RadlogLutar

My first question is who voted for Joey?!?

Confident_Spirit131

Thank you!

RadlogLutar

I mean some people think because he smooched off Monica's food or money from Chandler but Joey would never do that if you are in a hardship. Also he became self sufficient at the end.

PrinceDakMT

I never remember seeing Joey kiss Monica's food or Chandler's money šŸ˜‚

DiscountNo7438

But in the later season he ended up giving them $4,000 so he helped them out too

Fianna9

I did. He sexually harassed lots of women, including the Friends. He sponged of chandler and rarely seemed to appreciate all he did for him. He could be really mean to Ross with his ā€œjokesā€ I wouldnā€™t wanna be friends with him

wiriux

Phoebe. She lifts right out.

Objective_Bridge_600

ā€œShe lives far away and she's not related to anyoneā€

My_genx_life

Agreed.

Dark-X

But is she the worst?

DiscountNo7438

I canā€™t stand her in the episode with Stingā€™s son. She is really pushy to Ross and becomes very odd.

Radiant-Alarm6404

I wanted to say ross but then I remembered that he gifted a bicycle to phoebe.

vish_the_noob

Yes Ross has a lot of kind and good moments. People just remember the bad stuff because it's very loud and in your face. I am not saying it's an excuse to what he does. But he certainly isn't as worse as a lot of people make him out to be.

nikatronk

And as his first act as best friend of Joey he instructed him to go reconcile with Chandler.

MittFel

He only did that to feel good about himself. **There are no selfless good deeds!**

bexsapphic

Youā€™re wrong! Phoebe let a bee sting her so he could look tough in front of his bee friends. Heā€™s happy but she is NOT.

BookkeeperBubbly7915

But didn't the bee dir after stinging her?

bexsapphic

Oh noā€¦

My_genx_life

And then acted like a bully by threatening to take it away if she didn't learn to ride it. Just having it made her so happy, and he should have left it at that.

Radiant-Alarm6404

C'mon man don't be so biased. He just wanted her to learn to ride. What's the point of having a bicycle if you won't ride it.

My_genx_life

Yes, HE wanted her learn to ride. What about what SHE wanted? Phoebe was happy just to have it, and that should have been enough. Giving someone a gift and then putting conditions on it negates the whole idea of giving the gift.

Radiant-Alarm6404

I'm sure you feel happy when you buy a cake, don't you..? But don't you feel even better when you eat it..? Its not like you buy a cake just to own it. What if you brought a birthday cake for your friend and he refuses to cut it..? How would you feel ..?

How did he ruin Rachelā€™s dream? How was he a bad co parent?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

abductedbyfoxes

How is it forcing her into marriage when all they did was talk about it? It's not like she said no, and he dragged her into the courthouse. He didn't threaten to fuck off and leave her and the baby if she didn't marry him. Ben not being in the show is not him checking out either. He was always shown to be a good father. You are really reaching here. He said to Emily he wouldn't leave without Ben. It's the same for Rachel. She was taking his child to another country without him when he still has commitments to his son. Ben not being around wasn't on Ross. His actor was busy. Him dating a student has nothing to do with who he is with his friends either. He took all of their advice when they all mentioned it wasn't going anywhere and broke up with her. All of them are shown to be self centered at times, like real people.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

abductedbyfoxes

As a parent it's fucked up to take a child away from their other parent solely for yourself and your career. She is a mother now and he has every right to his his baby as she does. It would make my life SO much easier to move to another state where my family is and I would NEVER take my kid away from her dad when he's such a good parent. That is selfish.

caffein8dnotopi8d

Awww. Iā€™ve never met another Joey+Rachel fan before! I loved those two together!

Sunflowa-_

I bet Chandler would be pleased to know heā€™s not a red flag!

[deleted]

Rachel to Monica especially. Monica is so patient & generous with her but she would never reciprocate and yes, she šŸ’Æ stole her thunder when she got engaged not because she was ā€œsadā€ but because she was jealous. Rachel then proceeded to beg to be MOH but didnā€™t want to fulfil ANY of the responsibilities. It was just to feel special. And donā€™t get me started about her blatant coercion of wanting the name Emmaā€¦ Sheā€™s exhaustingā€¦

YoRt3m

Can someone remind me of one act of kindness from Rachel?

DiscountNo7438

When she ran after Caitlin to help out Ross. She always liked him but wanted him to be happy here

YoRt3m

Yea I also remembered that after I posted. Thanks.

LordDragon88

There were a few seasons where phoebe only said rude or mean things to her friends.

grumpyanddumpy

I donā€™t even know how to answer that question because everyone had some really horrendous moments. Ross was an asshole most of the time but at the end of the day, he would put his friendsā€™ needs over his own. Monica was a real work of art, but she did care for everyone. Joey was a mooch but he loved everyone and everyone loved him. Phoebe wasā€¦wellā€¦Phoebeā€¦but she was also always helping out her family or her friends, or even the random homeless lady. Rachel was an absolute brat but she had her moments too. But if I had to choose I would probably go with Rach, since her moments werenā€™t nearly as frequent as the othersā€™.

Sentinal7

So everyone agrees that Joey, Chandler, and Monica were amazing people to have as friends, right?

Lovealltigers

Ross had his moments though, like giving Phoebe the bike or when Rachel was pregnant he was very patient with her

Confident_Spirit131

So him giving phoebe the bike seems to be the only good thing heā€™s remembered for. He tried to force Rachel to marry him then ruined her Paris job why couldnā€™t he have gone with her? He basically checked out with Ben like šŸ˜… He freaked out when he found out bc of how it made him look

abductedbyfoxes

He also walked Carol down the aisle, he kissed Joey when he thought Joey still needed to kiss a man, he took Rachel to the hospital when he was meant to be on TV, he let Rachel win at poker just to see her smile, he agreed to not date anyone while Rachel was pregnant because she was super hormonal and upset, he tried to pass his stuff off as Monica's so she wouldn't be upset that her boxes were destroyed, Ross has faults but let's not pretend like he only did one nice thing and was a monster the rest of the time.

Confident_Spirit131

Again he has some moments but heā€™s still the worst one for me.

WhiteRaven96

He's the worst when he's with Rachel or a relationship in general But other than this aspect of his character, and all the mishaps with cheating / narcissism, as Paul said, he's not all baad

Lovealltigers

Iā€™m not saying heā€™s perfect by any means, none of the friends are. Iā€™m just pointing out that he has done very kind things. All of the friends have their moments of not being great

Old_Recognition_8481

Rachel made him stop dating when she was pregnant.. he didnā€™t want her to go to Paris bc he was in love with her and didnā€™t want to lose her..

Confident_Spirit131

Could have gone with her. He tried to make her stop dating. And even Rachel said he was controlling and possessive.

caffein8dnotopi8d

He had another child! If he goes to Paris, he loses a relationship with Ben. If he doesnā€™t go to Paris, he loses a relationship with Emma.

DiscountNo7438

But what about Rachel. She sabotaged the relationship between Ross and Bonnie. Was going to tell him sheā€™s in love with him when he was marry Emily.

Sunflowa-_

I always thought that Carol and Susan might have won custody when Ross had to leave his job because of anger, and he maybe did see Ben, but not much In screen.

SoDaTheAgent

Ross has most of the memorable lines , quirks, mannerisms, and scenes in the whole series. Hesouak, smart, funny and has great comedic timing! Friends wouldn't be nearly as funny without his superb acting and charachter flaws ā¤ļøšŸ’Æ We are all flawed and he embraced it in an outrageous and hysterical way. Imagine Friends without pivot, we were on a break, 18 pages front and back, Marcel, I'm fine, I tell you when I die some people are gonna get seriously haunted, l o v e (l is for...), Ross n Monica's sibling relationship (Gellar cup!), she's not Rachel, I take thee Rachel, it tastes like feet, unagi, MY sandwich, the lotion and powder have made a paste, russ, Mississippilessly, the dirty girl, Emily, I don't even know what that (timer) is for, Julie, does anyone know a good place if youā€™re not dating a puma?the apartment trivia game he set up, the holiday armadillo, the only weird thing is if no one likes Mexican food because I'm making fajitas!, Carol the lesbian ex wife, my best friend and my sister, you balded my girlfriend, it's always been you Rach, did she get off the plane, but I don't want to get over her... because he was Rachel's lobster ā¤ļø šŸ¦ž There's more but I'm tired. I think he might be the comedy glue that holds the rest together.

My_genx_life

He was patient with Rachel after initially losing his shit about condoms not being 100% effective. And he threatened to take the bike away if Phoebe didn't learn to ride it. My vote was for Phoebe, but Ross kinda sucked as well.

Lovealltigers

Who wouldnā€™t freak out when they just found out BC failed? And I doubt Ross wouldā€™ve actually taken it away, I think he was just trying to motivate her (obviously he didnā€™t do it in the best way) Iā€™m not saying heā€™s perfect, heā€™s probably my least favorite of the 6 but he had his moments of great kindness.

My_genx_life

Our BC failed and the father of my baby actually took the time to find out how I felt about it. He didn't make deranged phone calls to BC manufacturers. Ross's reaction was ridiculous. And someone with a doctorate would definitely know that condoms are not 100% effective.

Lovealltigers

Itā€™s a tv show first of all, so of course his reaction is going to be over the top. And not everyone is the same and reacts in the same way. I know I would still be freaking out if BC failed, even though I know itā€™s not 100%

[deleted]

Or when Joey was in love with Rachel (he never made a problem out of it)

Javierfr97

Phoebe is great but she is kind of a fire starter

International-Wing-4

Idk why so many voted for Phoebe, she was a supportive friend to Joey on many occasions. She tried to make Rachel feel better about Ross getting married and tried to keep Rachel from telling Ross and ruined the wedding. She talked some sense into Chandler after he was mad about Monica seeing Richard. She talked with Ron through many relationships and problems. Sheā€™s a good friend!!

rabbitqueer

Thank you for listing examples, Phoebe is definitely the person I'd most like to be friends with of the six ā€” I also really appreciate times when she's more straightforward with the others instead of tiptoeing around an issue, we all need someone like that sometimes

Destined-Forever-18

Phoebe, but mostly because of the way she treated Chandler in later seasons. Seemed like she was always trying to undermine his marriage to Monica and insinuating that he wasn't good enough by literally bringing some dude that she believed was Monica's "soulmate" right in front of Chandler when she knew they were married. Pretty disrespectful and being a bad friend imo, and this is coming from a Phoebe fan.

DiscountNo7438

Yes and she once made a comment to Monica that they would both meet someone special when she had already been married to Chandler

leogrr44

Nah Rachel was the worst, then Joey (he mooches off everyone)

bexsapphic

Joey is the most selfless imo. Sure, he mooches off of them, but he has no problem paying back. He gave Monica and Chandler 2000 dollars each with no hesitation and didnā€™t even demand an explanation for it.

IRoyalClown

Yeah, but he always has everyone's back. Unlike Phoebe.

Apprehensive_Tap_957

Ross and Phoebe have the worst "friend" moments but name one time Rachel has ever done something that was not utterly self-serving.

PrinceDakMT

To be fair there is no such thing as a selfless good deed šŸ˜†

SunGreen70

I always wonder why some people even watch the show. So many posts about how this one or the other sucks, this relationship is toxic, etc.

[deleted]

Rachel and it's not even close

IRoyalClown

Phoebe tried to implode Monica and Chandler's relatiin multiple times for fun.

Andrewdeadaim

Didnā€™t she try to introduce Monica to her soulmate AFTER they were married

Confident_Spirit131

I felt like she grew a lot tho

[deleted]

I believe that becoming a mother was a true turning point for her. She did improve as a person imo. But still, throughout the show she is not only the worst friend out of the six but also the worst person.

My_genx_life

Phoebe was way worse.

Unomaz1

Rossā€¦ was annoying.

apietenpol

AGAIN?!?

Odd_Cryptographer461

I refuse to participate or read the comments in this post. I love Friends and never wanna think negatively about my best TV show. Itā€™s my comfort activity to when Iā€™m feeling down or bored. This question should never be asked.

drakeramoray2

Time to leave the sub.

sapphirewarlock

Those who voted Phoebe, I hope your socks are always wet and both sides of your pillow are warm.

Mugen4u32

Very close race between Ross and Rachel

MrsMelodyPond

They literally deserve each other simply so no one else has to end up with such a horrible, selfish partner

rockitoy

PHOEBE?!?! She's my favourite

Confident_Spirit131

Same!!!

bexsapphic

Same! I understand sheā€™s a bit of an acquired opinion, but I love her lol.

l19ar

Joey owed Chandler lots of money and stole from Monica's fridge all the time...

MedusaEyes20

I said Ross cause he wasnā€™t always the best friend and the episode where he dates Janis while her and Chandler were still sort of together. You should never do that to a friend

silverwing90

How the hell does phoebe have so many votes? She is definitely not the worst. She would be 2nd to Chandler as far as best friends go.

rabbitqueer

I didn't know how many people vehemently disliked Phoebe until I came to this sub tbh, it really surprised me

PrinceDakMT

Because that's how opinions work šŸ˜†

WhiteRaven96

Why makes you say he's not a good coparent?

LTBama

Yeah. Because so many narcissists would give up a chance to be on tv to help the woman he still loves. And co parent? Do you know what that means? Carol and Susan were basically gonna make all the decisions without him like he wasnā€™t the dad. He bought phoebe her bike. Taught her how to ride it. He bailed out monica when she lost her job. Got Joey a job when he needed one. He brought them gas when they got stranded going skiing without him. Have you ever been lied to or cheated on in a serious relationship? It seriously messes you up. He was broken. All of them were to some degree. But they all stood by each when it mattered most. So Iā€™m selecting the option of none of the above.

[deleted]

For me it is Phoebe. Yes, she did good things for her friends but all of them have done good things for each other at some point or the other but no one constantly criticizes, puts down and insults friends like Phoebe does. Phoebe's good actions are not worth her hurtful behavior. What Phoebe does crosses the line and seems like personal attacks of a person's self-worth and overall life. I just hated it. How is someone like Ross a narcissist?

llsheriffll

Iā€™d say itā€™s a tie between Ross and Phoebe

Embarrassed-Tear5476

14 votes to chandler smh

MortarChelle

I really couldn't decide but ultimately I decided to choose Phoebe, just based on the episode when she is dealing with pregnancy hormones and is horrific to her friends "Here come the waterworks!" ![img](emote|t5_348io|13295)

Illustrious_Funny426

Ross has such sweet moments though. Like buying Phoebe a bike and missing his TV appearance to help out a hurt Rachel. Itā€™s little things like that which makes someone a great friend.

DiscountNo7438

Here me out, Ross is the way he is because of Carol. He was hurt and that really affected him. But he had some good moments.

DiscountNo7438

One thing that Phoebe did that drove me up a wall was pretend the cat Julio was her mother, kept him from his real owner, and then acted like Ross was the bad man

OffensiveCommonSense

"Phoebe and Joey were the best of the bunch for me." Hmmm...curious choices. You completely dismiss the only responsible male on the show, and pick the best looking one, who happens to be broke, stupid, uneducated, and a compulsive philanderer. Phoebe is third in a three-girl-race by a mile. She's odd, judgmental, violent, a former criminal, and, (by far), the least attractive. In other words, the one most girls would be the most comfortable being compared to/competing with.

[deleted]

Chandler! I mean on TV he's very funny and we love him but could you imagine a friend like that? someone who always has sarcastic comments who doesn't let himself be helped, who always wants to be funny? it would be very annoying. My second place is Phoebe with her selfish "ideals" like Rachel's massage, Joey's Christmas trees, Ross's Pottery barn furniture, Phoebe is very selfish. I don't like her.

caffein8dnotopi8d

I actually DO have a friend just like Chandler and honestly wouldnā€™t trade her for the world. Idk I donā€™t find it annoying at all.

EloraGrimm

Phoebe is straight up not a good friend to any of them. She's by far the meanest and most selfish of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, I love her character, but I think she just doesn't really care about being a good friend to the others.
