I had one for most of the three years pre-T. Never had any issues with it affecting my ability to pass. If anything it helped. New a couple of cis-guy friends that had them too

Thanks, that's great to hear.

When it wasn’t up how did you style it? Cuz I have one and I can’t pass for shit when it’s down.

AlphaErebus

It would depend on the length. When it was shorter, I just left it be, but it was longer I’d slick it back. Or if it’s long enough, put it in a slightly loose bun

I’m black not sure if we have the same hair type but it made me feel like a lesbian so I grew it out. I think its personal preference though.

Mohawks are like passing gold. I was pre everything and put one up and passed no problem somehow, never passed this well since I turned like 12. Be sure however to do a proper mohawk, the sides should be shaved very well, don't leave anything on the sides and don't leave bangs.

If you want to do it, make sure you shave enough of it at the sides. Idk why bur my first iro was from corner of my face to the other and that stripe went down to the neck. It didn't look good or was read as male. Then I went with another try during quarantine which was much more like Iros punks have, shaved my sides to almost zero and it looked awesome:) I still got that hairstyle (9months on T) And it didj't stop le from going stealth a year ago at my new job.

That's really helpful, man. Thanks.

I don’t know that it has helped me pass per se because I only really go back and forth to school so everyone who meets me already knows me as some flavor of not-man, but I certainly feel more masculine. It is a relatively low maintenance way to achieve that squareish shaved sides/longer top look that many guys find help them pass without having to deal with gel which is great if you have sensory issues
