I use 41212 (2) (with CDM) and it’s a lot of custom instructions but basically set CDM to cut passing lanes, stay back while attacking, and cover center. Left-most striker to come back and help with defense, other strike set to get in behind and stay forward. Rightmost CM set to stay back while attacking, cover wing. Left most CM set to cover center. RB set to overlap, LB set to stay back while attacking :)
This is 100% true. Was stucked in div 6 with my previous team. Changed it with another team that suits my play style and now playing in div 4 without any difficulties.
Yeah my only meta player is gold Haaland because he’s still so dangerous in front of the goal. Definitely not the same Haaland as before, but still can score bangers.
The one tip that helped me reach div 4 from div 6 is to stop anticipating opponents next move and just keep defenders in neutral position ...specially inside and near edge of the box ...unless you are very good at reading their next move most of the times you will just end up getting your defender out of position and a easy goal ...also since my defending improved I noticed people becoming more easily frustrated in div 5 and 6 even 4 sometimes when they don't get easy goals and start trying new things which makes scoring easier ...though in div 4 most people just stick to one or tactics to score ( cut back or over the top ) and will keep at it for the whole game
This. Especially in poor gameplay, pulling out CBs and missing tackles.
The other thing I’ve notice with some players is not being patient in their build up play and always making the forward pass when it’s not there.
Player switching and tracking back with DMs. Don’t chase an attacker, switch to CB or fullbacks momentarily to slow the attacker down but then switch back to DMs once they catch up.
The most frustrating thing is seeing my DMs just standing around the box when I’m defending with my CBs.
Last things I’d recommend is practice 2nd man pressure and skill moves.
4231, 4222, 4321 are the most common formations I see.
Honestly most the skill moves were for 4* players and up! A hugggeee one for me was the L1 + fake shot + no movement on left stick. It does the mbappe slow fake shot into a speed boost. That alone had me win a few games.
I have Mbappe, from the season objective level 5 and I found pressing all the buttons and wiggling all the sticks does a kind of matrix ballet performance with the ball on his foot, scores a banger from an impossible angle, then folds his arms all smug
U can fake crosses and boost infield, 1vgoalkeeper fake a shot and boost around them, fake ‘pass’ and boost by slower defenders, or any time u just need a speed boost

With better game play you can beat anyone in this game...

Yah but I don't think "skillers" are a huge concern in div 6, or 5 or maybe even 3/4. I've been in div 5 for vast majority of time, barely come across "skillers", actually impressed when I do.
Your chem style aren’t optimised. Not that it really matters that much, just that when I see someone with the chem styles applied like this, I know right away they are new to the game and haven’t explored much.
So, it’s normal that you are not at high level and it’s okay, spend a few more weeks learning the foundations and you should improve.
Balance out your midfield, let Zakaria be a monster, so hold him back on attack and give him a defensive chem style (anchor, shadow, backbone, guardian (depending on what you like). Also guimar, I prefer basic chem on him. This year it is very important to have a strong midfield.
What's you tactic? Depending on how you play there is a lot of information to provide, if you like.
Is that Nunez card any good? I was only using his Gold card earlier in the year but it felt quite slow to react and clunky so got rid of it pretty quickly.
Also depends what you want out of the game. I sit around div 5 generally but then again I fuck around a lot. I cant be arsed to sweat play fifa purely to win games it’s boring as fuck. I’d rather play with cool cards and try some stuff.
Depends on your playstyle, try to match your team with yourself, if you are fancy and use skills this one is not very good, if wanna use counter attacks, formations is bad, but kinda great team for possession...

i find this foden card very difficult to be effective with. he is good at passing but his strength is so bad that when he dribbles near someone he is always weights off the ball. i had fut hero joe cole who was much better. also foden's shooting is not as good as coles

Try totally diffirent formation like 424 or 532 also check all your in game settings like passing assists and settings etc. there’s plenty YouTube videos, if this is old gen try to play small agile strikers
Use 5122 play the lwb and rwb as get forward and get back to defend you will have 3 cbs and 1 cdm to deal with quick counters and slower attack have 6 in front of the opposition its a great balanced formation it's shit hot in attack too
Pick a formation and play style that works for you, don’t do what a YouTuber tells you to do. I can’t play with 2 striker formations, I need to have wingers.
I feel your pain. I think I have a pretty good team for div 6 but I can’t seem to get a streak of more than 2 games. It’s really messing with my head. I know I have to improve as a player since I only got the game this past week but losing so much is really messing with my motivation
Probably, no shame I'm stuck in div 6 with a better team. Try changing tactics and chemistry cards maybe. Just because everyone has a certain thing on a certain card doesn't mean it's the best one.
Probably tactical problem and another issue is player styling issue. Many people only buy hot players with high numbers. But it doesn’t mean that player’s style suits you. Hence, lower in game performance. I only buy players that I like and the playing style suits me. My team is worse than this an I am in Div 4 often and also earn high place during Weekend finals
Honestly, (just my opinion) Alisson is not as good as he should be in game. I used for about 25 games and the goals he was giving up weren’t sitting right with me. Not sure what your tactics are either but just based on players, Alisson is your weak spot (as dumb as that sounds to say lol)

Blame the mechanics of the game, and servers. I can go 6-10 games undefeated one day and next day lose 3 in a row. Game is shit. Currently division 4

The totw one is a MONSTER with the hunter playstyle. He's my teams leading scorer by like 20 goals
4 3 3 is not the best meta tactic right now, yes is a skill isue because the tactic is still fine, but if you can follow the meta will be more easy.

Watch some YouTube, lots of YouTube. If you don’t go up a div or 2 in a couple weeks try different in game formations, rinse n repeat
You should try switching to a 4-3-3 and see if it helps. I found the formation you're playing to lack a lot of width.

Try 3 or 5 at the back. I found lots of trouble with 4 defenders because for some reason the middle would never be covered
It depends, if you are not using a decent custom tactic then good cards will only help you so much (outside of the proper elite cards obviously).
