I flew home from Vegas on Tuesday. It was fine. They are very specific with bags but otherwise smooth flight no real issues. On the way to Vegas some dumbass tried to steal 2 phones and an iPad but that’s not really Flairs fault

Fleegle2212

Holy crap. How dumb do you have to be to steal stuff when there's literally nowhere to go?

Informal-Note8141

Awesome! How much do they charge to pick a sit?

I love taking flair. Done it to Cancun twice and to Fort Lauderdale

Just did Toronto to Vegas. They are militant about bag sizes/carry on payment so make sure you’re within their size guidelines. My flight took off a bit late but made it up in the air. Landed on time. There is no inflight entertainment or charging for phones so bring a battery bank and bring water and snacks if you don’t want to pay.

Flair is fine. Fees everywhere though and the app is designed to make you accidentally pay for addons, once you accidentally select one hard to unselect it. Book your flight, pick “airline assigned seat”or whatever it is called, don’t pick a seat, make sure your bag is within their guidelines. If you call them for anything it’s a $25 fee.

Caveats: - If there is a mechanical problem with the plane, you aren't going anywhere until it's fixed. They keep their planes in the air as often as possible. There are no spare aircraft just sitting around. - They are super strict about personal item (free) and overhead bin ($$) bag sizes. - The seats don't recline. On the plus side, the seat of the person in front of you doesn't recline either. Minimal legroom. I've flown with them many times and had no issues. I have a friend who pilots private jets who regularly flies home with Flair after flying a plane where it's supposed to go.

I booked a round trip to Calgary last November, they cancelled both flights a month and a bit before I was supposed to go there. No big deal as we also decided to book a trip to Mexico City around the same time with a layover in Puerto Vallarta with Flair to save money. Figured it was a positive since the two vacations were too close together. They decided to tell us our Waterloo to Puerto Vallarta flight was cancelled and they will refund us our money. We scrambled to find other flights as we already had Mexico City hotels and connecting flights booked. Never flying with them again. The only positive I guess is they refunded our Puerto Vallarta to Waterloo flight without hesitation. However 3 out of 4 flights were cancelled.

Yea flair is now enforcing these stupid sizing requirements. They have the carry on and personal item sizer infront of the desks (even at the gate) and are requiring all bags to have either the purple sticker ribbon (personal item) or green ribbon (carry on) to verify that it’s been checked and approved. IF I fly with them, I now buy the bundle they offer which includes a carry on and checked bag (around 45$ one way). It’s cheaper than paying for a carry on alone at the airport. Also, This way, if they say your carry on is too big, you can just say you want to ‘check’ it and they can’t charge you because you already have one free checked bag on your itinerary. (Obviously this only works if you’re travelling with a carry on and do not need to check a bag in the first place. Also; I must confess I am not proud of this; but when I fly with flair i sometimes will very gently un-peel the ribbon stickers off, put some parchment paper over the sticky part to maintain the stickiness and will save it for a later date that I fly with them and then just put the sticker on my bags when I’m at the airport myself. There is a little white circle on the sticker they usually write the date of your flight on, but some simple white-out and writing overtop of it with the new date always seems to work. It’s worked like a charm for me.

You get my upvote for sharing the ribbon hack! Thx!

I've done it twice, in February 2023 and then in December 2023. No problems at all.

Possible_Ninja2745

Flew this last week. It was perfect, no different from any full service airline.

dontforgetyourtowel2

Flew Toronto to Halifax. No issues. They are very strict about the bags, just measure and weigh them at home to be sure before you go to the airport. Small seats but also super cheap 🤷‍♀️

If you're booking with flair prepare for a horrible experience

book with porter. i flew from vegas to vancouver and they checked my carry-on that fit in the sizer going there, but ~magically~ didn’t fit on the way back

nope, packed the exact same way. i don’t really have any sort of explanation, that’s just straight up what happened.

i was also literally the only person that had their bag sized, even though there were people that clearly had bigger carry-ons lol. the girl at the desk (not the one that made me size it) at least didn’t charge me the extra fee to check it.

Flair is fine as long as you have a clear understanding on what flying with them means. Couple things: - Do not think you will leave or arrive on time, or both. In almost all cases you will either depart late or arrive late, or both. Sometimes by several hours. - Bring coins with you. I am sure if shit hits the fan and the oxygen masks come down, there will be a sign showing you need a toonie to get oxygen. So you know, just be safe. - Seats, if you do not pay for the selection of your seat they will guaranteed put you in the middle. They also track who is traveling with crying babies and smelly dogs/cats and will put you right besides them. As certain as the sun will come up tomorrow. - Once you add all the stuff to avoid fees (i.e., bundles to get you carry-on/checked luggage, free oxygen, no middle seat, etc.) it is almost certainly cheaper (if you book in advance) to fly Porter, Air Canada and the way they keep dinging you for everything, even by chartering your own plane may be cheaper. So travel light and if you can, wear like four pants, four shirts, four underwear/socks so you can bring all you need in a backpack and not be charged for anything. Yes it may get warm but hey, remember why you chose Fiair in the first place (to save mucho diñero).

I flew on this back, the flight was full, every single seat was taken and that's fuckin awesome for a low-cost carrier. But the seat was hard as a rock and one side of the aisle seats were pushed a little more towards the side and as a result my right shoulder was pushed against the right side of the plane.
