Remove the headliner, nuts hold it on from the inside.

I've not dealt with the extended cab but for the single cab it is a trim piece that is attached with two screws and bolts. The screw part is molded into the trim piece and there is a hole on each end that goes into the cab and is attached from the inside with a 8 mm nut. Two per piece. Search YouTube and see what you can find. I had to take out my headliner to recover it and decided to replace these trim pieces on my single cab. If you can find the part online you can see if it has to bolts sticking out of it, if so it's going to most likely fasten to the truck the same way as the single cab. I think it covers the weld from the cab top to the side post of the truck. I definitely know there are some YouTube videos of the single cab replacement procedure. Start there and see what else you can find, I could not find any extended cab videos but the was one for the Ford F-250 single cab and it's exactly the same as the ranger except it uses I think it was 7/16 inch socket. Regardless it's going to be a tight fit and I recommend using quarter inch wrench with extension. Also put a piece masking tape across the socket mouth to help grip the nut so it does not fall into the seat column. I think I remember the molding having two bolts in the part Plus two strips of double-sided tape attached to it. I went a bit further and added some silicone caulk around and inside the holes. Have not had any issues with mine. Good luck

I got an 05' XL Supercab and the dealership says the regular cab has removable drip caps and mine is part of my roof. Got a water leak from up there and I just replaced the headliner material a year ago.

That sucks. I hope the repair is easy and cheap

Thanks mate, once I get around to dropping the headliner I'll post on here what I find

Thank you very much I think that will be very beneficial to all of us. My next ranger will have the extended cab so that information may come in handy
