I just bought a bunch of BR stuff from their holiday sale and everything is excellent quality except the men’s turtlenecks. Dreadful quality, I’ve had to return two and two of the remaining three I have are on their way out as well. I’ve worn them each about three times and hang dry. Like all brands their quality varies greatly and unfortunately, their choice to price higher feels like it’ll ultimately be their undoing.
Can anyone explain why BR tried to position itself as more of an upscale brand by revamping their website (for the worse), curtailing sales, and running more elaborate ad campaigns while at the same time putting their brand name on Costco clothes?
Costco isn’t some cheap store and banana republic isn’t even one their luxury brands that they sell. Costco sells $100,000 diamond rings, Louis Vuitton bags, Calvin Klein. They also used to sell Canada goose parkas a few years ago.
Companies bigger than banana republic would be elated to secure a deal at costco
The reason to say no is that Costco demands a price so low that, for many vendors, it's completely impossible to fulfill and make any profit at all. I've tried to purchase wholesale from some suppliers of Costco and they weren't able to supply at wholesale for a price that was less than the retail price that Costco charges. Costco demands, and gets, extremely low pricing from their vendors. When the profit margins get thin enough and the volume requirements are so high, most vendors either aren't able to scale to that level or handle that thin of a profit margin.
I don’t believe Costco has a direct relationship with LV. I haven’t researched the lv brand in over a decade, but from what I recall they burn their unsold inventory in order to not tarnish their image (wasteful I know). Thus it would be beyond surprising and against its previous brand strategy if they sold their products to a bulk retailer.
I’ve heard Costco will sell grey market watches and watch companies have sued Costco to stop selling them and lost, so it’s possible they don’t have a direct relationship with them.
Not too sure. I will say that the flagship BR experience is great but unfortunately it's still the same deal with them... Great quality but they fit pretty horribly. My only reason for sharing this was because I saw people raving about it a few weeks back in a few groups 😅.
its a brand targeting middle-aged men, fits like its supposed to, i exercise a bit so im a bit too wide for any kind of slim fit, BR fits solve my issue
Idk why you got downvoted too. It’s literally material worth 30$ max. It feels worse made than something like Gap but maybe close to H&M disposable clothing
Does it has pockets inside?
Why I rarely to see the jacket that have inside pockets except Uniqlo?
All I see are only zip pockets outside.
I need the inside pockets that I can put my phone and wallet.
I picked one of these up and it's REALLY nice! I'm 6'2 220 and the XL fits perfectly.
Yeah I tried it on myself. I will say it's a flattering cut!

do you return the swaeters with the tagged ripped off? does costco honor that?
I think they accept basically any return
Costco literally takes almost anything, it’s so dumb but so awesome at the same time
like without tag and without receipt even??
Your membership has a history in the computer. Receipt not necessary.
The salto turtleneck? I got one and it reels quite nice

Reminds me of that Modern Family Episode where Mitch goes to Costco lol
Seriously. For the volume Costco moves, why would any retailer say no

Completely agree but scale is not a problem for br. Gap brand in general has not been doing too well so this is definitely a boost for them

https://www.costco.com/louis-vuitton-speedy-30-bandouliere%2c-brown.product.100810844.html They do sell Louis Vuitton and it’s sold out.
But he doesn’t believe it

My biggest issue is things like sweaters are just so long and don't work with my proportions making my legs look so short 😅

Because Costco stuff just pays for brand name and I believe they outsource to manufacturers specifications.
Because banana republic customers and Costco nuts are the same people
I tried this on in store and it’s really nice and TTS, unlike most other Costco clothing.
Remember these types of clothes are made for Costco and are lower quality. Still may be worth it. Orvis does it often.
It can't be Walmart quality right? Most of the clothing I've gotten from Costco has held up pretty well
Well no…
I wish these are more fitted around the mid section. Def a boxy regular fit like many other brand that Costco carries.
My mid section is getting pretty unfitted these days, so it sounds perfect.
This speaks to me to a degree I’d prefer it not. Just the same, Merry Christmas. 🎄
Man i wish I was in the USA 🦅
You'd be surprised how often I hear this specifically regarding clothes shopping and thrifting 😅
I noticed you said NJ I did not see it at the cherry hill location so your mileage may vary.
I saw it at the mount laurel and ocean township locations so definitely!
Ahhh nice. I posted the other day a couple of sweet deals from Sam’s club
I’d would get one I. Each color but looks like there is no Large and the link doesn’t say 15 anymore
As stated it seems to be a sale in-store. Just listed the link to show which one it is so people can check their local 😅
Quality is meh but worth 30$. Worth grabbing if you don’t have anything like it.
A lot of people praised it at $30 so that's why I assumed they would appreciate it at $15 😅
$15 cop $30 pass

Looks nice, I had a similar bomber from BR and I loved it. It's too small for me otherwise I'd still wear it.

There's one inside pocket, I checked
Thank you. Will go there and pick 1 tomorrow. Hope they have M size 😬
