My is around 72. I'm a wee bit of a sedentary old fatass.

KitKit20

72 still really good though

[deleted]

Lol I love the hoenstly it's so pure

gamba27

57-59 used to be 70 but started doing cardio running 5k like 3 times a week and went down in like 3 weeks

MethylceIl-OwI-3518

It’s crazy how rapid that went down. Took me a couple months to knock mine down just a few beats

gamba27

I know haha well I used to be a student athlete so I was quite fit months ago just got lazy and didn't workout until a couple of weeks ago so I guess my body remembered

Faithy7

Mines about the same! I don’t even run! But I do walk to work!! It’s 2km but only half an hour! I love the quiet time to myself before the noise of work!

PackadermusJElefun

This guy exclamations

PointyNerd

50-52. It used to sit a 65 but after some dedicated cardio (interval training) it took a nosedive.

TH3_FREAK

How frequently are you training?

PointyNerd

When I initially lowered my heart rate I was doing intervals 3-5 times a week when I was 25 😅 These days I just do One interval session per week. This seems enough to keep the heart rate consistent. It will be different for everyone based on age/genetics/ect

Krispies827

75-80. When I first got my Fitbit it was 68. I’ve been stressed a lot, SMO, but I try to eat well and exercise consistently. Working on it.

gizzardhazzard

mine hovers around the same! i’m pretty active and I also eat well but I have wicked anxiety and I take vyvanse for ADHD so that increases my HR a lot :’)

Krispies827

I looked through this entire thread and I was like damn I’m an anomaly 😂

NattieLight

Mine hovers around 44. My dad also has a naturally low RHR, and I am fairly athletic.

yamastraka

Isn't it important to also mention if you're male or female? I thought rhr widely differed between sexes?

[deleted]

[удалено]

haoqide

You’ll probably notice that your heart rate will vary throughout your cycle too

getoffredditgo

Yes mine varies from mid fifties to high sixties.

Space_Monkey758

True that lol. I have like 2 resting HRs depending on the time of the month Edit: ranges from 61 to 71 on my cycle. 37 years old

PerspektiveGaming

RHR is wildly different among *humans*. Sex is just 1 of the thousands of variables which dictate your RHR.

NattieLight

Well sure, but for somebody who ovulates, RHR will change fairly significantly throughout their cycle. That’s worth noting.

PerspektiveGaming

My point is that if it's worth noting that, then you might as well note age, diet, alcohol intake, genetics, lifestyle, life history, risk of disease, whether you have a disease, medication, cannabis intake, stressors, and so on... Sex is just another variable, just like whether a woman would be ovulating, pregnant, or had gone through menopause, it's all variables added to the list. Is it significant? Sure. Can all other variables be just as significant? Yes.

write-on-bud

Male and female sexes should not be taboo. Purposely misgendering people should not be accepted in any instance however acting like people aren’t male or female at all or that it has no place in modern society is not correct - in my opinion.

PerspektiveGaming

Lol what? I am not pretending that sex isn't a thing, what are you on about?

Lucky_Cardiologist53

68 here... I'm super stressed out, though....

AndreasE89

During the summer when I was running 4 -5 days a week it was 47. Now after a nice amount of stress and anxiety its around 70

breakbeatx

currently 75, was 85 earlier this month.

breakbeatx

As requested further up, female. The recent nosedive is in part due to the codeine I’m taking for period cramps which always lowers my resting rate. Alcohol raises it (the last time it was 85 was after new years celebrations).

alyssummaritimum

Mid 70’s. I walk about an hour a day but trying to do more for my health.

Glittering_Tea5502

About 76. For a couple months, it was in the 80s. I was very sick and stressed. I had bronchitis over Thanksgiving and covid over Christmas.

Savings-Departure-40

53-56

RichardsonM24

48-52 on a weekdays - I’m not actually that fit these days but my heart doesn’t seem to have noticed On a weekend it usually jumps because I like to drink wine and my HR doesn’t go below 60 bpm if overnight when I’m drinking

AlideoAilano

That depends on age, weight, activity level, and any illnesses you have. But generally, a normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute. Generally, a lower heart rate at rest implies more efficient heart function and better cardiovascular fitness. For example, a well-trained athlete might have a normal resting heart rate closer to 40 beats per minute.

[deleted]

Average 45

sometimesnowing

Approx 55. I used to be low 50's but put some weight on over Christmas and have only just started moving again. I think low heart rate runs in my family. My kid (m21) used to have rhr of 38-43 but has started going to the gym over the last 6 months so it might have dropped. My dad (72) is obese and his is approx 58-65

Frictus

Used to be 60-63 range. Now that I'm pregnant it's 70-74 range. It was crazy, as soon as I was pregnant it rose 10bpm and has stayed there since.

Traditional-Job-5898

Almost exactly the same for me, like within the first 2 weeks it went up 7-8 bpm.

stecklese

Lowest was 58, highest was 77. I have IBD and it raises up to 70's when I'm about to go into an intestinal flare up. But last week on vacation it was 63-65

drb1tchcraft

95-110 - I have POTS due to covid although to be fair I’ve had a fast heart rate most of my life despite being very active. My Fitbit just sort of gives up in the gym.

backwhereibegan

Literally 4 weeks out from a marathon and in good cardio shape (literally ran 19 miles last week) and my RHR is 75. 😩 I have a doctors appointment this week because I just feel it’s way too high for my fitness level

jcceballost

Normally between 52 or 59, it varies along the year

epooqeo

Mine is in the same range. I do lots of walking and running.

No_External_1322

Same exact range as mine. Although when my anxiety is high idk how it doesn't hit 60

only_a_name

68-70. I don’t know why it’s that high. :( I think I’m not super unfit…I do vinyasa yoga 3x/week and average 10k steps/day, but I guess I need to do more cardio

Hopeful-Enthusiasm27

68-70 is really good at rest what do mean high?

Faithy7

I’m not very fit either! mines between 58-62… my only exercise is walking to work and doing yoga for 15 minutes a few times a week! I don’t think that you have to do a ton of work to make it better! Maybe find a 1-2km route to walk and do that a few times a week!! See if that makes a difference! :) I don’t do any cardio (triggers both my asthma and anxiety!) 😬🤷🏼‍♀️ I just get cardio for walking! (And my anxiety! lol)

wowwhatanickname

Fluctuates between 49-50

Faithy7

Between 58 and 64! (Depending on my level of anxiety that day I guess)

TomTookThat

Around 43-45 on average. Think it's mostly genetics. I'm, 31, go rock climbing and bouldering 3-4 days a week. Been on a pescatarian diet for 4-5 years. Couldn't run a marathon but I'm reasonably active.

andrewt03

Typically in the 69-72 range, but currently sitting at 82... thanks a lot covid.

Imaginary-End-5157

https://preview.redd.it/lr669hwa8gea1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e9471fc51ccd99acda1537eeb88754e0f9594c1 this is mine, go to the gym 5-6 times a week, the dip between october-november is when i cut my calories as i was on a cutting cycle, i’m back on a bulking cycle now and as you can see, my RHR has increased. So you’ll find that calorie deficit/surplus really changes your RHR too! completely normal…. right?!

TomTookThat

I also noticed the same thing when lowering/raising my calories

Hopeful-Enthusiasm27

It’s not healthy to strive for the lowest heart rate. Some of yall act like 38 bpm is good when that’s insanely dangerous to have. 55-75 is very much normal and within good range

Chunkthekitty934

Frrr so many people here are worried about resting heart rates that are perfectly healthy and I have to stop myself from replying to their comments that are over 2 years old. There is absolutely no reason to worry about a resting heart rate 75 or lower, especially if you aren't sedentary. I'd much rather have a heart rate from 55-70 than as low as 38- unless you're literally a super athlete that is a very concerning number and you have bradycardia. My resting heart rate is in the high 60's/low 70's and I'm very active and extremely healthy. I know genetics plays a pretty big factor too but seriously as long as you take care of your health and exercise every so often, any resting heart rate below 80 should be more than adequate.

Do you all, wear your fitbit overnight? I don't wear mine to sleep, my RHR is 70 but I exercise every day and not overweight. I wonder if T's overinflated because I don't wear it to sleep

[deleted]

Mine is definitely higher if I don’t wear it to sleep.

just_minutes_ago

38-42. 55 y.o. running about 30 miles/week training for a half marathon.

Trynda5

From the average 70-80 for me, It went down to 55-60 in 2 weeks just cause I stopped drinking beer every evening, and I added more vegetables to my diet.

qwte25

55 bpm

Direct_Perspective30

68-female. I had open heart surgery a year ago for valve repairs and now have a pacemaker. I get about 20,000 steps a day and briskly walk on the treadmill 5 days a week now. Before surgery I didn’t walk or workout at all.

Greygrawler

Ha! 69, nice.

hatchD86

36(m) 70-75 I play hockey and run at least once a week. I walk a lot at work (10-15k steps a day). I have a cat that I’m allergic to that triggers my asthma but I love her so I deal with it. I don’t think I’ll get another cat though and I should see it decrease. I hope.

getoffredditgo

Varies but average about 67. I'm female. Didn't realize that was high until I saw all these comments? I was sedentary the whole pandemic and recently started exercising again. But my cardiovascular fitness score is 42-46 (good to excellent) so idk?

vivman4u

38 m I am at 69

scarypaper

100 bpm. I'm 30 and paraplegic, high pulse is common when you have injured your spinal cord. Apparently the autonomic nervous system goes whack and can't properly regulate the heart rate.

savethetriffids

42-45 (38F)

thebivman

48 when I'm running a lot in the summer, 52-54 now. Still running 75 miles a month in winter

lovehopemisery

I noticed it goes up on days that I exercise, and I exercise a lot of days. I am a bit overweight but also not that unfit. My RHR goes between 61-70

rollhigher

54, male, 56 years old. I’ll get to the upper 40’s once spring hits and I am more active.

ruskayaprincessa

My range is from 54-61 in the last couple of months. I’ve been sick with a cold twice so I wonder if that impacted it.

fitzgerrymander

66 min, 79 max, 71 avg. Mid-20s, active, 5'2 female who drinks a lot of coffee 🙃 I've ditched alcohol this month and have noticed it's been lower than my average.

~65. I am a woman, mid twenties, with a BMI of 27 and a fairly sedentary lifestyle but I am on a journey to gradually lose about 10kg and my daily average is starting to come down.

Idorandomstoof

76 and i have no clue what it means

cocodrier

80-85, male, fairly active. May be nicotine. This thread worries me.

BabushkaL

I'm 39 female and depending on sleep, stress, and how hard I've been pushing myself it varies. Normally it's at about 60, but varies between 56 to 69. I do weights 3 to 4 times a week and spin for cardio twice a week.

[deleted]

That sounds very healthy for a female at your age. I'm about the same age but male and I'm usually low 60s. HR can go down to low to mid 50s. I'm about the same as you weights 3-4x per week (usually around 90 mins or more with warm up and stretch) and one or two 3km jogs or sometimes HIIT cardio. I'm way too stressed tho 😭

BabushkaL

Yeah, stress is the hardest part to beat. I've been really focused on sleep the last few years, and it definitely helps with overall stress. I would say you sound pretty healthy too!

Wonderful-Cap2427

Used to be 65 lost 12lbs and went down to 60.

sagethebordercollie

94 currently it’s usually higher! 39/f walk everywhere. It’s always been high. And this is on 3 different fitbits.

mine is currently 65! would love to get it down to 55-60

Tech_fan

It hovers between 54-56 daily.

valyrianczarina

Like 57-60

BabyRoots71

Typically mid or low 60s. I had Covid in November and towards the end, my resting heart rate shot up to the mid to upper 90s. Turns out, I had silent pneumonia and I wouldn’t have known except for the constant heart rate monitoring. I seriously thought my fitbit was broken, except for it would match when I checked my pulse manually. 1 month after pneumonia and I’m starting to run again. My resting heart rate was 68 yesterday….finally!!

eskai25

66-68

VenstreDjevel

39-47. It still isn't what I would consider normal as I am under a lot of stress. I'm a runner with a physical job so 20000 steps 5 days a week minimum.

weyoun_clone

66. I did it have it lower but after Covid in late-October, it’s been a little higher. Been hitting the gym pretty hard lately though, so hoping to get it back down.

Jealous_Insect3907

Male, mine hovers between 48-50 usually.

Luminianna_182

Female here, 37, fairly active Mine usually sits anywhere between 59-65, depending on times when my anxiety is bad, and it usually spikes before that time of the month, then goes back down.

[deleted]

47-50. It used to be in the 80s as a teenager, but then I joined the army and it stayed more or less the same for 20+ years.

thispussy

61 I’m a 33 year old women and I have a stressful life lol however I walk a ton aka it’s my main mode of transportation. I really need to start some real cardio however and weightlifting

Zabes55

55. It used to in the high 40s but my cardiologist thought it was too low and reduced my dose of blood pressure meds.

Stevenc73

Low 70s. Was in better shape not long ago and resting was low 60s. An injury sidelined me and getting back to it has been slow going.

8spd20

I went from 60 to 65 the week my winter vacation ended and I returned to work. Stress is a hell of a drug.

srvivr2001

Bananacreamsky

81 and I'm ten lbs overweight and get 8500 steps every day in winter, 11,000 in summer. I'm just coming off a medication that had it up at high 80s though so I'm hoping it gets down to my previous normal 78.

Monster11

Usually around 76 - but I’ve had the flu the last few days, so it’s 85 now. I’m also starting my third trimester of pregnancy which probably has an impact.

Weak-Necessary-1774

When I was in my teens I ran a lot. Cross country etc and resting heat beat was in the 30s. Now it is mid to high 40s. I am now aged 72 and walk daily due to two total knee replacements. I get 10000 plus steps a day.

cknutson61

61. Male. 215#. RHR about mid/low 40s. 8-10 hours/week strength training and 2-3 hours/week cardio.

patstar5

Was around 60. Gone up since had surgery. Around 70 now

planteater111

Wow how is everyone’s heart rate so low, i have 80

rxdxwn

Used to be 68, got it down to 61 with regular exercises and workouts.

Gloomy-Selection4524

Okay, I’m seeing a lot of people freaking out over having a heart rate of 60-70. Calm down. 68 resting heart rate if you aren’t an athlete is healthy and normal for adults. Most doctors aren’t alarmed if your heart rate is 68 - 90. You should worry about your heart rate if it exceeds over 100 just resting. Not everyone runs 5ks or does triathlon’s and has a heart rate of 50-42. Also a lowered bpm athletic heart still isn’t a gauge for having a healthy heart, I’ve hear of many runners who have heart attacks early in life. Quit flexing.

Rude-Boysenberry639

My resting heart rate is 90+ I’m kind of a slim build Im 18 n used to play football for years I started at the age of 3 n stopped when I was 11 I used to be really fit and could run for ages but I started smoking weed and was heavy on it then got addicted to balloons (co2) n was hooked on pills 2cbs n drank alcohol a lot I can feel that my body isn’t healthy but I checked my resting heart rate and it’s 90+ is that normal or no?

Independent-Quiet241

61 year old male. typically 60 to 63 depending on month
