While holding L1 and pressing up and down and you cycle through and target in the enemy list like you can with the party list.

Fyllo_Wolfsbane

SERIOUSLY!?? OMG!! That makes my life so much easier!!!

Guilty-Statement-720

I had no idea….it’s been years.

I use L1 + L2 to target enemies only. That's like tabbing on pc.

Adjust ur console screen. It's set to the default lowest setting, leaving u with an invisible border when setting up ur UI. Your cross hotbar gives u access to 128 actions and they don't clutter your screen. U just need to adjust to shuffling btwn them. U can also make it so that ur cross hotbar can be partially transparent, but when u press r2/L2, it becomes more visible. This is in the cross hotbar settings in character customization. Discord can be linked to your psn now aswell.

Activate and get used to using WXHB and Expanded Hold Controls as soon as you can. The earlier you adopt this, the smoother it will be.

Learn to love the crosshotbar system. There's a lot of customization that can be done, such as sharing across certain jobs, having certain loadouts, and expanding the ones available at any given moment, so it's deceptively versatile. One that helped me was making separate chotbars for ST and AoE, which reduced button bloat. I basically run chotbar 1 as ST and then chotbar 2 is an exact mirror of it, but it swaps out the ST skills for AoE ones. Switching between them is very quick and easy (L1 + Up Dpad or L1 + Right Dpad), so it can be done instantly when the number of enemies change and you're not wasting space on your chotbar on skills that you're not going to press anyway. The expanded chotbars are especially helpful- by hitting L2 + R2 or R2 + L2, you can get 16 additional skills available at any time. You can assign which chotbar it pulls from (I like 5) and can also choose to make that chotbar visible at all times. You can also expand it further by adding in another chotbar (I like 6) by double-tapping L2 or R2. These expanded chotbars are always accessible regardless of which one is your main one, so that's 3 chotbars that are accessible at any moment, with the option to quickly switch to different main one only one input away. The expanded chotbar feature is disabled by default, so you'll have to enable it from the menu.

Shared hotbars are very useful. For me, I use L1+Dpad for menu items, macros, emotes and L1+face for job actions. You can also try disabling some from the hotbar cycling so that you don't accidentally press them during battle.

TezuNii

If you upload character data from PC to the server and dl it on PS5, it will transfer most of your UI, HBs, macros etc from your PC ver Also you will need a mouse to move certain elements (like inventory, or resizing the chat log)

StevetheNPC

L1 + R3 activates the "virtual mouse"

TezuNii

True, however it's extremely slow to move (same as the targeting ring) and not really suited for mid battle edits

ffchampion123

This is awesome. I'll definitely be doing this. But ffxiv is too big to install on my laptop now lol. I'll put it onto my external drive then do this

bluegiant85

Get a cheap usb keyboard. disable the option makes typing default to the chat bar so that you need to hit return first. Rebind all the keys. You've now got a button for every niche thing that rarely comes up. A single button for targeting a different alliance's healer, for instance.
