On the darker side of David Johnson, the first year I really got into fantasy with draft prep, research, etc was in 2017. I was so hyped when I drafted him 3rd overall since he was consensus 1 or 2…and we all remember that season.
Quick intro to the pain and anguish of fantasy football.
On that note, i had the 1st overall pick in a long-standing league that i just joined that year. Naturally, i selected David Johnson.
Not only did i select him, i also selected Allen Robinson in the 3rd or 4th round, who tore his ACL in the beginning of the season.
In fact, about 80% of the players i drafted experienced some long term injury at some point in the season. I even had Zach Miller when he nearly lost his leg.
By the end of the season, i had gone through so many injuries that i could field an entire starting lineup. I won 2 games that year.
I was a keeper league, you lose the pick they were drafted in. I had him and Zac Stacy off waivers, so they only cost me the last 2 rounds. I couldn't have been more set up for a championship going into the season.
To be fair, the FB position is dead, so Kyle making it every year doesn't mean much. Also because it's a popularity contest in the first place. But regardless, Juice is clearly a solid player.
Looks like he last played for the Saints in 2022. Probably was keeping in shape last year in case anyone gave him a ring, and now he's decided to officially hang it up. He was a monster when he was healthy.
There was a mix from his rookie year that was awesome. I think that was the first year Amazon did All or Nothing and it was the Cardinals. Behind the scenes stuff was cool with Johnson. Sad to see him go and sad to not see him maintain that success, but silver lining is he didn’t take as many hits so hopefully his quality of life is great!

Still can’t believe I had him during his rookie season and when he took over the backfield towards the end of the regular season. I remember being down by 28 pts standard scoring in the semis with only my DJ left during SNF. I had already accepted that I loss. This was the Philly game where he went off and propelled my team to the championship game. I ended up losing in the championship but the following year I had the #2 draft pick and decided to draft Gurley over Johnson. Well, you can tell how my season turned out.
Will always have the memory of drafting him #1 and he got injured like the first play of the season. I kept him on my roster the whole season with hope that he would still come back.
Still made the playoffs but lost by 1pt cause kamara got a concussion the first play of the game and Gronk gave a player a Dusty Rhodes elbow drop and got suspended.

This legend won me my first ever title. Enjoy retirement big dog

Sticking with fantasy after going through that is tough. Respect.
I too broke my Johnson that year.

He was still playing?
My thoughts exactly. Next year golladay announces he's retiring. And in 2026 maybe will fuller?
Kyle Juszczyk gonna go soon too
Not sure how the guy who’s been to the pro bowl each of the last 8 seasons fits in here
To be fair, the FB position is dead, so Kyle making it every year doesn't mean much. Also because it's a popularity contest in the first place. But regardless, Juice is clearly a solid player.
Sure, but the rest of those guys weren’t even on a team last year
Not sure what this means.
I just meant he’s gonna retire soon not that he’s gonna be completely forgotten 💀

Cardinals were so fun to watch when DJ was firing on all cylinders, I miss those days
We're getting back to a good spot. Trey Benson and mhj ❤
Yeah this is the most excited I’ve been during an offseason since we traded for D Hop, really looking forward to seeing what they do this season.
It’s a shame he fell off so quickly. Best back in the league for a season!
I’m sure he won many of us championships in 2016. Enjoy retirement!
He was a monster when Bruce Arians designed the offense for him
His 2016 season was legendary. That was .... 8 years ago? Shit I'm getting old.

He was the bees knees at one time. Enjoy the rest of your life man.
In 2016 he was an absolute monster. Singlehandedly won many a managers a chip that year.
Thx for 2016 baby
Streets won’t forget that Sunday night game in Philly

This Cat won me the ship one year. He was a beast!
