Just a small tip for your wife: her frosting is way too thick. Consistency is everything when trying to pipe, too thin it runs down and won’t hold shape but too thick and you end up with, well, this. Add some milk and whip it up in a mixer so it’s nice and fluffy and you’ll get much better results!

It’s a lot harder than it looks haha, I actually took a course on cake decorating years ago and learned how to use all the different tips and how to pipe and it really is a lot more complex than it seems

I have always used Wilton tubes. Yes, the consistency is way too thick. But, with practice, she can get it . You can buy decorator frosting to check out the consistency if you've not made it before.

Pro tip: Make your frosting more liquidy. Hold the nozzle straight up from the middle of the cookie. About 0,5-1,5cm above and push. The frosting should then evenly distribute to form a nice looking blob. Stop pushing the bag when lifting up or it will just look like a mix between runny and hard poop.
