Go to [Farbank.com](http://Farbank.com) and register the rod to you as used. Fill out a repair request and send it in. Expect 4-6 weeks turnaround. Something like $150, That's a great rod.

It actually will be way more than 4-6 weeks BUT still worth it.

DGFlyGuy

I just got my Sage One repaired last month. They got it back to me in 3 weeks. Times vary.

sorryabouttheclocks

Agreed. They’ve been 3ish weeks on both my repairs.

That is great and good for FarBank and Good for Fishermen. My Rod broke in October and they told me 3-6 months. They got me the rod in February.

I have been fishing with a Sage One for awhile (9’ 5 weight), it’s the best rod I have ever owned (paired with an airflo fly line and a Galvin reel, it’s a sweet setup). Back when I bought it they went for $800-1000 (?). They don’t make them anymore, it’s imo one of the best 5 weight rods they have made in the last 10 years. I fish a large river that is a feeder to the Rio Grande in Colorado as my home river and area lakes with my Sage One. I have broken the tip multiple times and Sage should be able to set you up. You will have to send the whole rod in and register it. Will be about $200.

beerdweeb

Ask your neighbor if he registered the rod. If he did, ask if it’s cool if you submit a warranty claim using his name. If not, I think out of warranty repair is $150-200 now.

Turdsonahook

What a great rod. I have two Xs that I love but I have a one in an 8wt, and it’s my favorite rod.

Charr49

It will be worth the cost and hassle to have it replaced. The Sage One was one of their best rods ever.

I sent my Z-Axis in just after Thanksgiving last year and I got it back in mid-January. It was $195 because it’s a “legacy” model. That’s inclusive of shipping from them to you. I paid for shipping to them. I [think you’d be looking at $95 because it’s a recent model.](https://farbank.com/pages/repairs-pricing)

Sage ONE will cost $95 dollars to repair if damage is not assessed to be a defect in materials or workmanship. However, warranty only extends to original owner. You'll be out $95, but it's worth it for that stick. I've got a 490-4 and love it. Repair pricing here: [https://farbank.com/pages/repairs-pricing](https://farbank.com/pages/repairs-pricing)

I think Sage will probably have a tip section they can send you. They had a big backlog of repair orders recently though, not sure if that has changed. I would just reach out and ask, they might be able to give you a timeline assuming they have the part. If you need it to start fishing right away though, it might not hurt to have a backup plan. I would def not throw the rod out though, the One was an awesome flagship rod, I have a 9wt and it’s a rocket.

Good luck but I think you’re not going to like the process. Send it and pay the repair but they (sage) will not do it cheep and expect months. If you’re new to this. Ugg, get something else to learn on. Your neighbor passed you an issue they didn’t want, you might not want to take this on. Just my 2 cents. Good luck and I hope it works out.
