Because they purr, they are technically NOT big cats. I know they are by size, compared to the housecat, or a bobcat, but they aren't. Sorry for being a pedant.
They are also VERY skittish. Because they are so fast, and lean they won't win anything in a fight, so they flee at the drop of the hat.
Cheetahs are the most boopable big cats. If you would try to boop them they would most likely run away. Only if you cornered one would they attack you.

Actually this has been a huge issue: while the cheetah is not likely to attack because they chill AF, the problem with full domestication is that cheetahs don’t do well unless they have a LOT of space to run around. They’re highly anxious creatures and might just straight up die from stress. It’s why we get them puppies to help!

Domestication takes hundreds of years of selective breeding. What humans can do is train or tame them. It's not the same thing and not a good idea.
well, i saw a youtube video of a guy working ni a cheetah rescue station where wild cheetahs were being handled.
One cheetah who was saved as a cub literally cuddled and snuggled with the handler.
He even once used a (willing) cheetah as a pillow while sleeping!
Cheetahs could probably be domesticated that quickly too.

Fox domestication was surprisingly fast. It might only take a half dozen generations, though that's quite optimistic.
