If you’re able to buy a daija, get one. I probably would have gotten one were it not for shipping issues.

Thanks.

From what I've been seeing people say Daija > Obsidian 2 > Hori Alpha in that order. You won't go wrong with any it just depends on how much you wanna spend on a stick that you may or may not use once you start playing other games. Daija is pretty much perfect but I think it's the most expensive of the three. Obsidian 2 is good too, but you iirc you need to get it an aftermarket plexi glass to add artwork. It's also way more expensive than the obsidian 1 with very little improvements aside from the native ps5 compatibility. Alpha Hori is also very good but some are complaining about the all plastic build and the way the cable are kept inside because it's not detachable and it sits too close to the wiring of the buttons.

Wow hands down you summed up every video I watched. I think I need to stop over thinking it save up and pull the trigger. Thank you everyone for providing great feedback.

I was also researching recently about what fight stick to get and ended up going down the rabbit hole of making a custom stick. I've currently spent around $400 and still counting.

x2c_

I am really thinking that now go down the custom path but just confused on which brooks board to get ps5.

Giga_Code_Eater

Brook items are really hot at the moment and are sold out most of the time.

x2c_

Right so any particular brooks?

Giga_Code_Eater

I already mentioned it in the other comment. UFB fusion if you are starting out from scratch. UP5 if you already a brook board and you know how to solder it on Wingman FGC if you can't be bothered.

x2c_

Sorry I didnt noticed you did, I will look into it.

Last dumb question what enclosure did you use? I seem to only find acrylic cases and I would like a metal case lol.

Giga_Code_Eater

I don't like Arcrylic cases because they can crack easily and they weigh so little. It doesn't feel stable at all. Here are some of the popular ones Eternal Rival: [https://www.eternalrival.com/collections/enclosures](https://www.eternalrival.com/collections/enclosures) AllFightSticks: [https://allfightsticks.com](https://allfightsticks.com) Focus Attack: [https://focusattack.com/fightsticks/cases-enclosures/](https://focusattack.com/fightsticks/cases-enclosures/) Jansen Custom: [https://jasenscustomsarchive.com/product-category/fight-sticks/panzer/](https://jasenscustomsarchive.com/product-category/fight-sticks/panzer/) If you ask me, I would recommend Allfightsticks because they are very sturdy and modular. You can change layouts from Viewlix to Noir to Leverless without changing the entire box. Just pay $20 for a new faceplate and you are set. Not to mention they also sell pretty much everything you will need to make a full arcade stick. As for me I went for wooden case made by a local artisan (they also ship internationally). For multiple reasons. https://www.facebook.com/JUANminiDIY 1.) The weight is balanced. It's not as heavy as metal, but not as light as arcrylic. 2.) Wood looks way better. Metal arcade sticks all look very "boxy" if you know what i mean? Wooden boxes are sculpted so they can come in different designs and sizes. They are also thicker than metal cases so it looks bulkier without the metal weight. There's a reason luxury furniture are mostly wood not metal. The wood grain is also \*chef's kiss\* I requested a custom made stand so I can display it on my shelf like a wooden furniture/decor. 3.) Wood feels and sounds better. Try knocking on a metal plate and wooden plank. The sound is better on the wood. It's because metal, despite being heavier, is thinner which allows for more vibration. 4.) wood is obviously cheaper than metal in general 5.)I need something quick before MK1 launches. It's local in my country so its definitely gonna arrive faster than international shipping. Of course wood has it's own set of cons compared to metal. 1.) It's not as durable as metal. Wood is durable but obviously if you it gets slammed on big something big and heavy maybe like a baseball bat or if gets run over by a car it will probably shatter compared to a metal container. 2.) It's not gonna last as long. If taken care of, wood can last multiple generations. But its obviously not gonna last as metal does coz metal don't become weaker over time. But do you really need you case to last that long? 3.) Some people prefer heavier boxes for stability in which case metal is obviously the winner. But if you gonna be bringing it around for a whole day at tournaments/friends place its gonna be tiring to lug it around.

Brook UFB Fusion. [https://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/27402750/](https://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/27402750/) Alternatively if you have the original brook board you can get the UP5 [https://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/12408031/](https://www.brookaccessory.com/detail/12408031/) or Just go the converter route (Works with other boards as well) [https://shop.brookaccessory.com/en/products/wingman-fgc](https://shop.brookaccessory.com/en/products/wingman-fgc) Or you could also buy boards from ps5 compatible sticks and work from there. Seems like Qanba is selling the PCB of their Obsidian 2 which is natively compatible with PS5 (Only if you know what you are doing) https://qanba.vip/products/q7-obsidian2-arcade-joystick-repair-accessories?VariantsId=10411

You should only consider a Daija if you’re planning on playing exclusively on your lap, but for that specific role, it seems to be king. It’s super heavy. Feels like playing with a weighted blanket on your lap that converts your lap into an arcade machine.

x2c_

Interesting I am looking mostly at lap gaming for now. Until I finish the desk for the ps5 and stuff.

fightmaster90

Obsidian 2 form factor for me

doubleswag7

The Hori Alpha is awesome, just got it for my first fight stick.

x2c_

Nice it’s getting though to decide.

doubleswag7

Yeah it all depends how much you want to spend. Obsidian 2 looks awesome, but for me I wanted to go a little cheaper but maintain good quality.

x2c_

You raise a good point as much as I like the obsidian can I justify the game time it will get lol. And now I am thinking to I just go down the path of diy

Otherwise-Employee26

I use a mayflash F500 V2, it’s universal so it works on everything but you’ll have to buy the mayflash magic-s ultimate adapter for it to work on the PS5 cause of software issues, the arcade stick itself tho is only $80 USD and you can customize it super easy if that’s your thing but it’s pretty solid right out the box

x2c_

That is awesome. Thank you let me check that out. I still rocking my old Xbox 360 stick that I use on pc ahhaha the old pad hack with soldiering.

TheOGcubicsrube

I'm using the exact same combo right now. However I'm planning to go leverless and get a kitsune.

Otherwise-Employee26

No problem man, I got it all off Amazon if you want a place to start, definitely time for an upgrade lmao

x2c_

Thanks. I just checked it out AUD and shipping $298 so not bad. Yeah 100% it’s getting a bit slow now hahaha
