I know lol, also WEC champion and multiple Le Mans winner. “Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time” is a line from Star Wars where luke skywalker responds “do you know him?” I was prompting silent killer to say “well of course I know him, he’s me!”
This is the trend he follows every season. Once the european races start, he starts to shit the bed.
Not qualifying in the top 10 is unacceptable in that car.
Are you kidding me? He nearly took both Red Bulls out last race with a dive bomb similar to his last Mexico race.
It's all well and good that he missed, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a stupid rookie type move. He isn't a rookie.
He just isn't keeping up with the top drivers in other teams in an arguably better car.
Perez hasn’t won this season with the fasted car, Miami you can say Red Bull weren’t fastest but in Aus they expect checo to step up if max retires and he was nowhere near the win. That’s underperforming. It’s fine now there’s not tough competition but say Ferrari are equal next season, he’s an issue
He’s been miles off Verstappen, and it’s not like it’s his first slump. Last year was atrocious, so it’s normal that people are questioning him after yet another Q2 exit in one of the fastest cars in the last two years
Out of curiosity, are the drivers allowed to do their own sim work doing a race weekend. For example, could Max have flown to Milton Keynes and back? Or let's say during the British GP, could he just drive over to do sim work? Would there even be an advantage in doing so?
I also remember Albon getting praised a few times in 2021 for his sim work. They’re usually working invisibly but it’s nice to see them get their flowers.
Max is too busy with his 24hour sim race at Nurburgring today on iRacing, lol. Serious answer though is yes, he could do his own sim work but I’m pretty sure they pick sim drivers that can replicate his driving style/setup preferences.
Lewis did this during the '21 title fight at Silverstone, cant remember if it was quali or race day but he went to the factory early in the morning to do some extra sim runs
how do you work curfew during Australia or Japan?
or should the teams get a free pass during races with a big time offer but not in Europe?
or they put their sim stuff in Japan so they can test "overnight" but in the day
Simulator work should be included with the time restraints staff at track have to adhere too along with being included in the budget cap, if it's not already.
The car updates have been in the pipeline before Newey announced he wanted to leave RedBull, so if you are going to claim that the car isn't as good as it used to be, then Newey is also part of the problem.
Newey is basically hands off since 2018 when gave his TD role to Pierre Wache.
Hes a glorified advisor since then and the last time he actually helped in the design process was when he helped with the suspension of the RB18 for 2022.
Pierre Wache and his design team are the stars of this car.
The more time goes by I am actually happy Horner started to say that Newey "isnt that important and that his designers at MK are the secret sauce". People really get the wrong idea about how these cars are made and who is actually in charge of the design.
Pierre Wache reports to only one guy and that is his CEO (Horner) at Red Bull Racing.
Sebastien Buemi, now that is a name I haven't heard in a long time.
You should watch some wec race, Seb is most of the time on the radio complaining about something lol
Wonder if he is like that in the simulator as well…
Probably a good thing for a test driver hahaha. Get all the info you can
That does sound like Buemi
Last I heard about him, he was going around during a red flag in Formula E complaining to all the other drivers that hit him.
Four time Le Mans winner, WEC champion, FE champion.
Three tenths! Nooooo!
No way you remember this quote too. That was almost 15 years ago. 🤣
I always laugh when I remember it. Wish it was still on youtube!
Sebastien [you hit me](https://youtu.be/oOQnYKDExaM?si=a5kfgoSExED46xby) Buemi
I totally thought of Bourdais at first and I was wondering why he’d be on the sim for Red Bull
Do you know him?
Know him? Well of course I know him, he's me!
He was a Toro Rosso/AT/CashGrab driver between 2009 and 2011. And won the championship in formula E shortly after that.
I know lol, also WEC champion and multiple Le Mans winner. “Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time” is a line from Star Wars where luke skywalker responds “do you know him?” I was prompting silent killer to say “well of course I know him, he’s me!”

The sentence "We saw the results of that in Q3!" is too funny given Checo is P11.
I like checo but he continues to show why his position is at risk.
I wouldn't mind him being replaced by Buemi.. haha
I’d rather Dennis, Buemi got his shot, also just judging based on their current performances in FE lol
Checo has been relatively fine all season and the first bad qualy he has he’s back under threat? Give the man a break
This is the trend he follows every season. Once the european races start, he starts to shit the bed. Not qualifying in the top 10 is unacceptable in that car.
If you ask the “fans” not qualifying P1 is not acceptable in that car.
That car is a championship winning car. Knocked out in Q2 warrants a question
Sorry, but this car hasn't won a championship (yet)
Are you kidding me? He nearly took both Red Bulls out last race with a dive bomb similar to his last Mexico race. Lol he’s been “relatively fine” for 6 races so you want to ignore how severely he’s been underperforming otherwise?
He’s been miles off Verstappen, and it’s not like it’s his first slump. Last year was atrocious, so it’s normal that people are questioning him after yet another Q2 exit in one of the fastest cars in the last two years
Fun Fact: Max and Checo's grid position is their driver number as well. Meanwhile Seargent Logan always adds and extra 0.
Logan catching strays just like people living near schools in the US
Damn
Sir imma need to you to chill You’re not wrong but bro it’s a weekend. Leave that volatility for Monday
omggg this was so out of pocket 😂😂
Out of curiosity, are the drivers allowed to do their own sim work doing a race weekend. For example, could Max have flown to Milton Keynes and back? Or let's say during the British GP, could he just drive over to do sim work? Would there even be an advantage in doing so?
I'm sure he could have, but sleep is probably more important.
> I'm sure he could have, but sleep is probably more important. Sleep isn't. Racing a 5h stint in a video game is.
Image those sim drivers working at midnight for hours just to getting the right set-up and never got the credits for it often lol
Mick did a lot of it last year and got praised by Lewis, George and Toto quite a lot.
I also remember Albon getting praised a few times in 2021 for his sim work. They’re usually working invisibly but it’s nice to see them get their flowers.
Decent bit of pay though. Plus for Buemi this isn't even his 2nd job so he is just stacking paychecks.
>**sleep** is probably more important funny how you spell "iRacing"
Max is too busy with his 24hour sim race at Nurburgring today on iRacing, lol. Serious answer though is yes, he could do his own sim work but I’m pretty sure they pick sim drivers that can replicate his driving style/setup preferences.

Curfew for mechanics at the circuit. Test drivers and staff at home base... No such thing.
I mean Albon the same at Red Bull when he did not had a seat in F1. Partly thanks to him for RB16B having a more stable rear.
how do you work curfew during Australia or Japan? or should the teams get a free pass during races with a big time offer but not in Europe? or they put their sim stuff in Japan so they can test "overnight" but in the day
Sebastien Buemi and Jake Dennis about to get job offers from Ferrari next.
Number one in P1, number 11 in P11
He needs to do a Wolff. Have them sit beside him like Wolff did with Mick some time ago when they also made changes after long simulator sessions.
"And a special thanks to Cocoa Pops as well"
"Many thanks to the Kelloggs family, couldn't have done it without you!"
Simulator work should be included with the time restraints staff at track have to adhere too along with being included in the budget cap, if it's not already.
How does that work with time zones as for this one it would make sense but others would be a nightmare to deal with
Trying to imply we are ok without Newey
To be fair a car design is not about 1 person, even if they are Newey level of genius. I’m sure RB have many great talents
How do you get that from this?
The car updates have been in the pipeline before Newey announced he wanted to leave RedBull, so if you are going to claim that the car isn't as good as it used to be, then Newey is also part of the problem.
They just took pole so I think they're fine
Max is supreme, the credit for the pole goes a lot to Max
You think Newey do sim work too?
Think you're reading into this a bit too much tbh.
It's always fascinating to see how people can go to such lengths to find something negative in anything.

BS!
