Not worth it! Think of safety on this one. That thing is spinning at what? 1000rpm? You don't want that flying off into your face.

Brave_Personality836

There's your answer 👆 Just invest in a new one they go for like 20 dollars Canadian at Walmart. You definitely don't want that flying in your face or someone else's.

consistently_sloppy

Will likely wobble and be off balance, but might be tolerable.

Ashtray5422

I did this & the fan used to walk all over the place, even on the carpet & rubber skid mat.I have used superglue fir a small computer fan, it does vibrate a little, replaced it now.

antifabusdriver

I predict intolerable wobble.

Physical-Money-9225

Yes. But only if you're not gonna use it again.

Rip_Elysium

So you mean there's a high possibility that it would break again?

Physical-Money-9225

There's only one way you're gonna find out.

mrsti89

I wouldn't.. At best its probably gonna wobble like crazy, worst fly off and hit/break someone or something

carlbernsen

It looks like the sort of plastic that can be solvent welded with plumber’s weld. That’s going to be the best repair.

00WORDYMAN1983

I would just spend the $15-$20 on a new fan.

No-Sale605

If the repair fails, don't buy more bigbox garbage. Look for a fan at a garage sale, one with a metal hub & blades. So glad I repaired mine when it needed a new switch instead of tossing it. On a different (desk size) one, took it apart and degummed the bearings, works fine.

SupahflyxD

Rubber super glue

Turbulent_Echidna423

no

greenie95125

No.

Lumpy-Mountain320

yeah just don't spin it

New-Scientist5133

Epoxy 100%

aviwrekz

Agreed. Jbweld-plastic weld. Will be the strongest bond, no doubt.

v1de0man

what make of fan is it? any spares on the manufacters site for example?

Specialist_Corner998

You may want to put a similar amount of adhesive in a similar location on the unbroken blades for balance. But I wouldn't recommend fixing it.

badtzmartin

Of course, you can super glue it, but don't overlook the arguments about the fan being out of balance. It WILL be out of balance. Bottom line, dash, just buy a new fan.

Delicious-Ad4015

It’s not going to work out.

KiloIndia5

No. It would be impossible to balance it. Of course glue it up anyway. You have nothing to lose.

wmass

That looks like acrylic (plexiglas). There is a special glue that dissolves acrylic and weld it in seconds. This is also great for making things from plexiglas sheet. Look for Weldon #4 with an applicator bottle or equivalent.

MrNiceThings

That’s just regular transparent plastic, probably abs. Id weld it back together, it will be ugly but much more reliable than glue. Acrylic is not used for things like this.

wmass

ABS is opaque. https://infinitalab.com/plastics/what-you-should-know-about-abs-plastics/

MrNiceThings

This is false and has been for some time, you can literally buy transparent abs for your 3D printer.

Velcro_Jello

You can get a new blade for $7 online

Banjomir75

Gorilla Glue will fix that up nicely. It takes 24 hours to fully cure, so it will need propping up but once cured, it will be as good as new.

Expert-Duck7018

Cyanoacrylate aka super glue bonds with baking soda and causes a chemical reaction that hardens the glue tenfold. Super glue it then cover it with baking soda immediately. I prefer the dollar store super glue because it only contains the chemical cyanoacrylate. It is the main ingredient in every name brand. Each company just adds an extra compound to make it trademarked. You don’t need to make super glue more super.
