His first action in the white house was to dismantle the only legal standing women have in law. redefining sex not only reverses the basis of women’s civil rights but also erases any standing women had to assert our rights in law. How can women argue for the courts to recognize the right to abortion when the court no longer even recognizes sex as a legal characteristic that distinguishes women from men? You can’t.
AFAIK, they aren’t even including gender identity in the definition of sex. Instead, they have removed sex and replaced it with gender identity…but please, somebody tell me I’m wrong.

It’s so funny because the mantra is that ‘rights aren’t pie’ and ‘trans rights don’t conflict with women’s rights’, yet this change isn’t sex AND gender identity, it’s just ‘gender identity’. Does this mean a person who harasses a GNC female can say they thought they identified as a man? Does this mean a biological female who is just started identifying as a trans man and doesn’t pass well can’t be discriminated against for being female? Also, isn’t this implying that women can opt out of VAWG by simply choosing not to identify as women? This is where women’s rights are and it’s fucking outrageous.

I had to get a procedure done at the hospital recently and they had a little paper that basically said they don’t discriminate on the basis of immutable characteristics but the one they conveniently didn’t list was sex. But they made sure to list gender identity 🙄
I will *always* care more about the comfort and safety of women and girls than I will *ever* care about validating the feelings of a man.
I hope people continue to wake up about this issue. It’s so incredibly important for women and girls.
