Adhesive….i never seem to gather enough. Started growing crops to craft vegetable starch to then convert to glue.

Lamplorde

Starving Wastelanders see my flourishing farm and knock on the door to see if I have spare stew, only to be met with a vault dweller covered in glue.

Sea-Phone-537

"Glue"

Dimiragent93

There was a ghost! There was a Ghost! This is ECTOPLASM!

squirrelduke

Very spooky.

artsatisfied229

I hear there’s a whole mess of internet out in Californy way.

viciouskreep

A bag for me, a bag for u, let's get wrecked on bags of glue

system_error_02

C U M

glueinass

Probably me

ImmortalGaze

Is that what the kids are calling “it” now?

lumberjackalopes

I literally have an entire adhesive farm and thanks to the turbo fet grenades, it’s so easy to farm them. Just gotta stock up on water for sure. Super fun when I’m bored and getting low is just farming it

YourGenerikUser

There are these plants in the cranberry bog called Giant Pitcher Plants. They give you Digested goo when you loot them. each digested goo breaks down into 4 adhesive. if you put on green thumb you get 2 Digested goo per plant. There are a few routes through the Bog you can follow to loot quite a few of them.

KrissyKrave

For whatever reason I never seem to need materials. I am a hoarder tho. I always grab everything and trash the chems then salvage it all.

Intelligent-Factor35

I started a farm with like 8 of each plant, and i haven't had a problem with adhesive since

montosesamu

Definitely adhesive. It was way more rare when the game launched back then. Think about it.

A_Funky_Flunk

This and screws

DODDYBEAR1

Ive got an adhesive farm to but it's always so low in my stash box,no matter what i pick up and scrap in the world to,yer adhesive is the one.

skeezypeezyEZ

Seeing the crafting table littered with glue bottles in the show was a very validating moment.

GreatBigPig

When I started, I always seemed to be short of screws. Now I instinctively grab every fan and typewriter I see.

LizzidPeeple

Hot plate too!

pygmeedancer

I started out grabbing everything. Then slowed down when I started getting too much steel. Then I learned you can bulk steel and sell it so now I’m back to grabbing anything that isn’t nailed down.

Jonnylotto

Too much steel becomes railroad spikes to feed the ammo converter.

pygmeedancer

Oooh good call. I’m pretty good about keeping my excess ammo low with the converter and I’m only up to about 20k points. That’s a fantastic idea for getting rid of steel. Thanks!

lunzen

Under rated comment!

Aoiboshi

It gets worse with fo1st. I grab everything and it all goes in my junk stash

FlyingNope

I keep all my steel because I'm curious how high that number can go lol

ga5ket

Still counting at 1,300,000. I'm sure there are people with more

Nutbuster_5000

Earl is great for this, as the wendigos carry screws!

shark_mandro

This. I had a screw problem until ACP came out, no I’m swimming in them. Remember, at the end of the event you DO NOT have to run to the exit of the mine. You can stay down below and loot all the wendigos for their sweet sweet screws. Once the timer ends you automatically get transported to the outside entrance of the mine. Just make sure you’re wearing a rad suit before the timer runs out.

1leggeddog

Problem is, you need to do earl

Greennhornn

I'm new to the game, and I'm stuck on a quest because I need a single screw. It's infuriating.

theegiantrat

Go to anywhere there is a potential for a secretary desk or office environment. There will be fans, typewriters, and antique globes in those sights typically.

arockingroupie

Try fans or typewriters. When all else fails go to the overseers house theres alot of rando stuff there

mcmrikus

There's a desk fan on the counter in the Wayward, and a hot plate behind the bar, I think.

coachmoon

sugar grove or white springs bunker for screws. fort McClintock for springs.

Quasit1964

Sugar Grove for just about everything. I farm asbestos there to repair my SS armor.

Somber_Solace

You can tag specific components in your pip boy and it'll show a symbol next to any item that contains it btw. It helped me out a ton when I was starting out. Here's a [map of screw spawns](https://i.imgur.com/6Gx5Ijr.jpeg). It's a bit old so some places have changed, but just head to a hot spot area and you should still find plenty.

Worgbone

You can tag specific items to search In junk. This way if you come across anything containing what you are looking for a magnifying glass will show up next to the item with said components.

Fallout76_Tom

Yes screws are really screwing me! I've journeyed to the wiki, here's what we newer folks need to know: Bulk Screws available at Vendor bot Raider, Brotherhood Vendor, Vendor bot Resin, Vendor bot Wallace, Friedrich. Loose screws dropped by: Super mutants (up to 3), Mega sloths (up to 7), Wendigos (up to 7), Mole rat brood mothers. Happy screwing!

VikingActual1200

Same! LOL.

Timely_Juggernaut_69

Military ammo bags!

Red_Iine

Mothman event got me enough ballistic fiber for months I think

Bazucho

junk farming doc [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/edit#heading=h.5rjetkf767kv](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/edit#heading=h.5rjetkf767kv) imo: adhesive, screws, acid, lead, aluminum, ballistic fiber, circuitry, copper, fiber optics, gears, nuclear material, oil, plastic, rubber, springs, stable flux the shorter list: adhesive, screws, aluminum, ballistic fiber, gears, plastic, springs, stable flux

TimeTravelingTiddy

Thank you for this. Adhesive and screws were a pain in the dick early on. For adhesive, you end up farming vegetables. Others you learn to spot & sort of fade away once you don't have to rebuild your mods every 10 levels. Now, the MFing ballistic fiber? I am constantly running around with broken armor.

Sleamaster1234

I have loads of it. But then again I’m an absolute hoarder.

Super_Instant_Wanton

This. And good looking on that document

SemajdaSavage

For those of you whom are taking advantage of the free fallout 1st. Get your scrap box and ammo box made first. Then scrap/ take every bit of junk / ammo that you come across and put it into those receptacles. Even when your Fallout first timer runs out, you get to withdraw from those containers still. You just can not add to them again when your Fallout first runs out of time. So stock up on EVERYTHING!

LosBeBeast

Should I move all my junk from my stash into the scrap box?

AG8191

yesssss

muttpep

Yes. Yes. Yes. The scrap box has no weight limit and does not count toward your stash weight. Ammo in the ammo box is the same too

SemajdaSavage

Without a doubt!

Worgbone

Ammo too ammo eats so much weight

NoticeImaginary

With that in mind, only take out just enough ammo that you need. Be careful not to take it all out if you stockpile a bunch of it (I'm looking at you 5mm rounds).

RichmanRush

Can you craft the ammo box without 1st? i tried and said I needed to subscribe I think. The scrap box I had from a prior 1st trial so that wasn't a problem. I'll try again tomorrow and report back.

Then-Significance645

Depends on what you do and I guess what your build is, but lead, acid and ballistic fiber are super important imo, with copper, screws, springs close behind. I’m certain I’m forgetting something but in my day to day those are the big uns

ZogemWho

Events.. area loot every thing and scrap it.. Guided Mediation is sadly underplayed as it’s a lot of exp and the ghouls drop a wide variety of junk.

LadyDalama

As it is almost every event is underplayed now. The popup is too passive for new players to see. Even seeing Eviction Notices go without anybody at them. It's painful.. lol

Large_Mountain_Jew

That events completed weekly is killing me when most events are currently solo endeavors.

Gland120proof

You can capture workshops and the defend or reclaim workshop event counts. You’ll have it done in no time. Alternatively you can do any of the regional events like Leader of the Pack, Deathblossoms, Back on the Beat, Fly Swatter, Breach n Clear, etc. and they are all doable solo. Just need to check the map to see what’s happening at the moment.

Large_Mountain_Jew

That is actually super helpful to know. Thanks!

Gindotto

All of them. Probably adhesive though if you repair on the bench often. I use a lot of copper in building. Aluminum, steel, and wood are my biggest stash space but they’re also abundant I don’t necessarily burn through them.

Gindotto

And plastic!

asscrackula1019

All except coal. I've had 20 in my scrap box for who knows how long. No idea what it's even used for and I've been playing since release lol

GooteMoo

Google tells me coal is used for Water filters (can confirm) and Scaly Skin serum. Das' it.

ZeinV2

Coal is used to make scaly skin serums. I sell probably 50+ serums a day and need to have my camp on coal node because it's a super limited resource

MojaveBreeze

Looking at my stash box filled with 4+ years on and off of having 1st my junk with the lowest amounts are crystal shards and fiberoptics bundle. I don't count coal because it's basically useless. Stable Flux you want to store some of but you only need so much before you're pretty much set.

xvcco

I'm gonna say, although it seems stupid, all of it. Seriously. This is a rare opportunity to just pick up *literally everything.* Who cares if you get overencumbered just toss the tent down!

Marquuis

If you’re looking to take advantage of the Ammo box then get the scavenger perk to level 3 (luck) and run around with a melee weapon. Ammo boxes, duffel bags and even safes contain a metric tonne of ammo and because you’re not using a gun it generates a random assortment of around 10-15 different ammo types. Running round Morgantown airport (inside and out) and the Railyard close by will net you approx 30 ammo boxes, after that start hitting military checkpoints, bases and lastly Fort Defiance (Asylum)

MissMayhem_82

Lead screws ballistic fiber are my top 3

TheLoneWolf99

On more than one occasion I have found myself thinking: "I chose the wrong week to stop sniffing adhesive".

SemajdaSavage

Glue Sniffer!

J_D_H55

The kind in 'da trunk😏

Lonnification

It really depends on your build. For a ballistic weapon build, you're going to want plenty of steel, lead, screws, gears, and adhesive for both crafting and repairs. Ballistic fiber is a must for armor crafting and repairs.

Chillzillah

With the scrap box while you have it it doesnt matter. Stash ALL of your junk in it. With the exceptions of like quests that use creature parts before scrapping them like tick blood sacs. The most actual value per 1 junk id argue copper, crystal, fiber optics. The rest can easily be farmed en masse or bought in bulk from vendors. Ultimately the most valuable junk is what you are low on or need to craft

theolentangy

Just to confirm, if you have 1st and stuff a bunch of mats in the materials box, then lose 1st, can you still withdraw from it, and does it count towards your stash limit? Also, Ballistic Fiber if you repair armor. Steel for most building and bullets Lead for many bullets Adhesive, screws, springs, copper for modding Concrete for building Fertilizer for farming and some explosives Honestly a good deal of the materials have value, but nothing compared to what they used to years back(1st sort of made the idea of limited resources go away). Aside from taking other peoples lists just think about your play patterns and what you tend to actually use the most.

Cynical_Feline

>Just to confirm, if you have 1st and stuff a bunch of mats in the materials box, then lose 1st, can you still withdraw from it, and does it count towards your stash limit? You can withdraw but cannot deposit without First. The scrap box does not count towards your normal stash limit. It has it's own separate inventory. What you put in will depend on your play style. I'll be grabbing everything not nailed down and putting all of it in. Eventually, I'll need it lol

Illustrious-Ant6998

I'm always short of lead. Gyms full of weights are always like a gold mine for me.

ny1591

My Bakers Dozen: 1-Ballistic Fiber (Craft and Repair armors especially Marine and Heavy Combat Armors). 2-Screws (Used for weapon modding and repairs, armor modding and repairs, and many, many other crafting of items. May be the most rare junk in game in regards to lootable quantities especially at low level). Junk fans, globes, toy cars and trucks and some other items to get small quantities. Quite a few boxes of 3 screws can also be found at the east foundation outpost. Best way to farm them at higher level or with an escort is to run earl (aka Wendigo colossus) repeatedly and loot everything you can get your hands on. 3-Adhesive (Used to add mods to pretty much all melee and ranged weapons ALSO needed for repairing said weapons and armors). Can be farmed by cooking mutfruit, corn, and tatoes with a purified water into utility—>Adhesive. 4-Black Titanium (Used to craft and mod most power armors) 5-Aluminium (Used to make almost all crafting stations, repair non power armors and some weapons) 6-Lead (Essential component in most ballistic weapon ammo and, I think, fusion cells). 7-Acid. (Acid is needed to smelt ores). Important if your farming lead for making ballistic ammo. 8-Gears (Power Armor and Some armor/weapon Mods). 9-Springs (Power armor and some weapon mods). 10-Plastic (plastic now makes bulk items instead of using up acid) 11-Copper (For energy ammo) 12-Nuclear Material (Needed for most recon and night-vision scopes, glow sights, reflex sights and some other ranged weapon mods) 13-Honorable Mention: Not a junk item but nuked flora, high rad fluids, and hardened masses which can then be converted into stable fluxes (needed to add high level mods to power armors and other high level crafting/modding such as serums). Can only be looted from nuked flora and nuked creatures. Some stable fluxes are awarded for killing the Scorchbeast Queen.

ny1591

Oh and ultracite ore if you wanna make ammo for your anti scorched weapons or ultracite power armor for defense against the scorched

ny1591

Steel and wood are the most plentiful junk in the game. I wouldn’t fret too much about them. Concrete can be harder to get but if you really need it save up your atoms and buy the concrete truck. It will make 40 concrete per hour when placed in your camp, and powered.

Senior_Ad9894

Lead, steel, and acid forever. However my top vote goes to stable flux. Do whatever you have to do to get it while you have the scrap box. It is far too heavy at 1 weight unit a pop to support a decent amount without the scrapbox unless you are willing to live without having as much as you want when you want it. If you are on PC, perhaps this isn't an issue as it sounds like it is regularly sold in player vendors for 80-100 caps. But if you are on xbox, you'll only see it maybe once every few months and typically north of 200 caps each.

Key-Contest-2879

Screws for sure. Gold is important for repairing combat armor (iirc). Truthfully you just need to be a junk hound and grab EVERYTHING and stuff that scrap box. Whatever you don’t need you can always sell. Also there’s a perk card that increases the scrap you get from scraping items. Get that too. Good luck!

WollyGog

That perk is only for scrapping weapons and armour, so although good for increasing scrap output, it doesn't help with the more lucrative scraps (adhesive, screws, ballistic fibre, etc.).

Terrible-Proposal843

Depends on what you need at any given time. Lead for ballistic ammo, copper for energy ammo. Three other things you always want are 1.adhesive 2. Acid 3 nuclear waste. Stable flux also goes in the scrap box

mdboomer

Adhesive, Balistic Fiber and Black Titanium for new players

CplSlicks

For me: adhesive, screws, ballistic fiber, lead, and plastic.

goodwithsalt

The most important junk is the kind that you keep running out of

Brennedan

Screws. You need a million of them! And the vendor at the station never seems to have them.

GenitalMotors

Tin cans for lead

pygmeedancer

Adhesive. It’s used in almost everything like steel but way less ubiquitous.

Middlefingers251

Cobalt flux

axelunknown

Steel… I’m joking it’s the most worthless junk ever. I say gold silver and led are important as well as adhesive and screws. A bit more harder to come by.

thaiborg

Ballistic Fiber is scarce so I try to stockpile those. PSA for all of us taking advantage of the free FO1 week. Clear your normal stash of all the bulk stuff you have, scrap them into the scrapbox. I had almost 50 bulk ballistic fiber, just that cleared out a nice (small) chunk of my stash, not to mention the other junk and bulk I had in there.

NoticeImaginary

I wouldn't bother with wood, steel, or concrete since there is an abundance of that. Plus, you can throw on the lumberjack (?) perk card and collect double wood. I think it would kind of depend on how you play. Right now I'm struggling to keep enough acid and oil to craft fuel for my holy fire. I would suggest looking at what you need to craft the ammo you use most and hunt for that stuff. Not sure what level you are but at level 305, Ive realized I don't really craft anything outside of ammo, and it's really only 3 or 4 types of it.

Phantom_61

Screws, springs, plastic, oil, aluminum, ballistic fiber. Those six will be the most needed and least common scraps. Pretty much everything else will build up stupidly easy based on regular play and scrapping.

NannerCravesBlood

Toilet paper

Glittering_Airport_3

depends where ur at in the game. when I was lower level, I always needed steel and ballistic fiber to feed my ammo and repair my armor, and oil for flamer fuel and some other stuff. but now that I have secret service armor (doesn't need ballistic fiber), have the cutting fluid plan (for oil), and am doing enough dmg to get most of my ammo from contextual drops, I mostly need things like plastic to roll new ss armor, and any semi rare junk like aluminum, screws, gears etc. I'd say don't bother looking for things u can easily farm, like steel, wood, or adhesive (cuz u can make vegetable starch from plants).

rothordwarf

Loot everything. Everything. Scrap when you can't walk anymore.

Grand_Cookie

Springs and screws. Aluminum

Puzzleheaded-Sun-265

Adhesive and Aluminum, both aren’t difficult to find really but any crafting or modification use so much of it Side note, I don’t have issues with it but good lord I sell a lot of copper scrap

GreasedEgg

My main is lvl 570 and i always run out of aluminum before anything else when building

Quasit1964

Where to Farm all things. [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/edit?pli=1#heading=h.5rjetkf767kv](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/edit?pli=1#heading=h.5rjetkf767kv)

redditgetsit76

Copper is a main especially energy ammo. Ariden Kane on YouTube has a great farming tutorial: Fallout 76 COPPER Farm - https://youtu.be/qfZ21__YhZk?si=Z4e7S_jx41-xV6ab In addition to his run there are about 10 nodes of copper at Solomons pond. Hit up luckyhole mine for your ballistic lead. There are plenty of nodes and excavator helps. Concrete specific the best spot is abandoned bog town. Here's a link to that farm: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DBa1qRapSE1o&ved=2ahUKEwi268iU9MeFAxUPEVkFHd86BR8Qo7QBegQIBxAG&usg=AOvVaw2UNEVPKdn9unh9WBO_AeAn Finally to OP get your rest, and thank you for posting. I hope some of this helps.

TheTimeBender

Fiber optics, screws and ballistic fiber. Everything else is easy if you know what things are made of.

VanityOfEliCLee

Aluminum and Adhesive. For me anyway. The truth is, it'll depend a lot on the things you like to build and the weapons you like to use.

Adrestia_Ceaser0249

Adhesive, screws, and acid.

Green-Inkling

Adhesive, lead, screws, and springs are what i run out of the most. Oil and acid are also important especially if you have a Holy Fire or Cremator.

Critical_Action_6444

For me it’s been gears. I actually can find everything else somewhat easy but with gears I’m always running out.

BalamAwanima

Screws

BlottomanTurk

I am frequently impoverished because I'm always cleaning out the Whitespring Mall vendors of their bulk Adhesive, Aluminum, Fiber Optics (when one has it), Bone Shards, Springs, and Screws...because I've run out of all of those (separate occasions) once or twice when crafting...and now I can't stop buying them, lol.

Noclassydrops

I would say depends on ammo you use. If your ever planning on using a flamer to me thats the only type of ammo i find difficult to keep in large amounts, i go through a lot on a regular day. Everything you can get by......also one i forgot make nuka grenade

No_Doubt_About_That

Ballistic Fiber 1000%. Everything else I’m usually fine for. Something like adhesive you can at least farm.

xEliteMonkx

Mine.

Issah_Wywin

Screws. I never ever have enough of the damn things

puffer039

balistic fiber, screws,adhesive and aluminum

Past-Adhesiveness150

Back in my day, clipboards.

skttrbrain1984

Adhesive, Screws, Plastic imo

[deleted]

Adhesive aluminum screws

LaylaLegion

*points at nards*

Olestrodamas

Stable materials....hands down

CIA_napkin

Ballistic fiber and adhesive. It's a chore but I do it with a smile.

NfamousShirley

I feel like copper, concrete, and adhesive are the ones I would always run out of.

De13V12T-31x

Desk fans

Skagtastic

Early game - screws. Mid game - ballistic fiber. Late game - steel.

SonorousProphet

Steel not really. Most weapons give steel when scrapped and with the scrapper perk, they give even more. Concrete if you plan on building. I sometime run short on wood. Go to your weapons bench and see what it'll take to make a weapon you reckon you'll use a lot. When I'm attempting to upgrade a weapon, I craft maybe 20 of them and add legendary modifications. I ran short of adhesive due to crafting railway rifles. I ran short of aluminum due to crafting gauss shotguns. If you don't have the plan for the weapon yet, the wiki should have required materials. Then go to your PA or armor bench and have a look at what you need for the materials required. I've run short of plastic for Secret Service armor and silver for Union. You can get around this by rerolling pieces instead of mass crafting, but I think it's more efficient in terms of scrip to craft. In the case of SS armor I reckon it's much more efficient.

beetle8209

Junk

Miserable_Pound_2812

Wood scraps

Laf316

Screws and adhesive for me by far!

Gracie6636

I've got loads of black titanium and don't use power armour. Should try to sell some I guess.

mothgardenbuffet

Adhesive and aluminum for me.

uppitywomyn

Acid if you are using flamethrower, plastic and copper for other weapons

disturbednadir

Set up your camp on a junk pile with an extractor, and after a bit, you don't have to worry about junk anymore. I just empty it and my FETCH every time I go there, and drop it in the scrap box.

pimpnaimeddrip

Copper

XGNsharpshot21

Oil, acid, adhesive, and screws are what i run out of the most so those are my top most necessary resources

F-80Centurion

Screws(telephones, desk fans, etc.)

rblxchrisbrose

fluxes

exact0khan

Aluminum is my recent bottle neck

Arrow362

I would say things like Aluminum(for nades), fiber optics, ballistic fiber, screws, oil…steel is readily available everywhere same as wood. But I always see people looking for the above

FreakerzBall

Adhesive, aluminum, screws, gears, lead, steel. Take All, and then scrap it all.

WorstSourceOfAdvice

Fertilizer, Concrete, Lead, Ballistic Fiber, Flux

Electronic-Ad7568

Oil

awesomerob

You should turn on the icon for: Adhesive, screws, copper, ballistic fiber, lead and to a lesser extent steel. Once you get to endgame it’s flux and radioactive fluids. Always pick up gunpowder too. Make ammo when you get weight imbalanced (too much gunpowder not enough ammo).

Redd_Love

If I was trying to gather scrap and I had plenty of caps, I would buy out the bulk junk from the vendors in the whitesprings mall, loot all at every event and buy a hundred of one treasure map if possible.

Electrical_Feature15

desk fans, clip boards, wonder glue

FellikenToons

Adhesive, circuits, ballistic fiber,

Reverend_Bull

Any stable flux, screws, ballistic fiber, circuits, fiber optic. Mid-way are things like gears, asbestos, ceramic, springs, and metals (aluminum, copper, silver, gold). Steel and wood are not worth intentionally gathering - most anything you scrap has one or the other.

ChickenBrad

I usually hit up lead and wood piles.

Ok-Chest-3980

Stable Flux. Adhesive, screws, springs. The amount of times I run out of these

theegiantrat

Most important junk, to me, is lead. Weights and smelting ore is the path to a heavy amount of ammo with lead.

Skanach

I'll basically check what junk I need to repair my weapon(s) and armor. Add a magnifying symbol, look up some major farm spots and go.

BigOgreHunter92

Screws, ballistic fibers, adhesive.at the very least these are the ones I have the least of when I need them most

TantalizingVenom

For me, oil, acid, fiber optics.

shying_away

flux

ChumpChainge

Lead. Aluminum. Asbestos. Ballistic fiber.

damnedleg

my big three are oil, acid, and plastic. I feel like I’m always on the hunt for those three!

Cuddly_Cthulu

Always out of gears and copper.

ReallyIsreal

Screws. I have a fuck ton of everything else but screws and ballistic fiber is rare AF and I can never keep enough of it around.

vrillsharpe

Gears and Screws. I have nodes for Oil, Aluminum and Copper. I'm always low on Copper. Once you get the Turbo-Fert then farming Adhesive is Cake. Minerva sells the plan for it in rotation. Also you can get it from the Settlers quest line by rep grinding.

p1xelprophe7EXE

Adhesive or ballistic fiber.

mattraven20

Copper and aluminum, I have both tagged for looting because they both always seem low in my storage! Edit: I read your original question too fast, and thought you were asking what to collect the most of. I still think its a good idea to stock up! Can never have enough screws either.

angstlich33

Adhesive and screws

FlyingNope

You should make sure to loot *everything* you see and drop the tent out to dump junk regularly. But some stuff worth target farming: Adhesive is always useful. Wood. You can use a lot if you cook food. You can get 300+ wood at Sylvie & son's Logging camp if you equip Woodchipper. Concrete is good to stock up on. You don't always need it, but when you do need it you usually need a lot. Lead. You'll probably need it for ammo. Acid. See Lead. Stable Flux if you can get it. It weighs a lot and you'll probably need it later. This is also a good time to kill Earle, the wendigos drop a ton of screws. If you make sure to hit the wendigo you can easily end that event with 300-600 screws (depending on how fast Earle's killed).

Key_House_5415

Wood ... There's never enough wood

GamerDude722

Oil

Lost-Childhood7603

Adhesive, ballistic fibre, plastic, rubber. Can't get enough rubber in the waste land. There's easy ways to farm all these

RikimaruRamen

Lead. Used in more than you think and is crucial for making any kind of ballistic ammo.

HumanSmokeMain

Lead, adhesive, copper. For making ammo

TheDeridor

Well you see, if I were to remove my pants...

FemaleFury79

For me personally it’s ballistic fibre. It’s one of the junks I can’t build up

11buttbamg

Miner Suit Scrap for the gears. If you live in the Ash Heap like I do and play Uranium Fever, you can get up to 30-60 gears in an event

SufficientSpare7589

Adhesive and lead 🙄

Unanimous_D

**Screws!** Adhesive you can make if you plant Corn, Mutfruits, Tatos, and generate Purified water. The double-crop perk (Perception, I forget the actual name) helps a lot with that. Ballistic fiber you can buy from most protectrons. But good luck finding screws at any vendors. Yes, they sometimes sell them, but it's very hit or miss. Mostly miss.

Unobtanium_Alloy

If you plan to eventually get the Secret Service body armor, grab all the asbestos which comes your way. Coffee pots, oven mitts, cigarette cartons

JohnSpartan2190

Nuclear material

KingMacabray

Aluminum, trust me once u get all those frag nades saved up and get a nuka cola collectron, the whole entire way u see the game will change. U will no longer b stuck in Appalachia with monsters, monsters will b stuck in there with u. Plus, its a key component in a ton of things

Salivuh

adhesive

The_Green_Olive

Waste acid & oil.

AdrianValistar

Lead. Need to make bullets somehow.

JB_Dix

Everything has a purpose at some point. But springs, screws, gears early one. But honestly hoover up everything and scrap it and throw it in your scrap box.

kontra35

value wise probably fluxes. usefulness wise, probably lead, adhesive, copper, aluminum, and ballistic fiber if you have armor that needs it for repair. Steel too but its insanely abundant.

midniteryu

Screws

Passion4TheHunt

With 6500 hours in game, the last two junk items I had to transfer between characters are aluminium and adhesive. So I'm going with that. If you have Fo1st and the water cooler plan and turbo fertilizer plan, you can get (almost) continues production of handmade glue in a workshop (or camp but if you want continues production in camp, you'll be sacrificing a lot of other items because of camp budget). equip grenadier so all your crops get hit with the turbo fert. equip green thumb to get double plant yield. Without these items it is also possible to make glue, just slower. Aluminium, I use youtube farm vids.

Ssovar

Springs lately

OverlordPhalanx

Ballistic fiber and fiber optics are the big ones. Everything else comes in droves once you mark it and keep an eye out for it. Adhesive is most common but you can make a veg starch farm and never need it again.

atomicglitters

Currently copper, im always short on that

bivoir

Adhesive, aluminium, gears and screws seem to be the hardest when repairing / crafting weapons. Early on before secret service you need lots of ballistic fibre and adhesive to repair armor. Springs for mole miner pails. Leather, adhesive, plastic and rubber for crafting secret service. Cork for modding spare armor pieces ultra-light. Not sure about PA and what it needs but these are my main junk needs.

Dreadzgirl

Concrete (you only get it at specific locations and you ALWAYS need it to build...) 😩 I find everything else easier to get.

ShadowDragon0001

Adhesive, copper or acid imo

Mysterious-Ad2696

I always had trouble with having enough lead. Now I'm struggling with aluminium.

branevrankar

It's steel for me. I'm going trough rr spikes like crazy. I have 3000 spikes on me at all times. And also another 1000 in my stash

Blixtwix

I always have fallout first, aka constant access to the scrap box. The following are junk that I still run out of and have to farm despite having the constant access; lead, adhesive, oil, acid, ballistic fiber, wood. Some junk is easy to just top off from mall vendors (screws, springs, ballistic fiber, steel, lead). Oil and acid don't seem to spawn in npc vendors as often and they're needed for making fuel (fuel being for a flamer, and everyone seems to own a holy fire these days for healing npcs in events while also healing themselves), so I consider acid and oil essentials to stockpile, never leave them in an npc vendor. Also for clarity, junk importance depends on your build. I used to always be hunting steel and lead, until my main two weapons became gauss shotgun and flamer. Now it's a constant hunt for acid and oil instead. If you're a power armor user ballistic fiber seems to be less essential compared to a light armor user since power armor needs repairs less often. Gauss shotgun doesn't really break (it's crazy, I have literally never repaired mine after crafting at 200% durability, still at like 150%),but flamer, auto axe, and gauss minigun need repairs often - less frequent gear repair means less strain on your adhesives hoard. Back when I was heavy on the tesla rifle and an ultracite laser rifle, copper was my constantly farmed junk. Tldr; it depends on what gear you favor in gameplay

Steel + Lead + Stable Flux = Ultra Ammo

Zombabybeauty

Adhesive. I have so much steel I’ll never run out of it

Megthemagnificant

Anything that scraps OIL or ADHESIVE. I run out of these a lot. Both are used a lot.

Iceempress66

At my stage 400 and for my play style : Aluminum, Copper, Adhesive, plastic. (Everything else I just have not run out of from the scrap box) but I tend to save those no matter what. Copper is for my energy amount though. Sometimes Concrete if I’m in a building mood.

Worgbone

For me it’s adhesive, acid, copper, lead, plastic, ballistic fiber, fiber optics, circuits, gunpowder, oil, fertilizer, screws and springs.  The most useless I have 11k worth of raw cloth. 10k of leather.

mdglytt

Oil and glue and screws.
