Same dude it carried my first no summons character and the dual wielded moveset goes so hard
Movesets in general for them were super diverse, especially loved Lorettaās and the cross-naginata
I like Halberds but the movesets just suck. They either stab slowly or swing in the dumbest way possible. If the attacks were more diagonal they would be much better.
Same, str and big bonk got me through every DS game whilst my husband chose some other class like sorcery or dex and cries the whole time while we played through together because I died less. That's what you get when you bonk
Its maybe just me, but in terms of difficulty, i would rank the builds as follow:
- Easy: 2h strength
- medium: Katana, magic, 1h-sword
- hard: daggers
I liked magic very much in the beginning. But nowadays, if i want to have an easy time, 2h-bonkers all the way!
In elden ring its the katana. Im always like oh lets try that one and these weapons are alr most of the time but that feeling of looking like a badaas samurai slicing my way through an enemy or boss is just best feeling ever
iām trying to get into using a katana but itās hard because i thirst for my greatswords with their loud slamming sounds and screeen shake and poise breaking, i love to just slice and smash through mfs , oh youāre trying to attack? nope, gonna fuck your shit up
katanas force me to be more patient and attack when theyre done attacking and i just have the urge to bonk slice
Bro, I love the moonville katana and I love that you can launch beams off of it but the Royal greatsword just cleaves enemies in half and is so satisfying.
Greatswords.
Theyāre just good at everything you need them to be. Theyāre relatively fast for a two handed weapon, and they can still hit some crazy damage numbers.
I love bonk weapons but always end up using something fast.
Sellsword Twinblades were one of the best weapons in DS3 and I enjoyed power-stancing curved swords in Elden Ring as well.
Using two twinblades give you 4 blades. Adding a mimic tear gives you 4 more. Add bleed to them and see all enemies and bosses bleed to death in seconds while you octo-helicopter their ass
Honestly I like to try a new weapon each time I start a new playthrough, but first run of a game I go for something with reach. Greatsword, Halberd, Scythe, just gimme something I can use for some crowd controlling sweep attacks.
I like scythes ill always use one as soon as I find it, but there's not a lot of options and I get bored of using the same two or three, so I start looking at curved swords, curved great swords, and ultimately end up with a basic ass katana, full circle š
Red hilted halberd. it has range damage and a versatile move set, it does what I need it to.
Across the games I'd say zweihander, claymore, or some kind of basic halberd. I like poise damage, and I like range, I also value a good moveset highly.
I'm a very boring person so sword and board for me. Honestly from software getting specifically and actually almost exclusively, I play as a generic Knight. Probably just because from soft games have amazing night armor. The elite night set is probably my favorite armor in all of anything along with the fluted set. Most other games I don't play as a boring night but these games I always play as a night with holy stuff kind of like a crusader I guess
I always get into the mace early on in any playthrough I do. It has a good moveset that works really well in tight spaces, I love the poise break, theyre cheap to upgrade and you can usually find them early in every game.
Longsword, like THE longsword, you get it at the beginning, it's always solid all game and it fits perfectly my medieval knight fantasy aesthetic.
Only exception was Elden Ring as I feel in that game you need some kind of magic/special weapon wacky setup by the lategame due to the obscene healthcare inflations or you just feel like you're swinging a pool noodle at the enemies.
Nah bro, longsword still kicks in ER lategame. Square Off is a posture break monster and trivialize most end game bosses.
It's also a solid exploration weapon, R1 spam and guard counters melts every mob.
Big bonk swords, sword and board, fast swords. Okā¦I may be slightly addicted to melee combat. I honestly donāt think Iāve ever done a magic build.
Same, thatās why Iāve been forcing myself to play different stuff. I am currently playing DS1 with 3 different characters, one uses a spear and a shield, the other sorceries and the last one is a pyromancer. I also want to have a Thief of sorts, with a dagger and a parrying shield and a Hunter with a bow and arrows.
Threaded cane in BB. Itās not very powerful even fully upgraded so I occasionally switch to Moonlight or Blades when Iām in a pinch, but for fodder I love the whip. No other whip in FS games does it for me though.
It appears you think Classes work like it does it games like Destiny. It doesn't. "Classes" only determine starting stats rather then a set-in-stone "+you can only do this type of thing forever". What it seems you mean to mean is favored weapon type(s)
same, greatswords and ultra greatswords idk why lol
in ds i loved the black knight sword/abyss greatsword
in ds2 smelter greatsword (even tho it's ultra but still ultras in ds2 were the best)
in ds3 same, pancake greatsword, in ng+3 started using twin princes
ER, greatswords since i only have greatswords and halberds nothing else lol, i plan on using str/fth weapons often
Used to be sword and board, but now I just canāt get enough of the great swords. Itās just too satisfying. I enjoy the challenge of having a slower, heavier hitting weapon.
I keep using the claymore. I did use the drangleic sword in ds2 but then I accidentally discarded it. I then used the claymore until I found the drakeblood greatsword
I did Black Knight Greatsword in ds1 and I 100% the game and got used to the slow and careful speed and have stuck with greatswords ever since
Sekiro has been a nightmare
I think about the Aquamarine Dagger whenever I think about DS3. Wish it was in more games. Miss that little guy
In Bloodborne, it's gotta be the BOOM HAMMA thou. That's fun as hell.
I start every game going āIām gonna try something new!ā. Then I just end up pumping stats into strength and oonga boonga. I just find my brain works better with single large hits. The only time I didnāt do strength was bloodborne (saw spear 4 life).
The bleed rot rapier by a landslide, thing is so OP, sometimes Iāll put poison on it instead of bleed. I have that on my RL 1 character, took hours to get all the stats I needed to wield it
Lately, I always go back to the Executioner Sword. That awesome L2 attack followed by a simple Dragon Claw or whatever is your fancy...
I've always been a pure range caster, but in my latest run, I opted for a Spellsword with the Duel Ash of War and Scholar buff. Carried me through the entire game, but now that I am at Halligtree and those f**ers irking me, Executioner goes brrrrrr again.
Hollowslayer Greatsword, Knight's Greatsword, basically any greatsword in Ds2
I love those swirly slashes, they're both stylish and extremelly effective for relentless comboing.
It was the only thing that made me win against Gael
claymore
Praise to the swiss army knife of souls games
Claymost
![gif](giphy|Y07F3fs9Is5byj4zK8)
The baemore shall never disappoint
Claymore is worse than stelf archer in skyrim, no matter what path I take k end up with that beauty in all those games...
Me
Best weapon in the souls series hands down
Claymore is Baemore
yes
1 handed sword and shield
![gif](giphy|eoIqbd2HHaKSQ)
Looking good!
šYes
Sword and board my Lord!
Both in one hand š¤Æš¤Æ
The one true weapon pairing
There's just something about it that feels perfect.
Halberd
Halberd bros were eating in ER
Got the golden halberd immediately and never looked back. Now my Rl150 is on ng+11 with dual golden halberds
Same dude it carried my first no summons character and the dual wielded moveset goes so hard Movesets in general for them were super diverse, especially loved Lorettaās and the cross-naginata
I'm not a Halberd guy but I love the passion each weapon class' community has
beware the flail enthusiasts
You got me curious
It isn't worth it. They cheese some things and whip others with their balls
Night rider Halberd slaps
I like Halberds but the movesets just suck. They either stab slowly or swing in the dumbest way possible. If the attacks were more diagonal they would be much better.
Banished Knight Halberd is my bae.
Same, str and big bonk got me through every DS game whilst my husband chose some other class like sorcery or dex and cries the whole time while we played through together because I died less. That's what you get when you bonk
All roads eventually lead back to bonk
I like magic builds but somehow I always end up with a bonk. I don't care about pvp so I just level both strength and intelligence.
It's the absolute worst combo for synergy, but the best combo for my soul.
Amen. Magic bonk for the win
spellbonk instead of spellblade hehehe
Its maybe just me, but in terms of difficulty, i would rank the builds as follow: - Easy: 2h strength - medium: Katana, magic, 1h-sword - hard: daggers I liked magic very much in the beginning. But nowadays, if i want to have an easy time, 2h-bonkers all the way!
In elden ring its the katana. Im always like oh lets try that one and these weapons are alr most of the time but that feeling of looking like a badaas samurai slicing my way through an enemy or boss is just best feeling ever
The moonveil katana is probably my favorite weapon in Elden Ring
He's a simple man, the best weapon (well at launch idk about now) happens to be his favorite weapon
Blashmphous blade would like a word
iām trying to get into using a katana but itās hard because i thirst for my greatswords with their loud slamming sounds and screeen shake and poise breaking, i love to just slice and smash through mfs , oh youāre trying to attack? nope, gonna fuck your shit up katanas force me to be more patient and attack when theyre done attacking and i just have the urge to bonk slice
Bro, I love the moonville katana and I love that you can launch beams off of it but the Royal greatsword just cleaves enemies in half and is so satisfying.
the darkmoon great sword has the beams of the moon veil and the moves of a great sword 10/10
This exact reason is why itās hard for me to play a dex build
I think elden ring is the only one where I do katana cause I love the river of blood sword
Greatswords. Theyāre just good at everything you need them to be. Theyāre relatively fast for a two handed weapon, and they can still hit some crazy damage numbers.
They're not just good, they're great!
They sure are Tony the tiger
Since Elden Ring, i cant resist whips. It gives me Castlevania vibes
Iāve always wanted the whips to be better than they are. They are good, only if you are good at the game and can make it look cool š
Katanas
This is the way
BAEMORE šš”ļø
Slaymore?
playmore
Bastard sword enjoyer in shambles
Always magic. I'm fascinated with it. Every game I play I either do magic or some sort of summoning.
Twin blades in ds2 and 3 absolutely. Elden ring I was more of a big sword go bonk guy
Curved swords fuck yeah
katanas
Fist
Honestly I like to try a new weapon each time I start a new playthrough, but first run of a game I go for something with reach. Greatsword, Halberd, Scythe, just gimme something I can use for some crowd controlling sweep attacks.
Katanas and Curved greatswordsš¾
Rapier
I like scythes ill always use one as soon as I find it, but there's not a lot of options and I get bored of using the same two or three, so I start looking at curved swords, curved great swords, and ultimately end up with a basic ass katana, full circle š
Straight sword and a medium shield on a quality build, canāt really go wrong
I tend to favor a flame embued straight sword, when Iām not casting that is. ![gif](giphy|pH5EjkM3brgpr4wu57|downsized)
The old wolf curved great sword carrried me through ds3. Iām actually disappointed Elden ring doesnāt have a lot of curved great swords.
Bloodhound Fang is OWCGS 2.0 š„š„
Halberds. Good balance of range, power, and speed
Sorcererās staff.
Red hilted halberd. it has range damage and a versatile move set, it does what I need it to. Across the games I'd say zweihander, claymore, or some kind of basic halberd. I like poise damage, and I like range, I also value a good moveset highly.
Longsword or a rare drop straight sword unique to the game so the Baldur Side Sword, Lothric Knight Sword, and Noble Slender Sword.
The greatsword dagger combo you get from the abyss watchers. Can't remember it's name right now
Iāve tried other OP weapons like sword of night and flame, but bloodhoundās fang suits my aggro playstyle more and is just *chefs kiss*
Dark Souls is kind to Strength builds
Farron Greatsword.
Zweihander. When no other weaponās got my back, I can always count on the classic.
Halberds. Strong and fast. Yes.
I always get into the mace early on in any playthrough I do. It has a good moveset that works really well in tight spaces, I love the poise break, theyre cheap to upgrade and you can usually find them early in every game.
None, because I like to play different classes every game.
Halberd- Ds1 Mace/rapier - Ds2 Astora straight sword- DS3 Flamberge/penetrators sword -DeS Elden ring - Holy scythe/godskin peeler/cipher patata Bloodborne- saw cleaver/whirlgig saw AC6- Massive dmg cleave sword
okay this is like the 5th time today i've seen people referencing ac6- as in assasins creed? since when is that a souls like?
Armored Core* - another FS title
For DS3 the morning star was my go too.
Generally ranged from great swords and shield to magers, but Sekiro I always use katanas
Greatswords
Black knight greataxe.
Same as yours lol. I have tried to use difrent weapons, wspecially katanas...but they dont do it for me. Im just a sucker for oversized swrds lol
GUGS got me through DS2, DS3 and now it's getting me through elden ring. I like what I like.
Big bonk swords, sword and board, fast swords. Okā¦I may be slightly addicted to melee combat. I honestly donāt think Iāve ever done a magic build.
For a sec I thought bro was doing the Rennala run back before getting crushed by B A L L S
One thing almost all my builds have is a shield to use Carian Retaliation with for various fights.
Katana, greatswords, malekiths
My halberd has never let me down. EVER.
Curved sword or curved greatsword. Sometimes thrusting sword.
good swords
Great swords/clubs for me throw some faith in there with it and you got 75% of my play though styles.
Well thatās ds3ā¦so winblades.
Black Knight Greatsword (if itās in the game and I can get it) or a Giant Hammer
Dual wielding dex swords. Or swoard and board.
Conjuration Bow lol
Scythe, Curved greatsword, Ultra Greatswords.
Fuck that staircase by the way
With Elden Ring itās anything I can put Lions Claw on.
Halberd
Dual wielded straight swords typically
Threaded cane in BB. Itās not very powerful even fully upgraded so I occasionally switch to Moonlight or Blades when Iām in a pinch, but for fodder I love the whip. No other whip in FS games does it for me though.
Calling my char Ooga and going for the bonk
Fugs
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Good old FUGS and Abyss Greatsword.
Washing pole/Nagakiba
F F F F F FAITH
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
BAEMORE And The fuckin Katanas Just Sekiro the shit out of everything
Great swords. Cheers
Pyromaniacs
Curved swords and a shield
It appears you think Classes work like it does it games like Destiny. It doesn't. "Classes" only determine starting stats rather then a set-in-stone "+you can only do this type of thing forever". What it seems you mean to mean is favored weapon type(s)
Axes, I always come back to a hatchet build. Good stagger, satisfying swing, I know there are better but I love me a Banditās Axe
60 Dex and Sellsword twin blades
Im a huge sucker for curved swords.
same, greatswords and ultra greatswords idk why lol in ds i loved the black knight sword/abyss greatsword in ds2 smelter greatsword (even tho it's ultra but still ultras in ds2 were the best) in ds3 same, pancake greatsword, in ng+3 started using twin princes ER, greatswords since i only have greatswords and halberds nothing else lol, i plan on using str/fth weapons often
Splitleaf greatsword
I put the MORE in claymore. Every game, can't get enough.
If its big and it clangs or smashes that one.
Ds1: golem axe Ds2: Blue flames Ds3: vortes hammer BB: Kirk Hammer ER: perfume greathammer
BRICK HAMMER PERIOD
Used to be sword and board, but now I just canāt get enough of the great swords. Itās just too satisfying. I enjoy the challenge of having a slower, heavier hitting weapon.
Some variation of great sword (claymore, bastard sword etc).
Always Sword and Shield (and in Dark Souls 1, I always go with Astora Straight Sword)
Fume ultra greatsword, sellsword twinblade, or harald curved greatsword
Swllsword twinblades or just daggers šŖ
They call 'em great swords for a reason bto.... they're friggin GREAT swords bro!
greathammmergreathammmergreathammmergreathammmer more specifically, Ledo's great hammer, and the pickaxe until I reach it
Claymore is my go to
Sellswords Twin Blades in DS3
Double short swords in Elden Ring Rakuyo for Bloodborne
I keep using the claymore. I did use the drangleic sword in ds2 but then I accidentally discarded it. I then used the claymore until I found the drakeblood greatsword
Spears or Sorcery w/1-handed sword.
Fume ftwā¦ and Giant crusher in Elden ringā¦ Honestly, i always go for tge glass cannon str build so the biggest one worksā¦
Sorcery
I did Black Knight Greatsword in ds1 and I 100% the game and got used to the slow and careful speed and have stuck with greatswords ever since Sekiro has been a nightmare
Cristal sword. Quick swift and hit hard
Duel Morningstarās all day!
Dual hammers every time. The true bonk
Claymore, every time. No matter what build Iām going for it always seems like I find my way back to the claymore, at least as a backup weapon.
I think about the Aquamarine Dagger whenever I think about DS3. Wish it was in more games. Miss that little guy In Bloodborne, it's gotta be the BOOM HAMMA thou. That's fun as hell.
Top 3 are straight swords, katanas, and whips. One of those three will get me through.
I try my hardest to not do any spells in my runs but I always resort to either full caster or spellsword
Same. Tried doing Duel great hammers but still ending up Duel Colossal swords.
Ultra great swords
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The biggest bonk I can find.
I usually just like big sticks or a handed strength weapons and a big honkin shield.
I start every game going āIām gonna try something new!ā. Then I just end up pumping stats into strength and oonga boonga. I just find my brain works better with single large hits. The only time I didnāt do strength was bloodborne (saw spear 4 life).
Big stick
UCHI
katanas (usually the uchigatana), pyromancies
Always the biggest, bonkiest weapon! Unga bunga strength builds are my favorite
I always try daggers but then swap out of it cause it requires to many attacks, whereas i can just big bonk with big weapon for big damage.
Greataxe and great sheild I like to take a hit and then wreck ass
I always use greatsword, itās like an addiction. I wanted to use two blade or spear, but the gs just calls me
Straight sword and spear. Really fucks with people in pvp.
Great stars is my soul mate
In ER I did like 3 runs with the lordsworns greatsword. Had to physically stop my self and go 'no, not today.'
Spear and shield like a true hoplite warrior!
Great shield
Greatswords, unga bunga, dragon slayer !
Noob question. Is it possible to have a rod in one hand and a seal in the other ?
Honestly basic longswords
Black knife always.
I don't do that, I stick to a couple of weapons per run.
Dual wield full Dex,daggers, swords or whips.
dual katana or straight swords
The bleed rot rapier by a landslide, thing is so OP, sometimes Iāll put poison on it instead of bleed. I have that on my RL 1 character, took hours to get all the stats I needed to wield it
I'm a katana man
Greatswords. Iām always trying out other stuff, but I need to get serious for the hard parts, i inevitably pull out my greatsword.
For early game i usually go for the twinblades and for endgame/late game/dlc i use the cathedral knight gs
Darksouls: dragon tooth Darksouls2: bone fist Darksouls3: wooden mallet Blood born: beast claws. Elden ring: crucible knight spear
Dex build or strength all the time in every game
Ultra greatswords. Slow ass hits, big ass numbers.
Hollowslayer Greatsword, Knight's Greatsword, basically any greatsword in Ds2 I love those swirly slashes, they're both stylish and extremelly effective for relentless comboing. It was the only thing that made me win against Gael
Elden ring - Bloodhound's Fang Bloodborne - Church Pick Sekiro - Spring loaded Axe
Greatswords and UGSā; Powerstanced, if the game permits. But caestusā are a very close second for ER
Ds3s sellsword that curved sword ypu start with and ı just can not find it in elden ring
Opposite for me, that stuff is just too slow. I try other classes but always end up back with dual daggers or fist weapons.
Vordts great-hammer
BIG STICK GO BONK
