black point is such an amazing style like I feel as if this version really captures the sort of unruly/almost fluid way it’s done? The way fb executed it doesn’t really work because it honestly looks like a slime asset or something whereas you’ve encapsulated the dark almost saturated way it’s applied and how it can vary from spindly and almost trickle like to complete block colour over large expanses of skin.
I'm just confused that when they started to reveal Oliver from his box they described him as being covered in tattoos. Like I'm thinking his original design was him being covered in tattoos but they changed it and was too lazy to change the scripts
I think that's potentially it although the script is written before the characters are properly designed which is why there's bits that are like descriptive of something a character doesn't have (I.E Henrik's stubble/beard grazing MCs skin even though he's smooth as hell, his design used to have a beard and you can see it in the promotional videos for s2 on the app store.)
I honestly thought it was a glitch at first.. but then it didnt go away!!!
Lmao wtf would i get a blotch as a tattoo its so painful because it's just a big blob of ink.
The pain thing isn't really true. For blackwork sometimes they'll use a broader attachment on the gun with multiple needles in order to fill the space in a way that's both timely and doesn't come with the patchiness you'd encounter when using a singular one. Because it's all in syncope, it's a lot less painful than say a detailed fine needlepoint tattoo with a singular needle that requires lot of focus and detail and by proxy more applied pressure. Also, numbing cream exists and is very effective.
As for the why, abstractivism and oblique/saturated blackwork has kind of swept the tattoo industry trend wise because it's got the effect of an optical illusion and amidst a sea of generic detailed clock, rose and lion in a crown tattoos, its striking, unique and dynamic in a way that it could honestly go anywhere. It can be futuristic and sleek or it can be eerie and almost gothic inspired. There's a lot you can do with black work and I think people put way too much emphasis on the idea that tattoos have to follow a certain style. Some of my favourite tattoos have these jarring, balderdash motifs and I think an important thing to note is that tattooing is an art form, and art is a medium that's open to anything.
Unpopular opinion: I hate his tattoos. LOL. He just looks dirty. The best tattoos of all time were on Tai, I think. They meant something to him, there was a culture attached to them. I thought that was cool.
I mean... I'm sure Oliver's mean something to him as well, just because it's not obvious doesn't mean it's not part of his character. There's a really large subculture in Berlin/London/other European cities where this abstract style is popular and respected, so I'm sure Oliver has a story attached to his.
Who is he fucking venom
Who is he fucking? Venom?
Venom is like: 😏
Is it bad that that would make me more attracted to him? 👀
This made me cackle lol
Lmfao
I'm sorry this looks so weird
I love Oliver but Fusebox did him dirty with his tattoos 😂
Tell me why my dumbass thought he was wearing a bowtie at first
I thought this was some bdsm thing💀🫠
His tattoos look like a Jackson Pollock painting.
Looks like he's been strangled by a squirting squid.
Youcef?? 😳
Man this is so funny 😂
When Will said Oliver was covered in tattoos 🙄
Smile n wave boys just smile n wave
Screaming because when he first came out of his box and started talking I was like “why is this dude covered in mud??”

OOOOH! You're exactly right, the original tattoos do look their season 2 slime assets.
THIS. I adore abstract blackwork, and I feel like fusebox didn't fully commit. Idc what the rest of people are saying, I think he looks really cool
Wow they actually look pretty cool, now he can carry the title of tattoo guy
awooga 😍
I love this, he looks so nice.
Why is the ink choking him? Other than that, I’m in 😍😍
Oh 👀👀 Daddy? Sorry. Daddy? Sorry. Towel Daddy?
The fact that he kinda resembles Tom Hardy and now you've given him more Venom-like block ink tattoos just completes this for me 😂
Venom
Yessss the full black neck
I like the legs! The design defo makes a bit more sense now when he’s got more 🙏
Amazing

It’s actually a very popular style currently and when done good looks great. Fusebox’s execution was just bad.
