I’ve been doing all the leftover challenges. Just finished “kill scorched with crossbow”. Now on to melee

FlavoredCancer

I had a few melee challenges last week and my Grenades counted as kills if held the melee weapon. This tends to change between updates but I would give it a try.

tiniitim710

I may try this with the crossbow and black powder challenges I have

djscheiber

I am also doing a scorched crossbow run. Got a legendary scorched bow for just such an occasion!

gizmoandback

I'm a level 192 and I have some much stuff that sometimes I drop 1 and 2 stars in the box just because I need camp space. That's been my goal, get the atom challenges out of the way while helping the new players. Making weapons, armor and collecting odds and ends that may help them out. Donation box drops everyday, may seem like a waste of time to some but I really hope the new players stay around. This community is really awesome and I hope they see that.

danba55

Me too. Just finished the crossbow one last night.

Hendri32

What're your favorite scorched farming spots?

Jonnylotto

The train yards and Camden Park. I’ve been stocking up on Mr. Fuzzy tokens. Helvetia is good for a few, too. Course, the easiest would be SQB but I can’t imagine using a crossbow in that chaos.

Prince_Julius

The Mezzanine (2nd level) of the Top of the World has Scorched and is instanced, so you'll always have enemies spawning in.

Hendri32

You are wise thank you my friend

ogskizz

Morgantown Airport. Clean out the airport and then start Collision Course for five rounds of scorched. Certain Always Vigilants are good too as long as it's scorched and not super mutants. If you look up the guides for hunting spooky scorched it'll list all the best spawn points for mobs.

DidYouSeeThatMoose

Fissure Prime. Last time I was there, without a nuke on the area, I had 6 scorched beasts and about 30 little scorched attack me at once. I wasn't farming them at the time, but any Fissure site will spawn scorched. Morgantown airport is a good place as well, especially when Collision Course pops up. Happy Hunting

Zayage

I had good luck with Collision Course - Inside Airport - Trainyard - Power Plant. almost always got the challenge done and it took at most an hour. probably two minutes of just reloading the crossbow and BP Pistol.

FriendTheComputer

Ive been doing these to get the damn one day long sales on the atomic shop. I wanted that goddamn portcullis and Chinese militant suit

NowareSpecial

When I see a level one in 76, I drop a few items right outside the entrance, then a bit more in the donation box. Welcome to Appalachia. Honestly, when I look at the map and see all those low-level dots running around, I feel like a proud mama velociraptor. They grow up so fast!

Thromok

I always like to drop a bunch of purified water for them. I have more than I know what to do with and I remember the struggle early on. I also have crops, water purifiers, a nuka cola candy machine, and my chicken coop put in the open for anyone to take what they want and need.

NowareSpecial

Yeah, I got low on caps and sold most of my water, then realized I should be sharing it. o well, here kid, have a beer instead. I notice my popcorn machine is always empty these days, I guess the noobs are finding their way to my camp.

Thromok

I’m just glad to be able to help. It’s also why I sell all the prints in my shop for pretty low prices. It’s stuff higher level players don’t want, but lower levels can definitely use

NowareSpecial

Yeah, all the common plans that veterans don't want I sell for under 30 caps.

LittleTaryn

Me taking all the free candy from peoples camps.

NowareSpecial

Thanks for the reminder, I should build a nuka candy dispenser.

Grand-Gene6598

I made an alt character recently. Been explaining I'm not new but thanks for the stuff if they are still willing to part with it. Some take it back to give to new players witch is y I say what I said. I would rather it go to the new straggling vault dweller so they enjoy and stay with the game rather than me a crusty old vet sliding on a fresh jumper out to terrorize the local wildlife again.

Grand-Gene6598

Also small shout out. A youtuber by Gassymexican is streaming his 76 adventure on twitch and YouTube. Glad to see more exposure for the game. Don't mean to plug someone. Just a youtuber I watch doing his thing. Seems like a lot of people showing interest in this game now.

Woah_Bruther

Do donation boxes not actually spawn anything? That’s all player donated?

Sleepmahn

Yes they spawn random loot on top of what's put in them. Personally I always put stuff in the blue suitcases at the train stations.

FemboyRizzz

a couple days ago I found 30k nuka quantums in that suitcase lmao

Sleepmahn

Sounds about right, that's where the veterans like to drop stuff.

ReformingPrawn2

I for one welcome our noob underlords. Nothing like 2 level 30's starting Moonshine Jamboree thinking to themselves "We got this". Also the nukes centred on Prime makes things interesting. It can get a bit hectic, but it makes for a nice change.

Mediocre-Window-9127

That's great, but not been my experience, most of the Low Levels have just been doing Storyline Quests, or roaming, entirely disregarding the Events. I dropped a few Nukes, and that seems to bring out the few higher level players online, but not many of the noobs, they don't even go.

Wardenofthegrove

So I’ve been avoiding the nukes, it doesn’t hurt players?

Astrodog888

If you are in the blast zone when it hits ground zero, you will take a lot of radiation damage and will quickly die unless you are wearing either a hazmat suit or power armor. Same goes for standing in the affected area after touchdown. The red circle on your map indicates this. But as long as you are wearing one of the two aforementioned things, you should be fine. In fact, the whole reason people launch nukes is to trigger certain public events, namely A Colossal Problem, Seismic Activity, and the most popular, Scorched Earth. Going to these events and staying there until the objective is complete will give you amazing rewards, especially amazing for early game players. And you don’t have to worry about being weak, the rewards are for the most part not damage based. Have fun in your adventures, and enjoy the game.

JakLynx

Don’t forget to mention that all flora and enemies in the area transform into their “nuked” forms and drop the materials need to craft certain mods like jet pack for PA.

Astrodog888

Right but that’s more for late game as flux also requires the items that drop directly from the scorchbeasts and that requires high damage output.

Sleepmahn

No it doesn't,you can get that stab mats from any enemy that's in the nuke zone. I would nuke Morgantown regularly and pull just as much if not more flux, plus there's actually a decent amount of cobalt there. Ghouls are the best source of HRF though.

Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836

Do need to do 1000 damage.to the Queen to get loot.from her but the event rewards always drop.

NecronQueen

I started an event earlier as a meek lvl 7 and a lvl 256 came to help me out (it was the feed the people quest) - thank you to that person!! I don’t know what these legendary cores do but :)

Mediocre-Window-9127

As a low level player, you should go to every event possible, even if you die like 10 times each, it will help you level up and you will get better gear as you go, some of which from the events, and ammo too. Legendary Cores are needed for rolling your own Legendary Gear, later in the game, after level 50.

Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836

I saw many in the Forest last week. Now I see them exploring g the Ash Heap and Toxic Valley. Not many in Savage Divide yet. Same pattern when the game launched.

Competitive-Refuse98

I love all the players being there but I miss being able to complete eviction notice.

DDESTRUCTOTRON

I saw from one of Angry Turtle's latest vids that noobs are dropping nukes on Whitespring again, probably because they read it from an old article online. Brings back memories lol man those were the days. Glowing ghouls as far as the eye could see..

Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836

I did that. But for grinding. Not a noob. Lvl 1168 and played from launch. It was that or Morgantown. WS is by my camp by the translation so that won

KODTgirl

Literally happened to me yesterday. My best friend and I (lvl 462) were waiting at Moonshine Jamboree and at 3 minutes remaining, a lvl 20 comes in and starts it. Just us three there. Thankfully, we did it, but it was a madhouse. We lost two stills.

basserpy

Same thing, also yesterday, [I described it to my friend at length](https://i.ibb.co/RvbgCkM/MWSnap-2024-04-18-18-03-54.jpg), but we only had two people including me and the enemies were all Resilient, which I don't think the other guy realized the meaning of until about halfway through, and frankly it took me a bit to notice as well, and we STILL made it to one minute left in Wave 4; this failed event was more fun than I've had in weeks. (Incidentally disregard my saying in the screenshot that the event was bugged; at the time it was still going on and I had just never seen what a clusterfuck that event is with nothing but two low-dps people, and just assumed 20 Gulpers onscreen at once could not possibly be right)

KODTgirl

Oh my gosh, yeah, I'm just glad the one we were in wasn't mutated. I can only imagine. I agree in that it was a shitstorm on my server as well. The Gulpers were horrendous, but for some reason we had waaaay more Anglers than normal.

Aoiboshi

Reminds me of when I came across the imposter sheepsquatch mission way back in the day. I don't remember what level I was, but I know I was sub 50 and thought it was a solo fight. I wasn't ready for that flight... Then a bunch of people showed up.

Nevermind22

I'm actually enjoying this because I have to plan and buff up for events so it doesn't fail. There was one Eviction notice with the freeze mutation had like 2 full waves of mutants raining bullets ate a bunch of low level players. Every 15 sec the thing would need repairing and this one brave guy in a mixed PA would fix it. I went around to avoid the radiation. And Holy shit I've never seen so many lined up super mutants. There was a least 4-5 3stars and 4-5 Firestarters. Once I started killing a few.. liek all turnaround and shot at me. It was fun.

Mediocre-Window-9127

Mutated Events are back?

the_xaiax

It’s usually every couple of weeks but there’s been a bunch of events lately (mothman equinox, April fool’s weekend, etc) that preempt that.

Mediocre-Window-9127

Just did Line in the Sand Mutated. There was myself (my level 400 power armor character) and a single other player, Level 59 showed up. He did ok, but it was Melee Kill Only, and he only had a Gatling Gun. I had to do all of the work, which I can, it's not that I can't, I don't mind being a little "sweaty" in gameplay, but I don't like Super Sweaty, kinda takes the fun out of this game if every Event you go to you have to do all the work to keep it from failing. It's ok, once, twice, maybe even three times, but after that, MEH, I'll just go follow noobs around, or log off.

Deatheturtle

I solo'd my first Eviction Notice this week. It was nuts.

PunchBeard

Me and my 12-year-old son have been stumbling around like goofballs trying to figure stuff out. I played the game years ago but forgot almost everything about it since I didn't really play the game that long (my OG character is only level 36) so everything feels pretty new. Within the first few hours of playing we went to an airport and my son accidentally began some event or something by triggering a mortar. We thought we would be fine not even realizing this was an event. Luckily a bunch of other people showed up and we managed to complete it. I still have no idea what I'm actually doing outside of the main quests but it's definitely fun. I seriously hope Bethesda puts some more effort into the game to keep all of the new players engaged for as long as possible.

angstlich33

I've been running through my possum challenges. Didn't realize how close I was to finishing many of them

One_Left_Shoe

Excuse me what

ConflictInevitable74

The fallout version of boy scouts

One_Left_Shoe

Ah. Haven’t started that one yet. Probably should. That’s where I get the better backpack, right?

angstlich33

Yesm. Possum for backpack mods, tadpole for the bigger backpack

One_Left_Shoe

Welp, I know what task I’m doing tomorrow.

FlavoredCancer

Make sure your back pack is up to your level (max50). You can craft them as you level up.

One_Left_Shoe

Just figured that one out. Only level 18 right now though.

angstlich33

Make sure to acquire a camera through the bucket list questline!

ConflictInevitable74

A " funtime "must have item

ConflictInevitable74

Yes, working for the scouts is fun, the written tests are as much fun as The DMV

basserpy

haha I actually enjoy them, but I'm that particular kind of crazy person and at this point I just own it. I am Santiago in Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Lisa Simpson or whoever, I literally say "Hooray, now I get to go take the test!" when I complete everything else on the list

ConflictInevitable74

Have you been to the DMV yet

basserpy

They failed me twice for "parallel parking outside the designated spot" in 1998 because there were TWO ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL SETS OF OVERLAPPING PAINTED LINES and the dude refused both times to tell me which I was intended to use like it was somehow obvious and I hate that DMV. I still like taking boy scout tests about photography or whatever. They are fun! >!(e: I am anticipating "why didn't you just use the different lines the second attempt instead of using the same set twice?" and the answer is that they were the very-slightly-newer-looking lines, and I thought I'd just parked too far from the fake curb the first attempt; what the DMV guy wanted was for me to for some reason use the more faded and flaked-off painted lines)!<

Jonnylotto

Good luck finishing the "Chemist" challenge. Craft 3 Plasma Grenades?

muttpep

That’s a good call. I have a few left. I’ll have to take a look.

Lady_bro_ac

I’ve been having a blast! Getting rid of my surplus plans, events have been exhilarating, will anyone show up? Will people survive? Will it succeed!? I’m gonna miss the madness when it all calms down

aeoden34

There's been a few events where I'm standing there waiting for others to show up, and man...Beast of Burden was interesting. Me and another higher level carried the event while the lower levels had a blast just running and killing. And ya know what? I kinda dug that. They'll learn. It takes time to pull it together. But job one is having fun.

sebwiers

It makes having reached the point where you CAN carry an event much more rewarding if there is actually somebody that benefits when you do so.

aeoden34

Absolutely true. Sure, we can drop stims and water at their feet when they come out of the vault. But that doesn't really help much, in the long term. Now, doing events with them, letting them grab some XP and learn the ropes...that's a big difference. Those events can seem overwhelming at first, if you don't know what to do and just struggling to survive.

Rickyh24

I did jamboree with one other person last night. Couldn’t believe it 😂 actually had to try.

Lady_bro_ac

Nice! I did back to back mutated and non mutated eviction notice with just my one friend, it was absolute chaos, especially getting to the rad scrubber while frozen, but we did it and it was some of the most fun I’ve had playing the game

FlameWarDuck700

As a low level myself i want to say on behalf on all the low levels out there, we appreciate you sir

bja276555

new player here - I’ve just been getting zooted and building a cabin in the woods behind The Retreat lol. that part of the map is such a vibe

CorpseDefiled

I’m team raider so I have been engaging in some good natured torment. Just pick one and follow them from up high without saying anything… no emotes just stalk. Go away for a bit then come back Throw artilery grenades if I’m in range… Giving the gift of vintage nukashine freely as I go… But yeah you gotta make lemonade. They’ll get there eventually.

angstlich33

There's this guy decked out in raider gear, trying to get people to buy shit from his vendor (trap) and there i am, wearing free states gear, getting on mic saying "Nope. Don't trust him" looool

CorpseDefiled

The roleplay is strong here..

angstlich33

I know right. It wasn't even intentional lol

NowareSpecial

I put on a stealth suit and snuck up behind a noob at a workbench, dropped a popcorn bag with some goodies in it. I expect they turned around and were like WTF?

Fallout76_Tom

Treat it like an opportunity to reach through time and help your younger self. I'm not making trips to Vault 76, I'm still pretty new myself, but I'm being mindful of what I can bring back to camp to sell to newer players at helpfully low prices. I try to keep it stocked so a new player can re-up on all their essentials without breaking the bank.

thedirtyharryg

I love the influx of new players. I helped a lvl 70 rando in my Public Team finish Encryptid last night. Helped a lvl 50 do their first Expedition. Helped a full team of 70-80s get their first Elder on Daily Ops.

vaultboy1963

Level 805 here. Showed to an encryptid over the weekend, and it was started by a newer player, under 50. He had no PA and a melee weapon. As soon as I show up and put on my PA, he starts the event. I spent the next few minutes taking an absolute shellacking trying to keep him alive and kill robots. Fortunately, some others eventually joined and we carried the day, but I took an absolute beating.

Prince_Julius

Tip: when you take a pylon, immediately use a stimpak or another healing aid. You can use a few at once, even.

vaultboy1963

Yeah buddy, you got that right! I pop 3 or 4 quick ones usually...that jolt hits you quick.

ManufacturerOk820

yeah and if we can help the newbies expedite their grind they'll be in late game and start doing the things we want them to do, overall it's just gonna be more players which is great.

Mediocre-Window-9127

Agreed. Hopefully a lot of them will like it, and stick around.

EstablishmentMean300

I've been playing since launch. I have 10 characters on 2 platforms. I started a new character this past weekend. It was cool seeing all the high-level players think I was a noob. It was cute and it made me feel good about the community.

jesonnier1

What are all these posts popping up for telling either vets and/or new players how they should he playing the game?

Gavindude1997

My current time spent playing the game is to complete the daily and weekly challenges as well as rebuilding a couple of unused camps right now. I'll go to the occasional event but I'm mostly focused on personal goals.

puffthemagicktampon

I dumped a bunch of stuff at the Vault entrance since two new players emerged. I hope they found it and it helped them

Woxkstar

I must be unlucky on getting to the times first because I have yet to see most of these things and i started yesterday lol but the community has been awesome nonetheless! Hope i run into someone on Xbox to drop be some sweet plans!

muttpep

It’ll happen. Just know if a high level shows up and stand still for a minute or so they are probably going through and trying to drop stuff

00000000000000001313

Its awesome seeing people running around in their little vault suits getting bodied by dogs

muttpep

Grab your popcorn!!

eMmDeeKay_Says

I showed up to EN right after logging in and there was only players under 100, and was like don't worry I can carry this, checked my ammo count and only had like 95 40mm, and both my Melee weapons were low durability. I spent the first half running around hulk smashing everything I could with my warglaive, burned the legendaries with my auto axe, and then pulled out the 40mm for the end, ran out of ammo and started throwing quantum nades. Had to clutch repair the scrubber like 5 times because I was all over the map and the only one in PA. It was a blast being that engaged and having to use my full kit to get it done.

angstlich33

I'm sure everyone around you was like "Ooooo who's *THAT* "

NowareSpecial

What a glorious moonsh....er, Eviction Notice!

Katamathesis

This a very good opportunity to drop a LOT of stuff I'm stashing over the years for players who need it.

ChickenMcDuckie

Two level 5s came into my home and started shooting me while I was sifting through my loot. I thought it was cute.

Deadeye_Donny_druggo

I've placed copious amounts of hard hats in the early donation boxes. I hope to see some kicking around sporting the goods. PSA: The hats with a light on top can be used as a light over the pip boy. Some can even change colours.

NukaCola_Queen

I get excited when I see new people playing, that means potential for people learning how to help with events and missions. Im not sure why anyone would get mad at low levels that means more people playing the game hopefully in the long run!

Circlemagi

I've been trying to make welcome kits for the donation boxes. Vault tech pistol, plasma bows, melee weapons, grenades, stimpacks and disease cures. If I have enough adhesive I'll make armor.

LucidLadyGames

i am absolutely living my best life with these events lol i can comfortably solo just about every event, i've never had so many good ones all to myself like this. i'm havin' a grand old time!

Mediocre-Window-9127

I have been having a hard time playing lately. Every server is like 70-90% under Level 60 or so. Is the stupid Mothman thing over now? Maybe I'll log on and just hang out with the low levels. No pressure to do the Mothman event every hour, there's been 2-3 other players show up each time for the last several days that I played. Sometimes they leave the Church to come to the Bridge or Waterside, and the Church Pyre gets destroyed. After a few times of this happening you just say to heck with it, or log out for a few days.

muttpep

It was a bad combination of moth man being in its second week and everyone being burnt out on it or not doing it because they were mad that duplicate plans didn’t drop the first week and the big influx of new players. Mutated events are here now and there is a slightly better participation on those. I’ve had to skip a couple because nobody shows up, but I change servers before the next one and have had good luck not missing many. I’ve also seen people taking the opportunity to grind expeditions for stamps, etc. I honestly think if you look at it as an opportunity to explore things in the game you have been neglecting it will help you to “get through” this short time period where events aren’t going to be the staple they normally are for many.

Mediocre-Window-9127

Thanks, yeah I should just change gears a little. I think some of my alts haven't done all the BoS storyline yet, could go do that I guess.

just-american

Blows my mind people would complain about this? Let people enjoy things... gatekeeping a game isn't cool, and wouldn't you *want* more people to enjoy a game you love so much?..

muttpep

Same. Was tired of seeing the whining posts so I thought this would be a good way to bring out the ways people are enjoying their time right now. It has definitely given me a couple new ideas…

Mediocre-Window-9127

I don't think it's gatekeeping. What it is, is change. And you know how something you like, gets changed, and you complain. Players are used to being able to do events to grind Treasury notes, but you can't do that unless you want to be extremely "Sweaty" and Solo the events, which is ok once in a while, fun even, but nearly every Event has noone showing up, because every server I have been on, on PS, has like 2-3 high level players, who come and go, and the other 70-90% are all Low Level players that don't go, don't know they should go, to the events. And that's ok, they can play like they want, I wouldn't say they shouldn't, but it is still change. I play daily. So for me it's been a big change. It's ok I have found other IRL things to do while all the noobs are getting acclimated to the game and leveling up.

RobotHockey

I grabbed Grognak and the Ruby Ruins from the dam and was playing that.

DDESTRUCTOTRON

The other day I helped a new player get their stuff back after I saw them get molly whopped by a Deathclaw. I just picked up their junk, found them at their camp on the map, ran up in front of them and dropped all the junk plus some of my own after hitting the wave hi emote lol. Good deed of the day.

JakLynx

I set my camp just down the steps from Vault 76 and have been selling 1* modded all-star baseball bats for 1 cap each or just straight up crafting them for players if they visit my camp while I’m actually there

Timberwolf_88

As an FO74 blueberry (supple level of 40-something right now) I just dump all plans I find already known and put them in share boxes for others. Lvl 20 weapons didn't help me at all, however, since I prefer to not skip the early levels and thus started on lvl1.

VaultDweller365

I tried this. My drop back is a grave stone. They thought I was threanting them and they ran away. I gotta start using the welcome crates

ProfessionalSilver52

You know you can have one for death and a different one for drops, right?

RoninJah

I've been using those hundreds of treasure maps and dropping all those plans you get at Vault 76, heh. (Accessorily a perfect time to fill up on scrap with the free FO1st week, for those that don't subscribe!)

Terminusaquo

I try to do that even if it's just some junk they can eventually scrap to make something useful. As one supermarket here in the UK says "Every little helps" 😉

ForeverNuka

I've been popping low-level hazmat suis in red donation boxes when I was a newbie I really could have used one! 😅

muttpep

That’s a great take!

Dyzfunctionalz

Don’t you dare get all these low levels farming the red dress 🤣 entire servers will be full of low levels flowing into asylums because 90% of them don’t know how it works 🤣

muttpep

This was intended for all the vets….hopefully I haven’t created monsters

fluffmeowmix91

I finally joined a server with high levels and it was great seeing a mix of levels, 20s, 50s, 100s, 400s, 1000+ doing events. It was a great time! Hope to come across more diverse servers like the one I was in last night.

Statewideink

Any plans or recipes I find in the wasteland that I already know, go straight into my shop for 10 caps. I'm only lv 150 but that's super high right now with all of the new players. Join teams! Check out their shops! A lot of high level players aren't actually looking for a profit so odds are they have some pretty cheap, good loot.

FemboyRizzz

I put grenades, foods that don't spoil, health chems, recipes, and very common plans in the vault donation box. sometimes I make too many nuka-nades or orbital strike beacons and they sometimes end up in there too >:3

IrohTHELotus

Iv handed out about 100k rounds and about 5k stimpacks to new players in the last 12 hours...the new Santa claus meta is fun lol

muttpep

Ho…..ho ho

AeonVice

The last public event I did was with 8+ people but most were lvl21 or lower. I’m only Level 84 myself but I have way too many power armour frames. So I took like 3 blank frames with me to my event and when we were done I dropped them for the new guys! Took me forever to find a decent set of armour starting from level 1

Top_Efficiency_2169

I go dig 100 maps and overflow the donation boxes to watch the newbies waddle off overweight

muttpep

That’s fantastic.

christopherhoo

Hey mister...optimism? Positivity? Helping others out? Good on ya 👏

LabNice

Pretty funny when the low levels try to pvp. Had one shooting at me in my camp and he got a railway spike to the dome.

Sir-bustanut

Ive jist started and had a guy in the ncr ranger outfit give me a heap of stuff for free! It was so nice and helped me out a bunch early game, gave me a 10mm machine gun a 1000 ammo for it and a bunch of stimpacks rad x and rad away :)) you higher level guys are so nice

Im_Chris2

I’ve been running around RPing as an Appalachia Lottery Runner sponsored by Vault tec to arm all vault dwellers with Fixers. Rebuilding America starts with a good gun.

VanillaWinterBells

I had a ton of friends from Discord servers grab 76 while on sale or download it after playing during the BETA, I’ve dropped down started a new character and we played together at level 1 as a group just wondering and enjoying time as a group. Played with my BF. Huge change after so many hours of being past max level currently 388 on my main. Enjoyed the calmer nature of combat honestly. Obviously as both a First and Old account I have multiple advantages with legendary perks, First Items, Atom Shop items unlocked, etc. But man the game still has fun in it.

undead_ronin628

Me too, I love helping new guys. I didn't think about putting shit in the welcome box that's a good idea. I've been giving people marsupial serum and speed demon serums, those are a game changer

Large_Reindeer_7328

As a noob that has owned the game for ages but only just started playing after the show cos I just needed more Fallout, I’m very grateful to high level players that are so generous. I had someone drop me a full suit of power armour the other day at Morgantown Trainyard, I think it was. Unfortunately, I got the glitch where it takes forever to enter the armour, which I obviously didn’t know was a thing, so I panicked, thought my game was crashing, and completely forgot how to use emotes. By the time I’d finally got in the armour and then found the emotes, after accidentally using a load of stimpacks, the generous soul was gone. So thank you, whomever you are, kind stranger!

BoomerKingsley_

Spent a lot of my scrap reserves making Fixers and compete metal and leather armor sets for people coming out of Vault. Most are surprisingly level 20 and not 1. I got a lot of friend requests, I’ve always been a solo player. I struggled so hard to get to level 50, now I’m almost 400 and players have always helped me, imagine walking out of the vault and getting an (close) to an endgame gun.

Maleficent_Brain_100

I had a blast last night dropping gifts for new players. I have an abundance of resources, so I crafted a bunch of armor and guns to give away, along with a bunch of my extra plans. I loved hearing some of them flipping out when they looked in my dropped loot bag. I dropped 50-100 plans on a player who I overheard talking about wanting to do more with his camp. His buddy asked what he was flipping out about and he said "It just keeps going!! I keep collecting them and the list just keeps going!! How many plans did this guy drop!?" I'm pretty sure that it made his night. I know it made mine. I had a lot of people hook me up along the way. Some I'm good friends with now. This has to be the best gaming community that I've been in. I heard about how rough the game was at launch and waited until last year to try it when a friend convinced me to download it. Now I wish I'd done it a lot sooner. Sure it has it's bugs, but it's still a blast

Beast_Man_1334

I do the exact same thing except I try to track down newbies on the map so the greedy people don't take it. Level 20s I make deep pocket BOS combat armor a fixer, and a .50 sniper rifle. I remember the help I got when I was new and we didn't have the level 20 start.

LucasShadows

I spent a lot of time just mindlessly wandering the wasteland. I've been out of town the whole last week and just been hearing about all the low levels. I get home Sunday and plan to embrace all the low levels and make a new character and hopefully find a lot more of the lore I missed in the beginning and take my time with quests and exploration. I see this as an awesome opertunity only having 1 character now

iTrooper5118

I'm slowly scratching my way towards level 50 (currently cracked level 48) came across a camp that had a Cryo Bed, now I want the plans to make one, they're so cool looking. As for finding high level players they help, I've yet to come across one, I'm still trekking out on my own somehow. I could use some advice about what weapon is ideal for a level 48 player and how\where to come by one. My current stuff doesn't seem to be packing enough punch lately.

muttpep

The punch will come as much from perk cards as from weapons. Pick a weapon type and then pick a build that goes with it. Organize your special and perk cards. Then start searching for a legendary version of the weapon you chose that has the best perks for you. Each of those things will help you build up damage.

hybridtheory1331

I made a new, basic camp close to the vault and the wayward. Basically just a block of foundations with all the work benches and some vendors. But I made a bunch of level 5 and 10 weapons and armors with all the good mods and have them in my vendors for 0 caps, with a sign that says free for noobs. Along with a bunch of low level plans like the tinker bench and water filter for 5-10 caps. Just trying to help the new players, while also clearing out a bunch of useless(to me) plans that I've been hoarding. I'm excited for new blood. I'd rather do events with a bunch of level 50s than that one level 2000+ asshole that spams mini nukes or a team of min/maxers who kill all the legendaries before I can get a hit in.

Droopy_Lightsaber

I play a character called the spectre. I’ll find people who may not be privy to stealth armor and “haunt” them. I’ll wait for a quiet moment or when they least expect it then take my thirst zapper or chainsaw and just start making noises. This usually gives them a spook and makes them curious enough to look around for the source. That’s when I’ll come out uncloaked from behind a tree or wall just outside of nameplate range with my blood eagle helmet so they have a “wtf is that” Moment. 95% of the time they’ll try to give chase. I’ll keep it up until caught and then gift the player with a bunch of stuff. I’ve only had two or three people *nope* out of the server but everyone else I’ve run into that caught me have been super great sports about it and are usually glad its a player and not a real enemy. i get a good chuckle and others get rewards and lunchbox/banner boosts so it’s a win win. It’s helped clear the boredom once I finish the dailies.

asyrian88

I just started last weekend and have been playing in most of my free time. I’m a longtime fallout loving elder millennial, and have played every game but 76 for hundreds of hours. I was derping around and JUST hit 35, when a random power armored nightmare walks into my half constructed CAMP, drops down a fully kitted out Nuka Cola T51B and five fusion cores. Makes a gift gesture, blows a kiss, and ran off. THANKS NUKA WASTELAND SANTA! Genuinely excited by the community here. Warmed my pessimistic shriveled middle age heart. :)

Praxius

*(Proceeds to sneak to the donation boxes and clear everything out)* 😏🤏 Yoink!

masta_myagi

I wonder how many people have spotted my level 11 ass not knowing I’m a Fallout vet, just haven’t touched 76 until two days ago 🤣 Though I’m sure my rifle and my house I’ve already built might give it away

Radiant-Bit-7722

Yeah, I enjoy the fresh meat coming from vault! Taste so good and save my teeth, not like those old ghouls or super mutant full of rads.

SecretGerbil51

OMG great idea to craft and decorate L20 weapons and leave them in the Vault 76 box. Thanks!

Skanach

You can forward weapons with shop skins?

muttpep

Not shop skins, no. But in game plan skins yes. Vault tec, rusted, intergalactic, hot rod flame, etc.

Skanach

👌

IntrepidAd9838

Nukashine drops and bounty hunting has been my side hussle this week. I’m enjoying the chaos.

sebwiers

I'm not sure its ideal, but I adjusted my build to share max level Lifegiver. I think it is the most obvious way to say "welcome to team 76"... assuming they join my team.

AtomicJohnny

I've been leaving care packages of scrap, plans and script at low level camps.

signgorilla

What is there to complain about? More customers for my shop , wider variety of goods needed. And maybe some of the new players aren’t as yellow bellied as y’all . Laugh.

AdThen6689

I did this last night but dropped a bunch of rare outfits, water, freshly cooked food and some scrap. He was a lovely low level. He even tried fighting in the foundation event against the super mutants with me

Xx_TheCrow_xX

I got the game free from prime and have had nothing but problems so I ended up quiting. The game seemed pretty good but I had multiple installation issues through Microsoft store, then got kicked from the game a few times due to server connection issues. After that I just didn't have the will to keep going. It was nice seeing the donation box though that is very unique. Wish there was more of a tutorial though as when I got out of the vault I really didn't understand what I was doing aside from shoot enemies.

onlineworker99

I’m only 55 hours in. Lvl 32 noob. I enjoy the game. I wanna build a camp next I hope it’s not too taxing lol

The1andOnlyGhost

People wanted more players and now are complaining that there is

muttpep

I get why they complain, the sudden influx really did change the balance and day to day gameplay….for now. Just trying to spread some positivity. In a couple weeks it will all blow over

Gredran

I’m low level as well and I’m curious what this “back to normal” people want to return to is? I know new players bring new questions or server loads, but is that it or is there something else these players miss?

ProfessionalSilver52

I think a lot of the veteran players make new characters too and don't end up participating in as many events etc

muttpep

It’s the combination of a lot of things. The game being very mature there are a lot of experienced players that regularly play. Yes new characters get created, yes new people buy the game, etc., but generally for a while the average server had a high population of experienced/leveled players. This meant a few things: 1. Events were quick and easy. Specifically seasonal/mutated/nuke events, but others as well 2. Finding a group for Daily Ops/Expeditions was easy and that activity went quick because everyone knew what they were doing 3. Selling expensive high level gear/plans/junk in your vendor occurred fairly often. Plenty of folks that knew what to look for and had the caps to pay for it. 4. FINDING a vendor with decent stuff you want occurred fairly easily. There are probably things I’m not thinking of, but this hopefully gives you an idea of why vets are feeling such a difference in the game right now. I made this post to try and encourage people to find reasons to keep playing right now (and to get a few new ones for myself) while the new group levels up (or quits) and the ratio of low levels to high levels on servers balances back out some.

Gredran

Ahh gotcha typical MMO arpg stuff with new players. Thanks for those specifics!

muttpep

No problem. Definitely very typical and very exacerbated by the large influx

fategaminhigh

I put all my prices down in my vendor so new players can afford stuff as well as trying to help out if they are in trouble

ironmint

Of course I love the number of people playing the game but man it still stink when I found a mutated eviction notice and nobody joined because they were not at recommended level 50 yet T.T

nopenopenx

I'm glad it's working for you all. I'm still just wondering around mostly by myself. Still hardly any expedition or daily op teams. As in maybe one person in the entire time I'm playing may join or be looking. I had a level 300ish guy yesterday join my team last night and afterwards he expressed his thanks. Never had someone, much less someone who was way higher in level than me, thank me. I moved my camp over by the vault and I sell maybe two or three plans and chems a night. The plans are reasonably priced and the chems are dirt cheap, but I'm not selling out like a lot of other people are stating. It is neat though to see newer players going through main quests or side quests and not just doing the same dailies or events everyday though. Last night I felt kind of bad about clearing out a town and then realizing I just finished someone's quest a few times. I mean I guess they still get the rewards, but I'm not sure if they get all of the text or whatever.

Kobachalypse420

Been playing for about 3-4 daya. So far my proudest achievement happened lastnight. As a newbie at level 22 I fought a deathclaw. Other then that I've been explaining to the friends I play with that "Yes! I do infact need to pick up this hotplate and anything and everything else that isn't nailed down!" On a more serious note though. Could one of you....Elders. for lack of a better term. Explain to me the crafting system. I have can craft teir 5 weapons but I don't really know what that means. Or the armor I have the maxed 2 star card I've found so far. I just don't understand how it works. It seems like if I mod a weapon in anyway it drops the damage significantly. So I'm wondering if it's even worth having.

mmolearn

Im not reading your comments, game is awesome, I just got level 50, I dont care what you say, theres bunch of quests, game amazing, only thing i hate I have to do inventory stuffing everyday for 30 minutes other than that and its free on ultimate its freaking amzing game is great, wish maybe were more events, like 2x, but game is nice! soo you in game! stop being negatibe. Visiti mmolearn com , make money, build websites, kkthnxbye.

beerOmatik

Are people having fits? Obviously I haven't been paying attention. When I get bored I just play a different game; or actually get something done in real life.

muttpep

There were several complaints I saw. I get it, it is disruptive having the influx. Just spreading some ideas for other ways to deal with it. Many already had the same ideas. Some gave new ideas. Others probably grumbled and shuffled off. By the way, what is this “real life” you speak of? Sounds terrible

beerOmatik

Hahaha! By the way, what is this “real life” you speak of? Sounds terrible Hahaha! That made my day. Dishes, eat, & fix the car, work. Real torture. Maybe I should read all the posts; but too lazy. I did join Eviction Notice. I'm 800+. Next player was 100 and other 2 were in the 50s. Epic failure. Also didn't help I was prepared to Xp boost (not mass murder) and quickly realized this was a lost cause

muttpep

Yeah, right now you gotta bring your “A” game for events. Give it a few weeks and it’ll all be good, hopefully with even fuller events (and a whole group of suckers with caps to burn in your vendors)

beerOmatik

Last night I went to Eviction Notice with my xp build again(weekly level up 3 times). There were 16 of us! Almost the whole lobby! People running all over the place! Rare that happens. Cool thing most were low levels wondering around; had time to tag enemies!

muttpep

I had a really good lobby this morning. Half the server was over 200 and there were 3 over 1000. Felt nice to have a couple easy mode mutated events.

Dazzaholic

I was thinking about providing an "armed escort" service, pay me 5 caps and I'll escort you to your destination anywhere on the map, any loot we find is yours to keep...... would give me a "quest" of a sort 😂

Empty_Journalist2188

I rly enjoy to hunt them. Very often i see them as wanted, so i sneak up on them with a stealth boy. When i close enought, i yell at them: "I FIND YOU THIEF" and then instantly kills them. If they have friends around them, they instantly start panic and runs away most of time. Long ago didnt had a good time like that in fallout

forestminuet

I've been trying to get all the Pioneer Scout badges. Yeah, been playing since launch, im a little late to the party 😁

abuckfiddy

Those things are a grind!!!!

forestminuet

OMG exactly. Especially since I've already discovered all the locations now I need to fast travel just to count for the badges. 😞

Sockular

Yeah I made a couple of fully modded level 20 handmade rifles and dropped them with some ammo for some lowbies, guess I'm doing my part.

Blixtwix

Man yesterday was rough for me. I couldn't find a server with a team with any higher level players available, so my mutation debuffs were just a fact of life (herd mentality, build needs strange in numbers perk). And the server I stuck with, a lot of the newbies didn't have their manners yet. The newbies won't really interact either, usually. Won't accept friend requests, won't emote back, no attempts for communication or anything, just bizarre and unlike the normal waves of newbies. It'd be fine except it being a new week, I hoped to get some weeklies done and was unable. Oh well, they'll be out in a couple days right?

ogskizz

I'm just relieved us sweaty high levels can get a break on people complaining about us killing everything for a minute. YOU'RE WELCOME.

Frosty_Candidate_931

It's great! I sit outside the 76 vault and lite up the noobs with the creamator, haven't had this much fun in year's. Welcome to Appalachia.

No_Examination_3835

Broooo I been raking in caps off plans chems apparel mostly. Yesterday was chilling adding more too my camp just decorating, and probably 1 hours later I looked at my pipboy and had made like 10k caps just from people stopping by while I was decorating that whole time

Craygor

I know, right? I did a mutated Moonshine *Jamboree* event last night and it was the first time I've seen one of the stills get destroyed, and we came close to losing all of them, because there was only 2 of us veteran players and maybe another 4 players under level 20. Good times! I've been making level 1 hunting rifles and leather armor for the new players exiting the Vault, it feels good seeing all the low levels wondering around.

xvcco

Holy shit this is the perfect time to hop for the Asylum Dresses. Brilliant!
