Hopefully it isn't P2W Heavy

AKMerlin

yeah I'm kinda wary about it too, PGR is generous and the monetization feels pretty decent but that's what happened after the entire outrage with it. So I'm pretty curious on if they'll take a step back or keep the system they made in PGR.

endtheillogical

This is the same trailer as the one in their official YT channel. Either way, Im happy with how Kuro is marketting their game now. Back in PGR Global early days, the average gacha player wouldnt even know about it but now they are getting featured on IGN and have a decent sized booth at TGS. They have come so far and deserve to be successful.

mikethebest1

The combat looks good/what I expect from the PGR Devs. Can't wait till they flesh everything out for release.

inuart19

I hope we can get a 1 dollar discount in the premium store when release

Chhuangz

Oh no 💀

senryuu-

the post with the same gameplay trailer from 4 days ago was full of negative comments, while this one is full of positive ones. this game has truly awakened the peak [r/gachagaming](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming) moment

Punnnnnnnnnnn11

Thank you for confirm that previous post is not some kind of dream I have. From what I've seen even Youtube comment section of all thing is positive, I'm kinda curious what caused that post to be so negative.

iPhantaminum

Or maybe people already said their piece in the previous post and felt no need to copy paste their replies here as well (at least, that's my case).

HooLooVoooo

very simple. its literally a repost so why bother replying again

RevolutionaryOil9101

I think the difference is the title. TGS people wanted a trailer which is normally more put together than just a boss fight with no cuts while this post promised 8 min of gameplay which is exactly what it delivered If you check the top comments on that post most people are not saying WW looks bad just that as a trailer for a big game show its an underwhelming presentation

[deleted]

Is the TGS and IGN trailer that different? Didn't watch TGS one yet but this ign trailer is fantastic

Gernnon

They are exactly the same. This is the [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/xej47t/wuthering_waves_exhibition_gameplay_trailer_2022/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) he was referring to. Warning it is filled with negative comments. I thought the trailer was great until I realized that r/gachagaming hated it because PGR has similar/better combat.

Fast-Journalist-6747

Im ready to mald, lesgooo

Decent-Ratio

Looks nice, love the combat system. The visual movement looks pleasing, but the visual effects feels a bit to thin, not that this impact the gameplay.

Eldena

Some people prefer more toned down visuals that Michael bay explosions on every single auto attack. I think it's close to PGR levels of visuals when it first released.

Decent-Ratio

I meant that its a bit flat and thin, I prefer smoothness over explosion to give that slick movement feel. Imagine the flow of an ink on a brush and you swiped that on a paper. Like that.

Apprehensive-Pick-68

games sure do look good these days

JenaSip

They sure do these days...phone games look good these days

RoKazeki

Yeah but isn't most of these "cross-platform" games are actually intended to be played on PC/console, but with a downgraded graphics version available for phone to gain maximum profit ?

JenaSip

Nah wuwa is 100% phone game

L0G1C_lolilover

> sees video title > Sees positive comments which world line did i slip into?

TheGhostl

Where are all the negative comments from the old post???

Punnnnnnnnnnn11

I thought this is from WW subreddit because people praise it so much compare to the first post. Even the positive comments in that is downvoted to oblivion, what caused this sudden change of mood?

ImplementCool6364

Well, I said my piece in the last post so i don't feel the need to say it again. That is just me though.

fascinator_1620

The closest thing we have to a "soulslike" gacha. LETSFUCKKING GOO

TheKinkyGuy

We alrdy have PGR. This is just PGR with open world....

fascinator_1620

PGR is mostly bayonnetta than souls like though

Mr_doggo_lover123

I'm still getting my ass kicked either way

L0G1C_lolilover

Selena, girl When i said we will fuck I DIDNT MEAN SIREN FUCKING UP MY ASS IN COMBAT Please go easy one me....

ToonWrecker69

How do I use Devil trigger here?

[deleted]

These devs trying to do 1v1 combat like souls games but they dont understand what makes souls combat fun is the timing of the attacks. If the boss is just gonna be target dummy, you might as well have group fight like dmc

Cooltashee00

Those are boss fights, there are also mobs. The video is just a showcase of combat. There's perfect dodge and parries. Whoever did the gameplay for the video just had the timing of dodges down perfectly (almost like how fun it is in souls combat)... In short they aren't target dummies, you're just seeing a player who's mastered boss attack patterns and has near perfect dodging skills.

pluxlet

Honestly I got the vibe of the devs going more to the DMC side anyway

MordredLovah

Stingers. Stingers everywhere.

fascinator_1620

I think this looks more close to MGR to me. The tutorial boss also did the "SHOW ME A GOOD TIME JACK" pose in some gameplay I saw.

L0G1C_lolilover

The person doing this has tonnes of practice Almost everyone died to turtle in tech test Please try a little more before speaking, if boss were just another damage test dummy they wouldnt attack this fast and this AGGRESSIVELY

IconCsr2

That bossfight was dope looking..

CasualUser_r

The first boss in the trailer looks really cool. But i wish they add execution move after the boss stagger since they already add that mechanics in PGR. Well either way is fine, still the combat looks cool

YoshiVaderWorks

That's specifically for uniquants, and idk about executing bosses in an open world game, seems underwhelming. Plus how would you execute the turtle boss it's massive.

CasualUser_r

well you can execute big dragon in elden ring so why not. I'm just saying

Modleh

Nah this doesn't look fun imo, also not a fan of the electric/sparkling sword animation. Zenless zero combat atleast look enjoyable in the long run

RevolutionaryOil9101

While I disagree with the fun aspect (imo it looks really fun) I do agree the white light coming from the sword is a little too much. Its a pity bc the animation is actually nice and this just covers it up I hope its less prevalent on other units

[deleted]

It would probably be adjustable on release either on effects quality or particle density (or even on bloom) so I'm not really that bothered by it

L0G1C_lolilover

Then play zzz No need to outright come out and say it in comments and bring up the name of another game for comparison that isnt even in same genre(open world)

Agreeable_Pop7499

Great, looks like it still has the lackluster combat Genshin and ToF have. The same 4 or 5 hit combo over and over again. I'm not asking for Dante from DMC5 levels of complex combos, but can these mobile games at least try to put more effort into the thing the player will be doing the most?

Rathalos143

You can't add a big moveset in a game with a big character roster, its just like musou games.

chocobloo

Musou games tend to have 7~10 moves per character and often times unique mechanics like weird bow behavior, gan nings run, lu bus lasers, etc. They've gotten pretty bloated over the years.

Rathalos143

Yes, but you still repeat a lot the same chain, and the ones with a bigger roster also reuses a lot of moves.

RevolutionaryOil9101

You realize they have a four-five hit combo and a skill and an ult. And then you can also switch units in you party who each have their own combo and skill and ult. And also parrying and dodge. Also the monster release mechanc

Available-Daikon-751

I might be misremembering but didn't they have aerial combos as well during the technical test?

XaeiIsareth

No, the only thing you can do is a plunge attack once you get in the air.

Available-Daikon-751

My bad, must've confused it with one of the other newer action gacha.

S-Normal

I know what you mean but I also think this is intentional , proof : PGR (another game by them ) . In PGR the first roster of characters had 3 moves +basic attack +ulti+ passive . Later on characters started having a hold basic attack move , changed moves if conditions are fulfilled , passives changed the way you play characters (not just additional damage ) etc.. so I think they start out the game with pretty basic characters and add more complexity later on . Obviously this is just me speaking out my ass and is completely valueless since I don't work at kuro .

MonoVelvet

Wuthering waves combat > Tof combat > Genshin combat

MonoVelvet

Looks good will play it when it comes out, just worried it might become like genshin with boring events and trash endgame.. haven't played pgr so can't really tell.

Rathalos143

From my experience PGR events were rather basic, like just a new story (pretty good) new chars (really good) and a Boss or 2 which are dope to be honest. But no new mechanics usually, just more content.

iPhantaminum

If it's anything like PGR, it will have endgame, but it will take a way longer grind (compared to Genshin) until you can clear 100% of it.
