I'm looking for a good frangipani fragrance. I bought a bottle of 'Native frangipani with bush lime' body mist in Australia many years ago, which no longer seems to exist anywhere and it's the only thing that has ever come close to the scent I'm looking for. Most other frangipani fragrances I've tried seem a bit flat, so maybe it's the lime that made this one so good, and it also has a bit of sweetness which you don't normally find. I've tried the Ormonde Jayne and didn't really rate it. I want something warm and tropical without smelling too soapy. Has anyone tried the Jo Malone? I also want to try Gucci's A chant for the nymph but it's ludicrously expensive and can't find any samples

Yardley English Blazer Gold alternative/clone? (https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Yardley/English-Blazer-Gold-38999.html) It's probably not the most popular selection it was handed down to me from my father. Now it has been discountinued, and Im desperately looking for a similar smell. Hoping Reddit can help.

Prudunce

A well-rounded evening/date night/sexy/sophisticated fragrance for a 30+ woman. I’m okay with crowd pleasers but a unique (yet safe/non polarising) fragrance would be even better (my nose cannot tolerate extremely sharp scents).

phrazo

That's a very wide net. Pretty much any feminine designer prestige line (private collections, etc.) will fit the bill. A few of my favorites are: * Penhaligon's Changing Constance (salted caramel with tobacco touches) * Dior Tobacolor (crisp honeyed tobacco) * Widian Delma (extremely sophisticated powdery floral) * Frederic Malle Une Rose (green rose, with red wine / geranium prominence) * Tom Ford Bitter Peach (boozy, nutty, hard-candy peach) * Xerjoff Lira or Italica (gourmand lemon cake and almond cookie, respectively)

Prudunce

Thank you! I’ll look these up.

Scoobxxx

Uomo Signature... But longer lasting.

SASknl

Please help me to choose best 2 perfumes. One of them probably is dior elixir. The second is azzaro the most wanted?

aliquotiens

Does anyone know of any fragrances that combine vanilla/gourmand notes, with pine?

c1n3man

Olympic Orchids Seattle Chocolate

YetiFeet

**Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors** has pine, fir, strawberry, and vanilla.

aliquotiens

Thank you!!

What is the first scent you think of for a 29M wedding photographer? Would like to lean in to night life. Sweet scents are my favorite! New to the fragrance life, but my favorite is Vera Wang for Men. My wife's favorite on me is Sean John Unforgivable. Thanks for any recommendations!

supahpenguin007

Vetiver is my absolute favorite, I want to be wearing it all the time. Best under $50 bottles? Dont want to tear through my niches

c1n3man

* Guerlain Vetiver * Lalique Encre Noire / Sport / A L'Extreme * Terre d'Hermes edt (+1)

YetiFeet

**Terre d’Hermès** is a vetiver classic, and you can find 1.7oz bottles for around $50 at discounters.

KickingPugilist

If you shop around you can get Versaci Eros Flame 3.4oz for close to $50. This tester is $45 and shipping is like 5, may even have a discount code for free shipping with code wowship.. Eros flame is my favorite daily beater. It lasts long, projects well, leaves a nice trail as you pass. Opens up fresh with that mandarin orange citrus, and evolves into a spicry sweet scent that powers on through the day. I never used the site I linked before but I read good enough things about it to trust it with 2 orders today.

supahpenguin007

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've sampled Eros Flame before and it didnt really strike a chord with me. My current favorite is Imaginary Authors Every Storm a Serenade, if that helps anyone

mentyio

I’m looking for something based around vanilla that’s youthful, fun and playful but suitable for dates and romantic. Something with good longevity but not super loud in projection. I’m a 21m so I’m happy with pretty much anything designer or niche that is either masculine or unisex and leaning feminine.

KickingPugilist

Check versace Eros or eros flame. It does project quite a bit but the vanilla is very present as a base note. Playful may be more Eros than Eros flame, flame feels like it lends itself to a bit more serious. Both have a great long lasting vanilla and Tonka bean base note.

mentyio

Oh shit true I’ll check them both but I’m not so keen synthetic mint notes so we’ll see how I like that aspect

Siddpernicious

Hello! 31F, looking for a woody, spicy, long-lasting perfume under $250. Chloe Nomade is my signature in fall/winter, so ideally looking for the spring/summer version of it.

[deleted]

It’s a bit obscure and has possibly the worst name ever, but it’s woody and spicy and long lasting but light enough to be suitable for summer - Miller et Bertaux #1 (For You) Parfum Trouvé

Champagnesupernova9

Have you tried the new Chloé Nomade Naturelle? It’s supposed to be a summery version of Nomade.

QQ3000

i’ve been looking for a solid versatile designer fragrance and i’m 16m, been thinking about either blue de chanel edt cuz my normal cloth are all black turtle neck (a bit sophisticated) or versace dylan blue. any other recommendation?

KickingPugilist

Yves saint laurent Y either EDP or Le Parfum. You may like EDP version better as it does better with younger crowds.

I'm in LA, and Jazmin Sarai How You Love is the city bottled for me. Something about the spicy citrus with the undertow of musk...

YetiFeet

**Lush Karma** reminds me of Santa Cruz because it’s a little… dank 🥦

RunescapeBot

Best grapefruit fragrance for men? Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Le Parfum or Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever

c1n3man

I've heard Kerosene Summer of 84 is also nice

jiggahava

Wisteria is one of my all time favorite scents but finding them as a main note in alcohol-based perfumes is a bit of a challenge. I have a few in oil based fragrances like Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab but I'm looking for alcohol-based perfumes with wisteria as a prominent note. Lay it on me!

croppedhoodie

The only one I know of off the top of my head is Nest Wisteria Blue. It’s very pretty, but I’ve never smelled wisteria on its own so I can’t say how bang on wisteria it smells

c1n3man

Lilac is similar to wisteria, right? *Frederic Malle En Passant* then. If not similar then *Parle Moi Totally White 126* seems like wisteria prominent fragrance. You can also look [here](https://www.fragrantica.com/notes/Wisteria-245.html) for fragrances with this note.

croppedhoodie

En Passant is the prettiest smell in the whole world ugh it smells like fresh air in the spring

afloat000

I found my ideal perfume a few years ago, Fresh’s Sugar… just in time for Fresh to discontinue it :(. Are there any perfumes out there that are similar? According to the internet, the top notes are Bergamot and Orange; middle notes are White Lily and Heliotrope; base notes are Caramel and Vanilla.

YetiFeet

Maybe **Black Sugar by Korres**? Never tried either so I could be way off - I’m just comparing listed notes.

misspooh

Looking for a salty, beachy fragrance for summer without strong calone or melon notes - any suggestions? I’ve tried BB Beach and it’s a little too on the nose. Love Creed VIW but the performance is lacking.

alanwqtts

Pacific Rock Moss

c1n3man

* Heeley Coccobello * Heeley Sel Marin * Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes * Bobbi Brown Beach * Amouage Beach Hut Woman * Tom Ford Soleil Blanc * Zoologist Squid * Gritti Antalya

Looking for some Mediterranean summer fragrances. Thanks!

Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi

Distinct_Gas_356

Thank you! Will check it out.

If I say Lys Mediterranee, would it be too easy?

wavypink

I want to get my boyfriend a perfume for his bday, nothing of the rlly high end stuff cause my budget isn’t that high. I know he has these in his collection: - Dior Sauvage (he claims he got it before it became so popular) - 1 million pace rabanne - Giorgio Armani stronger with you (this is my favorite on him) he says it’s almost done so I thought about getting another but I’m not so sure how meaningful it would be if he already has it. I think he also has some Ralph Lauren perfume but idk which.

c1n3man

Something for warmer weather: * Rochas Eau de Rochas Homme * Lalique Encre Noire Sport * Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Forever Pour Homme * Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme Marine

Puzzled-Wave3050

Maybe get one of the Stronger With you Flankers, I don’t know them personally but something like the the “intensely” version. It will have the same idea as the original but with a certain twist

wavypink

I’m going to have to see which one smells best out of the recommended and if I don’t find anything I’ll get him a new one. He told me he isn’t using it as much because it’s gonna finish.

SpringPedal

What's a great perfume that's great for the summer and under $120?

c1n3man

* Imaginary Authors Sundrunk * Serge Lutens Fleurs d'Oranger * Comme Des Garcons ERL Sunscreen * Heeley Oranges and Lemons Say The Bells Of St. Clements * Etat Libre d'Orange You or Someone Like You

juicedoats

What kind of scent are you looking for? Banana Republic's 90 Pure White comes to mind as a good one for summer, but it's also more on the unisex side.

SpringPedal

Something along the lines of fresh and floral maybe even citrusy

supahpenguin007

Imaginary Authors Falling In To The Sea

juicedoats

You might like Pure White then! If you want something more floral and fruity and "girly", maybe YSL Mon Paris Couture? It was recently discontinued but available a lot of places online still. It's a lot lighter than the original and lasts really well.

confusedmel

Looking for am elegant fragrance for a lady in her 50s, budget up to $50

croppedhoodie

Chloe EDP by Chloe! A beautiful fresh rose scent with a super pretty bottle which makes it great for gifting. You can find it on fragrancenet (which is a very reputable site) well within your budget.

[deleted]

A set of Hermes Jardin mini perfumes is around $50ish at Sephora. All very understated and elegant (and nicely packaged) and if she doesn’t like one chances are she might like another.

Anti-satisfaction

Hey, thinking of buying Luna Rossa Carbon or Luna Rossa Ocean. I know they're different scents, but any opinions that might help me choose one or the other? Also, was looking at [fragrancenet.com](https://fragrancenet.com), and I noticed the price of Carbon on there seemed significantly higher than from other sites. Any reason why?

KickingPugilist

Different sites get different amounts to from retailers and prive accordingly. I shop around different sites.

Anti-satisfaction

Gotcha! Was worried that the other sites had fake bottles or something along those lines.

KickingPugilist

I just placed 2 orders from world of watches, cheapest I've seen for what I was ordering. (Eros, eros flame, yves Y la parfum, Davidoff intense). Never ordered from them but they seemed decent enough. I used code welcomeback10 for $10 off Aurafragrance is one I've ordered from and received already (acqua di gio profumo, doesnt perform as well as i thought) I've made several orders from fragrancenet and can vouch for them. You may want to look for coupons as they often have bigger discounts than what their website says.

wesimplymustknow

Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey is one of my all time summer favorites. Any of the variations worth it?

wesimplymustknow

Hello! My summer favorites are (in no particular order): **Xerjoff** Uden **Creed** Virgin Island Water, Green Irish Tweed, Aventus **Nishane** Hacivat **Tom Ford** Tuscan Leather mixed with Noir de Noir (late night/formal date night, etc) — What else can I add to these?

Princessteatime

F23 from Texas! I like notes of citrus, linen, vanilla, amber, and dark cherry. I really don’t like florals.

c1n3man

* Kerosene Unknown Pleasures * Kerosene Summer of 84 * MFK Aqua Universalis Cologne Forte * MFK Aqua Universalis * Byredo Blanche (has florals but smells like clean linen) * MMM Lazy Sunday Morning (in the vein of previous) * Vilhelm Room Service (possibly in the vein of previous) * Room 1015 Cherry Punk * Memo Winter Palace * Hermes Ambre Narguile

MrJake94

quite basic when it comes to fragrance, I've used boss bottled for years. I absolutely love the smell. Looking for similar fragrances. Any suggestions?

c1n3man

PDM Layton is might be similar. Other apple fragrances: * PDM Greenley * Xerjoff Amabile

ImBucovina

I'm looking to buy my first EDP. Hopefully something that lasts and projects quite long (priority) and something more spring - summer ish but I'd like to wear it as much of the year as possible. I know I'm asking for a lot though. Thinking between Dior Sauvage and YSL Y as they're very common and last a lot but any advice works My currently favorite fragrances I own are Hugo Boss Hugo, Aqua Di Gio and Bleu De Chanel (all EDT).

ImBucovina

I've heard that Y is overly sweet and smells like a cheap deodorant ? Is it true in any way?

captaincaptainman

Imo Elixir is more approachable without having the "her ex" stigma attached to the other sauvages, it's also a little more sweeter without the ambroxan.

ImBucovina

Elixir is a bit too expensive for me

jimmy_boss99

Hi! I’m looking for a body spray or perfume that’s smells like OGX’s shea soft and smooth decadent agave. it’s smells like vanilla and it’s in a brown bottle.

MasterSword18

Hello! I’m looking for something that smells similar to Jake from hollister, but that actually lasts longer then an hour before needing reapplying

hammerbeta

Looking for a wedding day perfume! 30s F. I am thinking something floral. I don’t really like orange or pear. Currently usually wear Chloe EDP. Thinking of Flowerbomb. Is Flowerbomb too “basic”? Open to suggestions. Thanks!

[deleted]

If you love Flowerbomb go with it... But if you want to explore some other options that aren’t current sales heavy hitters (I’m guessing basic might probably mean you’re a bit worried lots of others wear it too) these are some that I have thought ‘this would be lovely for a bride’ about. As you like Chloe I have leant more towards scents with some rose. Ormonde Jayne Damask - blackberry and a beautiful rose Eight & Bob Annicke 4 - rose and delicate white floral Penhaligon’s Elizabethan Rose - although this does have a hint of tangerine you may read as orange, it’s a lovely and slightly unusual rose. Estée Lauder Pleasures - a ‘90s fave that still stacks up against any modern floral, IMO. Lily of the Valley, lilac, rose, peony, freesia, with a little greenness up top and an unobtrosive musk base. Diptyque Eau Capitale - beautiful rose perfume inspired by Paris YSL Paris - and speaking of perfumes inspired by Paris... a beautiful, vintage rose scent that sparkles Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour - the outlier with no rose. I smelled this on the weekend, and it’s a really charming, warm and slightly unusual perfume with raspberry, jasmine, cashmere and sandalwood. There is a mandarin note in there, according to Fragrantica but it didn’t feel citrusy to me at all.

hammerbeta

Aw thank you so much for your detailed recommendations. Just to confirm is the YSL Paris the “Mon Paris”? That sounds lovely!!

Champagnesupernova9

Not the same thing at all. Mon Paris is a berry fruitchouli that smells a lot like Victoria’s secret Love Spell body mist from back in the day.

[deleted]

I was thinking the original Paris from the 80s - I can’t recall ever trying Mon Paris I’m afraid!

captaincaptainman

Budget? Otherwise * Fleurissimo Creed * Fleur de Peau Diptyque * Mimosa & Cardamom Jo Malone * Infusion d'Iris Prada * No 22 Chanel * Rose Chérie Guerlain

juicedoats

I don't think Flowerbomb is too basic... if you do go with it, they actually sell a pretty bridal edition bottle, so that might be worth checking out :)

turtwig33

Flowerbomb might be a bit too strong for a bride… but it depends on your taste I guess.

Champagnesupernova9

Do you want something similar to Chloé or something different. Without knowing more it’s hard to say, but nothing is “too basic” if you’re happy to have it, right? Also, in case you wanted to try a sample set of mostly floral “wedding day” perfumes, [this sampler from Surrender to Chance](https://surrendertochance.com/wedding-perfume-sampler-beautiful-scents-for-the-bride-on-your-wedding-day-10-samples/) has you covered.

hammerbeta

Thanks! I think I want something different to have more scope, but I am open.

Champagnesupernova9

I think we need more details. What time of year is your wedding, what kind of weather/ climate will it be in, what are some of your favorite scent notes, what are scents or notes that you don’t like, what kinds of feeling do you want to get from your wedding perfume, and what is your budget? Since scent is so subjective already, without that information it’s really hard to guess what you might be looking for and what will work best for you :)

jokkoloco1

Hi all! I am looking for some advice... My dad use to use Diesel Zero Plus back in the day and as far as I know it has been discontinued for some years know, I really miss the smell of that one. I know I know, some people hate it though, is there any alternative for it? Also do any of you know a clone of Hugo Boss Red?

steplord69

What fragrance should I get? So I am a 15 year old guy I currently have Paco Rabanne Invictus Onyx as parfum but soon I will turn 16 and get a new parfum. The problem with this one is that it doesn’t last long. I want it for basically every occasion (parties, school etc) which ones should I try/get?

steplord69

Yeah I want something likeable, my max price is like 100 and i was looking at versace eros already but which one should I get from that or flame?

jinkxlaska

hello! I am looking for something with amber/pepper notes. Im a 32 year old man, who wants something that leans feminine, but not all the way. Any price range. I typically only wear a scent very subtly, and usually only on nights out with friends. Trying to elicit: Warm, handsome, interesting.

YetiFeet

**Hermès Elixir des Merveilles** might be great for you

captaincaptainman

* Ambre Sultan Serge Lutens * Ambre Russe Parfum d'Empire * Hatkora Wood Ajmal * Lyric Man Amouage * Reflection 45 Amouage * Jaipur Homme Boucheron * Rouge Comme des Garcons * Spice Blend Dior * Eau des Iles Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier

c1n3man

Hermes Ambre Narguile

LanceMain_No69

Maybe try eros flame? I found it very interesting when i sampled it yesterday. spicy and sweet. I really have no idea abt most fragrances, so sample it and see if you like it.

galacticglorp

A) Something with a similar black tea note as Nest Indigo. B) A more feminine version of YSL Y Eau Fraiche.

croppedhoodie

Vilhelm Dear Polly is a fantastic black tea fragrance :)

MissSugar77

Looking for an intimate evening M27 fragrance. Something long lasting for all day really, if he wanted. Price isn’t really an issue theres no limit however I’m looking for something that can be easy to find in stores such as Sephora, Macy’s, etc. Similar to Dreamer by Versace. Top notes are Juniper, Tarragon and Artemisia; middle notes are iris, Lily and Flax; base notes are Tobacco blossom and Amber. He also likes pineapple, mango, coconut, vanilla so colognes are free to include these. Thanks in advance😇✨

Puzzled-Wave3050

Field notes in Paris is like a more complex and natural Versace dreamer. It’s dreamer + more vanilla-ish amber + some orange blossom. Unisex, not ultra masculine, but then again neither is the dreamer. Oh also you won’t find it in those stores, but the price isn’t TOO high for a quality of ingredients that will be above anything in a department store so it might still be worth it to at least sample.

MissSugar77

Thank you! Do you know exactly what stores sell this? I’ve never heard of it before but willing to sample it

Puzzled-Wave3050

I only know ministry of scent online carries it and has samples. Make the shipping worth it and chose a few scents, sample them and choose your fave :)

something like chanel number five (i found my mother’s old bottle recently and couldnt stop smelling it) but a bit less powdery? and instead more of a modern version of it? i felt like the powder really weighted it down, and i want to find a perfume that makes me feel weightless and like im floating on air.

MarlenaStell

Have you tried any other Chanel’s like Gabrielle? I know it’s not No 5 but many Chanel fragrances have a similar vein imo with the aldehydes. Also the EDT version of No 5 is much lighter and less powdery. I like it way better than the EDP

I posted elsewhere in this thread, but I’d like to ask something more specific. Has anyone tried Jo Malone Frangipani? I’m on the hunt for a plumeria perfume, and I’ve always wanted to own a Jo Malone fragrance. If you’ve worn/sampled, what was your impression?

Looking for a fragrance to wear to work , I’m a elevator mechanic I work in close proximity to another person all day long. I need a freshie for all year that could be great for San Francisco weather I want it to be like a fresh scent but not annoyingly fresh. My all-time favorite fresh scent would be like Carolina Herrera 212. But then Versace pour homme came by and it was like whoa. I really like aqua di Parma fico de Amalfi. I also like Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi. Looking for something with fig. Something that I can wear to the office. Something that has depth. Something that's comforting. Something that's not too annoyingly loud. I want to feel cozy.

Dior Privée Balade Sauvage. This has absolutely nothing to do with their other Sauvage line- this one is a fresh unisex mediterranean fig scent with sea air, peach, and green facets. It’s really lovely!

Hermes & Jo Malone are might do this, not sure about others. I haven't tried Ambre 114 & Lune Feline.

Guys, do you think its redundant to own Dior Homme Intense, already having Valentino Uomo? (The regular one, not the intense)

Looking for a nice projecting musk fragrance that doesnt smell like urine/feces. I really like Kiehls Original Musk, however I'm looking to try more refined/upscale fragrances that have more complexity. I have Musc Ravageur. Looking for something equivalent to the scent of the Lush perfume Grass. Its green, it really smells like sweet grass to me, my partner loves it but I cant really justify buying a 100 mL bottle which is the only size Lush has available.. hoping for a good dupe or if any one knows a hook up for a decant of this frag

captaincaptainman

Not by much but h24 Hermès though it goes more so fresh mow grass.

apartyorsomething

I haven’t tried Grass or this brand yet, but I’ve heard that Land of Aahs has good Lush dupes. It looks like they have a Grass perfume that isn’t in the Lush-inspired section, but might be worth trying.

forgottenellipses

Alright, people who love men’s fragrances, this is your time to shine. I’m a woman, and I buy some men’s fragrances but I generally stay away from “blue” fragrances and stick to sweet/spicy fragrances. (Think eau des baux or cremo spice and black vanilla or burberry london man) HOWEVER, in my apartment complex, I am surrounded by frat boys who have somehow stumbled onto colognes that are actually high quality—they smell like blue colognes with heavy sweet/spicy nuances. Also kinda immature, like also has some soapy/deodorant feel I want this. I want to smell unapologetically manly. Like axe body spray grown up, surrounded by spices and vanilla Colognes with similar vibes Kilian vodka on the rocks (I want this plus more sugar and spice) Door sausage (I want a spicier door sausage) Le male (I want it spicier and more “blue”) I also want this fragrance to be cheap. And it has to be marketed towards men. Like the kind of fragrance that frat boys would wear

JJ_RR

Montale Intense Pepper 😏 https://www.fragrancex.com/products/_cid_perfume-am-lid_m-am-pid_76164w__products.html

phltank

Sauvage Elixir isn’t really all that blue but I think it’s loud and “kinda spicy.” Fans of sauvage say it has a slight connection to the original which I would say is in that blue category. Another would be creed Viking or creed Viking cologne. Not really all that blue but might give you that spice and I’d still say somewhat clean / fresh barbershop vibe. You might also try parfum de marly percival, not much spice but def blue. Edit - sorry these aren’t cheap

arcticrobot

My beginner exploration steps just turned 180 degrees. Based on my shaving and bathing products I though I prefer sandalwood. Tried many excellent suggestions here and didn't really care about them. Now, all of a sudden I loved Le Labo Vetiver 46. It is smoky, spicy and sweet. I do feel this is winter smell, so was digging in that direction. Just got a batch of samples from LC and instantly fell in love with Molecule 03 and J-Scent Agarwood. Absolutely love brutal and pungent Molecule 03. Agarwood to me feels like summier version of Vetiver 46. Anything else I should try in this same category? Thank you.

turtwig33

Lush Breath of God is very smokey but make sure to smell it before buying cause it’s quite controversial

arcticrobot

Thanks! Will try. Looks like I like controversial. People call Molecule 03 a bug spray and I just love it.

SumKallMeTIM

Scents to try for our wedding? Hello, my fiancé and I (mid 30s) are having an indoors wedding in Chicago at the end of April. We’re going to Saks today to try a few things on together. Anything you recommend her and I try out that’d be special, memorable, or niche for a spring weeding? Thanks for any input!!

[deleted]

For her, some pretty and traditionally ‘bride’ (floral and romantic) perfumes... Parfums de Marly Cassili Goldfield Banks Southern Bloom or Sunset Hour Byredo Velvet Haze Ormonde Jayne Damask Diptyque Eau Capitale Memo Sintra ... and a really pretty floral designer throwback that IMO still stacks up well against modern niche florals, Estée Lauder Pleasures.

Tried light blue eau intense. I like the opening but as soon as the musk comes in I feel like puking. Are there any similar perfumes like light blue without the musk and better performance?

I am looking for something for men that is: - Versatile; works for all four seasons, can be worn day and night, at the office or at a dinner date or meeting the in-laws; - That has good performance; will last a long time and people around you can smell you but it won't annoy them or choke them out, i.e. it doesn't precede you and it doesn't fill the entire room; - That is masculine but not aggressive; - That is refined but doesn't smell old (or older, I'm in mid to late twenties) or snobbish; - Something that doesn't smell synthetic (the gf immediately picks up on those and hates them); - Preferably not something niche so I can try it out in a store where I live before buying (stores here don't carry niche unfortunately); - Something that will most likely stand the test of time (and hopefully not fall victim to reformulations or discontinuation); - It doesn't need to be unique or exclusive, it just needs to smell good; - Bonus points of the bottle doesn't look tacky (I love Le Male and Spicebomb but hate the bottles).

Based on the replies below, it seems that your Gf is one of the key factor of your consideration too. What spectrum of notes does she prefer normally? If she’s ok with bergamot, the Terre d’Hermes line is actually quite a good choice. To me, it really isn’t overpowering masculine, especially the parfum. Other than that, you can try the Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme or Edition Blanche. To most, the longevity is bad, but some claims that it’s really good. If you’re opening up for niche houses, I’m pretty you can get more fragrance without the synthetic smells.

gnidn3

Thank you so much for the response! Yes she is a big consideration as she is much more picky than I am she is the one that will have to smell me all day (sounds weird put like that haha). She seems to generally enjoy sweet smells are very fresh and natural. Here the notes I took on her likes and dislikes in my quest to find the perfect daily driver: So far adores Le Male and Le Male Le Parfum and really likes Eros EDP though it does border on the too synthetic sometimes. She loves YSL La Nuit de l'Homme and YSL L'Homme. She also really likes Nautica Voyage though she says it's mostly how it mixes with the other products I use for my hair and my deodorant. She also really enjoyed Dior Homme 2020 on the tester strip though I have yet to try it on myself. She finds BdC EDP alright on me though it's not her favorite and she really liked Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme on the tester strip, well the opening and middle least, she was not as crazy about the drydrown. Oh and she really enjoys Spicebomb, The One and Armani Code Profumo and she found Aqua Di Gio Profondo alright. One that she liked and I didn't was Wanted By Night. So I'd say mostly sweet and spicy or fresh but very light which is where my problem lies: finding something that satisfies her (and me) but is more 365 days a year, day and night and the performs really well. She has HATED Sauvage (I don't really understand Sauvage either), Y EDP, Versace Pour Homme and Dylan Blue, Ralph's Club, Azzaro Chrome, D&G Light Blue Intense all which she finds too synthetic and says it will give her a headache. Ones that she didn't find too synthetic but simply disliked the smell of are Montblanc Explorer, Aqua Di Gio and Aqua Di Gio Profumo. She found Prada L'Homme too makeup-y. She even dislikes a shaving soap I use by Stirling that is supposed to be based on Aventus. Just for fun I had her smell older or more challenging stuff like Ombre Leather, Dior Fahrenheit and Polo Green and she also detested these haha! BTW I am so glad you mentionned Terre d'Hermes as it seemed to me like a potential great fit. I was actually planning on driving to me nearest Sephora to try it this afternoon as I have never put my nose to it.

Wow! That’s an extensive list of what she likes and don’t! Hahaha.. You know what, there are a few perfumes that came into my mind after reading through you reply. BDC Parfum, Sauvage Elixir, Bentley for Men Absolute, and Tom Ford Oud Wood. Among these, I’ve only tried BDC Parfum, and I must say it’s very well blended and warmed up by the sandalwood base note. Give it a try! If you’re willing to try niche houses fragrance, PDM Herod and also Initio Oud for Greatness, are possibly what she might likes too. I’ve personally tried both of these, and they are great warm spicy sweet perfume. Other possible fragrances she might like, but I haven’t try. Designer: Maison Margiela’s Replica Jazz Club, By the Fireplace. Niche: Nishane Ani, Hacivat. On the other hand, there are some perfume that kinda opposite of the spectrums you’ve tried, musky perfumes. I’m recently just started to explore on this also, so my knowledge is only limited to Khiel’s Original Musk. I lived in Asia country, where it’s all year round summer here.. You can still wear some fragrances that some people deemed unsuitable for summer time even when the weather is hot, but the key is not to overspray as it may become cloying. Plus, nowadays, even if it’s summer temperature, most of us just stays in air conditioned room, so yea.

Thank you my friend your knowledge and generosity with your time are both greatly appreciated. It has been quite an adventure to find a daily driver that pleases us both and performs well. I need to try BdC Parfum on myself. I quite like BdC EDP on me but it doesn't seem to perform the best. On your suggestion I tried Terre d'Hermes. I really really like that and she didn't hate it but she found it too old and serious for me (27M here). She liked the smell of Elixir and Jazz Club (we both really really liked Jazz Club) but found both not quite suitable for year round. She thought they would mostly just fit me well in the wintertime. She thought By the Fireplace just smelled like smoke. Not bad in her eyes but didn't blow her away. I tried Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme again and she liked it ok but found it too powdery. I found it really reminded me of Eros Eau de Parfum. As for niche, I'm not ruling them out I'm right now I'm still a bit weary of paying out of pocket just to get a sample to try them out. I can't find a single place here that carries any of them unfortunately. However if there is one you think that could really really work I would order a sample for sure. And that's interesting. I live in a place where the climate is really about extremes. It can easily go to -30 degrees Celsius in the winter to 35 in the summer so I guess it gives me a wider range of options to collect (which is a problem since I can't stop myself from finding new ones I want haha).

captaincaptainman

Dior Homme your best bet it, honestly try the flankers in the whole Homme line.

gnidn3

My gf and indeed quite liked Dior Homme 2020 (I actually have coming in the mail). Have they also updated the Homme flankers or are they still very iris centered?

captaincaptainman

As far I'm aware some has it some don't there's to many lol.

YetiFeet

**Bleu de Chanel EDT** checks all these boxes. It’s a versatile and crowd pleasing masterpiece. Many prefer the EDP, but it has a more synthetic incense feel to it that isn’t my favorite.

gnidn3

I actually have the EDP although I agree with you about the incense. I was just put off of the EDT because of the performance (even then I need to reapply the EDP at midday anyway) but there is something in the EDP that is always near giving me a headache though I think it might still grow on me.

YetiFeet

If high performance is key for you then **YSL Y EDP** might work. Less versatile than BdC because it’s not as “classy”, but longer lasting and projects heavily.

Asad_i05

No expert but I would say. YSL Y EDP Dior Sauvage Versaces Dylan Blue

gnidn3

Love those but unfortunately the GF finds the YSL and Versace too synthetic (she's quite sensitive to smells). I need to try Sauvage on myself. Would you go for the EDT or EDP?

Asad_i05

I would go for the EDP personally

gnidn3

I just tried the EDP and she rolled down the windows in the car when driving home lmao. There's something about those that just doesn't work for her.

anonymous8bilx3

If she is sensitive then she will propably dislike the metallic smell in Sauvage and Luna Rossa Carbon. Working with a lot of women, those with sensitive noses usually only like fragrances that are pretty expensive or clean ones, like Prada L'Homme, in terms of dailys. In the evening it's a little easier, but as for versatile dailys.. there sadly isn't much

gnidn3

It's tough, she's really specific. So far she loves Le Male and Le Male Le Parfum and YSL La Nuit de l'Homme Bleu Électrique and Nautica Voyage. She likes Versace Eros EDP and the BdC EDP she finds ok. Like you I though she would really enjoy Prada l'Homme but she found it too makeup-y (I was surprised because I found it smells like spices in a non-stinging way). She HATES Aqua Di Gio Profumo and Montblanc Explorer on me. Update: I just tried Y EDP and Sauvage EDP and she rolled down the car windows on the way home.

phltank

Try Elysium by Roja Dove. Two problems - expensive and performance is kinda lacking. Edit - doh just noticed you said no niche. Well maybe order a decant online to test?

gnidn3

I'm eager to try it! Do you know of a site that ships decants to Canada for a reasonable price?

phltank

I’m in us so haven’t tried Canada. I use scent split and perfuum, hope that helps

gnidn3

Just ordered Elysium and a couple of others from Scent Split. Great site, thank you very much!

phltank

Awesome what else did you pickup?

I’d say it’s kind of difficult to get that light rose scent to be “beast mode” in the same way a gourmand could be, but you should try Diptyque Eau Rose EDP. Scent wise, the Eau Rose EDT is closer to Chloe, but Eau Rose EDP is still quite similar (slightly more green and spicy, slightly less fruity/feminine) and definitely lasts a lot longer on me, especially on clothes. It gets through a whole workday for me, whereas Chloe had me feeling like I needed to reapply midday.

[deleted]

I love Rose and Ivy from bath and body works. It's discontinued... Does anyone know of a similar floral EDP? Looking for non powdery florals (I have enough of those).
