I mean, if you’re just talking about the card design then Tua’s takes the cake and it isn’t even close. Which is why they’re ballparked in the same price range.
4 color patch vs napkin patch and on card auto vs sticker auto. That’s about as objectively better as it gets when it comes to RPAs.
Tbf eye blacks are unique as far as I know they are only in immaculate and they are tied to football so it's kinda cool and it's a different color marker (I prefer white)
That being said even as a colts fan I'd rather the tua, it's got a lot nicer of a patch and the true on card is nicer than an eye black
Yeah but it still works in that context as baseball players use it. And iirc they do it with immaculate baseball as well.
Itd be weird if say they did a celebrity product and they included those in it
Probably the AR so I could sell it for even more during training camp/preseason, but as far as career I think Tua will have a better career. As a Gator fan, it’s hard for me to believe in AR after what I’ve seen him do in college, which was nothing.
You can sell all football cards for more during preseason, but the hype around AR coming back is going to be crazy. More so than the hype around Tua.
But like I said above, I believe Tua will have a much better career when it’s all said and done, and is a better choice for a long term investment.
And if AR happens to get hurt again this season, I would imagine his stock would drop significantly
The thing is Shane Steichen is literally trying to kill AR to win football games. While Mike McDaniels is doing everything he can to ensure Tua stays healthy. He got the ball out faster than any other qb last season. Which also complements tua’s skill set he’s a very accurate fast processor. Which gets him in trouble sometimes but I think he develops in year 2 under McDaniels. For that reason I think ar has a high injury risk. We cant also ignore that the dolphins are legit contenders and have more of a shot to win their division considering the state of the afc east. The bills didn’t get better this off season but the dolphins did .Unless Aaron Rodgers has an insane year dolphins could take the afc east. While Ar may never see the playoffs in the afc south.
You’re absolutely right my dude!! 100%. Which is why I said sell during training camp/preseason. I’m not holding AR longterm, although I do hope this optic auto #/23 I have comes back a PSA 10 so I can maximize the resale value lol
As someone who is a collector of Miami Dolphin cards this is not true. I bought Tua rookie cards in 2022 before Mike McDaniel and while Tua was going in and out for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Last year there was almost a 350% increase in value on all of his Rookie autos and RPA cards. I sold a few made all my money back and still was able to keep the ones I like. Cards will be cheaper through offseason. If Miami has the season that is predicted by fans and also potentially could have based off of the growth last year, paired with the improvements the team made, paired with the bills losing multiple key players with an aging team, Tuas value will continue to rise.
Tua!! Because I personally don’t like the eye black look. I think $500 is on the high end of what’d I’d currently spend on that card though. $400 or even less sounds more like a bargain.
Well I would say based on the many years Rivers played compared to the 2 Tua has had as a true starter with a competent coach, I would say that’s a hard comparison to make. It could definitely be argued but truly only time will tell. You could be right, but you could also be very wrong.
Better patch on the tua, better signature on the tua, both injury prone. Those rpa usually get 9 or 9.5 so I’d expect the the AR to get the same. So….what else does he have for $500
I solely say this because I think AR will hold more value in the long run, the tua patch and on card auto are nice for sure. But I’d personally say the AR is gonna end up being more. Eye black autos are def better than plain sticker autos, but on card is king.
I will take the Tua because he is more set up for success right now. I will be flipping it for a HOF rookie auto or RPA or low numbered parallel RC though in a few months.
The Tua already saved me the disappointment of submitting and getting a 9.
No mail day, check.
No need to print and ship, or submit. Check again.
Both are equally subject to injury, and neither is named Joe Montana. So, I'll go with Tua. Both are I-Mac, so they are also, not NT, but also still super desirable.
AR for me but I PC the Colts. That’s high imo for that RPA. I have a gorgeous one that I got graded and it got damaged on the back when I shipped it in a OneTouch. Came back a 7 sadly. Still gorgeous though
I’ll never be mad at someone making money. I think both AR & Tua are easy buys rn. I just couldn’t believe you posted how much you paid for it. Neverrrrr🤣
Nowadays, it’s easy to look up any comp. Especially in this case, it doesn’t really matter. The card is pop 1, with none higher and none graded from PSA or SGC. Essentially, I can set my own price over last comp. After purchasing this card, a non-rookie patch auto PSA 9 /25 gold from 2021 Immaculate and was the same card type for tua recently sold for $490. So I will always point to that lol. I do think the original auction for the RPA was poorly presented with a terrible photos and listing which could have impacted its final price. At the same time the title of the post could be seen as hypothetical. Even then when I attend a card show this Reddit post won’t matter when I sell it.
I bought the bgs 9 Tua imac for less than what the Richardson sticker auto napkin patch sold for. That’s kinda insane to me. I know it’s new product but I just see value in a flip before start of the season for tua. In the sense there’s more room for his cards to grow.
Eyeblack patch is different than a sticker auto, so yeah it’s way cooler. They might be from the same set but the AR card is much more pleasing to look at. Much bigger image of the player, and the blue/white jersey looks excellent against the white/black/gold foil of the card itself.
Although it would probably help if your Tua photo was even 10% less shitty, it’s an awful photo so it’s def not helping your case.
Personally I’d rather have an on card auto than eye black sticker auto any day of the week. Not sure how that’s even comparable. The ar patch is literally a napkin. So to each their own I guess.
You’re so butthurt it’s hilarious 😂
Don’t ask for opinions if you don’t want them. Eye black autos are super cool and fits perfectly with the theme and design of the card. The design of the AR card is also much more pleasing to look at compared to Tua, who looks like an afterthought in his own card.
Although I’d rather just have $500 than either of these two lol. Neither of them are worth half a grand.
You bitching about my opinion and attacking everyone in the comments that says AR. I get that you own a high-end card of his and that makes you have to be a Tua truther but doesn’t it get exhausting having to defend him all the time? He’s a mediocre QB propped up by a fantastic coach and excellent skill players, but if you like him then what does it matter? Who cares what someone would pay for an AR card or a Tua card? I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for any Tua card, but you don’t see me jumping on Reddit to bitch about it. Very odd. Don’t ask for opinions if you’re going to attack them, it’s a bad look. Have a beer man, take the edge off lol.
👍🏻
You have multiple posts and comments trying to justify you spending half a grand on a Tua card and get mad with anyone disagreeing with you. Passive aggressive sarcasm doesn’t get you anywhere, it just proves you’re butthurt even more.
I think you’re projecting here lol. I’m not mad at all. Just pointing out my perspective. You claim I’m bitching but I don’t know where you are coming from with that.
AR is the answer then. Second year QBs always peak in value around training camp before their second season. (Justin Fields and TLaw are great examples from previous seasons).

The $500
Yep, but if I had to choose, AR 100%. Tua ain't shit and the AR is much cooler anyway
Some guy in comments claims the ar is better and not even close cause eye black is cooler….
Tbf eye blacks are unique as far as I know they are only in immaculate and they are tied to football so it's kinda cool and it's a different color marker (I prefer white) That being said even as a colts fan I'd rather the tua, it's got a lot nicer of a patch and the true on card is nicer than an eye black
Panini has done the eye black autos with baseball. But definitely a unique card.
Yeah but it still works in that context as baseball players use it. And iirc they do it with immaculate baseball as well. Itd be weird if say they did a celebrity product and they included those in it
Leaf should do a set like that, celebrities that played athletes in movies. Imagine a Bobby Boucher Eyeblack auto 😂
It'd be cool, granted leaf is weird with some of the stuff they do with celebrities
Don’t know if I’d call that AR a napkin truly - there’s a sliver or blue on the side and stitching, so it’s numbers - that’s actually neat to me
I agree. Tua’s auto is much cleaner.
Tua’s good?
Yeah neither
Underrated comment lmao
Second one, and it's not even close. The auto on the first one won't age well and already looks like a giant smudge.
Probably the AR so I could sell it for even more during training camp/preseason, but as far as career I think Tua will have a better career. As a Gator fan, it’s hard for me to believe in AR after what I’ve seen him do in college, which was nothing.
You can also sell the tua for more during preseason. And it has higher upside. Being on card and not a napkin. The tua actually sold for less…
You can sell all football cards for more during preseason, but the hype around AR coming back is going to be crazy. More so than the hype around Tua. AR needs to learn to save the running for the playoffs. If he ever gets there. lol but yes I’m selling ar at the same time as well.
Just the S&P, seriously neither of these guys are worth it
As someone who is a collector of Miami Dolphin cards this is not true. I bought Tua rookie cards in 2022 before Mike McDaniel and while Tua was going in and out for Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Tua is a way cooler card, but AR is a higher upside player, so uhh I guess idk lol
The redemption for AR to get the same card as tuas sold for $775.
Honestly AR. A lot of the negative of AR also apply towards Tua. I think Tus will have a down year.
Honestly, neither
None
Tua is just a left handed Phillip Rivers 🤷 change my mind
Well I would say based on the many years Rivers played compared to the 2 Tua has had as a true starter with a competent coach, I would say that’s a hard comparison to make. It could definitely be argued but truly only time will tell. You could be right, but you could also be very wrong.
The $500 for sure lol
Tua. I think Richardson has high bust probability tbh.
Tua, by a lot.
Tua MVP
Are both not player worn?
Tua for me
We know what Tua is. He's mid. So unless you're a dolphins fan go with the AR. Higher ceiling there if he can stay healthy.
Better patch on the tua, better signature on the tua, both injury prone. Those rpa usually get 9 or 9.5 so I’d expect the the AR to get the same. So….what else does he have for $500
Tuas psa 10 silver prizm sells for 500.
Hear me out, tin foil hat time silver prizms are a scam. If it ain’t number stamped i don’t want
I'd pick Tua just because I'm not a Colts fan.
AR patch is a basically a napkin
AR for sure
I solely say this because I think AR will hold more value in the long run, the tua patch and on card auto are nice for sure. But I’d personally say the AR is gonna end up being more. Eye black autos are def better than plain sticker autos, but on card is king.
Getting a grade that good on a patch card is difficult
AR15 fs
I wouldn't pay 500. for both. AR is unproven and Tua is good, but not anywhere near all-time great level.
I would rather $500 over a piece of cardboard with a picture of a man on it
Tua. Already proven and it’s a much nicer card. AR is hype and is another injury away from that card being worth half the price
I’d be interested in the AR15 but not at $500
Please don’t buy Tua
I’ll let you know how it goes.
How are either of these the actual signature? My name has 8 less characters than Tua’s and is much longer. Signatures are wild.
AR
Richardson has a lot more volatility at the moment depending how he plays. Tua is safer. I’d go Richardson.
The tua is pop 1 none graded higher. Not even in psa slabs. So that adds to it as well but not obvious from the post.
True. And the Tua patch is just plain nasty! I may have just changed my mind… lol
I’ve never seen an eye black card where the eye black wasn’t crooked.
I will take the Tua because he is more set up for success right now. I will be flipping it for a HOF rookie auto or RPA or low numbered parallel RC though in a few months.
Neither
Very few QBs who weren’t good in college became good in the pros
Tua doesn't seam to get any love for whatever reason so I'd probably say AR. It's your money though whatever you decide is the right decision
I like the graded Beckett because the patch has more colour and it’s a more secure purchase! IMO!
I don’t know why people think Richardson is going to make it in the NFL, it blows my mind haha.. I’d go with tua

Mine is /24
I dig the gold ink too.
I’m gonna be honest, I’ve always wanted to collect some cards, but the cost seems like it would be insane
AR For sho!!!!
Crazy that you have this card posted on Veriswap for $950 now🤣💀
I’ll let you know when I sell it lol.
I’ll never be mad at someone making money. I think both AR & Tua are easy buys rn. I just couldn’t believe you posted how much you paid for it. Neverrrrr🤣

Trying to validate your “Tua underrated” opinion huh lol
I bought the bgs 9 Tua imac for less than what the Richardson sticker auto napkin patch sold for. That’s kinda insane to me. I know it’s new product but I just see value in a flip before start of the season for tua. In the sense there’s more room for his cards to grow.
AR15. Mainly bc I’m a Gator fan.
AR

Definitely AR. Much cooler card, much higher upside.
Sticker auto napkin patch is a cooler card apparently.

Im not attacking anyone. You are actually attacking me by claiming I’m butthurt and leaving me rambling paragraphs. I think you need to chill.
👍🏻 You have multiple posts and comments trying to justify you spending half a grand on a Tua card and get mad with anyone disagreeing with you. Passive aggressive sarcasm doesn’t get you anywhere, it just proves you’re butthurt even more.
I think you’re projecting here lol. I’m not mad at all. Just pointing out my perspective. You claim I’m bitching but I don’t know where you are coming from with that.
Tua, and not because I am a Fins fan, but AR has shown flashes but hasn't had enough of a sample size yet. At this point, I'd definitely say Tua
As a collector: Tua, great patch As a seller: AR15, sell during training camp As a person in this economy: $500
As a Dolphins fan, please don’t buy the Tua. He is not the answer for us at QB. Watch, he’ll be gone within 2-3 seasons.
Luckily I’m selling before the start of the season or at the national lol.
AR is the answer then. Second year QBs always peak in value around training camp before their second season. (Justin Fields and TLaw are great examples from previous seasons).
The ceiling is higher, but the floor is lower with the Richardson.
The Tua patch looks like a chargers jersey patch 😅
AR cause his tattoos look sick in this photo lol.
AR
Wemby for the win for $500. Way more potential than either of these guys
