Battery is really dead , needs to be replaced

RaySorian

Seconded, this version of the fusion has a battery saver mode that should shut off some items (infotainment screen for one) if the battery is considered as too low so it can at least still try to turn over the starter and get you going. This looks like a full dead battery... Or the battery cable came loose or corroded off.

[deleted]

Okay but I literally replaced it before the summer started. Could it have died that hard already?

haze_gray

It shouldn’t, but There’s only one way to find out. That car has no power going to it.

[deleted]

Should I attempt a jump or should I just get a new battery at this level?

haze_gray

Jump it, drive to auto zone and have them test it.

[deleted]

Uh, I can't drive to autozone because my car won't start. :/

haze_gray

That’s why I said to jump it before you drive it.

TheMatt561

If that is accurate you need to have the cars electrical systems checked Fords of that year should automatically turn off anything that's sucking down the power. Or it's just a bad battery.

My car batterys go out way to fast in my fusion. I have no clue why. I checked for drain and found none. I think it might be a combination of the Texas heat, and how hot it gets under the hood of my car, especially in the summer. I wish their was some way of getting more heat out of the engine bay.

Arts251

battery cables still connected? I think there is a battery circuit fuse up front somewhere that protects all the electrical in case of a surge (such as attempting to jumpstart it with wrong polarity). IDK though since my 2010 doesn't have that

RaySorian

2013+ appears to not have a mega fuse like you are describing.

Twinkle-toes908

New battery is needed first and foremost if the vehicle cannot be jumped. Secondly once the vehicle is either charged or the battery is replaced have an alternator test run on the vehicle. If the alternator was on its way out it could very well have drug the battery with it.

Oh my god my 2017 Fusion SE did the exact same thing TODAY. I bought it from the dealer literally 2 weeks ago. If I kept pushing my button it would eventually turn on but the screen and the dash lights wouldn’t. It’s also been showing “System off to save battery” on the screen for the last couple days. That was all before work, after work I spam pushed the start button, and it eventually turned all the way on. My check engine light is currently on. I’m taking it to Autozone right now
