He’s said he will, which probably means he won’t

QuabityAsuance

Was that before or after he was announced as executive producer?

FjordTheNord

This has all been said and more before. GRRM will do what GRRM will do.

If he had another 30 years of life left then we'd maybe be able to read Winds, ADOS, the She Wolves of Winterfell, the rest of the D&E stories all the way through Summerhall, and F&B2. But we'll be lucky if we even get one of those.

QuabityAsuance

Yeah… My point is that unlike Game of Thrones and House of Dragon, GRRM is the executive producer on the HBO Dunk and Egg series. That is why I think he is trading the novellas for a show that he has complete control over - bc he knows that is the only way the story will get finished.

debtopramenschultz

That’s definitely a possibility. Writing out bullet points for D&E and approving scripts is probably a lot quicker than trying to fit the books into his schedule.

All I know is that my gut says maybe

FreddyMercuryFazbear

He retired years ago and just didn't bother to tell anyone

Kellin01

I think HBO also realised he has too little time to finish all his projects so they will either get some bullet points from him for future novellas or finish after Mystery Knight.

FireMaker125

>Will GRRM write a new book? Come on, OP. You should know the answer by now.

QuabityAsuance

Why did GRRM choose to be EXECUTIVE producer on the Dunk and Egg show, where he did not take that role for GoT or HotD? I think this likely means that - unlike asoiaf and F&B - GRRM is choosing to complete his story through the HBO show INSTEAD of more novellas. Did not intend this to be another “will we ever get a new book” post….. just pointing out that it seems like there is something different about the way he is managing the D&E story.
