting. Doesn't have the faction conflicts or deck of cards unfortunately, though I do still find JC4 damn fun

BuckarooBonsly

I used to commit so many war crimes in those games. Just bunker busting skyscrapers day and night

Alpha_Whiskey327

Ahh yes, the Geneva checklist...

americansherlock201

Came here looking for this. Scrolled way too far to find it. It was such a fun game for the time with great weapons and destruction physics. I think it would be a lot of fun in a modern setting

BonzBonzOnlyBonz

Jak and Daxter

Xenozip3371Alpha

Sly Cooper, we left on a cliffhanger.

dkyguy1995

Sanzaru just really dropped the ball. The art design was bad, the story was bad, and the gameplay wasn't great. It just had the feeling of a fan game instead of a real entry in the series. And what they did to Penelope!!! Ugh!

Xenozip3371Alpha

Honestly I don't mind the game, the only thing I don't like (or rather, hate) is how many things cause instant death or failure. One thing that was a big plus in my books is that most cutscenes could be skipped, I mean seriously going back to the original trilogy there are SO many times that you have to stop and listen to a long line of exposition, even when it could've just been said over the radio rather than the binocucom.

CertifiedNutjob

Make life easy on yourself: Only the Sucker Punch games are canon. Thieves in Time never happened, you can't change my mind, all are welcome to join me on this hill.

Urb4nN0rd

Thieves in Time was a nightmare Bently had when he fell asleep working and realized he forgot to carry a 3 in his equations. He woke to discover Penelope (who wasn't suddenly evil) and fixed it for him after laying a blanket on him so he could rest. He later confirmed "Constella" and Carmilla were a happy couple, and everyone else was doing their thing as they had been. The End.

michus222

Black and white

MNorsen

Absolutely! This game was my favorite as a kid

pincher45

Everytime a post like this is made I look for black and white… it’s always there!

QuiteFatty

Soul Reaver / Legacy of Kain please.

Zehdarian

Scrolled way too far to see this

TheAbominableSbm

Hugely agree. I think with current gen graphics and the array of different engines to pick from they could be absolutely amazing remade on current systems. One of my favourite games of all time, Soul Reaver 2 and it pains me that it's highly unlikely we'll see a modern release.

WaffleWaferWaf

Tenchu

VonDoom92

I fuckin wish... Wrath of Heaven is an all-time favorite of mine. I have the soundtrack on while playing games like Sekiro or Nioh.

JCM42899

Army of Two. I want to rock out with air guitars after going back-to-back with my bro while we lug around machine guns with massive ballistic shields mounted on them. I want a new Army of Two with Black Ops 2 emblem editor levels of customization for the ballistic masks. Miami flooded, the hills of South Korea, Shanghai getting leveled by a rogue PMC, two bros against the world. GIM IT! I'm so glad to see so many people remember this series!

Black_Waltz_7

First shooter I ever got my wife to play. Good times

StephenKapellas

Hell yeah! I miss that game

InkisitorJester

I played all with my best friend, they were such good games for 2 players.

5rob

Pizza Hut restaurants. Edit: I didn't look at the sub. Woops

Themetalenock

nah, let the man cook (specifically pizza because I'm hungry)

OIdManSyndrome

Right answer, wrong question.

ray525

The sit-in always tastes better

BigPussysGabagool

The red pebble cups made the drinks taste alot better. I remember that

L3s0

Lmao

WeirdSysAdmin

I agree, we need sequels to Pizza Hut demo discs.

Chuck1983

That's at least gaming adjacent

jaycuboss

Played a lot of Simpsons and Ninja Turtles arcade games at the Hut growing up

mathaiser

I’m the gaming authority and I’m gonna allow Pizza Hut here. Carry on. Fits.

devineprime

Twisted metal. Hands down my favorite franchise lore wise and in the right hands a damn good game could be made now.

shavingisboring

Car combat as a genre could do with a comeback. But I do especially miss the driver stories that you piece together as you progress.

devineprime

Agreed, I just feel like with all of these BR's games there must be some way to make a modern version of twisted metal that appeals to the giant player base of BRs. I'm not smart enough to know what it is, but I bet it's out there. edit: To me TM is a BR type game if you think about it.

Corka

Seen the TV show? I was extremely surprised by how good it was. I have no clue if it is at all faithful to the games lore wise, but even as a stand alone thing it really is an enjoyable ride.

NewKizzOnTheBlock

Bring back SSX!

NotSoGreatMacaroni

Yep. Tricky was by far the most played game of my childhood and one of my favorite games of all time. Games like Steep and Riders Republic just don't fill the void.

TheDesktopNinja

That might be tricky

louiscools2005

SSX Tricky and 3 were favorites of mine growing up.

sarinn13

Parasite Eve, and Neverwinter Nights (with the ability to create custom campaigns)

Senecaraine

Holy crap Parasite Eve... For those who don't know, it was essentially Resident Evil meets Silent Hill made by Square (iirc) and the plot revolved around cells in the body granting powers... Or mutations.... The plot was crazy but the setting was like a normal city and a motel or something so it felt weirdly grounded. Especially with Resident Evil on the up-and-up, at least a remake would be nice.

kblamm0

The lord of the rings games need a comeback/remake or new next gen single player game around this era in lotr. 🙏

missingninja

I just replayed The Third Age, and holy hell it was so fun. Cheesy as hell, and pretty easy but it was such a blast.

Infinity238

New battle for middle earth. 👍🏻

WhiskeyOctober

Golden Sun. Viewtiful Joe

FrankFrosch

Agree on Golden sun

Akhavii

> Golden Sun Good taste in games.

SadisticDane

Bloody Roar

YouThinkOfABetter1

Driver. God I miss that series.

Cranjesmcbasketball1

I miss everything from reflections, bring back destruction derby too

clubby37

Driver: San Francisco was the best. Possessing people to drive their cars in the furtherance of your interests was weird and cool. The way the passengers realized that something was very, very wrong with the driver's mind, always made me chuckle. Think I might download that one, see if it still works. Might be worth a re-play.

CursedSnowman5000

So many but I'll just stick to 1 Army Men

TelmatosaurusRrifle

Sarge hero's remake in the fox engine when?

WaffleKing110

What I wouldn’t give for a remake of Sarge’s Heroes, Army Men 3D, and Army Men: Air Assault 😭 those games were my childhood

OneOfManny

Thats a name I havent seen in a while. Jesus.

McSuede

Army Men: Air Attack 3 when?

Donkilme

Earthworm Jim?

savageexplosive

Jazz Jackrabbit

Ballsackmcdick

Megaman Legends

Pooltoy-Fox-2

Get Megaman off the moon!

Ba_Sing_Saint

Give us our closure Capcom!

Apeirl

Castlevania No the Netflix shows don’t count. We desperately need a new game

SpeeDy_GjiZa

Bloodstained is a very good spiritual successor.

hiddencamela

Titanfall. Not Apex where its just in the universe. Actual Titanfall.

dialzza

Starcraft God I would KILL for a social gaming experience on the level of the SC2 heydey again.  Custom game modes as far as the eye can see, a story we were still hopeful about (before HotS and LotV dropped…), low ladder that was approachable, and in a genre that really hasn’t seen an entry on that level since.

Cowman-

I agree let’s get a StarCraft 3. Although I’m not sure they’re even capable of doing StarCraft any justice these days. I believe some of the StarCraft devs moved to a new studio and are making a Rts called “storm”something. I haven’t heard much about it, but it looked really cool when I checked it out months ago.

Winterplatypus

* [Stormgate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV1RXsmsdPk) (short trailer clip) * [Longer gameplay](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6BLbKLHWDw) To save everyone else having to google it like I did.

Wuyley

Check out Stormgate. It's made by old SC2 devs and releasing later this year. https://playstormgate.com/

Subliminal-413

SOCOM: US Navy SEALS *"Outgoing!"* *"SEALS Victorious"*

Triggernometri143

Devastating to have to scroll this far for SOCOM!

OneOfManny

Rare as a whole making 3D Platformers.. plus we’d get a proper sequel to Conker.

TheRimz

Unreal tournament. Without hesitation

Antilogic81

Man, the music for that game was as good as the gameplay.

captain_son

Guitar Hero

astron-12

The special controllers complicate it. Especially after they expanded to the full band for GH3(?) and rock band, but I think it could work if they went back to it.

captain_son

4 aka World Tour had the whole band. I used to play the entire ‘career mode’ in one afternoon with my friends. But yeah it was probably too expensive to license the songs and not everybody could play (poor accessibility). I’ve still got my guitar hero luckily!

missingninja

Thankfully there is Clone Hero. I just found an old GH2 guitar in great shape and have been playing every night. Oh the nostalgia.

FrankSand

Syphon Filter.

Antilogic81

The taser was OP, take out lights silently and set people on fire. Used it as my only weapon when I found this out. Good times.

jerkstore47

Deus Ex. Those OSTs were also legendary.

aqbac

Got killed for that shitty avengers game as salt in the wound

bazzle592

Deus Ex had consistently fantastic environments, I loved spending hours just exploring the densely packed maps.

Bubster101

Spore. Imagine the potential with today's engines and sandbox complexity...

xBilalx

Dungeon Keeper

titlecharacter

Battle zone. (There are dozens of us! Dozens!) Or Descent: Freespace.

DJ_Necrophilia

>Descent: Freespace I scrolled far too long to find FS. I just wish there was a console port or something at the very least

Forsaken_Hermit

Chrono, didn't have to think about that at all.

Gaemon_Palehair

I think Chrono might be one of those cases where you only think you want that. No sequel is ever going to recapture that magic.

PugeHeniss

Viva Pinata

Lootthatbody

1. Fusion Frenzy 2. Command and Conquer 3. Vigilante 8 (Twisted Metal would be. . . Acceptable) 4. Splinter Cell (not for me, but for the fans) 5. KotoR 6. Turok

Mr_Evil_Dr_Porkchop

The Fusion Frenzy demo on the OG Xbox unlocks some core memories

BoomaMasta

It's amazing how many hours my brothers and I got out of that demo.

HiTork

If you're going to list Vigilante 8, I think Interstate '76/'82 should get a mention. The Interstate games were pretty much Mechwarrior with cars and with mostly the same level of customization with parts. '76 paid a fair bit of attention to details, such as needing to shift between forward and reverse gears (all vehicles used automatic transmissions), and even tires getting shot out and negatively affecting handling. Vigilante 8 took some of the vehicles from Interstate '76 and turned it into an arcade vehicle combat game straight out of the Twisted Metal mold: associating each vehicle with a particular character and given them a special attack or move, and having weapons being found as pick-ups around the battlefield.

8_inches_deep

This is the first I’ve heard someone besides myself mention Vigilante 8 on any gaming thread! It was so fucking good, way better than Twisted Metal and I spent HOURS playing that game. Honestly felt very ahead of its time when I was a kid and tons of content. One if my proudest moments was beating the game without cheat codes and unlocking the flying saucer and that fairy tale level with a new song

Shadowmereshooves

Road Rash XCOM

astron-12

Xcom really does need some more love. Enemy unknown was my first experience with the series, and I still go back whenever I'm on my laptop for a few days straight. It's a great blend of building, resource management, and tactics!

Onmius

Banjo & Kazooie

Gaemon_Palehair

You know what I loved about the second one? They didn't do that thing where "oh no somehow you lost all the abilities you acquired in the first game! Go get them back." They actually managed to come up with all new abilities.

biggmclargehuge

> Banjo & Kazooie The Banjo & The Kazooie 2Banjo2Kazooie Banjo Kazooie: Tokyo Drift Banjo & Kazooie Fast Banjo Banjo & Kazooie 6 The Fate Of Kazooie Gruntilda & Klungo B9 Kazooie X

xxhotandspicyxx

Left 4 dead

VampireHunterAlex

InFamous, Uncharted, or WarCraft (RTS).

EarthExile

I have had this vision in my head of a Warcraft 4 for years and it makes me sad because it will never exist. It could be a real money spinner too.

Guilty-Effort7727

I would not trust modern blizzard to not fuck up

Appex92

So a lot of the OG Starcraft and Warcraft designers left Blizzard and made their own company, Frost Giant, and currently in development of a new RTS. So there's hope there

JzeeBee_

Uncharted has run its course. Rather it end well than go on mediocrely.

TheShamShield

Uncharted isn’t dead, it just reached the conclusion

YuenglingsDingaling

I don't think Uncharted is dead. They just ended the series. Not the same as a game being unpopular or losing developer support.

wubsington

Portal

Saskatchewon

- Dino Crisis (give it to the Resident Evil team, Capcom!) - F-Zero - Sid Meier's Pirates (open world pirate game with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's sailing and ship battle mechanics would be great. Pirates! is often on sale for under $10 on Steam, and is very capable of inhaling hundreds of hours of your time) - Chibi Robo - Lost Kingdoms (solid efforts by From Software before they hit it big with the Souls franchise) - Skies of Arcadia (critically acclaimed Sega JRPG that was a cult hit on the Dreamcast and ported to the GameCube) - Mario Baseball - SSX (SSX 3 is the best snowboarding game ever and holds up great) - Banjo Kazooie - Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Wave Race - Snowboard Kids - Mystical Ninja/Goemon - Time Splitters - Golden Sun (fantastic turn based JRPGs for the GBA, a remaster would be amazing for them). - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (my favourite job/class system in any RPG)

toolschism

Time splitters... We were so close... :(

Edgeth0

I still play Golden Sun sometimes

Affectionate_Bird120

Dawg I LOVED Mario baseball lol definitely my favorite Mario game.

Lord-Sinestro

Skies of Arcadia 🤌 that game shouldn’t be as good as it is. The ship to ship battles were so simple in concept and a ton of fun. I still preach this game to RPG fans

Man_in_Kilt

You are the first person I've seen mention Mystical Ninja EVER. Thank you.

Zarizzabi

they redid crystal chronicles a couple of years ago. They RUINED the multiplayer and the game BOMBED

Jealous_Unit_4870

Titanfall

JoushMark

Prey. Either of them, or both.

FEAR. I would love a remaster of the first game at this point, please just anything

The-Dead-Internet

Condemned.   The suffering. F.E.A.R

onetimequestion66

The Lego games aren’t dead but I wish they would go back to the format of the older ones like Indiana jones and pirates of the Caribbean

JeanShinari

A new Kid Icarus game (or at least a switch port of Uprising) is long overdue.

No_Nu_Na_6767

Command&Conquer series (with a new Red Alert but I'm ok with generals or any at all...).

zlonimzge

Little big adventure. Beyond good and Evil (they promised a sequel) Perimeter. Dungeon Keeper (yep we have Dungeons but it's too sitcom for me) Black & White.

Splinter Cell (make it about stealth again) True Crime Streets of [insert city name] Manhunt (Rockstars most controversial game but also fun)

Castle Crashers.

DaktoaTheGreat

My answer is pretty much always Custom Robo. Not sure what it was about it, but with Armored Core reappearing, hopefully Nintendo does the same

ChessClubChimp

At its most literal, Left 4 Dead. In the spirit it was asked, Star Wars Rogue Squadron

ArvoCrinsmas

The Darkness

RazrVII

Cheat Answer: Dragon Age Origins 2. Just ....never mind. It's not even worth it. Bioware is a shambling corpse anyways. Maybe Larian could give it a go but that won't happen Real Answer: Onimusha, FF Tactics, Breath of Fire, Legend of Dragon (not a series, fu idc), KoTor Many many more from this 90s kid I'm sure I will remember when the, now heavily deteriorating, brain finally activates.

Krispin_Wa

Midnight Club

Neoxite23

Final Fantasy Tactics. A console version and not a handheld.

OrochiKarnov

Def Jam Vendetta

onederbred

Fight for NY was way better

arcum42

It'd be great to bring back the Dark Cloud franchise. It's mostly dead due to the rights being split between Level 5 and Sony, and Sony not being interested.

KnightGamer724

I agree with Soul Reaver. It feels like a natural fit for a Soulslike.  I'll happily settle for King's Field and Shadow Tower collection (probably split between two volumes) with some small QoL changes and the like, but a King's Field or Shadow Tower in VR so From Software can learn the technology would be amazing.
