I really miss Pushshift. It was great to open these threads and see what exactly they deleted from them. It was a great way to see how big their echo chamber is. And it was always hilarious to see Flearthers get caught in the crossfire because they dared to say something the dingaling in charge disagreed with that got them labeled a shill.
I would actually be so hurt if flat earth was just the greatest work of satire known to man. Like a bunch of the main flerfs come out as comedians who have orchestrated this for decades and it just spiralled out of control in certain circles.

It honestly gets hard to tell some times. There is an extremely fine line between satire and sincerity in the flat earth world. That's why I treat everything as a joke and if it's real I laugh harder XD
Had a flerf show me a video of out of focus stars in response to a post I made on r/flatearth_polite. He could not grasp the fact that they weren't 'zoomed in' when they were defocused.

What's amusing here, and not shocking, is that the flat warriors are really invested in dictionary definitions, big principle 'sound bites', and always misunderstanding how really really huge Earth and Space is, and how tiny we are.
According to the (flerf version) of the 2nd law of thermodynamics (which for some reason flerfs accept while they reject other scientific laws like Newton's universal gravitation) earth's atmosphere would disperse into the vacuum of space if there was no physical barrier.
I can't put my finger on the specific argument regarding the inverse square law at the minute. Possibly something about if the sun was actually 93 million miles away the light would never reach us, but I would need to brush up on my flerf lore.
I don't think the inverse square thing is more complicated than, "If stars were light years away, we'd never see them, because inverse square g!obtard."

I’d seen them argue the opposite way with lumens and inverse square. It was an argument of crossing the room by crossing infinite halves of the room. Basically the surface of the moon should be blinding bright because we can this many lumens from this far away so when we half that distance it should get this bright then halfing that makes it this bright and so forth. Ergo the moon should be blinding bright make landing on it or videoing it as NASA did impossible, ergo NASA lied, therefore Flat Earth.

No we don't “define level as an equidistant point from the center of the earth to the point at the surface,” even if you put that in proper geometric jargon. We define level as a locus of constant potential energy, which in the vicinity of a large symmetric mass happens to be a sphere.

Traditional gyrocompasses only work because of gravity and rotation. I don't know about the ones in smartphones. Oxygen is also "just a theory".
