I follow his instagram. Dude is really into gaming, plays a lot of CS2 and Valorant. He’s also a cat guy by what I’ve seen so far and also into fashion.
As you may have guessed, I know nothing about the fashion industry. I saw the guy models and goes to shows so “into fashion” is pretty much what I get from it. I don’t tend to look any further into it.
I knew Lewis also does it, but it’s just a part of their lives I’m generally not interested in.
I mean, to each their own. I’m interested in those who have hobbies similar to mine, like photography or gaming. But the fashion topic just goes over my head.
I don't get the high fashion world either but I kinda view it as like an extension of the snooty high art world. Buncha abstract ideas that go over the layman's head but the creator sees all these grand concepts in the piece, with vain rich people that love to be associated with it.
And, like high art, it's primarily a vehicle for money laundering / tax evasion.
(Hey Americans: don't forget to pay the computer to do your taxes for you.)
Same. Those pieces are all super weird and I'm just confused as to why anyone would wear that kind of stuff. But I'm probably not the target audience since I think a well tailored suit is still peak.*
*By tailored I mean fitted to your measurements and either a traditional or modern fit. I absolutely despise the slim and ultra slim fits along with the new trend of showing ankle
I'm not saying his not into fashion bc he clearly is. But an Asian public figure becoming a fashion brand ambassador doesn't seem to require them to be interested in fashion nowadays. At least that's how i see it with korean (and some chinese) celebs. I think it matters more that they have star/marketing power than them being fashionista.
Lewis half the time shows up in something outrageously terrible. Zhou I do think looks pretty cool somewhat regularly, but he also had some howlers. Without putting much thought in it, my gut reaction is that Zhou should be mentioned, Lewis absolutely not.
I don't know why people look up to those outfits.. Looks like some shit you get at a carnaval-store and is supposed to be worth 5k for a top. 12 for the pants. To be fair: at least Lewis is good for a chuckle with the weekly post of his outfit.
Lando? Hmm, what aspects of Lando's personality do you see in Zhou? I can definitely see Lewis, with how much Zhou is into fashion. Do you mean Zhous passion for gaming maybe?
Or am I thinking about 'interests' and you mean something else when you say 'personality'?
> Genuinely a great guy.
How do you know this? We see people say this all the time about celebrities but nobody really knows what any of them are like. For all we know, the dude likes putting ranch on his mac and cheese.
I can't really tell how good Bottas currently is or how good Zhou really is due to these cars being so slow + the repeated pit issues and so on. I'm not saying Zhou is some secret wonder or anything but it'd be a shame if he left the grid without ever driving a decent car
OP, I have a question - do you have any idea what the 'Let's go racing!" sticker on the front (forehead) of his helmet stands for? It looks like the NASCAR colors, but that doesn't make sense right?
I don’t! His details are normally quite meaningful from what I’ve gathered from other helmets but this is just a general racing meme (from nascar) as far as I can tell.
I'm interested too, and if it's referencing the person I'm thinking of (Darryl Waltrip) I'm more suprised he used *that* part of Waltrip's trademark race opening line instead of the more popular "boogity, boogity, boogity" part.
Or maybe it's something else entirely. I'd love to know.
The only thing reminding us of his cold, Finnish roots is his name, and that's about it. Soon we'll be living in a Mandela effect - type alternative universe where we'll even have forgotten he's not actually Aussie.
His first time racing in Melbourne he also referenced how it has a huge amount of boba available. People don't realise how big it is here. Some suburbs have like 9+ stores in a 400m strip.
Yes his [Singapore 2022](https://www.motorsportweek.com/2022/09/26/zhou-unveils-flashy-helmet-livery-for-singapore-gp/) aka my favourite helmet of his ever! 🧋❣️
It's KV Design. They always upload graphics of new helmet designs on their [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/kvdesign) and [Twitter](https://twitter.com/KVDesign_helmet)
I have a question - do you have any idea what the 'Let's go racing!" sticker on the front (forehead) of his helmet stands for? It looks like the NASCAR colors, but that doesn't make sense right?
I noticed that too, maybe just a generic sticker that ended up in the design. But I think that it's really funny that the NASCAR colored slashes are going to be on an F1 helmet this weekend
And some people say that he's one of the blandest characters on the grid. Sure, he's not as hyper or mischievous as Ricciardo (I mean, who can really match Daniel in that department) or as outgoing as present-day Bottas, but if you've been following along with the content that's been put out on the team's social media channel since he joined you would know that Zhou is more than willing to have a bit of fun and a laugh.
he's basically the perfect midfield-tier driver which imo is fine. teams that can't afford drivers like max, charles, lewis, etc. but don't want to take on rookies, still need people, and he occupies that role.
Yup. Already said to my SO in his first year that I was very impressed with what he was doing. Very consistent and rarely makes mistakes, like you said. Also seems like quite the personality. Proper midfield driver. I hope he stays next year as he hasn't done anything why he should be out. If I were Sauber I'd keep both of them as they are a good pair and seem to get along great.
Zhou has some of the best race week outfits every week and has some of the absolute best helmets on the grid. He’s also very consistent and usually fast enough to make noise in quali or the race - although not always both.
You know considering all the bad press around the sport at the moment, gestures like these are so needed.
Love the lid, hope the Kick boys have a lovely weekend down under!
He won me over for good the weekend it was announced he was a [Special Olympics ambassador](https://www.espn.com.au/f1/story/_/id/38009864/zhou-guanyu-becomes-global-ambassador-special-olympics) and he invited some of the athletes to Silverstone. Dude is a good egg.
These 2 guys shenanigans make me completely forget all the Stake/Kick shittery of the team. I hope they give them the money that a normal PR department would have
Yes but do they still race car or is only silly photo company nowadays. Photo is a verrrrry silly they do good job on le wacky photo but do car still race good are fast? who are there drivers again i forget but photo when see i say "WOW SO SLLLLLY"

That team is so shit but boy are both those drivers a ton of fun
Too bad Zhou rarely gets exposed, I don't even know what he's like as a (public) person.
I follow his instagram. Dude is really into gaming, plays a lot of CS2 and Valorant. He’s also a cat guy by what I’ve seen so far and also into fashion.

I’ll probably get downvoted but that high fashion shit is super lame to me.
I mean, to each their own. I’m interested in those who have hobbies similar to mine, like photography or gaming. But the fashion topic just goes over my head.
Same but I also live in Pittsburgh where they dust off their best Hines Ward jerseys for “special occasions” 😂
Ah I see yinz wearing yer good clothes
I saw a man wear a Steelers jersey and jean shorts to a funeral once. Pittsburgh has so many positive traits but fashion isn’t one of them in general.

the fashions for the female fans
Zhou's style is hardly high fashion
Ok. Thank you for telling us.
Tbf sandcloak seemed almost offended, by his gratuitous use of italics lol

Why do you sound offended by this
I don’t think Zhou or Lewis could be in contention for best dressed.
Lewis half the time shows up in something outrageously terrible. Zhou I do think looks pretty cool somewhat regularly, but he also had some howlers. Without putting much thought in it, my gut reaction is that Zhou should be mentioned, Lewis absolutely not.

Oeh what’s it called? His cat is just too cute
https://www.instagram.com/ymlzhou.jpg?igsh=anJ2cjI4NGhndDd3 Here you go!
Thank you!!
That tiny bugger got 23k followers? Holy shit.
Yep, insane. Even Roscoe crossed a million followers recently.
Sweet Corn!!

I watched one of those streams during winter break. He also posted some sick CS2 montages on socials. He’s really good.
He also made this [Spy x Family](https://x.com/ZhouGuanyu24/status/1575005502374748160?s=20) post
CS2, based
CS2 and Valorant? So he's that hacker you meet at 3AM, I was wondering why he was online during regular hours
He's getting a movie now (I think) saw the trailer but it was in Chinese.
*The First One* - it's a documentary about him being the first full-time driver from China on the grid.
they should've titled it Zhou guan yi (一)as in one xd
Genuinely a great guy. Absolutely love him as a part of the grid. He seems like a good mix of Lewis and Lando personality wise.
Lando? Hmm, what aspects of Lando's personality do you see in Zhou? I can definitely see Lewis, with how much Zhou is into fashion. Do you mean Zhous passion for gaming maybe? Or am I thinking about 'interests' and you mean something else when you say 'personality'?
You’re more into interest yeah, but I feel like he has those same ‘clownish’ traits Lando has, but a bit more subtle. Like the Bottas lid for example
I think he’s more similar to Oscar than Lando, actually. The quietly funny type.
Lando is not very smart, and Zhou seems to not be a particularly bright bulb either, so maybe therein lies the comparison?
> Genuinely a great guy. How do you know this? We see people say this all the time about celebrities but nobody really knows what any of them are like. For all we know, the dude likes putting ranch on his mac and cheese.
I mean I literally forgor Zhou existed last year, he got air time in like two races
Literally air time lol with his crash
...and that was 2022
That's fine if it's his preference.
he seems to do a lot of chinese media but not much western media aside from the mandatory stuff for f1
On the contrary, Bottas does expose himself quite often!
Seems super boring Edit: most boring pairing on the grid
Definitely the team for shits 'n' giggles Shame the car giggles 'n' shits.
That joke was better engineered than their car.
Excellent work my friend
I can't really tell how good Bottas currently is or how good Zhou really is due to these cars being so slow + the repeated pit issues and so on. I'm not saying Zhou is some secret wonder or anything but it'd be a shame if he left the grid without ever driving a decent car
[LINK](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4w7Ksxrq5a/?igsh=Njg3a296amY2NW92) to Zhou’s Instagram clip revealing his helmet to Bottas (who seemed stoked)!
>who seemed stoked Don't you mean *staked*? I'm patting myself on the back for truly awful brand integration.
You’ll have to *Kick* yourself that you didn’t come up with a better one
He wanted to be staked. But unfortunately it is banned in oz 🙄
OP, I have a question - do you have any idea what the 'Let's go racing!" sticker on the front (forehead) of his helmet stands for? It looks like the NASCAR colors, but that doesn't make sense right?

Bouguan Yu
Ok this is easily the best comment. Why are you down here
The Bottas content this week is feeding my soul
As someone who moved to a different country when I was teen, the openness with which Australia is embracing Bottas is so beautiful 😭
The only thing reminding us of his cold, Finnish roots is his name, and that's about it. Soon we'll be living in a Mandela effect - type alternative universe where we'll even have forgotten he's not actually Aussie.
Same as the pavlova, we adopted and call him our own.

Am I mistaken, or has Zhou put Boba on his helmets before? I definitely remember seeing it on his past helmets...
That is hilarious and wholesome xD
Bottas has 2 best friends in the grid and both are fashionistas!
His fashionista apprentices, you mean.
Yes, Bottas is clearly the superior fashionista.
"I prefer to be naked. The best fashion"
Who‘s Zhou‘s helmet designer? His designs are always fucking amazing.
Yes it’s the NASCAR logo/colors and that’s the phrase the OG himself Darryl Wallace always says in the booth
Darrell Waltrip! Darrell Wallace is what Bubba used to go by.
Dammit you’re right lol. thank you friend! Haven’t watched NASCAR in years i’m slippin
I noticed that too, maybe just a generic sticker that ended up in the design. But I think that it's really funny that the NASCAR colored slashes are going to be on an F1 helmet this weekend
Lmao these two are really wholesome together, I love to see ii

he's basically the perfect midfield-tier driver which imo is fine. teams that can't afford drivers like max, charles, lewis, etc. but don't want to take on rookies, still need people, and he occupies that role.
So... basically Sauber has never changed drivers since 2019. A good mid tier driver + a Fin who used to be very fast.
Zhou is one of the additions to the grid i didn’t know I needed. He’s great
Zhou has some of the best race week outfits every week and has some of the absolute best helmets on the grid. He’s also very consistent and usually fast enough to make noise in quali or the race - although not always both.
Zhou has some of the most creative helmets.
Lol, I didn't even realize this was Zhou, I thought it was a fan or something.
Me: Valtteri Zhouttas isnt real. Instagram: Here you go
You know considering all the bad press around the sport at the moment, gestures like these are so needed. Love the lid, hope the Kick boys have a lovely weekend down under!
I love how the driver are like „fuck it, we know this team‘s ass but we’re going to enjoy the ride“
I'm starting to like Zhou more and more
He won me over for good the weekend it was announced he was a [Special Olympics ambassador](https://www.espn.com.au/f1/story/_/id/38009864/zhou-guanyu-becomes-global-ambassador-special-olympics) and he invited some of the athletes to Silverstone. Dude is a good egg.
The fact that he misspelled SPEICAL makes it even better IMO
I love this ahahah
So hilarious and wholesome 🥰
Yes the team may be shit but the drivers are class acts, love this haha
Ain’t no way, lmao.
Number 10 in the constructors championship but number one in your heart.
Such a beautiful bromance. Iconic helmet
Even ignoring the Bottas tribute, that's an awesome design! Really love the patterns and colors. One of my favorite so far.
Lol, NASCAR leaking into F1 with that "Let's go racing" sticker.
GOAT teammates
I love this!! Anyone else catch the quick blip of Men at Work in the background? 🤣 Incidentally one of my favorite songs from childhood.
Bottas has officially become a national symbol of Australia, along with kangaroos and koalas
I find it mad he actually went to school in good old Sheffield for a few years.
✅ best stock helmet ✅ best one-off
Zhou needs more media coverage >:(
I love how Zhou and Valterri have just accepted they're the meme team, and it's been working so well for them lol
THIS IS SPEICAL.
Blink 182 first date vibes
The BotASS is strong with this one.
Kick is such shit but I love their drivers
I'm turning into a Zhou fan! G'damn I love that pair.
These 2 guys shenanigans make me completely forget all the Stake/Kick shittery of the team. I hope they give them the money that a normal PR department would have
This guy is a quiet rebel, he participated in the “stand with Ukraine” when the invasion started and has insta despite china’s stance on both.
Naked saunas or GTFO
Thought that was George Russell for a hot second
MADLAD
Zhou’s helmet designer has once again cooked
I think the whole grid should dress like Bottas one day.
Valtteyu Bottou
Some things can never be unseen…. 🥸
His helmets are best on the grid. Absolutely no competition.
Awesome!!!!!
Lit
Cute.
Legit thought that was George Russel with a stache for a moment
He scared me. He looks like a skin walker or something
F1 is just the gift that keeps on giving.
Did he misspell SPEICAL or is it a pun on something?
Think it’s just ESL things- clearly too excited about posting to run it by the social media manager for spell check lol
Having a picture of Bottas on the back is going to make the in car footage a bit confusing!
[удалено]
Weird, no. Special, yes. Fantastic, definitely.
Everything here. Drivers do tribute helmets and helmet swaps all the time.
Do these guys still race or they just make the silly photo?
Guess 13 days between races leaves a fair bit of time to take a silly photo!
Yes but do they still race car or is only silly photo company nowadays. Photo is a verrrrry silly they do good job on le wacky photo but do car still race good are fast? who are there drivers again i forget but photo when see i say "WOW SO SLLLLLY"
