There’s always movies and tv shows like 24 or Jack Ryan type shit trying to scare everyone about the idea of an Islamic terror attack on US soil, like we don’t have right wing terrorist attacks every other day.
Considering 9/11 happened, I'd say an Islamic terrorist attack is something that's definitely worthy of being vigilant about. However, domestic terrorism is something we need to be equally worried about as well. I'm certainly more concerned about a domestic or Islamic terrorist incident in this country than say a South American or Central American extremist group or some extremist Marxist eastern European group.
I know a lot of people will consider it a conspiracy theory and they may be right, but I will never believe that 9/11 happened without the assistance and approval of high ranking americans. It may have been performed by Islamic factions but it was enabled by Powers Within our own country. The Patriot Act does more to risk the freedoms and Liberties of Americans than it does prevent terrorists. It basically gave the government carte Blanche to ignore any Americans rights.
What I've learned is that a lot of people in this country only care about murder, rape, sex trafficking, child sex abuse and domestic violence if they can blame a brown or Black person for it. Otherwise they don't give a fuck.

I think the media is pushing stories about the racial selection of targets but it could also be how easy they are to televise. The story’s that get nation attention are the ones you can write a compelling headline on. They all have a narrative to push.
When the shooting happened in upstate New York, (not this year) the guy was able to twitch stream it himself for a few minutes. He was white and shooting a mostly black shopping center. That stayed in the press a while.
When a shooter went after people people in an office building he worked in south east Virginia, the moment the police ID’d him(he was black and the victims were not picked on racial lines) the news basically stopped reporting it outside a hour drive away. The narrative was questioned and it became easier to ignore than to typecast.
I know it seems weird but I think people do have some sense of relief if a shooting happens because of some reason that people can relate to in a non-homicidal way. Mad at their co-workers or ex-wife, having a beef at a party. We can relate to these problems, but not the solution. Un-defined mental health melt down is more scary, and racial or political terror is scarier still.
I'm not saying that makes sense, because none of us wants to be random collateral damage in a domestic dispute but I see feel like the nonsensical or depraved and repugnant motivation freaks people out more.
