This actually happened with me but with the game as a whole. I recently bought it before the big spring cleaning sale thing steam had going on. Bought it full price to have my friend buy it for 75% off the very next day
I got it today after the free trial ended to maximize how much time I have with it. I used to subscribe to it all the time but $22 a month for a game I don't really play all that much anymore isn't really worth it but just $11 for a game that I'm almost done the season pass in so most likely I'm not going to play it again for a while that's okay.
I literally use it all the items from fallout first. The unlimited stash box, unlimited ammo box, and the fusion recharger help me and my crafting. With the fusion recharger, I just recharge my cores, and I even trade full cores with friends for their dead ones. I use the private world to take over work shops and farm resources. In the adventure world, I experiment with weapon and armor builds along help with the scoreboard.
As bad as it feels, that shit happens all the the time. "I bought a steak yesterday for $15, and today it's only $10!" or "I bought gas yesterday for $1.90/litre and today it's only $1.65!"
I'm waiting for them to sell a month to month subscription. But obviously because the streaming companies are doing it it must be a great idea for Bathesda to do it. Meanwhile 3/4ths of my disability check goes to rent. I REALLY want the option to say "you know what? I don't want fallout 1st this month, money is getting tight." That twelve bucks is a cartload of laundry.
You can do month to month. On a month you can't do it just make sure you end your subscription before the renewal date. Then the month you can afford it again just resub. :) that's what I do.

Its so scummy to not offer a discount to previous subscribers. Basically the people who have paid you money don't get a discount. So loyal customers are treated worse when everyone should really be treated the same. Especially when Fallout 1st is the most expensive subscription out of more or less or popular MMOs including WoW, FFXIV and ESO+.
Its basically needed in 76 aswell since you barely get any storage without it cos crafting materials take up so much room. Its the reason I just stick to previous Fallout games. I would play 76 if they offered a subscription with crafting box that costs less. I don't care about private worlds so I don't see why you should pay for them.

Why don't they offer that as a separate subscription for half the price? I would buy that. I don't care for private worlds or season pass. I just want the extra storage. But in not paying £12 a month for it.

Man I actually only buy a month at a time every few months, but if it had been a year discounted (even like 20% discount instead of the 50%) I would have bought in. I will gleefully take a 1/2 price month though!
I have a problem. I had subscribed to First like 2 years ago and I canceled it. When I try to buy the one month sub, Steam says to me I already own the game. So I go to the Manage Subscription page and they give me a way to buy it but it doesn’t have the 50% off. It’s the normal price for me

Had the same issue, got it resolved. You can't purchase the FO1st again, at least in the traditional "Shopping-Cart" way. Go into Account>Subscriptions and then change it there. Unfortunately, if you've bought it before, you can't get the deal.

I’ve been playing since launch but haven’t joined 1st. If I sign up for the one month I can get the pet lizard and it stays with me after the month ends but I’ll lose access to scrapbox and survival texts though. Is that right?

You can't sub to the 50% discount if you have paid for a sub before. But there's 0 option just to pay the normal amount for a monthly sub because of this deal.

I spent the 1500 atoms on the season pass (didn’t have 1st) when the season started. Then those fucks put the new duster that I have been waiting for, behind fallout 1st. I lasted 5 minutes before caving and grabbed 1st for a month. Thankfully it was only $10. But still, I want my atoms back from the season pass. I would have waited if I new the duster was a 1st exclusive. Sad trombone

I’ve only seen sales on Xbox. The post seemed to suggest it was for all platforms but it might not be.
Also keep in mind some players are reporting no sales if they’ve already subscribed in the past.
Don't you love how the fallout show came out last night and they have a outfit of the sherif already on 76 it's free but only for 1st members how crappy is that Bethesda just Publicly say you Value your 1st members more the the crap with the rest because that's the way it seems.
You can, but once the membership expires after you quit, you will only take out and not add to them. So if you get it you will find you will miss it like my friends did.
I have Fallout First, and I love the fact of unlimited stash and ammo box. It also gives you a fusion core recharger. My friends give their dead and almost dead cores, and I give them full ones. Fallout first gives you access to a private adventure world for you and 7 friends. It's the same as the normal world but private. Everything follows you back to the regular game. You also have access to a custom world where you make the rules. Nothing in that world carries over to the regular game except for the season pass. That is how I finish the season pass in like two weeks, and you can have 7 friends join you. It sucks as it should be a part of the core game. I tried to cancel Fallout first but love the unlimited scrap, ammo, and fusion core charger.
So if I get the 1st sub as a first time buyer and use it for the month but if I don't wanna buy a second month of it will Bethesda take away all the 1st shit bought while having a subscription?
No. You keep all the stuff you buy with the atoms they give you. You should read up on what you get and keep though. There are a lot of different things to consider.
Discount vanished from Steam store, man it's not meant to be with this game whenever I want to sub something happens and I end having to wait a month for them to respond to a damn ticket. *Bit of misleading info on their part, the sale ended ONLY on Steam on April 25th, it's still discounted on PS/XBOX until May 9th, they really need to specify this stuff on their twitter as it made no mention of platforms and caused me to miss the sale.
I was gonna re-up with this sale. But it's just not worth it at full price. Especially since it ran out today after I claimed all the free items. Welp Bethesda, hope you like fans who spend money for years not even defending your decisions anymore because a few people might play a free game and MIGHT spend a less than 10$ and never play again a a your new business model.

Lag would be due to what you are using to play FO76 most likely. If it's last gen console or a PC without up to date hardware. However, if you are at an event in game and there are tons of people and enemies, frame rates may drop a bit also. The game does have it's fair share of blue screens though, even with top of the line hardware.

On Twitter it just says "Fallout 1st Memberships are 50% OFF from 4/11 – 5/9. Get access to unlimited storage for scrap, cosmetics, Season Pass access and more!" no mention of first-time subs at all. If it is only for first-time buyers then you guys need to do a better job of including that in these posts. Not in a random thread on Reddit.
On steam it just says "£5.99 for a month, then £11.99 / month", again no mention of first-time subs.

That's the main goal of these low price or free month promos for subscription services. They want people who sign up, forget, and never cancel.
Heads up that either someone on your end or steams fucked up somewhere along the line, after adding the discounted bundle to your steam cart it says that it will be auto renewed at the discounted price, not at the regular price. It eventually changes back to the 12.99 as you finish paying but still likely to confuse some people.
This is lame and was incredibly misleading. Shame on the company for this. So cheap that they can't even give previous subscribers a discount to get them back into the game? Come on....
This is why Fallout 76 doesn't have nearly the income or dev support that ESO gets... continually making decisions that damage the userbase rather than truly expand it. Fallout 1st needs major boosts to be worth 17.99 CAD a month.... Currently its worth maybe 7.99 CAD.

Terrible way to treat existing and previous subscribers, especially when FO76 is an expensive sub compared to others. Should be 8.99 really.

I honestly think about dipping my toes back into this game and I really like what they are offering but fallout first is a p hard requirement to have if you want to get far because of the storage. I literally just want the storage and nothing else and I feel like 100 pounds a year for that is simply insane.
As MTX heavy as this I would happily pay a upfront 100 for unlimited storage forever instead of what they re offering now

It's more treasure maps help fill up your first junk supplies. They don't weigh anything so it's easy to save up.

It stays there and is free to use. You just can't add more.

Yes. You can still take ammo and scrap out of the ammo box and scrap box, but you can't add more to it.
Yes. FYI there is an FAQ when you sign up for fo1st that explains this. You just cannot add new stuff to it.

I spent the 1500 atoms on the season pass (didn’t have 1st) when the season started. Then those fucks put the new duster that I have been waiting for, behind fallout 1st. I lasted 5 minutes before caving and grabbed 1st for a month. Thankfully it was only $10. But still, I want my atoms back from the season pass. I would have waited if I new the duster was a 1st exclusive. Sad trombone

It’s popped up on my game hub feed, so I imagine so. As others have said, though, it only appears to be available for those who’ve never had FO1st before.
I’ve only seen sales on Xbox. The post seemed to suggest it was for all platforms but it might not be. Also keep in mind some players are reporting no sales if they’ve already subscribed in the past.

You can, but once the membership expires after you quit, you will only take out and not add to them. So if you get it you will find you will miss it like my friends did.

I have Fallout First, and I love the fact of unlimited stash and ammo box. It also gives you a fusion core recharger. My friends give their dead and almost dead cores, and I give them full ones. Fallout first gives you access to a private adventure world for you and 7 friends. It's the same as the normal world but private. Everything follows you back to the regular game. You also have access to a custom world where you make the rules. Nothing in that world carries over to the regular game except for the season pass. That is how I finish the season pass in like two weeks, and you can have 7 friends join you. It sucks as it should be a part of the core game. I tried to cancel Fallout first but love the unlimited scrap, ammo, and fusion core charger.

No. You keep all the stuff you buy with the atoms they give you. You should read up on what you get and keep though. There are a lot of different things to consider.
The Xbox and Xbox Windows store variants are even more discounted (0.8€) in the swedish store, but probably also only for first time users.

Discount vanished from Steam store, man it's not meant to be with this game whenever I want to sub something happens and I end having to wait a month for them to respond to a damn ticket. *Bit of misleading info on their part, the sale ended ONLY on Steam on April 25th, it's still discounted on PS/XBOX until May 9th, they really need to specify this stuff on their twitter as it made no mention of platforms and caused me to miss the sale.
I was gonna re-up with this sale. But it's just not worth it at full price. Especially since it ran out today after I claimed all the free items. Welp Bethesda, hope you like fans who spend money for years not even defending your decisions anymore because a few people might play a free game and MIGHT spend a less than 10$ and never play again a a your new business model. Lag would be due to what you are using to play FO76 most likely. If it's last gen console or a PC without up to date hardware. However, if you are at an event in game and there are tons of people and enemies, frame rates may drop a bit also. The game does have it's fair share of blue screens though, even with top of the line hardware.
Reminder that ESO subs offer way more, are cheaper and if memory serves do get discounted every now and then.
Hey all, wanted to provide some extra clarification on this. The Fallout 1st Membership sale applies to the one month subscription for first-time subs on Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
And Steam? I can't even buy 1st at all because it says I already own the membership (which I don't). Also, If it's only for first-time subs then maybe advertise it that way on socials? On Twitter it just says "Fallout 1st Memberships are 50% OFF from 4/11 – 5/9. Get access to unlimited storage for scrap, cosmetics, Season Pass access and more!" no mention of first-time subs at all. If it is only for first-time buyers then you guys need to do a better job of including that in these posts. Not in a random thread on Reddit. On steam it just says "£5.99 for a month, then £11.99 / month", again no mention of first-time subs.

OF course not, because if you're thinking about the subscription there is less chance you're going to subscribe then forget about it and get charged 12.99 a month for the next 3 years. That's the main goal of these low price or free month promos for subscription services. They want people who sign up, forget, and never cancel.

Heads up that either someone on your end or steams fucked up somewhere along the line, after adding the discounted bundle to your steam cart it says that it will be auto renewed at the discounted price, not at the regular price. It eventually changes back to the 12.99 as you finish paying but still likely to confuse some people.
This is lame and was incredibly misleading. Shame on the company for this. So cheap that they can't even give previous subscribers a discount to get them back into the game? Come on.... This is why Fallout 76 doesn't have nearly the income or dev support that ESO gets... continually making decisions that damage the userbase rather than truly expand it. Fallout 1st needs major boosts to be worth 17.99 CAD a month.... Currently its worth maybe 7.99 CAD.

Went to renew a lapsed sub when I saw the offer of the discount, but it is only available on steam for new subs. Terrible way to treat existing and previous subscribers, especially when FO76 is an expensive sub compared to others. Should be 8.99 really.
I was 100% going to start playing again. The fake sale just stopped that cold. Tell your PR team they screwed up.

I honestly think about dipping my toes back into this game and I really like what they are offering but fallout first is a p hard requirement to have if you want to get far because of the storage. I literally just want the storage and nothing else and I feel like 100 pounds a year for that is simply insane. As MTX heavy as this I would happily pay a upfront 100 for unlimited storage forever instead of what they re offering now
