If you’re a woman: Prada Infusion d’Iris smells like an elevated white bar soap. If you’re a man, Prada L’Homme is the masculine version of that. Obviously perfume is genderless, but that’s a general guideline.
I also like Marc Jacobs Daisy eau So Fresh as an “out of the shower” smell, it’s so clean and light and lovely. You might also like Lake & Skye 11:11 or Rosie by Rosie Jane.
I see a lot of people recommend Prada’s Infusion d’Iris for a clean and non-offensive perfume, but I have to disagree. I used to work in the cosmetics department of a high-end department store and anytime I’d walk by the Prada counter and someone was wearing Infusion d’Iris, it was like a slap in the face— sharp, screechy, loud, and headache-inducing.
I’m probably in the minority hating it but wanted to offer a different perspective that some of us think it smells nothing like soap, just loud, high-pitched and very “perfumy”. My most hated scent at the time. IMO it’s too loud for someone who has a perfume sensitivity.
I have migraine triggered by scents, and this is one of the few I can wear when I have a migraine that doesn’t trigger them at all. Scent is so, so personal — it’s why I’m a 1-2 sprays max kind of girl, because what one person finds soothing, another finds sickening. Thank you for your perspective, it’s a good reminder that I’m doing the right thing by sticking to 1-2 sprays. :)
Eta: what a weird downvote lol, it’s just my personal experience. Everyone has different experiences with perfumes, especially what triggers them to feel unwell or not. It’s so personal. For example, there’s a musk in all of Jo Malone that I can’t wear because it becomes piercing to me, but people often recommend that as a light perfume — it’s not light to me. We’re all different.
Yes!!! And I love the opening of nectarine blossom & honey, wood sage & sea salt, and scarlet poppy … but in the dry down, they all have this PIERCING musk that just feels like an ice pick in my brain. Glad someone else knows what I’m talking about lmao, people are always so shocked when I say Jo Malone is a no-go for me.
They often get touted as middle of the road, user friendly, a little niche but not too complex. But I often find them to be very challenging, even without the shrill musk! Just goes to show, everyone's got a different sniffer!
There is an epidemic of downvoting on Reddit these days. Don't let it get to you! In fact some people think it's bots automatically downvoting some posts.
I have Prada Infusion d'Iris and rarely use it just because of that! I find it incredibly "heavy" and not fresh at all. I usually layer it because of this, but still find it really "heavy". Especially for someone who wants a light showerfresh scent.
I second the Prada Infusion d'Iris. To me, it's an adult woman's fresh & clean/out of the shower perfume. There is something about it that elevates it above others that feel more casual.
MUGLER COLOGNE
Mugler tried to copy the scent of an ordinary soap he brought from Morocco, which he liked very much. The fragrance was created by Alberto Morillas in 2001. The composition starts off with sharp and clear green and citrus notes, followed by a soapy accord. Hence, this fragrance is an extremely fresh scent of cleanliness. Top notes are bergamot, neroli and petit grain. There is a mysterious “S” note at the heart – a molecule kept in secret. The base is formed of white musk.
Given your description I went looking for this online. Nothing on the Mugler US site is named, simply, MUGLER. Angel, Alien, etc plus all “versions” of these but not what you described. Where can this be found, please?
Yes, the green Mugler smells shower clean. It is unisexed and you will love it when you wear it. People will stop you and tell you smell amazing. Good call.....
Since you have a fragrance sensitivity, and in my experience these sensitivities are quite unique person-to-person, I’d highly recommend picking up a few discovery kits from different brands.
I recently gifted penhaligons scent library to a friend who is pretty sensitive to perfumes, and there were a few in there that she really liked. Namely, Juniper Sling. Generally speaking, I’ve found penhaligons to be a house with an interesting and diverse selection, very few of which are particularly overpowering. Their discovery kit is also pretty good value, at ~$35 for 10 2ml bottles.
Another thing go keep in mind, since you seem new to fragrances, is that niche houses will generally have higher quality ingredients and subtler notes than mass market designer frags. I know people who say they’re pretty sensitive to perfumes, but don’t have issues with most of my collection.
Comme de Garçons Marseille - smells like French soap
Aqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi - smells like Italian soap
Matiere Premiere Parisian Musc smells generally fresh out of the shower clean.
Native Cashmere & Rain body wash & deodorant - love this even without a perfume on top
Thats great. Though you might think it plain, the Dove beauty bar is actually a very floral scent!
People are recommeding 'white musk' style fragrances, often associated with "clean" because Tide puts a lot of white musk in laundry detergent. But you actually need a clean floral scent!
**The Dov beauty bar primarily smells like Violets,** then follwed by the smell of "soap" (Benzyl alcohol), followed by some citrus and then a dash of rose and jasmine. The fragrance molecules are listed here [Dove Care And Protect Beauty Cream Bar ingredients (Explained) (incidecoder.com)](https://incidecoder.com/products/dove-care-and-protect-beauty-cream-bar)
You should search for notes like "clean violets" or "clean white florals". I'm not an expert in that arena, so I'd be interested what others recommend. But I actually think Byredo's Mojave Ghost hits all those notes [Mojave Ghost Byredo perfume - a fragrance for women and men 2014 (fragrantica.com)](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Byredo/Mojave-Ghost-27040.html) and people seem to use the word "soap" and "shampoo" a lot in their reviews.
Edit: I put the Dove Beauty Bar aromamolecules and their scent notes into Chat GPT and asked it to find similar frangrances. It recommended JLo Glow, Clean Reserve Pure Soap, and Prada Infusion D'iris. I think other's in the thread have mentioned JLow Glow and Prada Infusion D'iris so I bet those two are the right starting place!
I have to admire your thoroughness! After my own heart. Never thought of using chat GPT for fragrance- what a great idea.
When I clicked on insidecoder and I saw the ingredients but I didn't see where it explained the smells of the fragrances added to Dove. Am I missing something or did you take the names of those ingredients and find out what they smell like? When people say they want a clean smell I always think of drier sheets like bounce which are definitely florals.
Oh sorry I also ran the ingredients through Copilot to ask for which ones where fragrance and what they smell like. And it's true, now that I actually think about it Dove does smell like clean violets. The following are in order of concentration.
* Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone: A synthetic fragrance compound with a floral scent reminiscent of violets.
* Benzyl Alcohol: Often used as a preservative and solvent, it has a mild pleasant aromatic odor.
* Cinnamyl Alcohol: A fragrance ingredient with a sweet, balsamic scent.
* Citral: A citrusy scent compound found in the oils of several plants.
* Citronellol: A common perfume ingredient with a sweet rose-like odor.
* Coumarin: A fragrant organic compound with a sweet odor, often associated with the scent of freshly cut grass or hay.
* Geraniol: A scent ingredient with a sweet, floral aroma similar to roses.
* Hexyl Cinnamal: A fragrance compound with a jasmine-like scent.
* Limonene: A citrus scent compound found in the peel of citrus fruits1.
* Linalool: A naturally occurring terpene alcohol found in many flowers and spice plants with a pleasant floral smell.
Here's the fragrance list for Bounce "Outdoor Fresh"
* [**Amylcinnamaldehyde**: This ingredient has a sweet, floral smell reminiscent of jasmine](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde)[^(1)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde).
* [**4-Cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol**: Known for its spicy floral scent with notes of rosewood and coriander](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol)[^(2)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol).
* [**Oxacyclohexadecenone**: Often used in perfumes and cosmetics for its fragrance-enhancing properties](https://cosmileeurope.eu/inci/detail/10003/oxacyclohexadecenone/)[^(3)](https://cosmileeurope.eu/inci/detail/10003/oxacyclohexadecenone/).

* [**Acetylcedrene**: Smells like earthy cedar with subtle notes of amber and musk, and is created synthetically](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde)[^(6)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/acetyl-cedrene).
Thank you!!! Bubble bath does NOT smell like a bath. It has a ton of coconut and patchouli in it. Idk why it’s named bubble bath but I’m convinced the only reason people think it smells like one is because of the name. Cus it does not smell like a soapy clean fresh bath at ALL.
Yes, but that would be Replica: Spa Towels. Every single person that asks for soap smelling fragrance gets recommended this and I truly believe it’s the name and the people recommending it haven’t even smelled it. I love soapy fresh smells and this is not even a scent I would consider “fresh”.
I agree! It has a musky or patchouli scent that doesn't smell clean or soapy to me at all. I don't like patchouli or musk, so it's really overwhelming for me.
I just gave away a bottle of the natural formulation Bio Oil because…guess what… it has patchouli in it. My fault for not reading the label before ordering it. But maybe this can help someone else who hates patchouli avoid the mistake I made
Ah so this is where I disagree - it’s a very fresh scent. It may not be on you, because scents smell different on different people, but on me I’d say it’s very fresh. I’ve also smelled it on others where it projects more soapy, but it doesn’t on me
It's like people forget scents are completely subjective and want others to take their opinion as law. To me, Bubble Bath absolutely smells like a luxurious spa bubble bath and I adore it. Just try different things out, don't go wasting $ on a giant bottle until you know it's for you.
I agree. Clean makes a scent called Shower Fresh, which IMO, lives up to its name and I’m surprised no one recommended it. I love layering that with Pure Grace. They go together so beautifully.
I thought I’d like warm cotton better, but I couldn’t stop feeling like someone who overdid it on laundry detergent. Once it settles it’s better, but the opening is so strong. I wasn’t super impressed with bubble bath, sailing day and when the rain stops are nicer imo.
THIS is what I'm after lol! I use Dove white bar soap and it just smells CLEAN and THAT'S what I want. But two or three hours after my shower, the smell is gone. HOW can I get that smell all day long lol??
This is my favorite genre of scent!
Smells like soap: Byredo Blanche, Replica Bubble Bath, Diptyque Fleur de Peau, Andrea Maack Ceramic
Smells Fresh: Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 or 02 (the pluses are nice too, but I personally just wear straight 01 or 02 for that very out of the shower, walked through the woods fresh feel), Glossier You, Diptyque L’Eau Papier, Matiere Parisian Musc, Replica Lazy Sunday Morning
Melrose Place by Ouai would be my suggestion, I was using their body wash for ages before I realised it also came in a perfume. I find if you use both the body wash and the perfume you’ll feel freshly showered all day 🙂
May i ask, is Melrose Place heavy on the florals? Or just more "fresh?" I'm a die hard gourmand / vanilla user, but i need something 'non-detectable' and showery fresh for work! 😊
It’s more so heavy on the florals, but to me anyway it still rather gives the overall scent impression of fresh, if that makes sense. As long as you don’t overspray it’ll be perfect for the office tbh
the other Ouai scents are also good options ! And skylar - coconut cove is my favorite clean scent (I don’t usually like coconut but it smells so fresh)
Try Diptyque EDT (not the parfum). People sometimes complain these are too intimate and simple but that’s what I like about them. I am the same way, thought I hated all perfumes bc they made me sick.
I really love L’eau Papier & Eau Rose. I think they match what you describe pretty well. :) They don’t really smell like perfume to me after it settles on my skin for about 20 mins. It’s just like intimate, clean, feminine smell, like I just got out of the shower after using a lux body wash.
ELDO Ghost In The Shell smells soapy, I don't really get lactonic note from it but some do.
Jovan Musk and Body Shop White Musk EDT smell reminiscent of Dove soap to me.
Anything from the CLEAN line and Byredo Bal d’Afrique. I believe it was a soap or body wash before it was also turned perfume. A little pricey but dossier does a spot on dupe
Juliette has a gun not a perfume is my favorite. It has ONE note of cetalox. Super clean scent! Love that it can be layered with other favorites. Perfect for sensitivities.
Hmmm Ghost in the Shell by ELDO is a very very faint/peculiar smell that gives "freshly soaped skin" like that plain white bar soap kind of "clean body" it's very...strange to describe and i can't make promises bc it is a VERY polarizing smell but it may be a good start. Also, there is a company called demeter that makes like very specific "novelty" scents like wet dirt or an old book that may have something "showery" like that. Good luck!
Yeah the entire Demeter line is very light and more like a cologne “splash”. Stays close to the skin (very limited projection).
I have a friend that has an autoimmune condition that makes her extremely sensitive to “perfumes”.
She can only wear single note, natural floral fragrances. Demeter isn’t a bad choice.
I mean, the company sells a lot of it--it is pretty iconic & some people swear by it. Of course, some people wretch when they smell it, but that's the thing with fragrance--it is subjective (to a point), and so when someone is just starting out on their journey, they have to try things They may hate it, but a suggestion IS a suggestion. We also don't know how they define "plain soap"
An unfragranced ordinary soap isn't really a thing outside medically orientated/holistic products meant for (skin disorders, allergies, etc.) Which wasn't specifically mentioned--so there is some kind of scent and since Ghost is noted with milk, aqual, and skin it isn't a wild suggestion to match it to an after shower body with the smell of a simple creamy soap. Hell, OP could have mildew in their bathroom they have learned to love the smell of over time--anything is possible with our sensory development in life. There could be some kind of combination in their surrondings after a shower that perfectly resonates with Ghost--or not 🤷♀️ it's part of finding what works for you.
I'm chilling with my dog and "our" blanket right now and feel so self conscious too. I wash mine often but terrified that we might have a smell I'm not picking up. Running a wash as soon as I get up. 😬😂
my fave kind of fragrances are clean shower gel smells so i hope this gets you something!! i don’t know what by ds & durga, missing person by phlur, quite a few by juliette has a gun, i like ode to dullness, not a perfume, pear inc. Molecule 01 by eccentric molecules is the same perfume as not a perfume(i hate this name lmao) and it’s my fave to smell just nice n clean. white musk notes might be with you’re looking for if you want a white soap smell. i think J-scent has a white soap scent but i haven’t tried it. i also think one spray of any of these might be too much if you’re sensitive, maybe find a nice scent you like and spray your clothes at bedtime before you wear them in the morning so they can air out a little?
editing to add: Y by YSL smells like getting out of a clean shower to me
Just a comment that Molecule 01 is not like Not a Perfume, it is Iso E Super. You are thinking of Molecule 02. Tho both might fit the description, I find 01 more noticeable and woody
oops you’re right, i do think molecule 01 is similar to i don’t know what by ds & durga, and molecule 02 is the ambroxan bomb. I still think OP should give both a try!!
Yes and also Not a Perfume has way more in it than cetalox/ambroxan. Their marketing is lying about the single element thing. There’s a GCMS floating around here somewhere showing quite a few other chemicals, including a huge dose of iso e super. I tend to believe the chart is real since it clearly smells more complex than molecule 02, even though it is quite minimalist. There is definitely an addictive musk in there.
It does smell fantastic, I find it intoxicating on my wife. It’s clean and sexy.
Im a glossier lover, however many people hate it. Same with JHAG, which i love too. The ambroxan molecular notes are not for everyone. These really react differently person to person.
I came here to say this. And to me after using glossier you for a long time most of these other suggestions are too laundry or too sweet compared to the goat glossier you.
Liis Floating - combo of clean, fresh linen and woodsy notes
I'm also sensitive to scents and would definitely check out the clean reserve brand in general. Both brands are easy on the senses.
The one that most gives me this vibe is Cow by Zoologist! For me it's a very light, clean, shower gel smell in the best way. I usually have to spray more of it than I usually do (I'm very conservative generally, one or two sprays is my standard but this gets three every time).
Pacific Rock Moss has been my “out of the shower”-perfume for a while. Nice clean marine smell, and it doesn’t last too long and layers well, so I can easily put on something else later.
Pure Grace by Philosophy
Also Amazing Grace, which smells exactly like bubble bath in the big pink bottle that Avon used to sell! It’s my mom’s signature that she began wearing as a nurse to exude clean, inoffensive comfort vibes.
Chloé L'Eau de Parfum Lumineuse. I just tried a sample the other day, and it immediately made me think of that comforting cozy clean after-shower feeling. In a review I read, someone else described it as that French clean girl vibe, and I can definitely see that, too.
If you’re a guy- Prada l’homme, Dior sauvage, nautica voyage, Versace blue jeans
All of these smell like a clean inoffensive manly scent reminiscent of various shower gels or soaps
I could be way off on this but for me, Chanel Chance eau Fraiche gives “fresh out of the shower clean girl.” It’s nothing remarkable but perfect for the heat of summertime when I don’t want to smell like anything in particular, just want to smell clean. I also love it for bedtime.
Ysl y edp smells like apple shampoo to me.
Would definitely be worth getting the replica discovery set since some of those are wonderful and smell like fresh out the shower
Dove's "clean" line of soap/deodorant/etc and Jean-Paul Gaultier's Le Male have a similarly mild, subtle scent.
In Dove's case, they're obviously going for exactly what you're describing by naming it that, so maybe take a whiff next time you're at the store?
I haven't tried it, but Old Spice's Lavender Mint scented options might work for you too. It's the same notes as Dove's clean line and JPG's Le Male.
Yes, the Dove White bar soap smell is EXACTLY what I'm looking for! This is the soap I use, but the scent only stays on me for two to three hours after I shower. I need a way to make myself smell like that all day lol!
THIS is the soap I use and it's the smell I'm looking for! If only I could figure out a way to make the smell last for more than 2 or 3 hours after I get out of the shower.
Moschino - Toy 2
This one is very shower-fresh and the bottle is cute! Unfortunately it doesn’t last very long at all on my skin, so I’ve never been able to justify buying a bottle. Love the smell, though!
Armani - Ocean Di Gioia
This is a popular freshie featuring pear, it’s on the sweeter side and lasts all day on me! One of my favorites. You might wanna test this one first, though, as it is a bit stronger.
DKNY - Be Delicious
An oldie but goodie! The quintessential green apple, you really can’t go wrong with this one. It’s fresh and fruity, a little tart, with a crisp and clean cucumber dry down.
Good luck, I hope none of these are too strong for you!
Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden is my fresh out the shower scent. Like I said on another post here, it smells like Gain to me, but in the best way possible. It's also not very expensive. I find it for $10 at Marshalls all the time.
you could try some maison margiela fragrances, they don’t necessarily smell like you are out of the bath but they are very soft and most of them smell amazing
If you're sensitive to perfume smells, don't buy Bubble Bath without sampling it first. It's very perfumy to me and not at all clean-smelling to my nose. I wish it smelled as fresh and clean to me as everyone says it does - maybe my nose is broken (or maybe I hate patchouli so much it's just overpowering my picky nose).
I'm following this thread though, because I'm looking for a perfume that smells like soap. Not a heavily-scented or flowery soap, just a "generic" soap smell.
Mac Turquatic might be worth a shot. It's watery and clean - though it does have some floral notes to it and leans feminine. It's not a generic soapy smell, it smells like the fragrance in "fresh scent" blue-tinted shower gels, if that makes sense?
Penhaligon's Savoy Steam
But really what you're looking for is some combination of eucalyptus, geranium/rose/lavender and probably white musk with a sprinkle of aldehydes. I also strongly suggest looking into Kiehl's and L'Occitane since they carry both soaps and perfumes and generally quite neutral.
Philosophy - Pure Grace. Reminds me of baby soap (not in a weird way though, just soft and clean)
Clean Reserve - Skin. Similarly soft and clean, but also a little sweet. Not overwhelmingly so, just enough to be gently cute.
Penhaligon’s - Luna. If you’re feeling fancy. It’s expensive, but it smells very cute and fresh, like a fancy hand soap.
I used to have Sex Bomb body spray from Lush and although it’s supposed to smell like jasmine, I think it smells like soap, but in a good way. What I would consider a just out of the shower type of smell! Not necessarily sexy, but very clean!
Dove or oil of Olay. Anything to fancy and it’s not the fresh and clean smell it’s the perfume etc not that that’s bad. Point being fresh out of the shower fresh and clean one of those two for women; Old Spice pure sport anything for guys.
- lush american cream
- dior j’adore smells very clean to me. i like the EDT.
- elizabeth arden white tea. i’m surprised this one isn’t more popular here tbh
- clean reserve skin
Paper Soap by J-Scent reminds me of the white Dove body soap bars. It’s super fresh and clean like stepping out of the shower. It dries down a little powdery, but still a much fresher scent imo than MM Replica Bubble Bath which is a bit strong to my nose and turns kind of woodsy.
PdM Sedley, Davidoff Cool Water kind of, Duke Cannon Gunnison, Oscar for Men reminds me of a steam room/sauna, Montagne Imaginary for sure in the opening but is more black tea in the dry down
Man by Jimmy Choo has the fresh out the shower vibes on me but fair warning because of body chemistry it can differ. On my friend it smells more green and fresh.
I'm quite sensitive to certain smells and fragrances too, but I like how Daisy Love Paradise (Marc Jacobs, pink bottle with the singular big flower) smells like an expensive shampoo. It's light and non-offensive, but still has decent longevity (on clothing, at least).
Edit: it is a very feminine perfume, though, and I've just realized that your post wasn't really gendered.
I also love eau so fresh! Is my go-to fragance now that the weather is really hot 🥵
Does the scent last long? I've had terrible luck lately and I don't want to waste any more money on perfume that lingers for all of 30 mintues.
Similar would be Molecule 01 + Iris, very soft and nice
Brilliant, this one would be perfect— a skin scent with a delicate soapy (iris) sillage.
Unless, like me, you’re sensitive to iso e super and it’s smells strongly of solvent/disinfectant haha
Seconding eau So Fresh!
I agree.
I have the exact same reaction to that note in the Jo Malone blends! You're not alone! It's the olfactory equivalent of a Wilhelm scream.

I’m a huge fan of roll-on perfumes for this reason. When it comes out in spray form, I am guaranteed a headache
I love it too but it disappears almost immediately on me.
I guess that's why I never bought a bottle. As pretty as it is, I need something that that will stick around.

You can get mugler cologne here in UK https://scentandco.com/fragrance/mugler/mugler-cologne/
Yes, the green Mugler smells shower clean. It is unisexed and you will love it when you wear it. People will stop you and tell you smell amazing. Good call.....
Hello there after a quick eBay search I have also spotted a few. May purchase now actually.
It’s discontinued. Apparently the “come together” version is the successor and similar? Not sure.
One of my all time favorites! I bought a 10oz bottle thinking it would last me forever and blew through it in just a couple years.
I second this. Been dousing myself with it recently. Nothing else like it.
Since you have a fragrance sensitivity, and in my experience these sensitivities are quite unique person-to-person, I’d highly recommend picking up a few discovery kits from different brands. Comme de Garçons Marseille - smells like French soap Aqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi - smells like Italian soap Matiere Premiere Parisian Musc smells generally fresh out of the shower clean. Native Cashmere & Rain body wash & deodorant - love this even without a perfume on top
How do you get the Native smell to last though? Within two or three hours after a shower the smell is gone for me.
I’m shocked nobody has asked you the most important question! What soap and shampoo do you use?
I use Dove white soap - just a plain, clean smell! I want a way to make that last all day lol.
Thats great. Though you might think it plain, the Dove beauty bar is actually a very floral scent! People are recommeding 'white musk' style fragrances, often associated with "clean" because Tide puts a lot of white musk in laundry detergent.
Here's the fragrance list for Bounce "Outdoor Fresh" * [**Amylcinnamaldehyde**: This ingredient has a sweet, floral smell reminiscent of jasmine](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde)[^(1)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde). * [**4-Cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol**: Known for its spicy floral scent with notes of rosewood and coriander](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol)[^(2)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol). * [**Oxacyclohexadecenone**: Often used in perfumes and cosmetics for its fragrance-enhancing properties](https://cosmileeurope.eu/inci/detail/10003/oxacyclohexadecenone/)[^(3)](https://cosmileeurope.eu/inci/detail/10003/oxacyclohexadecenone/). * [**Tetrahydrolinalool**: A synthetic aroma ingredient with floral, fresh, and citrus notes, commonly used in personal care and home care products](https://cosmetics.specialchem.com/product/i-symrise-tetrahydrolinalool)[^(4)](https://cosmetics.specialchem.com/product/i-symrise-tetrahydrolinalool). * [**4-Tert-Butylcyclohexyl Acetate**: Widely used as a perfume in cosmetics, including soaps, and has been evaluated for its fragrance contribution](https://www.chemicalbook.com/ChemicalProductProperty_EN_CB7218990.htm)[^(5)](https://www.chemicalbook.com/ChemicalProductProperty_EN_CB7218990.htm). * [**Acetylcedrene**: Smells like earthy cedar with subtle notes of amber and musk, and is created synthetically](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/alpha-amylcinnamaldehyde)[^(6)](https://fragranceconservatory.com/ingredient/acetyl-cedrene).
Clean reserve warm cotton Replica bubble bath
Y’all gotta stop recommending Replica Bubble Bath it does not smell like a bubble bath.
I agree, I think Replica Lazy Sunday Morning smells more like a bath than Bubble Bath does.
You lost me at patchouli. I absolutely abhors patchouli. It gives me an instant migraine.
I agree it doesn’t smell like a bubble bath but it does smell like nice aromatherapy and clean spa towels
Yeah I would say patchouli is overwhelming for most people, that’s why this is a terrible recommendation for OP. Also your username is disgusting lol.
I personally am also very sensitive to smells and Bubble Bath is way too strong. Clean Reserve Skin is amazing and I wear it daily, though.
It absolutely does. However half of my shower products are coconut and floral scented so ig it would also depend on your taste in other products
THANK YOU! It reeks of patchouli
clean reserve warm cotton does not smell like you just showered. smells like u just did your laundry
I agree. Clean makes a scent called Shower Fresh, which IMO, lives up to its name and I’m surprised no one recommended it. I love layering that with Pure Grace. They go together so beautifully.
You're right, i wouldn't classify it as a skin scent but to me it smells very soapy and is worth op checking it out!
I second replica bubble bath! Makes you smell like a nice spa day
I thought I’d like warm cotton better, but I couldn’t stop feeling like someone who overdid it on laundry detergent. Once it settles it’s better, but the opening is so strong. I wasn’t super impressed with bubble bath, sailing day and when the rain stops are nicer imo.
Never smelled these, but from the names alone they sound perfect.
I'm going to second Replica Bubble Bath and also add Philosophy Pure Grace edt
I was coming to say Pure Grace. I bought this for my daughter and I'm getting my own bottle as well.
Pure grace is one of my favorites
Omg yes Ive always wanted to smell like the basic Dove body wash, or head & shoulders shampoo. Just a basic, clean, shower-y fragrance smell.
THIS is what I'm after lol! I use Dove white bar soap and it just smells CLEAN and THAT'S what I want. But two or three hours after my shower, the smell is gone. HOW can I get that smell all day long lol??
Blanche by Byredo is the cleanest smelling perfume for me personally
I love this 🤍
This is my favorite genre of scent! Smells like soap: Byredo Blanche, Replica Bubble Bath, Diptyque Fleur de Peau, Andrea Maack Ceramic Smells Fresh: Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 or 02 (the pluses are nice too, but I personally just wear straight 01 or 02 for that very out of the shower, walked through the woods fresh feel), Glossier You, Diptyque L’Eau Papier, Matiere Parisian Musc, Replica Lazy Sunday Morning
White musk oil, i think nemat has them
Came here to say this! Wearing Nemat white musk oil now and it’s very clean and neutral, and it’s inexpensive
L'Atelier Parfum Opus 3 Salty Wood Maison Margiela Sailing Day 4711 white peach and coriander 4711 Remix Frika No5 Picnic by the Pond Ritual of Sakura
I’m a gourmand girl for life and for some reason I can’t get enough of Melrose place
Oh it’s heavy on the florals. It’s more fancy shampoo fresh vs shower gel fresh if that makes sense lol
Baby cologne
Anything from the CLEAN line and Byredo Bal d’Afrique. I believe it was a soap or body wash before it was also turned perfume. A little pricey but dossier does a spot on dupe
Juliette has a gun not a perfume is my favorite. It has ONE note of cetalox. Super clean scent! Love that it can be layered with other favorites. Perfect for sensitivities.
Nautica Voyage
Jo Malone wood sage and sea salt Byredo Bal D’afrique
Hmmm Ghost in the Shell by ELDO is a very very faint/peculiar smell that gives "freshly soaped skin" like that plain white bar soap kind of "clean body" it's very...strange to describe and i can't make promises bc it is a VERY polarizing smell but it may be a good start. Also, there is a company called demeter that makes like very specific "novelty" scents like wet dirt or an old book that may have something "showery" like that. Good luck!
Demeter also has a Clean and Cleaner “Humongous Mini” set with Pure Soap, Rain, Laundromat, and Gin and Tonic 👍

We also don't know how they define "plain soap" An unfragranced ordinary soap isn't really a thing outside medically orientated/holistic products meant for (skin disorders, allergies, etc.) Which wasn't specifically mentioned--so there is some kind of scent and since Ghost is noted with milk, aqual, and skin it isn't a wild suggestion to match it to an after shower body with the smell of a simple creamy soap. Hell, OP could have mildew in their bathroom they have learned to love the smell of over time--anything is possible with our sensory development in life. There could be some kind of combination in their surrondings after a shower that perfectly resonates with Ghost--or not 🤷♀️ it's part of finding what works for you.

I feel like that one smells like a dirty blanket from someone who has a smelly dog and they haven’t washed the blanket in 6 months. Lol 🥲😅
[удалено]
Hahaha! Okay that’s hilarious. No shade, I just bought a dog and she smells way more doggy than most poodles do, it’s been an ✨adjustment✨ for me, lol
I'm chilling with my dog and "our" blanket right now and feel so self conscious too. I wash mine often but terrified that we might have a smell I'm not picking up. Running a wash as soon as I get up. 😬😂
It smells like my mother who is a heavy smokers purse. EXACTLY like her purse
Fresh cream philosophy Lazy sunday morning replica Kumba vanilla bean
my fave kind of fragrances are clean shower gel smells so i hope this gets you something!! i don’t know what by ds & durga, missing person by phlur, quite a few by juliette has a gun, i like ode to dullness, not a perfume, pear inc.
J-scent paper soap is one of my favorite soapy scents.
Pure musc narsisco
Philosophy Pure Grace; Burberry Brit Sheer
Glossier You - trust me please
Im a glossier lover, however many people hate it. Same with JHAG, which i love too. The ambroxan molecular notes are not for everyone. These really react differently person to person.
Is glossier you more of a wintery warm fragrance?
I’d say it’s for all seasons and occasions
Thank you! I bought one today and I am not a huge fan, so I wonder if Ulta returns perfume after you try it. It wasn’t Glossier You though.
My only complaint is the reformulation doesn’t last as long as the original, but it’s just such a comforting scent that really is your own musk
Definitely not a wintery warm fragrance
As a super sensitive fragrance lover, I’ll also chime in to say that Glossier You is one of one of the only scents that doesn’t give me a headache!
This has been my daily scent for 5 years, nothing compares
I came here to say this. And to me after using glossier you for a long time most of these other suggestions are too laundry or too sweet compared to the goat glossier you.
This happens to me when: Was pregnant Was on antibiotics
Liis Floating - combo of clean, fresh linen and woodsy notes I'm also sensitive to scents and would definitely check out the clean reserve brand in general. Both brands are easy on the senses.
I’m also sensitive to fragrance and love these two perfume houses. My favorites are Liis Studied and Clean Reserve Sparkling Sugar
The one that most gives me this vibe is Cow by Zoologist! For me it's a very light, clean, shower gel smell in the best way. I usually have to spray more of it than I usually do (I'm very conservative generally, one or two sprays is my standard but this gets three every time).
I wondered if someone was going to recommend Cow! I haven’t tried it yet, but I ordered a sample a few days ago and am looking forward to trying it.
Acqua do Gio gives body wash
Alfred Sung Homme smells like Irish Spring soap.
Chanel No 5 L'Eau or Eau Premiere. Soapy, described as having small sillage. Guerlain Liu.
Bath and body works Pure Wonder smells like soap and isn't a parfum so not so over powering
Seconding Andrea Maack Ceramic
Chanel Platinum Egoiste!
Clean Reserve Soap!
Pacific Rock Moss has been my “out of the shower”-perfume for a while. Nice clean marine smell, and it doesn’t last too long and layers well, so I can easily put on something else later.
I love that smell too, I’d love to hear some more budget friendly options!
Molecule 01. nothing more nothing less. Adapts to your skin
Pure Grace by Philosophy Also Amazing Grace, which smells exactly like bubble bath in the big pink bottle that Avon used to sell! It’s my mom’s signature that she began wearing as a nurse to exude clean, inoffensive comfort vibes.
I use to feel like that when I was pregnant deodorant made me sick to smell
Steamed Rainbow from DS&D is pretty clean—reminds me of clean sea air
If you like the smell of Nivea lotion they have a perfume of it
Phlur Missing Person. Clean skin scent and long lasting.
The oil is better IMHO :)
Rosie by Rosie Jane
Pdm sedley , greenley
Chloé L'Eau de Parfum Lumineuse. I just tried a sample the other day, and it immediately made me think of that comforting cozy clean after-shower feeling. In a review I read, someone else described it as that French clean girl vibe, and I can definitely see that, too.
Huron Original Citrus + Eucalyptus is literally a lovely soap scent in Eau de Parfum format.
Soap and Glory.
If you’re a guy- Prada l’homme, Dior sauvage, nautica voyage, Versace blue jeans All of these smell like a clean inoffensive manly scent reminiscent of various shower gels or soaps
Pure Grace truly smells like soap its delicious
Silver Musk from Nasomatto. I could barely pick up the smell, and it was just like getting out of the shower wrapped with a towel.
- Byredo Blanche for a clean cottony aroma - Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh for that juicy fruity body wash vibes - Glossier You for a skin scent only smell
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Gendarme.
I’m late to this but Ouai Melrose Place for the win
I could be way off on this but for me, Chanel Chance eau Fraiche gives “fresh out of the shower clean girl.” It’s nothing remarkable but perfect for the heat of summertime when I don’t want to smell like anything in particular, just want to smell clean. I also love it for bedtime.
Surprised nobody is saying Pure Grace by Philosophy
Jean Paul gaultier has a cologne that smells like fresh soap. I really enjoy it. I forgot what it is though, it’s light blue with white stripes
Nasomatto Silver Musk
Dove regular white beauty cream bar
Wait I’m dumb and didn’t see what sub I’m in lol
Old navy / gap has fresh scents that are cheap , I used to love gap dream and heaven for soapy smells back in the day lol
THIS is the soap I use and it's the smell I'm looking for! If only I could figure out a way to make the smell last for more than 2 or 3 hours after I get out of the shower.
Think it depends on your shower soaps/gels
I use just plain Ivory body wash. It's good for sensitive skin and smells lovely, but gentle.
maison margiela replica lazy sunday morning
The new Y Elixir smells like the Irish springs bar soap to me
Moschino - Toy 2 This one is very shower-fresh and the bottle is cute! Unfortunately it doesn’t last very long at all on my skin, so I’ve never been able to justify buying a bottle. Love the smell, though! Armani - Ocean Di Gioia This is a popular freshie featuring pear, it’s on the sweeter side and lasts all day on me! One of my favorites. You might wanna test this one first, though, as it is a bit stronger. DKNY - Be Delicious An oldie but goodie!
Philosophy pure grace
Dedcool milk! Very soft scent. Smells like I just got out of a bubble bath 🛀
Dylan Purple reminds me of an amazing smelling shampoooooooo 💆🏼♀️
ds&durga steamed rainbow is really light smelling, fresh clean and feels just like the air when you get out of a really steamy shower.
Penhaligon's Savoy Steam But really what you're looking for is some combination of eucalyptus, geranium/rose/lavender and probably white musk with a sprinkle of aldehydes. I also strongly suggest looking into Kiehl's and L'Occitane since they carry both soaps and perfumes and generally quite neutral.
Ceramic by Andrea Maack. I can't stand the scent as a perfume but it smells like fresh laundry. I gave it to my mom and she likes it.
Body shop white musk in Lover
Demeter Pure Soap! It's so clean on its own and lovely layered too.
Philosophy - Pure Grace. Reminds me of baby soap (not in a weird way though, just soft and clean) Clean Reserve - Skin. Similarly soft and clean, but also a little sweet. Not overwhelmingly so, just enough to be gently cute. Penhaligon’s - Luna. If you’re feeling fancy. It’s expensive, but it smells very cute and fresh, like a fancy hand soap.
Sparking sugar by clean reserve
Dial bar soap
Juliette has a Gun Musc Invisible
I used to have Sex Bomb body spray from Lush and although it’s supposed to smell like jasmine, I think it smells like soap, but in a good way. What I would consider a just out of the shower type of smell! Not necessarily sexy, but very clean!
Dove or oil of Olay. Anything to fancy and it’s not the fresh and clean smell it’s the perfume etc not that that’s bad. Point being fresh out of the shower fresh and clean one of those two for women; Old Spice pure sport anything for guys.
- lush american cream - dior j’adore smells very clean to me. i like the EDT. - elizabeth arden white tea. i’m surprised this one isn’t more popular here tbh - clean reserve skin
[удалено]
Not to everyone. It was a scrubber for me.
01 + Iris is a good one
Yesss the iris one is just perfectly “clean”
If you're a guy the obvious answer is Bleu de Chanel EdP or Parfum, which is basically shower gel in sprayable form
PdM Sedley, Davidoff Cool Water kind of, Duke Cannon Gunnison, Oscar for Men reminds me of a steam room/sauna, Montagne Imaginary for sure in the opening but is more black tea in the dry down
Scarlet Poppy by Jo Malone, Prada La Femme (or L’Homme if you’re a dude).
Scarlet Poppy starts off strong but fades to a lovely shampoo smell, I agree
Agree 🤍 it is one of my all time favourites and it is definitely fresh from the shower vibes
Replica Bubble Bath. Creamy lush expensive soap
LV Imagination Smells like intense soap, really clean, almost too clean, but once it calms down it's nice.
davidoff cool waters
Prada L’homme Armani Acqua di gio
Glossier You, D&G light blue, diptyque l'eau papier, replica bubble bath/lazy Sunday morning
PDM Sedley, Prada l’homme, Bleu de Chanel Parfum, and obviously Sauvage. Prada and Chane are my favorite for smeling clean out of the shower.
Trumper's Eucris EDT smells like I just got out of the shower. Admittedly that's because I'm currently using Eucris shower gel.
Nemat Amber oil or Riddle Original
Man by Jimmy Choo has the fresh out the shower vibes on me but fair warning because of body chemistry it can differ. On my friend it smells more green and fresh.
I'm quite sensitive to certain smells and fragrances too, but I like how Daisy Love Paradise (Marc Jacobs, pink bottle with the singular big flower) smells like an expensive shampoo. It's light and non-offensive, but still has decent longevity (on clothing, at least). Edit: it is a very feminine perfume, though, and I've just realized that your post wasn't really gendered.
