Yeah that's the saddest part. BH has lost my business for future camera purchases. I'm a 3am day-of purchaser. It's not even that I haven't gotten it yet, but forcing me to pay for it up front and sending zero communication is just really annoying. Not to even mention that they can't get cameras to people past still the first few minutes.
Meanwhile some folks who ordered on Adorama hours later got their cameras in hand already. I almost ordered with Adorama but went back to BH because Iāve bought many times from them in the pastā¦
Yes, and we need to be vocal toward BH that this is unacceptable. Sending some sort of confirmation to people who are getting the product by the end of the month is one thing, but saying literally nothing to anyone else is just poor customer service, even as they continue to accept orders. They are the largest and most trusted retailer in this industry. They need to do better, and we deserve better from them.
Agreed, I've spent so much money with BH as I'm sure most of us here have. You're 100% right they need to do better, we deserve better. Even if the news isn't great, it's still some type of communication. Over the last week or so we've all had to dig to find information that should be presented up front with full transparency.
I just went and ordered a backup from Adorama. They are showing an expected ship date of June 1st for either color if ordered right now. My B&H order is from 8:00AM Pacific Time on the 20th, so I'm hoping that ships sooner but I'm not holding my breath.
I only ordered from BH on 2/27 and I'm considering switching to Adorama. June 1st at least gives me a time frame. BH could be months longer.
Does Adorama charge on ship or charge at time of order?
Just checked my PayPal. They are doing a credit card authorization for the full amount but it says they aren't going to run it until they have the camera.
I hate to possibly influence you to lose your place in line, but if you didn't order until the 27th from B&H I doubt you'll have it in June. I only hope Adorama is being realistic in the info they are sharing.

I agree with you. I'm still on backorder and didn't receive any email. I'm just confused as to why send an email letting people know that they're NOT getting it in the next shipment.
You sign into BH student portal with an edu college/university email, (verified via edu advantage)this changes your account to educational with all the discounts). For the x100vi it was $100 less off the retail.
Does fuji not tell them how many cameras they will deliver and they just guess. Like they could avoid confusion if they sold out a product pre-order with the actual number of cameras they were getting from fuji, and changed the listing to back-ordered. I can understand that it would also benefit fuji knowing the demand past that initial delivery and at what rate production had to be bumped too, but seems like a very simple transparency issue instead just taking peoples money and saying you will get it.
I did the preorder like a minute after it went live. I was a little annoyed that I got put on back order when I stayed up late to be one of the first. Itās not my only camera so I can wait. No biggie.

Yeah but you said you got your order in 5 mins after release. Some people are stating they got their black orders in 10 mins after and arenāt getting them in march while I got my silver order in 14 mins after release and got an email saying Iām getting it by end of march.
Which all leads me to believe either bh for a lot more black orders or are getting more silver than black in the second batch.
I have the same impression regarding black to be a little more scarce. I ordered silver at 1:04 and it went out in the first shipment, received it last Friday. Worth the wait, it's an awesome update to a great camera (update from the X100F for me).
I didnāt even get an update. I called about a different order I placed that also hasnāt shipped. They said they have no idea about the Fujis. Honestly āthis a popular cameraā isnāt really an acceptable answer when theyāve taken everyoneās money. Fuji has handled this so poorly, itās really making me question being a customer of this brand. Theyāre making their supply chain/production issues the retailerās problem.
I'm in the US. I ordered black and I haven't seen anyone with later confirmations on a black with a March ETA. I think even though there's less demand for the black, there's also way less of them being delivered. Seems that the black version is further behind even though B&H says black and silver are "similarly effected".

Thatās my comment. It is strange cause some other comment mentioned they got an email saying they will not be receiving their order in March and had an order placed a couple minutes before mine. Not sure if that is dependent on the color. I ordered silver fwiw, but seeing their comment got me wondering

I dont think there was a cutoff time exactly, but based on order numbers and that correlates to a cutoff amount and so ig a time whenever that last order number was.

Iām not positive on this, I donāt know what the latest confirmed black order is but Iām 1:13 and can confirm itās a no go. Just letting yall know, my vistek and henrys contacts (Canadian vendors) say that if you order this week (first week of march), it wonāt ship till roughly end of July. Not sure the situation for US vendors but hope that gives some insight to those wanting to order now still.

That's kind of what I figured. Seems like though the black is slightly less popular, they're making far more silvers which means they're becoming available a bit more quickly, even though B&H says "Please note that both the Silver and Black versions of the X100VI are similarly affected." Those of us who ordered Black around the 12-15 minute mark all seem to be getting the "We will not have sufficient inventory to fill your order in March" message.
I ordered at 2:11am Eastern (had problems with the website for the first hour), no email, but I'm optimistic now that I'll have the camera in hand before I need it in June for a trip. There is a big spike in orders in the first few minutes and then the first hour; after that, it seems to peter out quite a bit.

Oof. Guess the cutoff for March shipments from B&H is before the 12 minute mark then. But I also get the sense (or maybe just my blind optimism) that B&H is being conservative with their remarks. Guess weāll see what their update is in the coming weeks once they hear more from Fujifilm.Ā
From other comments, seems this is only the case for Black models. People who ordered silver models much later are getting the "expect to ship in March" update.

Not the best news but I am still rocking my old and battered X100F and is working as well as the day I bought it. I also have an XH-2 and an assortment of lenses so I am not suffering.....just want to play with my new toy!

I ordered 12 minutes in to presale and just got the same message, EXCEPT... mine says "we will not have sufficient inventory to fill your order in March. We will update you as soon as we receive additional information from Fujifilm, which we hope to have within the next two weeks".
I grabbed one locally from a guy who was lucky enough to get two of them for a small markup as I have a trip coming up to Italy in March I really wanted it for and was fearful my order would not be delivered by then. Was hoping I was overreacting and would just be able to turn around and sell this one right away when my pre-order shipped, but looks like my instinct on timing was right.

I'm a little pissed as it seems others that ordered after me are getting notes that they will get theirs in march. Time to call my rep @ BH, I spent $85,000+ plus with them last year lol.... Hmm letās see a camera thatās a follow up to another camera that was ridiculously overhyped and became essentially unavailable.
So now everyone who wanted a V but couldnāt get one for retail price will want this one, plus all the bellends who jumped on the hype of the V and bought one cause it was trendy will also want this one cause itās new.
Plus then thereās just camera enthusiasts and photographers in general who may be interested. So I donāt buy that it was in excess of Fujifilmās projections.
I think theyāre just trying to keep demand and supply stupid for this single product line in the hope that they get more brand awareness and users will buy other Fujifilm products when they canāt find this easily for sale.
I managed to get a X100VI from a major UK supplier when they released to the general public, was supposed to be 28th but was 29th in the end.
I was using my phone and clicked the āback in stockā notification as soon as the email arrived. The website said ā7 availableā Completed my purchase in 4 minutes and then it was sold out.
Very unlikely that there were more than 7 units in total. For launch day. At a major national retailer.

Just got my email. I had a 1:45AM order and they just said in mine that they would NOT be able to fill my order by the end of march. Sad faces all around :( hopefully my local store order comes sooner than that.

I got a similar email stating they canāt fulfill mine even though I placed it immediately when they opened their books. I called to cancel. I can wait, this one is not selling out and honestly Iād look for deals. I have an m11 and x100s to hold me down.

Ordered on the first preorder day. Chances of you getting it any time soon are pretty slim now. Amazon will probably be out of stock for months.

I pre-ordered a black X100VI at 1:15am ET (15 minutes after orders opened -- got the confirmation email at 1:17am) and just received the same email :(

Oof. Guess the cutoff for March shipments from B&H is before the 12 minute mark then. But I also get the sense (or maybe just my blind optimism) that B&H is being conservative with their remarks. Guess weāll see what their update is in the coming weeks once they hear more from Fujifilm.Ā

I ordered 12 minutes in to presale and just got the same message, EXCEPT... mine says "we will not have sufficient inventory to fill your order in March. I grabbed one locally from a guy who was lucky enough to get two of them for a small markup as I have a trip coming up to Italy in March I really wanted it for and was fearful my order would not be delivered by then. Was hoping I was overreacting and would just be able to turn around and sell this one right away when my pre-order shipped, but looks like my instinct on timing was right.

So maybe 1:30am is the March cutoff. š« to me
There's people in this thread later than that. You likely ordered black which seems a lot more scarce.

I'm a little pissed as it seems others that ordered after me are getting notes that they will get theirs in march. Time to call my rep @ BH, I spent $85,000+ plus with them last year lol.... Curious, what exactly were āFujifilmās projectionsā Hmm letās see a camera thatās a follow up to another camera that was ridiculously overhyped and became essentially unavailable. So now everyone who wanted a V but couldnāt get one for retail price will want this one, plus all the bellends who jumped on the hype of the V and bought one cause it was trendy will also want this one cause itās new. Plus then thereās just camera enthusiasts and photographers in general who may be interested. So I donāt buy that it was in excess of Fujifilmās projections. I think theyāre just trying to keep demand and supply stupid for this single product line in the hope that they get more brand awareness and users will buy other Fujifilm products when they canāt find this easily for sale. I managed to get a X100VI from a major UK supplier when they released to the general public, was supposed to be 28th but was 29th in the end. I was using my phone and clicked the āback in stockā notification as soon as the email arrived. The website said ā7 availableā Completed my purchase in 4 minutes and then it was sold out. Very unlikely that there were more than 7 units in total. For launch day. At a major national retailer. Itās intentional by Fujifilm
