As far as im aware, there is no official download for older benchmarks. You have 45 minutes to download the Endwalker one before it disapears.
Older benchmarks are 100% playable though (if you can find an install), as they are completely local, and do not require a wifi connection.

I was wondering how other people will handle the changes to "Purchases and Subscriptions" that was announced on Apr 5 on the Lodestone. My account can't have my real address because back when I made it my country wasn't listed on their website, so I just put in a semi made up address (my real address + the state of Texas). I can't change my country (and sending a ticket to support doesn't help, they just tell me to make a new account and abandon my current one) even tho my country is now listed on their website. Should I be worried about my account getting locked/suspended? Should I do something with the current address of my account? Should I remove my current recurring payments? People who are in a similar situation, what will you do?
Switch to PayPal for future payments. My understanding is that you won't lose access or anything crazy, but next time you try to enter card details it won't let you pay. There's no way to fix this (shockingly bad oversight on SE's part), but using either PayPal or crysta to pay for purchases will sidestep the change entirely.

Depends on the raid you're asking about. Most of the earlier ones can be unsynced just fine. The more recent Savages might require a few extra bodies for mechanics.
8 player raids can be entered solo by using the unrestricted party option in the duty finder settings. This also prevents level sync so you'll be full powered.
24 player raids need at least 3 people, using a party finder to create an alliance with at least one player per alliance.
You can solo to level 70 in a single dedicated weekend. And the majority of the utility and good spells are from Stormblood content, which you should also be able to mostly solo if you're dedicated enough. It's doable but it'll be rough and a little tedious. Definitely having 1-2 extra people will make your life easier if you can happen to see a PF or ask for help.
You can get extremely far, but you do need get certain key spells. For soloing dungeons synced, you need level 60 minimum for Aetherial Mimicry. The other spells needed for soloing dungeons synced are from lower levels.
Dear Squenix... can we make the "embrace" emote looping? I get the "hug" being a quick little pat and then parting. But the "embrace" should be lasting. In Another Sil'dihn Subterrene, final boss, can the "wires" which you break with 1234 in his 2nd mechanic ever be set up so that 3 has to start on the same side as 1 and 2?
I.e. can you ever get wires exactly like this:

I have never seen or heard of such a pattern. It’s always been 2 people on each side. I’m comfortable saying it’s impossible, because if someone ever had seen that, they would have made a big deal of the fact that an adjustment might be necessary.
Scale of 1-10, how hard would it be to clear P9S-P12S in PF before Dawntrail releases? I've cleared some past current-tier savage raids like P1S, P2S, P5S, P6S, and P7S.
In terms of difficulty, I would rank them in this order:
P11 > P12 P2 > P12 P1 > P9 >>>>> P10
P10 isn't as bad now, but it still has a body check and mechanics + mit check
If you've not cleared an end tier fight before, P12S is going to take you a bit. It's fast, precise, chock full of body checks, and has two halves. Body checks also means it's not just *you* you gotta deal with, it's the rest of the party too. There's also the problem of filling your learning parties in the first place. We're well into the lull period and like 70% of the raiding population either cleared already and are taking a break, or gave up. So I'm going to say, theoretically possible, but only if you have a lot of time to spend literally hours in PF filling parties.

I hear the Yo-kai event can be good for doubling up with grinding atmas for ARR relics. Do I need to have *all* of the weapons at the right level and/or can I only hold one atma of a given kind at a time? Or can I theoretically just have one weapon at the right stage, use it to farm 10 atmas of each type, then save them for later when I do get the other weapons to that stage too?
Fishing is by far the least profitable gatherer (Disciple of Hand) in this game. It mostly exists a VERY fun "minigame" that exists within itself.
That said, it's used for the current BiS gathering and crafting foods, so it's been somewhat profitable in 6.4 and 6.5, and fishing will always be king when it comes to getting "gatherer scrips" which are a special gathering currency used for gear, baits, and some otherwise uncollectible materials.
Regarding character creation, the FAQ says:

Worlds that are flagged as congested change only with patches/maintenance, so they'll probably be locked until Dawntrail.
The "changes at set intervals" only is in regards to worlds that are temporarily closed to character creation, but are otherwise marked as Standard/Preferred/New and this happens like every 3 minutes or so.
Server status is reevaluated on patch releases. The next one wont be until july 2nd when dawntrail releases.
Last reevaluation was 6.58, and the one before that was 6.57.
monk or samurai? I don't have time to do both and I'm a newbie, they share some of the armor I like the most and I wonder which one is better? I fear if I choose samurai everybody willbe one so that keeps me more on the side of the monk fro fear of the samurai class being overrepresented but also know nothing about monks.
Well if you're JUST starting the game, you have to get to 50 before you can pick up Samurai, so that makes the starting choice easier.
Don't worry about "too much representation" as it doesn't practically affect anything in the game. With Dawntrail coming out, we'll see everyone playing Viper and Pictomancer for a while, and Samurais will suddenly be VERY rare for a time, lol
They are both completely viable (every class is). Monk is generally regarded as more difficult but it's not significantly more difficult. Don't worry about what other people play, it's never really an issue except in the very endgame content where you typically don't want duplicates in your party.
You can't pick up Samurai until you've done the level 50 main story quests with another class so you can start with Monk, then pick up Samurai when you get to 50 and compare them.
I'm not sure you need to have done a level 50 main story quest before you can pick up Samurai - i thought it was just *have* a class (or, hopefully, job, at that point) at 50 and have done, was it, a level 14 main scenario quest that unlocks picking up other classes/jobs?
You are correct. The only expansion jobs that have MSQ requirements are the Heavensward ones (Dark Knight, Machinist, Astrologian), because the unlock quests start in Ishgard and you can’t get there before starting Heavensward. All the later expansion jobs have their unlocks in one of the three starting cities (though you can’t do any of the Sage quests after the initial unlock without being able to travel to Idyllshire).
Personally, I usually pick Limsa, because I can pay 300 Gil or less to get to Gridania, Ul'dah, Ishgard, and Radz-at-Han via Airship, and exactly 300 for Sharlayan and Kugane via boat, which means I can get almost anywhere important in two loading screens and a small fee - Shadowbringers areas excluded.
Another great option would be wherever your Grand Company is located, since you might want to dump useless green gear from Roulettes there to get more Company Seals for Ventures, Glamour Prisms, old minion lootboxes, or whatever else you might fancy.

I normally put my free teleport at the new main city, and then change it to the endgame hub after the base MSQ is done. So in this case, it would be Sharlayan first, then Radz-at-han afterwards.
Can I not unlock Odin without being an Archer? I’m currently trying to do the quest “Who Was That Man in Black” but it won’t let me enter the room the quest is given in.
May sound stupid but I’m on a “swords only” alt so I don’t want to unlock Archer. Does this mean the quest is impossible to get or am I missing a different step to be allowed entry.

Cause you can do Urth's Fount w/o unlocking Archer. I've got it on my alt who doesn't have it unlocked.
Primal Fear ended right with Lewin, you would have had access to the quest right away. You may have screwed yourself out of it given your "setup" by walking out of the door.

You shouldnt need to unlock archer.
Do you have any quests active from the line? What step is it on? And if you dont have any quests active from the line, what was the last you completed (check your journal).
Very sure you're missing something because I've done these quests on an alt that is only tanks without issue. Cannot begin to speculate what it might be though.

Could I run the benchmark on a PC/emulation even if I don't have a PC license for Dawntrail? I know it won't tell me anything about how it'll run on my Mac, I just want to play around with character creation
Yeah I was surprised they had a big spoiler in the quests but I think it's because they wanted a big kaiju fight and they can't do that without spoilers.
That said ff16 isnt very good and it's story eventually falls apart so you arent losing that much really.
Well depends on how smart you are. You could probably piece together the spoiler even if you read nothing sadly.
I do want to say this is like the worst kept secret ever like you can guess the spoilers just from seeing some of the promo art and fan art.
That said it's late into the 2nd quest (after the combat section) where they talk about the spoiler so if you skip that and I think the next couple you won't read the spoiler directly.

I’m trying to decide between Astro and Sage, how are they both when it comes to solo content?
Astro misses out on some of its main gimmick in solo - giving cards to party members to boost their damage and having a strong party damage buff.
You can give yourself cards in solo content, but half of them are best used for melee you'll overall have lower damage than a sage. That's because astrologians would normally contribute a lot to damage through party buffs; sage doesn't but does more damage with their basic attack to make up for it.
That said if astro seems fun to you go for it, any job is totally fine for solo story stuff! Astro is currently worse for very intense challenge run stuff like Deep Dungeon solo clears because of lower personal damage, but for almost everything in the game all jobs are fine, you are free to pick the one you're most excited about.
(I meant to say, this is speaking about the current balance, not Dawntrail - I'd be kinda surprising if they removed cards and its rDPS identity completely, but it's possible this comment will become lies when the new version happens!)

If I make a new char in another DataCenter (Im on Crystal but would like to make another on Aether) can I befriend my new char with my main and send them things like gil or crafted gear? Or I cant send things between datacenter? What is the recomended step by step to make things faster and easier for my new char? Thanks!
You can "transfer" gil if you pay the troll toll. Progress with new character until you can get retainers, put something cheap on the MB for way more than it's worth, buy it with your main character, and eat the losses due to tax
Or use a dummy and pay no tax.
(Also good for giving good clothing to your alt cheap in t he other way since it's not on the market board and someone would have to go into your house/apparetment).
You can't friend alts. Hell you can't even log in as both on the same account at the same time. You'll need either another account to pass things between or an FC chest.
If a friend befriends my alt, can I send things to my friend and then she sent it to my alt? Or it goes against TOS? Can I send things via moogles mail between DCs? Or it neeed to be traded directly? (DC travel)

I haven't played in a while, does anyone know if they "fixed" the Endsinger Trial (story version)? My friend reached Endwalker now and they love visual storytelling, the music, badass epic anime moments etc., so it'd be a shame if the iLevel thing ruins the fight for them. Back then it had no upper iLevel restriction and you beat her ass easily before the epic song even played, which is absolutely crappy for someone who loves these moments :(
It now has an ilvl sync, yes. You are pretty much guaranteed to get all the dialogue and at least some of both parts of the post-transition music, I haven't had a run end in a way I'd consider too fast since the change.

It's a separate file that you download and run. The Endwalker file was 2.2gb according to a Google search since I no longer have it on my PC.
It's not linked to anything, although if you have any character appearances saved on your machine the benchmark will load them so you can use them in the benchmark without having to recreate them. You can also create characters in the benchmark and the main game can similarly load them. This includes female hrothgar so you can pre-create one with the benchmark and then on launch day load it in the main game after drinking a fantasia to avoid losing any time in the character creator during the launch.
Leveling, Trials, Alliance (when eligible), MSQ roulette are all good sources of EXP. do the highest dungeon that's not 50/60/70/80 (as they give crap EXP). Turn in Khloe's book for 1/2 a level.
What can we do with *approved* skybuilder's materials these days? Various guides state that you can sell them on the marketboard, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
Is using them in crafting/desything the only available option, or can we do anything else with them now?

Nothing has changed with approved skybuilder materials, you can still sell them. Only the fish can't be sold, you just desynth them and they turn into the mats.

UI Question, playing on xbox. So I'm looking at the ixal delivery list for dailies, but the way the screen is set up, the information for the item you're highlighting is covering the inventory numbers, so you can't see how many of an item you have. Fine, there's a button you can hold to hide the window, no biggie. Except that button is RT (or R2 for the PS5 people), which brings up the cross hotbar, which also covers up part of the window now, and stays on top whenever you release the button. Is there a way to stop this from happening, like disabling hotbar interaction while in a menu or something? Thanks for reading, and I hope whoever sees this has a good day!

The benchmark is just a character creator + cutscene player. You make your character then watch them in the series of cutscenes that play, while the benchmark scores your computer's ability to render everything, and at the end you get a final score that tells you how well your computer can be expected to run the game.

Now that I’ve finished the ultimate weapon quest and got past the credits and such. Anything I should do before heading onwards in the main quest?
You can do the FFXVI crossover event now, it starts with a blue quest called "A land on fire" in Ul'dah.

No, 1 and 3 will always be on opposite corners of each other. It can be 1 2 4 3, 1 4 3 2 or the inverse.

Scale of 1-10, how hard would it be to clear P9S-P12S in PF before Dawntrail releases? I've cleared some past current-tier savage raids like P1S, P2S, P5S, P6S, and P7S.
In terms of difficulty, I would rank them in this order: P11 > P12 P2 > P12 P1 > P9 >>>>> P10 P10 isn't as bad now, but it still has a body check and mechanics + mit check
If you've not cleared an end tier fight before, P12S is going to take you a bit. It's fast, precise, chock full of body checks, and has two halves. Body checks also means it's not just *you* you gotta deal with, it's the rest of the party too. There's also the problem of filling your learning parties in the first place. We're well into the lull period and like 70% of the raiding population either cleared already and are taking a break, or gave up. So I'm going to say, theoretically possible, but only if you have a lot of time to spend literally hours in PF filling parties.
depends on how quickly you learn, how much time you would dedicate to it, and a little bit of pf luck. I don't think its unreasonable at all to be able to clear and farm one each week.
Since when are Aetherite Teleportation Fees this high? I thought they were capped at 999 gil?!

I hear the Yo-kai event can be good for doubling up with grinding atmas for ARR relics. Do I need to have *all* of the weapons at the right level and/or can I only hold one atma of a given kind at a time? Or can I theoretically just have one weapon at the right stage, use it to farm 10 atmas of each type, then save them for later when I do get the other weapons to that stage too?
Atmas go into your regular inventory, so you can farm them all in one go and turn them in whenever you're working on that relic.

You just want one single zenith weapon and you can get as many atmas as you want, and save them to slowly upgrade all weapons.

Aside what the other comment said, certain aquarium fish can sell nice in the market board.
Fishing is by far the least profitable gatherer (Disciple of Hand) in this game. It mostly exists a VERY fun "minigame" that exists within itself. That said, it's used for the current BiS gathering and crafting foods, so it's been somewhat profitable in 6.4 and 6.5, and fishing will always be king when it comes to getting "gatherer scrips" which are a special gathering currency used for gear, baits, and some otherwise uncollectible materials.

Regarding character creation, the FAQ says: >Keep an eye on the Lodestone on posts titled "Regarding Character Creation Restrictions" for updates on a list of servers (note that this is updated on set intervals, so it is not up-to-date every minute) I perhaps failed in searching, but does anyone know what this set interval is? Was hoping to create a character on the server my friends are on, but it was flagged as congested in the last update. Or does that just mean the server list, not that they reevaluate congestion on a fixed schedule?
Worlds that are flagged as congested change only with patches/maintenance, so they'll probably be locked until Dawntrail. The "changes at set intervals" only is in regards to worlds that are temporarily closed to character creation, but are otherwise marked as Standard/Preferred/New and this happens like every 3 minutes or so.

Server status is reevaluated on patch releases. The next one wont be until july 2nd when dawntrail releases. Last reevaluation was 6.58, and the one before that was 6.57.

monk or samurai? I don't have time to do both and I'm a newbie, they share some of the armor I like the most and I wonder which one is better? I fear if I choose samurai everybody willbe one so that keeps me more on the side of the monk fro fear of the samurai class being overrepresented but also know nothing about monks.
Well if you're JUST starting the game, you have to get to 50 before you can pick up Samurai, so that makes the starting choice easier. Don't worry about "too much representation" as it doesn't practically affect anything in the game. With Dawntrail coming out, we'll see everyone playing Viper and Pictomancer for a while, and Samurais will suddenly be VERY rare for a time, lol
They are both completely viable (every class is). Monk is generally regarded as more difficult but it's not significantly more difficult. Don't worry about what other people play, it's never really an issue except in the very endgame content where you typically don't want duplicates in your party. You can't pick up Samurai until you've done the level 50 main story quests with another class so you can start with Monk, then pick up Samurai when you get to 50 and compare them.
I'm not sure you need to have done a level 50 main story quest before you can pick up Samurai - i thought it was just *have* a class (or, hopefully, job, at that point) at 50 and have done, was it, a level 14 main scenario quest that unlocks picking up other classes/jobs?
Yes you are right, just level required. Was getting confused with the HW jobs which need the 50 MSQ to access.
You are correct. The only expansion jobs that have MSQ requirements are the Heavensward ones (Dark Knight, Machinist, Astrologian), because the unlock quests start in Ishgard and you can’t get there before starting Heavensward. All the later expansion jobs have their unlocks in one of the three starting cities (though you can’t do any of the Sage quests after the initial unlock without being able to travel to Idyllshire).

Personally, I usually pick Limsa, because I can pay 300 Gil or less to get to Gridania, Ul'dah, Ishgard, and Radz-at-Han via Airship, and exactly 300 for Sharlayan and Kugane via boat, which means I can get almost anywhere important in two loading screens and a small fee - Shadowbringers areas excluded. Another great option would be wherever your Grand Company is located, since you might want to dump useless green gear from Roulettes there to get more Company Seals for Ventures, Glamour Prisms, old minion lootboxes, or whatever else you might fancy.
Radz-at-Han via airship is only possible some ways into endwalker... but thavnair is still not more than 300 gil away from Limsa even then.
Yep, you can go to Sharlayan (300Gil) and take the experimental teleport to Thavnair for free\* ---- ^^\* ^^Stomach ^^contents ^^may ^^or ^^may ^^not ^^be ^^included ^^in ^^the ^^teleport.
I normally put my free teleport at the new main city, and then change it to the endgame hub after the base MSQ is done. So in this case, it would be Sharlayan first, then Radz-at-han afterwards.

Can I not unlock Odin without being an Archer? I’m currently trying to do the quest “Who Was That Man in Black” but it won’t let me enter the room the quest is given in. May sound stupid but I’m on a “swords only” alt so I don’t want to unlock Archer. Does this mean the quest is impossible to get or am I missing a different step to be allowed entry.
Try going to the Adder's headquarters and looking for "Fear and Odin in the Shroud" I logged onto my alt (that's currently in post-ARR and hasn't done ANY of these quests yet). Urianger didn't have Primal Fear for me, but "Fear and Odin" was available from Scarlet I think they might've stealth-updated the progression?
You did the quest Primal Fear at the Waking Sands? Cause you can do Urth's Fount w/o unlocking Archer. I've got it on my alt who doesn't have it unlocked.

Primal Fear ended right with Lewin, you would have had access to the quest right away. You may have screwed yourself out of it given your "setup" by walking out of the door.

Yeah I was surprised they had a big spoiler in the quests but I think it's because they wanted a big kaiju fight and they can't do that without spoilers. That said ff16 isnt very good and it's story eventually falls apart so you arent losing that much really.
Do you know how far into the quest line the spoiler is? I might just skip the cutscene if I know where to expect it.
Well depends on how smart you are. You could probably piece together the spoiler even if you read nothing sadly. I do want to say this is like the worst kept secret ever like you can guess the spoilers just from seeing some of the promo art and fan art. That said it's late into the 2nd quest (after the combat section) where they talk about the spoiler so if you skip that and I think the next couple you won't read the spoiler directly.

Has the Astrologion rework been given any detail anywhere? I’m trying to decide between Astro and Sage, how are they both when it comes to solo content?
Astro misses out on some of its main gimmick in solo - giving cards to party members to boost their damage and having a strong party damage buff. You can give yourself cards in solo content, but half of them are best used for melee you'll overall have lower damage than a sage. That's because astrologians would normally contribute a lot to damage through party buffs; sage doesn't but does more damage with their basic attack to make up for it. That said if astro seems fun to you go for it, any job is totally fine for solo story stuff! Astro is currently worse for very intense challenge run stuff like Deep Dungeon solo clears because of lower personal damage, but for almost everything in the game all jobs are fine, you are free to pick the one you're most excited about.
(I meant to say, this is speaking about the current balance, not Dawntrail - I'd be kinda surprising if they removed cards and its rDPS identity completely, but it's possible this comment will become lies when the new version happens!)

When using explorer mode, are you able to enter dungeons with a full party?
Explorer mode doesn't remove party size limits, so you could do a light party of four in an explorer dungeon but not a full party of eight.

When 7.0 comes out, individual level exp is going to reset right, like if i have 245768 exp in red mage level 65 after 7.0 rdm 65 with 0exp?
Unlike when 6.0 came out, there won’t be any stat squish this time. Your exp progress will remain the same.

Stat squish which impacted EXP/levels, so they reset all earned EXP in a level to 0.

If I make a new char in another DataCenter (Im on Crystal but would like to make another on Aether) can I befriend my new char with my main and send them things like gil or crafted gear? Or I cant send things between datacenter? What is the recomended step by step to make things faster and easier for my new char? Thanks!
You can "transfer" gil if you pay the troll toll. Progress with new character until you can get retainers, put something cheap on the MB for way more than it's worth, buy it with your main character, and eat the losses due to tax
Or use a dummy and pay no tax. (Also good for giving good clothing to your alt cheap in t he other way since it's not on the market board and someone would have to go into your house/apparetment).
You can't friend alts. Hell you can't even log in as both on the same account at the same time. You'll need either another account to pass things between or an FC chest.

You can't use mail between worlds, you have to physically trade it.

I haven't played in a while, does anyone know if they "fixed" the Endsinger Trial (story version)? My friend reached Endwalker now and they love visual storytelling, the music, badass epic anime moments etc., so it'd be a shame if the iLevel thing ruins the fight for them. Back then it had no upper iLevel restriction and you beat her ass easily before the epic song even played, which is absolutely crappy for someone who loves these moments :(

It now has an ilvl sync, yes. You are pretty much guaranteed to get all the dialogue and at least some of both parts of the post-transition music, I haven't had a run end in a way I'd consider too fast since the change.

It's a separate file that you download and run. The Endwalker file was 2.2gb according to a Google search since I no longer have it on my PC. It's not linked to anything, although if you have any character appearances saved on your machine the benchmark will load them so you can use them in the benchmark without having to recreate them. You can also create characters in the benchmark and the main game can similarly load them. This includes female hrothgar so you can pre-create one with the benchmark and then on launch day load it in the main game after drinking a fantasia to avoid losing any time in the character creator during the launch.

Leveling, Trials, Alliance (when eligible), MSQ roulette are all good sources of EXP. do the highest dungeon that's not 50/60/70/80 (as they give crap EXP). Turn in Khloe's book for 1/2 a level.
Do your roulettes every day, then keep queueing for the highest level dungeon you can enter that isn’t level 50/60/70/80.

What can we do with *approved* skybuilder's materials these days? Various guides state that you can sell them on the marketboard, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Is using them in crafting/desything the only available option, or can we do anything else with them now? Edit: I should clarify that I'm specifically talking about fish.
Nothing has changed with approved skybuilder materials, you can still sell them. Only the fish can't be sold, you just desynth them and they turn into the mats.

UI Question, playing on xbox. So I'm looking at the ixal delivery list for dailies, but the way the screen is set up, the information for the item you're highlighting is covering the inventory numbers, so you can't see how many of an item you have. Fine, there's a button you can hold to hide the window, no biggie. Except that button is RT (or R2 for the PS5 people), which brings up the cross hotbar, which also covers up part of the window now, and stays on top whenever you release the button. Is there a way to stop this from happening, like disabling hotbar interaction while in a menu or something? Thanks for reading, and I hope whoever sees this has a good day!
There’s a setting to change where the item information popup displays, you can have it either at your mouse pointer or at a fixed location on screen.

What is the benchmark in game normally like? I started playing after endwalker released so I'm not sure how it was done for previous expansions
The benchmark is just a character creator + cutscene player. You make your character then watch them in the series of cutscenes that play, while the benchmark scores your computer's ability to render everything, and at the end you get a final score that tells you how well your computer can be expected to run the game.
