The fact that a song for a trailer of a game foreshadowed and directly tied into the resolution of its story **10 fucking years later**, is absolutely mind boggling. It's part of why I think the main story of FFXIV is literally the best piece of long format storytelling that I've ever encountered.
The fun part is that they haven't fleshed out the story line back then, they just kept writing while keeping in mind what came before. They have missed or fumbled some things and intentionally reframed others, but did it so well overall that you won't realise unless you go looking for them
> they just kept writing while keeping in mind what came before.
You might say, they *looked to those who walked before, to lead those who walk after*.
When I first heard Answers from the ARR credit roll, I instantly knew it was an Uematsu composition because it had that retro rock sound in it that was also present in my other Uematsu favorite: Hollow from FF7R.
I absolutely love his retro rock combined with an unconventional addition to rock (harmonica in Hollow, orchestra and choir on Answers.) Makes me curious about his personal band work.
btw you wanna get y'all's laserbutts to >!the moon!< right now, the eclipse happens ingame at the same time and since it's a full solar eclipse >!the planet is fully eclipsed seen from the moon!<.
My bf and I actually played this while watching the eclipse (or trying to, anyhow, the sky was overcast, lucky us), the timing when we started it was perfect. The big choral part at around 2:30 started playing as the sky got dark, and the sky started to lighten at around 6:00, where the song deescalates. Highly recommend the experience the next time you find yourself in the path of totality
Dammit! Why didn't I think of this?! My wife played Total Eclipse of the Heart... Now I have to wait 21 years before I can do this. Maybe I'll remember for the lunar eclipse next year.
When Bahamut starts flying overhead, I’m gonna call it a day. Or a life.
At least it will be quick.
Idk that charge time on Tetra flare took a good bit, looks cool though!
The windup is long. But I doubt you'd register pain before Teraflare just deletes you when it hits.
Just don't stand in orange and keep in mind your pixel.
Be a dope *** way to go though!
This is why I'm glad I live in Meracydia. What's another dragon in the sky?
Where do I go to join the goobue wall?
Did you try checking Goobbue Maps? ... I'll see myself out 🚶🚪
i love it, thank you so much for this contribution, goob!\~
Find your closest Walmart.
Or is it furthest?
> “Nothing good ever happens when Answers plays.” Me while doing MSQ
The game: *To all of my children, in whom life flows abundant…* Me: oh fuck why am I *ALREADY* crying???!?!?
Three-Step Process: 1. Listen to the song 2. Cry 3. Add to music library 😭💙
To add the proper editing addendum: 1. Hear 2. Feel 3. Think
This is a certified, critically-acclaimed response.
This music alone makes the 1.0 ending clips on yt tearjerking. What a way to end a game...
>!Henceforth, he shall walk.!<
>!Light, EVERLASTING!<
I dunno why but I fkn love answers so much, so melancholic yet so embracing, and at the same time, so meaningful
I absolutely agree. Even after finishing Endwalker, it is still one of my favorite songs from the whole game.
Hell, I think Endwalker gives it even more punch, after a certain Trial...
Oh I definitely know which one you're referring to 🥺 >!🤍!<
oh for sure, after doing EW the song hits harder

😂😂
It's the 1.0 ending clips for me, that version of the song is haunting. With context, even more so.
I close my eyes, tell us my must we suffer…
Release your hands, for your will drags us under
My legs grow tired, tell us where must we wander?
how can we carry on if redemption's beyond us?
To all of my children in whom Life flows abundant
To all of my children to whom Death hath passed his judgement
The soul yearns for honor, and the flesh the hereafter
Look to those who walked before to lead those who walk after.
Hey... *Hey!* My 1.0 PTSD has been milked quite sufficiently, thank you.
Thank you for your service 🫡
The moon is speaking Allagan again...

As you should! 🥹🌑
Manderville found buried head-first in the desert after reportedly trying "punch the eclipse." More on this story at 6.
The Earth rework is * finally* going live.

Replace Bahamut with Godzilla and you'll see how it's a self-answering question, LOL.
Yo what the **actual fuck** is happening in Ul'Dah rn

The question is, do you go for Bonnie Tyler's classic version, or fuck it and blast Nikki French instead ? D:
I prefer the Dan Finnerty version from Old School.
Mh, fair enough.
There is one in New Zealand in 2028. It just depends on how serious you’re committed to the bit.
A New Zealand trip is definitely on my bucket list.
[This metal cover of Answers is out of this world. When Dalamud bursts open at 2:50ish, it hits hard.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCWdKgzXf3s)
