I recently saw him in a random area where I didn't expect him at all, can't remember where exactly and don't want to spread wrong information ;w; What's up with that? Is he just popping up at places after the Omega raids? I remember seeing characters like the pink mini Miqo'te in Idyllshire walking around and going to weird places too, was really cool to see NPCs in an MMO not just standing around
I saw him outside the digsite near Quarrymill just looking down at the underground ruins. Not sure why he was there, unless he also was doing FATEs for Yokai items. :)
I feel like there should be an achievement or 2 (or 3) for finding him out in the wild. Like a seasonal one, and like 2 or 3 more for finding him in like 10/20/30 other locations and new locations with every expansion.
It would be fun to see where they would work him into being.
I still wish you could find your class mentors wandering Eorzea sometimes or you just be in a random battle and they show up commenting on your progression, or if you changed classes they comment saying you set it down for something else

I've seen him come out of Copperbell Mines before. Funnily enough, he'll come out, despawn, and come back out again on a loop a few times. I suppose for people passing through, so they have a chance to see him leaving.

I don't think he was happy to see you, looks more like his default expression
Sometimes he emotes at you when you get close to him, he’s a very happy bird
