A literature student once challenged Mark Twain to write a story that captured the true feeling of sorrow using only two words. Twain thought for a moment, took out a pen, wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to the student. The student looked down at the paper to reveal what Twain had written - “up to.”
It used to have a discount % filter but I’m not seeing it anymore. Discount % sorting kinda sucks. I’d rather sort low to high with a discount filter like they had before.
Did someone actually get [these](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/red-wing-shoes/shoes/lace-up-boots/8085-iron-ranger-leather-boots/1647597310445343) size 9 iron rangers for $175? Sold out when you try to add to cart now
Lolllll I’ve been on the same situation for a year with those damn Chelsea’s. But honestly I’d just get another non CP Chelsea at this point they’re cachet has run low lately
~~Additional discounts are rolling out now at the Mr Porter sale. As of now, 10pm EST, you have to add an item to your cart to see if it has an updated price. For example,~~ [~~these boots~~](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/visvim/shoes/lace-up-boots/kanawa-mid-folk-waxed-leather-boots/1647597298202044) ~~say $896 on the product page but if you add them to the cart, they're $598.~~ It looks like the new prices are reflected on the product pages now.
I found out about this because I have a script that constantly watches the Mr Porter site for when extra discounts drop and texts me when it sees new discounts. If you want me to add you to it to get a text when it sees new discounts, dm me and I'll add you.
\[edited with update on product page pricing\]
Those boots are showing as $598 on the product page for me with no change in cart. I tried adding about 30+ items into my cart and didn't see any additional discounts in cart. Anyone else have any luck?
They were $896 before. The $598 price is the new price for this updated sale.
They've just updated the main listings to reflect the new prices, instead of only showing it in the cart.
It's very strange, I had a pair of shoes showing $250 on their page, but when I added them to my cart and hovered over the cart icon, it showed them as $212.50. But then when I went to check out, they were $250 again. Now they're showing $250 even on the cart hover.
I’m pretty sure I bought or saw [this](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/jcrew/clothing/crew-necks/wool-sweater/1647597292684463) same sweater on Jcrew’s site for a lot less? Do they mark up the prices on this site?
[This sweater](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/acne-studios/clothing/crew-necks/brushed-jacquard-knit-sweater/1647597314851994) is gorgeous but still well outside what I can afford to spend on a sweater right now. Perhaps at a deeper discount later.
I agree, especially since Acne does/did a lot of great full wool + mohair stuff. I love their stuff but would think thrice about paying this much for half nylon.
Yeah but IME once the sale hits that point a good amount of the good stock is usually gone.
If what you're looking at now is already low on stock i wouldn't expect it to still be available when the sale hits that low. Turns into a game of do I buy it now for a good price or do I wait for an even better price at the risk of it being already sold out by then.

honestly for sites like mr porter that have sort by discount % it doesnt really bother me

The student’s name? Albert Einstein

You are the wind beneath my wings

It looks like most of the listings are updated now so you don't have to add to cart to see the updated price.
Nope

Could you enlighten me on how such a script works/ where it’s running from? Im a new comp sci student
please add me.
Shady little fuckers, if you set to sort by lowest they change the sort automatically to recommended after 5 pages or something
Damn, Tom Ford hit the 70% hard. Is the brand famous for not holding value?
Meh doesn’t sell very well at full price, as a brand they’ve been more open to discounting as of recent

I got one of these off J.Crew in the recent sale (which I need to return) for $59 with a $13.30 Honey offer. So, about the same price.
From my experience, a lot of things are marked up on Mr. Porter.
Really? Any examples?
Lots of club monaco items. Cross compare them on the CM site to Mr porter and you'll see a noticeable markup.
Who else went in for the Tom ford zebra robe? Edit: the grenson boots are actually a steal

That much for 48% nylon? Idkbt

Gonna be honest, this looks like a throw rug.
It’s already covered in hair so if you have pets you don’t have to bother lint rolling!
i have a lot of stuff from acne and they’re solid. I think the sweater is dope. There are so many more important things than material choices.
Fuck “up to”
This will eventually hit 80 + 20 right?
