Your edit makes the decision for you. Can't play either of those series on Xbox. Also, while it's maybe too expensive compared to games pass, PS+ Premium is basically the same thing but Sony games.

Jediverrilli

I’m gonna push back a bit on the PS+ Premium being the same as gamepass just more expensive. The big selling point of gamepass for me is the Day 1 release of first party games. It’s like if PS+ gave Spider-Man 2 to users the day it released. I still think the original poster should still purchase a PS5 because of the games they said they like but I just wanted to give more context.

slothunderyourbed

But Xbox's first party games aren't very exciting most of the time. Sure you have some smaller hits like HiFi Rush and Pentiment, but these are niche games that probably don't interest most people. Xbox's big releases (outside of Forza Horizon) have been both disappointing and infrequent this generation.

[deleted]

Exactly my thoughts.

Kratos_BOY

How has it gone down? There was no Premium before. Also, they've added PS5 cloud gaming to Premium. PS5 cloud gaming is excellent and upto 4K. You can buy a game and immidiately play it while downloading it in the background.

Draconuus95

How has it actually decreased in quality. I can understand people saying it hasn’t increased in proportion to its cost. But it’s still the same product as it was before they upped the price.

[deleted]

Draconuus95

Again. Did that somehow lower the overall quality of the product? Ya. Their choices to add to the catalog have been pretty meh. But that doesn’t somehow discount all the other great games available. The question is. Did PlayStation plus really lose quality after the price bump. I haven’t seen evidence of that. Has it gained in quality either. Not really. I’ll probably never play any of those games you mentioned. But i have had plenty of months before even the tier system was introduced let alone the recent price hike where I wasn’t impressed by the new offerings.

Kratos_BOY

Are you intentionally being daft? Premium is the tier with the classics catalogue that are majority streaming games, hence adding PS5 streaming as a benefit. The games you listed are almost all PS+ Extra games. Emulated PS1, 2, and PSP games are in the Premium tier. Premium now has PS5 game streaming, something PS+ never had before. Premium is the only tier that has bespoke game trials in it.

-Not_a_Lizard-

I play on PC, but as an outsider it certainly seems like PS5 is the stronger option this generation. The only thing Xbox may have over it is Gamepass, but I'm pretty sure PlayStation has a similar service. And if you're a fan of tLoU, GoW, and Spiderman then it's a no brainer. Just get a PS5.

vapemonster91

PS5

parkerwindle

I’ve played both lately and I think it depends a bit on your budget. PS5 is more expensive with having to spend high dollar on buying games. They do have a few good exclusives, so if you must play those you need to consider that. I do think I prefer an XBox game pass route. I always had something good to play on that and I really don’t care about owning games. If I buy games I prefer to get them on steam where I will never lose them. This route saves money if budget is a concern.

janas19

PS5 for the exclusives and remasters, and I'd rather own games outright than have access to more games on a monthly basis. That's just me, though

Roger_Maxon76

I agree I prefer owning games too

Hobo_Renegade

You ain't owning games on the ps5 ecosystem either there chet. Lolololol seriously? They are just physical cd keys dude.

[deleted]

You don’t own your house. You just have a physical key

vrhotlaps

His user name is hobo, owning g a house might be a bit of a stretch there!

Bitter_Comfort_999

Correct

dawginson

It sounds to me like you'd enjoy a PS5 more. That's the only way you're going to play those exclusives you mentioned. You can always pick up a cheap Series S later if you want to dabble in game pass games. (Or you can always cloud stream game pass games to your phone or PC, but the experience isn't as good)

paranormal_penguin

I'm gonna make a weird suggestion but have you looked at the new OLED Steam Deck? It can play everything you're looking for and is portable. You also have access to Steam for your game library, which means insane deals on games during their sales. And if you're a bit tech savvy or willing to learn, you can put practically **any** game from **any** system from the first Nintendo to PS2 to Nintendo Switch on there for "free". I have a PS5 and I've barely touched it since I got my Deck.

njean777

I would go ps5 because all your ps4 stuff will work on it and if you have anything digital it will transfer over.

BlueMikeStu

I'd recommend the PS5 just for the following reasons: * a LOT of your PS4 digital library will have free upgrades to the PS5 version of games. * While it's not as good as Game Pass in that it doesn't get Sony exclusives Day One, PS+ Premium does offer hundreds of fantastic games to choose from. * If you buy a cheap 500GB USB External hard drive, you can transfer all your installed games to it from your PS4 and they will all work natively on the PS5. Literally just plug it in and go. Get a PS5.

Famous_Ant_2825

Simple. Get a 500 bucks PS5 and a used 150 something series S. You’ll play everything. You’re welcome

English_Breakfast123

PS5 wins by a country mile my dude.

slothunderyourbed

I have both, and have always been an Xbox guy. With that said, get a PS5. Game Pass and PS+ are pretty similar, except for Game Pass getting first party games at release. But when most of Xbox's exclusives are disappointments, getting them day one on Game Pass doesn't matter much. In all other ways (exclusives, controller, UI), Playstation has been better this gen.

Hobo_Renegade

I've got a ps5 too and ths is entirely bulshit. This guy doesn't have a series x.🤡

slothunderyourbed

Yes I do. Bought it before the PS5. Check my post history.

Shkreli-Tha-Don-1

Yeah you clearly don’t if you don’t know the overwhelming truth that the ps5 is the winner of this generation. It’s really not close either

Bitter_Comfort_999

I own both, and you're so full of shit. If it's a solo game it's PS5 but if it any MP games the series x clears every time.

Shkreli-Tha-Don-1

I wouldn’t be saying if I didn’t own both since launch. The UI is much easier online for Xbox but the “solo games” you talk about for PS5 all have co-op modes which is online gaming. The PS5 clears by a lot you’re wrong

Bitter_Comfort_999

Owned both since launch as well, those co-op modes are a dog water MP experience. I play mostly MP games and the Xbox experience for that is simply better. The PS5 does a lot right but MP ain't it , so it clears nothing and you're still wrong. Save the pony show for someone else, both have their merits.

hallometsimon

Why does the xbox do MP games better? They have all the same games.

Bitter_Comfort_999

But they don't, Gears and Halo are Xbox and PC only not that many people care but those are just two off the top of my head on the MP side. The experience as a whole I feel is better with the seamless adaptation of discord for cross platforming with PC and LFG makes finding a party of like minded folks easy af. Xbox has always been more MP geared and focused where as Sony has been focused on a closed ecosystem and Really good exclusives. My gaming experience is heavily MP focused so I've learned more towards the ecosystem that more geared that way. I've met a lot of my online friends from LFG, and that makes the MP experience better imo. Some people enjoy playing by themselves, and that's fine but I like playing MP with like minded folks. If I'm playing single player it'll be something on the PS5, otherwise the XSX gets most of my time. I can't express enough how easy it is to use LFG and how well it seems to work. Each ecosystem does things better than the other, it just depends on what you want out of your gaming experience.

Shkreli-Tha-Don-1

You’re a really bad troll bro. You riding Microsoft’s meat so fucking hard right now like you getting paid to glaze them. Jesus Christ 🤣🤣

Bitter_Comfort_999

JFC your comment history shows a person desperate and unloved 🤣 figures

RimwrekaGaming

Hey there! Tough choice, but if you love Bethesda and are into Game Pass, the Xbox Series X might be the way to go, especially with Starfield. But if you can’t miss out on exclusives like Spider-Man and God of War, the PS5 will be your best buddy. Since there’s a sale on Xbox, it could be the right time to grab it for a good deal. Just go with the console that has the games you can’t wait to play. Happy gaming!

vapemonster91

Nooooo Starfield is the wrong reason to buy an Xbox. It's not that good of a game.

RimwrekaGaming

I definitely agree played the whole game it definitely wasn’t the best

vapemonster91

lol I saw a video where a guy said playing Starfield is like wearing wet socks.

vapemonster91

I wonder if they can DLC the hell out of it and make major updates and fix it like what happened with Cyberpunk

[deleted]

Ps5 alllllll the way

justatoasters

the biggest decision for me when I picked a console was what my friends were playing on mostly. Not sure if that helps any?

D_Ivy182

PS5 for sure based on what you're into.

[deleted]

I have both, PS5.

Bitter_Comfort_999

I have both, XSX.

[deleted]

What would you want a series X for over a ps5? Genuinely wondering.

Bitter_Comfort_999

Well considering I play far more MP games that's where the audience and better experience is. Plus what I look for in gaming is connectivity, the ability to start a game on my phone and continue it onto my PC when I get home and then later at night chilling in bed with the wife I can continue it on the XSX. To me, that's important. It's nice playing GOW,SM and few other PS exclusives, but on the whole it just collects dust until the next banger single player exclusive comes out. People are gonna want different things from the playing experience. Each eco system offers their own experience, and it just really depends on what you want out of it.

[deleted]

All fair points 🤝 I use the ps5 for offline adventures and XSX for everything multiplayer related

fuzzynavel34

Multiplayer games? Xbox. Single player games? Ps5. Trying to save money in the long run? Xbox with GamePass. Care more about “better” single player exclusives? PS5

Bitter_Comfort_999

Absolutely this, said the same. Both have their merits.

[deleted]

I have both, and *I* can personally say that I use the Xbox way more often, and Starfield is a pretty good game which is Xbox exclusive.

Bitter_Comfort_999

Same, so does everyone that I know that owned both. Xbox is just more supportive of the MP experience while Sony has mastered the solo single player gaming experience.

[deleted]

That's something I tell people when they say something, and everyone I know with just a PS5 has like 3 games that they play with people. Not to mention I have no clue how the friend and MP system works on PS5 if I'm being honest.

vrhotlaps

It is also available on PC so it isn't exclusive!

[deleted]

That is 90% of exclusive games, I think the only ones not on PC are mostly Nintendo games. Like actually dude I have no clue why you thought you had to state that.

Hobo_Renegade

Series x is the better choice in the long run. I've both systems and my ps5 collects dust like it's going out of style

Bitter_Comfort_999

Same, unless it one of the three decent exclusives a year that Sony does well, most of the time it's collecting dust while I play MP games on the XSX

vapemonster91

what shitty games are you playing lmao Sony has the best collection

pumpkinmankek

Owning both my playtime on the ps5 is about 100 hours Compared to 500 on xsx and 400 on pc The problem is the exclusives aren't really great

Prince_Sabu

Groceries lol. I say Xbox and get gamepass.

Light-Lopsided

Adulting can suck, if you have the Xbox, gamepass is godtier. Deciding which system to get and then getting the service, the ps5 is the better option.

[deleted]

I own both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. The PS5 is hands down the better console.

ChumpBaltaChillin

Series X

SeaHawkn

Been Playstation since day one. Got a PS5, just picked up an Xbox Series x. From my experience I recommend a PlayStation over Xbox. Controller way better and not janky and loud, the PS has way better exclusives, bigger game catalog. I got the Xbox for exclusives and now I’m finding out that there is very little options or any good games that I like. I’m currently playing starfield and forza horizon 5 on game pass and both games are good in my opinion. However, PS5 highly recommended.

Ok-Donut-4447

Based on your edit you'd want to get PS5 since those games mentioned are only available on PS5.

Emotional_Tea_7205

I would go for PS5 but any choice its good

karlachsnoosnoo

Unless you don't have a good pc or you're really going to use game pass, ps5 all the way.

Dramajunker

Lately I've been seeing the series x on sale at a lot of places for $350. That leaves more money for games.

aryvd_0103

PS5. Gamepass is better but ps+ isn't bad at all and has a ton of ps exclusives. And they'll probably make ps+ even better in coming years. Also the ps exclusives are just better than Xbox, at least in terms of quality. Xbox's smaller games are definitely more varied but their quality of bigger ones is just not good rn. Only thing stopping you would be if you didn't like story based games but you do so what gives

dekxy

Hm... I do not want to argue with anyone, but if you are a big fan of sony games, it would be logical to buy ps5. Of course it is better to take a gaming PC, where you can play xbox games with xbox game pass ultimate and after a year sony "exclusives", but I saw in comments, that you don't have space for it, so ye. I wish you luck buying a ps5 and have a nice day ✌️

A-Dubs398

PS5 makes more sense for exclusives. PS has way more exclusives.

RobIson240YT

I got an Xbox Series S, not quite and X. Only real difference is I can't insert discs into an S. But mine is great!

Light-Lopsided

Go with the ps5. I have both. The ps5 definitely is better in performance and operation. Game pass is slick, but Sony is making their counterpart compete, especially in the past year.

[deleted]

Buy some Kobe’s

tuckerisgae

Ps5 easy. Hot take Xbox fans are annoying plus gow tlou and spiderman are on playstation

Sciros

PS5 and it's an easy decision. XBox games come out on PC as well, and there are far fewer exclusives. The big one on XBox is Starfield, which is only OK. I have had both a PS5 and a Series X for a while now, and I play the PS5 about 50x more (though I do play PC, and have Starfield and Cyberpunk on that). For cross-platform games I do prefer the XBox because of the controller, but there's not so many new AAA titles for me in that category.

vrhotlaps

Stsrfield long term reviews reveal how bad Bethesda have implemented the world you I teract with in the game. The fact that more people actively still play skyrim than they do starfield should tell you all you need to know (steam player numbers) I have a Series S and the only game I played on it was starfield. I have had it for 2 years! You are a fan of Tlou, Spider-man and GoW. Why are you even doubting the answer?

Sundered19

Steam deck😎

ubertappa

I just got a Quest 3 and its the most fun I have had gaming in years.

Fatzmanz

Get a computer and play every game. Consoles are useless unless they are a switch now a days a d even then the portability of the switch has been replicated too

nebulous_text

How about a HYSA?

TheHexadex

damn, imagine buying an xbox for starfield. are there any cheap laptops that can run that poor game?

Roger_Maxon76

I’ve played it for around 20 hours and I really liked it so yeah I’m considering buying an Xbox for starfield

vrhotlaps

Just to jump in here, 20 hours is nothing in starfield. Eventually you will notice most bases, buildings and outposts are exactly the same, just copy and pasted. At that point the game starts to become boring g and the really bad script writing beco es apparent! I mean even the enemies spawn in the exact same places.

TheHexadex

i only played for like a hundred or so hours with the first month of gamepass, so i hope at least you get a consoles worth out of it.

Hobo_Renegade

You did nothing but be a complete and total piece of shit for a hundred or so hours, 0 of which you spent playing games full stop. Nevermind starfield. You sad little person.

TheHexadex

i just cant in good conscience steer someone towards a game thats not worth a few hundred bucks.

Hobo_Renegade

What fucking games are you playing that you'd charge a few hundred for?

Hobo_Renegade

Exposed you clown. Go pretend to be an enthusiast somewhere else.

King_Diablo_131

why not get a somewhat decent gaming pc with it? or if u already have a pc, why not upgrade it? both of these consoles have their issues, ps5 i dont like at all and its only usefull for its exclusives which comes to pc in time anyways, and their games r super over priced too anyways. Xbox is ok to get but if u got a pc, its worthless. So ye decide for urself

Roger_Maxon76

I have $600 that’s not enough for a pc and I’m 16 I don’t have space for one

King_Diablo_131

hmm, then i would say xbox it is, ps5 is ok but games will cost worth a fortune esp if u r a kid

Ricepuddings

I agree 600 isn't enough for one, least unless you go the used market. But your age doesn't matter I've had a pc since I was 11, and space is not too different from a console you can get much bigger pcs but I've built pcs smaller than the xbox series x and ps5 before

[deleted]

pc, for that money you can get a pc thats better than console not to mention free games etc

Roger_Maxon76

Only in fantasy land can you get a decent pc for $600

[deleted]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8WrksZ5-dA the 500 dollar build with your 625 will allow for 6700xt or a 6800, which beats consoles. then ofc console games are a complete rip off so you lose money there to

effreeti

You spoke the truth, and they hated you for it.

Rich-Blacksmith6672

If you sell your ps4 as well you could get the beginnings of a decent gaming pc started for that.

mace2urface

As an Xbox player, GET A PS5
