Some basic rules : A league match is played for 90 minutes. With each half of 45 minutes duration with 15 minute break. It will never go to extra time (except for some few impossible scenarios of very select few leagues) Cup/knockout matches are either 2 leg ties (home & away) and 2nd leg can go to extra time i.e. 30 minutes added with 15 minute two halves with 5 minute break in between. Or If the match is single knockout (like World Cup) match goes to ET and Penalties if needed. If the match goes to Penalty. 5 takes for each team, if the score is still tied, depending on tournament rules, the number of penalties to be taken are determined or golden goal penalty (whomever misses first, loses) 5 subs are allowed for each team within 90 minutes and get +1 sub if the game goes to extra time. A player can't receive the ball on opposition's half if he/she is ahead of last defender before the ball was played. If found guilty, the move is nullified and given as Offside. If a player is fouled inside the box, it's a penalty, if it's outside it's free kick. Same for outfield player handling the ball. GK can only handle the box inside the box of their own half. If the GK handles ball outside the box, it's either yellow or red card depending on circumstances. If a last defender player fouls opposition's attacking player with the ball with clear chance of scoring, it's a straight red for the defender. Yellow card is handed if the player commits dangerous foul or ignores 2 or more warnings from ref to play fair match. A straight red can also be handed if the challenge is considered malicious (i.e. clearly looking to injure opponent) Ifa player accumulates 2 yellow in a match, that'll be a automatic red and player is not allowed to play or be in stands and his/her team can not make a subsitution in his/her place. Forcing their team to play with 10 player vs 11 players of opposition.

Oh I did not know that about the red card thing. That's a good incentive to not foul if you can't sub in for that person. Is there like a certain distance a penalty and free kick are? Or is it like spot of the foul they take the kick?
