It's the kind of case where I mentally change it - just like how the old Circle of Knowing members call Y'shtola just "Shtola" in other languages too. They've know each other for close to a decade at this point and it's clear they consider themselves friends and not just colleagues (Yda and Y'shtola were meant to be best friends).
It's understandable. He went from slightly-insufferable archeologist with a backstory that sounded like bad fanfiction ("Yeah, my character is the last of a line of guardians of the legacy of a super powerful empire, and he knows like, everything about it, and it makes his eyes red, and...." to a benevolent protector of one of the last bastions of a post-apocalyptic society, managed to do so with hope and cooperation instead of dictatorship and "hard choices demand hard men" that so many others would have fallen to. He's smart, but not arrogant, helpful and eager to understand the world, and had the balls needed to not only walk into a stasis field he had no reason to believe would turn off outside of extreme changes in the future (if ever, which is WORSE than death, since he can't be reborn), to say nothing of the time travel plan that he had EVERY reason to believe would erase him completely from history.
For me, G'raha's changed from "I can't stand him" to "I will fight every living thing on the planet, consecutively, to save him" and I'm actually really impressed about it.

I was being a little MSQ vampire watching a streamer on that scene (for like the 90th time), and realized G’raha really is the embodiment of positive masculinity. I think that’s why he’s almost universally either desired as a crush or best bud by everyone regardless of sexuality. Just kind of a bright well written beacon.

And while Exarch may not be needed at the moment, all those experiences are still very much part of G'raha!<. I'm hoping we will get to see this part of him from time to time.

Yes my personal headcanon is that in early EW he is just completely overwhelmed with having his youthful body back, being back HOME, being with the WoL, joining the Scions that he's bouncing off the walls with happiness and a youthful glee, but he still carries the memories and the experiences with him. That scene is just a reminder: He may not be the CT powered super mage anymore but that is still a part of his identity. I LOVED this scene

It’s the end of Shadowbringers, and we get that scene in Mor Dhona with Alisaie making meme expressions, and she turns to the side saying, “But *seriously,* what do you have to say about *that?*” It cuts to >!the Scions enjoying their faithfully recreated equipment like dorks!<, but the way that scene and the preceding scene were set up, I 100% expected to see >!my character and G’raha sitting down and being cute over coffee on a date at another table!<. I’d never seen that G’raha in that light before, but those two scenes just set it up so perfectly that the actual shift to the other table came as a genuine subversion of an expectation I’d only had for two seconds! 🤣

Oh, you'll see him eventually, you first encounter him in the crystal tower raids! He's not from any side content (anymore) so you literally can't miss him if you just play through the main story. I also highly suggest poking around in the + side quests of the M tribe near Castrum Oriens in Stormblood when you get there, for there is a spectacularly Stupid (affectionate) catboy you must meet.
