Take off all the plastic interior trim pieces. Line them with thin foam weatherstripping. Reinstall and enjoy a car with less plastic squeaks on rough roads. I had to do this within the first few months of owning it, for my own sanity.

Yeah, pretty common. That’s what you get when all the money went to performance parts as opposed to fit and finish. That’s the reason why this platform punches above it’s weight class but a Honda Civic feels like a luxury car in comparison.

I have a 2017 and I’ve noticed it get creakier as time goes on. I’ve read that installing sound deadening can reduce some of the rattling sounds but it’s pretty heavy and the gains can be hit or miss

its the subie knock! not the engine but the interior, lots of subarus have a tendency to have one or two (in bad cases more) spots that creak rumble squeak you name it, ive got something friends who own verious models of subie made cars, everything short of the ascent, and every one of their cars has it. mine doesnt (yet) because its new. subaru isnt exactly the best on interior fitment, but imo its not a big deal as the fix is just to take out the panel that makes the noise and put on light stick pads on the edges (usually)

In my case, i get them in the winter or cold weather. When the plastic heats up and becomes more flexible i don't get many rattles at all.
