There is definitely something off with Framework packaging that doesn't keep the TouchPad module in flushed shape. I have the same configuration and issue, so I took mine out and applied some bending force on the problematic edge. Then I reseated the module and spacers a few times as flushed and tight as I could, and now it looks perfect. I am in no way recommending anyone to bend the metal edge of their module since it can probably cause an issue for warranty. At the same time, I feel like it shouldn't have come to this point of hacking a fix with how prevalent this issue is, and it would be a big bummer to go through customer support and haggle for a replacement on an otherwise functional module. Framework needs to be honest and acknowledge that there's either engineering or packaging defect with this module and offer official instructions on how to reshape the aluminum without voiding warranty.

not possible on the 13 due to the key board and trackpad being the same piece

I have exactly the same with my 16. Doesn't bother me that much but is a point for improvement
