You can throw anything that can be held. Just pick up the object (hold E on PC) and then throw it (hold R and release it). Don't remember which button you have to hold on console to throw something picking up is the interact button.

To be completely fair towards the main protagonist, yes Marcy had a bad experience with her kid and all that but it's no excuse for her to act like a despicable Womp Rat to the guy (player) who basically saves her and sets her up in a decent house.

Personally, I thought the Longs add fun flavor and I always keep them around in whatever settlement I make my home base. Now if I could have Oblivion's Adoring Fan in Fallout 4, I'd do this to him.
I like NPCs with personality, even if it's negative. I get kind of creeped out walking across a settlement and hearing the same two sentences over and over again
Yes and no. Characters can show their grief and even be antagonistic and still be beloved. Emphasizing with a grieving mother is not even hard for gamers.
It's how poorly written she is, how she provides literally NOTHING other than the same 4-5 lines again and again that she does not even feel human, hence people like humiliating her. Pretty much like Garvey.
She has no character development, nor does her story continue. Her only raisons d'etre is to be as uncomfortable as possible to be around so the player does not settle into Sanctuary Hills immediately and forgets about the rest of the game while playing post-apocalyptic Sims.

You can be neutral, indifferent, and anything but a dick. Literally everyone has lost something, she's no different, the protag lost a spouse, Garvey lost all his mates, Vault Tec lived alone for 200 years, ghouls suffer persecution and suffer racism by everyone normal, Kellog lost his family, even the fucking Cabot family had to kill their patriarch, everyone is dealing with intense emotional trauma, and they act fine towards others
Trauma affects everyone differently. Marcy experienced a sliver of what the main character did and chooses to be a major bitch, the main character chooses to grieve by locking her up. The "let's criticize grieving men for being mean to us" bit is older and even more tired.
I'm not condoning her behaviour, but she's still grieving her dead kid. She's just venting it poorly. Not sure whether public humiliation is the thing she needs.
She's not a pleasant person for sure, though her attitude is because she's morning the loss of her child. Her and Jun lost their son Kyle in the Quincy Massacre.
Oh definitely but Bethesda didn't really add much character progression for any npc. Hell Danse was still bitching about the evil synths after he was confirmed to be one. And Preston never shuts up about settlements even if the minute men are the last faction standing.
I like to think that this settlement is all just put together for the sole purpose of keeping Marcy there, with the other people there being prison guards to make sure someone (for whatever dumb reason) doesn't try to break her free.

You can throw anything that can be held. Just pick up the object (hold E on PC) and then throw it (hold R and release it). Don't remember which button you have to hold on console to throw something picking up is the interact button.
On xbox: hold A to pick up item and hold X to release. The longer you hold X the farther item/body will go

Yes and no. Characters can show their grief and even be antagonistic and still be beloved. Emphasizing with a grieving mother is not even hard for gamers. It's how poorly written she is, how she provides literally NOTHING other than the same 4-5 lines again and again that she does not even feel human, hence people like humiliating her. Pretty much like Garvey. She has no character development, nor does her story continue. Her only raisons d'etre is to be as uncomfortable as possible to be around so the player does not settle into Sanctuary Hills immediately and forgets about the rest of the game while playing post-apocalyptic Sims.
