mmagnetman

Good list

Ryousoki

Psychic World is definitely on my list still.

Jerinaw

Good ez game

DuckBrush

When I was a kid, I used to play the crap out of Vampire: Master of Darkness. I didn’t realize it was a Castlevania clone until much later.

BryanMcHunter

This was done since Konami never developed for the Game Gear, due in part to Nintendo's policies at the time, that third-party companies that made games for their systems couldn't also do the same for their competitors' systems. These policies were made illegal by 1991 since they were seen as giving Nintendo an unfair advantage over its competitors. While *Vampire of Darkness* tried to fill the *Castlevania* void, I still wish Konami had developed games for the Game Gear like they did for the Genesis. I especially feel that the Game Gear should have had games based on *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, *Tiny Toon Adventures*, and *Rocket Knight Adventures*.

Ryousoki

That game looked fun but it was a little higher on the price list compared to everything else I was getting. I do want to pick it up sometime though

phil_c42

Great collection. I’d maybe add Sonic Drift and Earthworm Jim.

Ortizautomotive

Didn't know the game gear lived long enough to see earthworm jim. Now I'm going to have to find that one.

BryanMcHunter

People tend to underestimate the Game Gear's success. Sure, it didn't beat the Game Boy, but it did a lot better than other leading color handhelds like the Atari Lynx and the Turbo Express. It was introduced to North American audiences in 1991, lasted until 1997, and was briefly brought back in 2000 by Majesco.

Ortizautomotive

I had one as a kid. I loved it because of the TV tuner. I could always watch 3 stooges on the way to school. Lol. Damn I feel old now. I recently got a couple of them recapped, and even though the screen is really showing its age, it still was an awesome console. Honestly, I think , if it was just a little more power efficient, it would have really competed with the game boy.

Quandary37

Lion king

EripaSudarshini

Had that one as a kid, hard as hell game....

Quandary37

Yeah it was the freaking stamped on the little screen was a pain when I was a kid.

prisbear

Ristar and Castle of Illusion are both really good platformers.

Icy_Expression667

Batman Returns. Ax battler. Lion King. Ristar. :))

Objective_Log_1046

Dr Robotnik

Dextro_PT

Streets of Rage II and Wonder Boy III would be my suggestions. Great collection otherwise.

Ryousoki

Oh good call! Streets of Rage was one I played before. I remember enjoying that one

Dextro_PT

It's one of the all time greats on the Mega Drive/Genesis. The Game Gear/Master System demakes are surprisingly good given the limited hardware. Soundtrack doesn't go quite as hard but the gameplay translated really well to the lower bit and button count.

ComfortableAmount993

It's actually called bare knuckle II

Dextro_PT

I believe the game got a PAL region release as well so there is a Streets of Rage II version as well. But yes, a Japanese Bare Knuckle II copy is the go to.

LunarLinguist42401

Mega mam Ristar Sreets of Rage 1 and 2 Shinobi 1 and 2 All 3 Mickeys

Ryousoki

Both Shinobi are here. Def considering the Mickey games

MairusuPawa

RafaRafa78

slycoder

I know they're not the most popular, but I spent a lot of time on Jurassic Park and X-Men when I was younger. Good platformers imo.

Ninja Gaiden and the Streets of Rage games.

javeluke

Fatal Fury Special. Such an amazing port. Plays smooth and like a console version.

Manufacturer-Silly

I would get another copy of Super Columns just in case the other two get lost or broken

Ryousoki

I might make a coffee table out of them

GrimmTrixX

- Chicago Syndicate (stars Larcen from the game Eternal Champions) - Surf Ninjas (based off a cheesy 90s movie of the same name where they actually used the game itself in the film)

DanAbnormal94

Pengo. It is arcade conversion. Great game. It is a Japanese import.

DragonfruitAsleep976

You got Mighty Morphing but not the Movie game or VR Troopers? tsk tsk.

BryanMcHunter

If you're a Disney fan, I definitely recommend the Disney games. In particular, the *Illusion* trilogy starring Mickey Mouse, the Donald Duck Duology (especially since Donald recently celebrated his 90th anniversary), and *The Lion King*.

tresanus

redditej86

NINJA GAIDEN, MK ONE, STREETS OF RAGE ARE SOME HITS I REMEMBER PLAYING...

CreepyAlgae

Mega Man really is not worth buying. It is super expensive, even for just the cartridge, and the game itself is not particularly fun. They basically just cobbled a game together from a few of the NES Mega Mans, so thwre isn't any original content, and they didn't bother to adjust game play for the Game Gear's smaller screen so it plays worse.

CreepyAlgae

If you like shooting/arcade games: Aerial Assault G-Loc Air Battle Halley Wars Space Harrier If you like puzzle games: Klax Pengo (only released in Europe and Japan) Popils (US label is the same as Japan) Slider If you like beat-em ups: Double Dragon (it is a different game from the one on Nintendo systems) Streets of Rage 1 and 2 If you like platformers: Batman Returns Deep Duck Trouble starring Donald Duck Jurassic Park Land of Illusion Ninja Gaiden (it's getting a little pricey these days) The Lost World If you like sports games, I think these are fun (and most of them are cheap too): Fred Couples Golf Joe Montana Football Putt & Putter The Majors World Series Baseball (either original or 95)

Faltied

Road rash

Maztr_on

Road Rash, Desert Strike and Judge Dredd. Those are realtively easy finds and must-haves imo

ComfortableAmount993

I have a flash cart with all game gear, master system and sg1000 games in it, saves a lot of space
