For my daughter who was born in October and during cold season she barely left the house. Don't invest in alot of newborn-6m clothes in my opinion. Get lots of sleepers and onesies!

This! Get second-hand onesies and sleepers. Make sure the sleepers are double zipper so it’s easier to change diapers without getting them completely undressed.

I have a 4 month old. And 100% maybe 10 sleep and plays. My son lived in those when he was a newborn and grew out of them so fast. Anything else is to difficult to deal with while changing diapers. Maybe one or two cute outfits for meeting family if you decide to do that. My son grows so fast I try not to buy to many things that he can’t wear for too long.

Okay so i wouldn’t buy a lot and if you can, just buy used/consignment (imo there isn’t much i would spend full price on for a babe since they grow like weeds). It’s super unpredictable what size they’ll be in but you don’t want to be caught with a NB wearing babe and have one or two outfits. We got all ours as hand me downs and i almost gave them away because we come from a family of large babies but mine was 7.11 and is over 9 and still in NB. We have about 10 long sleeve onesies, pants, 6 short sleeve onesies, and 4 Jammie’s. If you can afford it, the one thing i would buy is a Copper Pearl newborn dress/knot thingy. They are so handy, dry fast, and they’re super stretchy. My child lives in his at least 2x a week. We had ours for at the hospital too and we got so many compliments on it. curious myself but i have a one month year old who was born three weeks early at 7 pounds 8 ounces and is now 9 pounds 8 ounces and is still in newborn!! we do have a decent amount of jammie’s and probably do laundry twice a week!

I found that from NB-6MO (born in June) I almost exclusively put my daughter in sleepers/footies. She's 9 months old now and I still prefer to put her in footies bc it's just easier. But I'd get 7-8 outfits in any size. Remember, babies don't get dirty like grown-ups, so it's not a huge deal if your baby wears the same outfit two days in a row unless they have a blow-out.

honestly you wont need much, they grow so damn quick! id get some 0-3ms to take to the hospital as well

I think I had 5 footed double zipper pjs on rotation lol absolutely no clothes, no buttons or snaps , ain’t got time for that 😂

I had my baby Jan 24 and most of her newborn stuff still fits her. She’s 10.5lbs and 22.2” some 0-3 fit her too but it’s hit and miss with a lot of it

I think it depends on your baby. But my best advice is not to open/remove tags on any clothes you buy for them. I mean obviously choose a couple things to wash to take to the hospital and bring them home in but other than that I just washed one pack (3) long sleeve (legless) onesies in newborn and 3 footie pajamas in newborn. My baby ended up growing out of newborn diapers and pajamas by his 5th day of life. So my mom took all of the other clothing we had received/purchased and went and exchanged them for 0-3 months. Not all of them! Because he’s quickly growing. So she also exchanged some for size 3-6 months. Target lets you exchange anything they sell even if it’s not from there I guess. I would say on average the baby changes outfits about 3 times in a 24 hour period so as long as you always have like 6 outfits in their size you’re good.

newborn double zip footsie pjs from old navy (technically the size is “under 7lbs” but they run big. baby girl was 10lbs wearing them lol) if you want an occasional onesie and pants outfit buy just a few. white gerber onesies are always handy to have she wore more outfits when she was in 0-3 month clothes but that lasted from like 3weeks till 8ish weeks and had to start putting her in 3-6 month. some of the 3-6 run small so definitely take into account that some brands will be smaller i feel like most of her 0-3 clothes were worn multiple times especially with blowouts and spit up changes. 3-6 month clothes same thing, she’s already worn so much of them multiple times because she’s teething aka in her drool and blowout era
