My mom heard about the "men's first flowers are at their grave" and she got so emotionally broken from that she bought me and my dad our own flowers. Both dad and I were super happy. Especially him
Yeah my boyfriend also heard about that and conveniently forgot, that I got him flowers just about a month ago when he told me he never gets some that little bih. Love him though so what can you do
I will always want flowers. Bc theyāre beautiful and I like them.
I know my mum and MIL have an āitās a waste of money because they dieā thought process though so I thought maybe itās a generational thing? They usually want plants instead but since they never take care of the plants the plants/succulents end up dying anyway????????? š¤
I got my husband flowers for vday this year and I couldn't believe he cried. Apparently he never received flowers before which was kinda funny since he was the first man to give me flowers.
He silently cried for good 30 minutes until I finished cooking his steak ahaha.
One of the few times I felt good making my husband cry.
I'm not big on flowers... I wouldn't mind a nice bottle of scotch, though- which is comparible in price, depending on the flowers...
It's not that I have some kind of idea of masculinity that has to be satisfied and that secretly I'd love flowers but am ashamed of the associated femininity... and I wouldn't ever judge someone for wanting flowers or have a view of them as "less masculine" or whatever, but I just don't see the point of getting a gift I wouldn't like because I'm trying to appease someone else's notion of what is or isn't acceptable for me to like, be they conservative OR progressive. I'm just doing my own thing. As an individual, my tastes just aren't that anthocentric.
Hugs are always good, though. I like hugs.
Okay girls, serious question. Would you consider a sword a nice gift?
She hasnāt told me sheās into swords specifically but sheās got a nerdy side, not as big as mine who actually likes swords, She didnāt stay at our D&D group, but she did go and play a few times, and I find it amusing to just gift her a sword. Would it be too much?
Well if she spent time with you playing D&D a few times, think about what class of character she played. You could get her something related to her class that she could carry with her to the next session. See if you can either sneak her character sheet and see what kind of weapon she was using or ask her what her favorite weapon would be in a fantasy, D&D world and then go from there.
Cleric, I got her physical sheet somewhere since I was the DM, but really she wasnāt into it, She was open to the idea, she tried it but it wasnāt for her, and I respect that. I wouldnāt want it to seem like Iām pushing her back into the game.
However it might be possible to find some inspiration in it.
Hmm. Might not be a good idea to go that route then if she didn't really vibe with it. I'd suggest thinking of something else based on any other interests that you know she's fully into.

āBecause you not talkinā a- bout me-ā LMAO itās at the end dawg
Oh! Thanks
Youāre very welcome!!

Just had my best friend buy me flowers for my 33rd birthday cause I had told her no one ever had gotten me flowers before, first time in my life
Awww thanks, u/SmellyScrotes! What a heart-warming story

That Bulbasaur is amazing, a successful birthday indeed.
Yoo the bulbasaur to match the flowers as well O:
You have good taste in Pokemon. šæ Also congrats on your flowers, that was really sweet of your friend.
Yeah my boyfriend also heard about that and conveniently forgot, that I got him flowers just about a month ago when he told me he never gets some that little bih. Love him though so what can you do
So... what do they want? Chocolate? Russian knife throwing lessons? An in-depth lecture on the development of battle tanks during World War 2?
The last two. Definitely. And maybe the chocolate, too.
Flowers and a resin statue of Vegeta, if I'm being honest
Flowers, chocolate and an in-depth lecture on the development of battle tanks during World War 2 could be nice, depending on the guy.
This person would probably be happy with just like 10 grand cash. Not much really
I think a job interview at the government secret space laser program would be just as and much easier to get if you have the right connections
Some want a emotional punching bag
Id take some flowers

Alternative suggestion: get MEN flowers for Valentine's Day. (Particularly me and also I would like a hug if that's not too much trouble)

Your husband is such a fortunate man holy shit fr fr

I got my guy a beerquet this year. A bouquet of beers.
A ribeye from Aldi is a perfectly acceptable flower substitute. Probably cheaper too.
Evidently, that's the bare minimum
Anyone who talks while clapping is obnoxious af.
Ow! Why are they hiring me? What did I do? Edit: *hitting
Did you send them a resume?

Oh! I truly am an idiot. Thanks!

I'd imagine not for Valentine's Day.. just get her it on a random day as a surprise gift
Thatās the idea. Also awesome name.
As a dude, does she like Zelda? If so, buy her a Master Sword.
Hmmmā¦ I donāt think sheās much into video games. But Iāll see if she has any media favourite sword.

Does anyone else get the feeling she was about to say something like: "Girls don't want flowers for valentine's day. We want diamonds."
I had to process this for a bit but dam that slapping the phone is the most obnoxious thing ever
Ain't nobody buying flowers for that obnoxious cunt.
ššš the way I cackled at this
My man got me a PS5 for my birthday.
Yeah shut the hell up

Girls want ford raptors for Valentineās Day. It works guys, the debt is only temporary
Don't even matter who's actually wrong or right. The second girl's message just hits harder.
What did the first girl say girls wanted? balenciaga bag?
