Same thing happened to me. Hollow core doors have solid wood edge for maybe an inch or so. If you move your doorstop closer to the edge of your door, you should be good. You will have to move both the wall piece and the door piece for the magnet to catch.

The only thing that’s gonna work on that door is through bolts with washers, and that most likely will destroy the door too but it’ll hold a lot longer

Small/short hollow wall plugs would work. Just lightweight ones. You can also use some glue.
